| Boy stabs his dad to death at cyber cafe after he confronts him over playing violent video games Posted: 20 Feb 2014 01:25 PM PST   Daily Mail reports that the boy's father had gone to fetch the boy from the internet cafe, but when the boy refused to return home the pair argued and the boy allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed his father. His mother, Hua Mai, blamed violent games for her husband's death, and said that the teenager had become 'addicted' to gaming. Continue...  She said that her son was a regular visitor to the internet cafe in Loudi in south China's Hunan province, and that his school work had started to suffer as he was missing classes and not doing his homework. 'When my husband spotted that he had once again skipped his studies to go with his friends and play video games, my husband Lu had gone to get the boy,' she said. | ||||||

| Basketmouth Uncensored 2014 UK Tour Review Posted: 20 Feb 2014 07:04 AM PST  Tickets to the show were sold out a week before the concert date and even after launching standing tickets, they sold out in hours! The concert has gone down as the 1st African comedy or music show to be sold out completely in London. Interestingly the ad campaign promoted Basketmouth as the only performing artist for the night (which many feared may affect turn out being that most shows are known to feature top music acts alongside comedy), but this was set-up as the traditional one-man stand up gig. He held the crowd down with a straight set of 2 hours, all brand new material. The show is set to touch down in Lagos on the 4th of May 4th at the Eko Hotel & suites Convention Centre. I have just met the Nigerian Ambassador to Niger who confirmed to me that the President asked him to inform me of the decision.About financial misconduct and recklessness he's being accused of...

| President Jonathan picks Zenith Bank MD as new CBN Governor Posted: 20 Feb 2014 04:56 AM PST    President Jonathan has picked the current Managing Director of Zenith Bank Godwin Emefiele to replace Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. His name has been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation. Bayo Adelabu, the current Executive Director at First Bank as Deputy Governor of CBN, replacing Tunde Lemo. Sanusi was removed just a few months to the end of his tenure. His tenure was supposed to end in June 2014. Sanusi said he will challenge the decision to suspend him but will not go back to the job. | ||||||

| President Jonathan suspends CBN governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Posted: 20 Feb 2014 01:57 AM PST  Having taken special notice of reports of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and other investigating bodies, which indicate clearly that Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi's tenure has been characterized by various acts of financial recklessness and misconduct which are inconsistent with the administration's vision of a Central Bank propelled by the core values of focused economic management, prudence, transparency and financial discipline;
President Jonathan has further ordered that Mallam Sanusi should hand over to the most senior Deputy Governor of the CBN, Dr Sarah Alade who will serve as Acting Governor until the conclusion of on-going investigations into breaches of enabling laws, due process and mandate of the CBN. The President expects that as Acting Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Alade will focus on the core mandate of the Bank and conduct its affairs with greater professionalism, prudence and propriety to restore domestic and international confidence in the country's apex bank. The Federal Government of Nigeria reassures all stakeholders in Nigeria's financial and monetary system that this decision has been taken in absolute good faith, in the overall interest of the Nigerian economy and in accordance with our laws and due process.
