Capital Oil and Gas reiterates commitment to the Nigerian masses as Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah advices labour In the wake of the just called off strike action by the labour unions and resultant fuel scarcity, Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has called on the various labour unions and their leaders to atleast engage in constructive negotiations and dialogue with all relevant stakeholders before commencing on future strikes rather than embarking on sudden strike actions without warning which eventually leaves the masses in misery.

While thanking labour for calling off the strike which has helped to alleviate the untold hardship caused by the action, Dr. Ubah pleaded with labour to consider and understand the plight of Nigerians who suffer immensely as a result of these strike actions, so that the country could move forward as fuel scarcity has the propensity to ground the economy of the nation if not properly managed.

He also reiterated Capital Oil and Gas' commitment to serving the Nigerian masses. "I feel the pulse of the masses, and this makes it unbearable for me during these difficult situations as it brings untold hardship to the people" Dr. Ubah added.

Dr. Ubah, whose Capital Oil and Gas' filling stations has been swarmed with Nigerians seeking to buy fuel, promised that Capital Oil and Gas will do everything within its means in conjunction with NNPC and all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the fuel supply situation improves drastically within the next two days. "Just yesterday, 9th of March, Capital Oil and Gas loaded out over 9million litres of PMS in line with NNPC's directives and we are poised to do more in the coming days to ease the suffering", Dr. Ubah affirmed.

Dr. Ubah concluded by thanking the management of the NNPC for their sincerity of purpose and innovative ideas while reaffirming his confidence in their quest to drive the oil and gas sector forward. He urged the masses to give the NNPC their full support and trust as they seek to put an end to the issue of fuel scarcity in Nigeria. Pictures below goes to show the plight Nigerians go through to get fuel including officers as seen in one of Capital Oil and Gas' filling stations in Omole, Lagos state.

Lekki Gardens MD Richard Nyong, detained at Panti over building collapse

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 12:46 PM PST

Following the collapse of a five-storey building under construction on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, Lekki on Tuesday, the Police on Thursday said Richard Nyong, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens, the construction company behind the collapsed building, has been detained at Panti Police Station.

Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Mrs. Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed Nyong's arrest, said he will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.

On Wednesday, Governor Ambode had ordered all Directors of Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited to submit themselves to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, within the next twenty four hours or face immediate arrest.

Nyong complied with the directive and reported himself to the office of the Commissioner of Police in company of his lawyer, Mr. Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and was detained after interrogation.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government in the wake of the building collapse, revealed that preliminary reports and investigation, it was discovered that the collapsed building was served contravention notice for exceeding the approved floors and thereafter sealed by the Lagos State Building Control Agency.

The government also discovered that in a brazen act of defiance and impunity, the owners of the building, Messrs Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited, the promoters of Lekki Gardens, criminally unsealed the property and continued building beyond the approved floors until the unfortunate incident of Tuesday which has led to the death of over 30 persons.

Governor Ambode who is said to be irked at the spate of building collapse in the state had vowed to wield the big stick so as to put a stop to the disturbing trend.

With the increasing rate of kidnapping, Betty Irabor advises parents to rethink posting photos of their children online

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 12:11 PM PST

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor has advised parents to be cautious and to think twice before posting their children's photos online, as they could unknowingly be putting their children at risk. Below is what she wrote:
"With all the kidnapping going on, parents may need to think twice before posting pictures of their kids on social media.
I once saw a picture posted by an actor of himself and daughter in school uniform. I knew the school uniform because my daughter attended the same school. Imagine if someone wanted to kidnap that child; they know where to lay siege. Let's exercise restraint when posting family pictures as well as the information we inadvertently provide to those who may be predators"

Tinubu's daughter accuses Buhari of abandoning Market men and women who voted for him

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 12:08 PM PST

The Iyaloja-General and daughter of APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has accused the Buhari led government of abandoning Market men and women who voted him into office. Folasade said this while speaking at a meeting between APC leaders and some market women in Abuja today March 10th.
"I am here this afternoon to represent the market women and men of Nigeria. There have been agitation. The people believe that the government of the day is not carrying them along as it should be; that they worked round the clock for the party during the campaign, but after the inauguration most of us are not carried along.
We only hear in the news that the first lady is doing a programme, this and that. And we just see it in the news, and they wouldn't allow me be; all the complaints come to my table morning and night. And I say okay, enough is enough… We even heard that another FCT woman leader is organising another market association named Association of Organised Market People in Abuja, and most of these people are PDP members; they were nowhere to be found when we were working for the party day and night. So, now our people are not happy because they need to benefit from where they believe they have the right to, and all we need, all we are crying for, is for the government to give them a sense of belonging and carry them along properly"‎she said
She said the fact that her father‎ is a leader in APC doesn't stop her from saying the truth ‎
"Because I am the daughter of the national leader of APC doesn't mean that I must not represent my people well. I have to represent my people's opinion. I am a leader, and as a leader my people are crying foul, and I won't fold my hands and keep quiet because my father is a national leader, it is wrong. I am not mobilising against the party, no. I am solidly behind the party, I have worked for the party before and I will still work for the party tomorrow, but that does not stop me from saying the truth."

$2.1billion arms deal: Jonathan should face justice - Ndume

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 11:23 AM PST

Senate leader, Ali Ndume, says former President Jonathan should also be made to face justice in the ongoing $ 2.1 billion arms deal scandal. Ndume said this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja today March 10th
"I do not want to dabble into that being one of the victims of the insurgency. My house was taken over by insurgents and my town was declared a caliphate of the insurgents. My Emir was killed while these people were smiling to the banks with the money that was meant to buy arms and ammunition.
It was for lack of ammunition that the Nigerian Armed Forces had to run away.‎ As far as I am concerned, these people are living on blood money, the blood of so money innocent citizens of this country particularly from the North East. No justice is too much for them, nobody is supposed to be spared. Because the case is judicial and I am not a lawyer to determine who should be brought to book, what I am saying is that justice should be served. Over 10,000 people have lost their lives, at one time you could see my people were slaughtered like chickens and the reason why this happened was because our army was not equipped and not well kitted. And somebody made away with the money meant for the procurement of arms and ammunition. I am not defending President Jonathan but he approved that this money be used for procurement of arms. So if the law says he should be part of those that should be part of the accountability or those that should face justice, I think nobody should be spared. I really don't want to make comment on that but anybody that is involved in that blood money should be held responsible. If the President approved that money in the name of buying arms while giving a directive that it should be shared among his cronies, then he should face the law. If anybody is supposed to buy arms and you gave them money to buy arms, as the president, after some time you should ask `where are the arms anyway. Let me add and clearly that is my position, if because of this or any other criminality Jonathan should face the law, he should, I did, I am facing the law. Nobody is supposed to be above the law, if Jonathan is a culprit he should face the law: if there is evidence that the former president should face the law then he should. After all, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty."‎he said

Fake dollar bills: Billboard magazine about to put 50 Cent in trouble with US Feds

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 09:12 AM PST

50 Cent has been claiming that all the money he shows off on social media is fake. He even testified in court yesterday. But there might be another problem for the rapper. Being in possession of such large amounts of fake dollars could be a problem and Billboard magazine may have tipped off the Feds. Read what the wrote after the cut...

From Billboard Magazine

…his answer may soothe the judge's concerns, but how about the U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting against the counterfeiting of U.S. currency?
Robert Hoback, a spokesperson for the agency, wouldn't comment directly about [50 Cent]'s case, but did point out an FAQ on the Secret Service website pertaining to the rules for the printing, publishing and illustration of U.S. currency. The rules dictate that illustrations must be "less than three-fourths or more than one and one-half" the size of a real bill and that anything used in the making of an illustration must be "destroyed and/or deleted or erased after their final use."

Male Kim K wannabe has spent £100K on surgeries in a bid to look like her (photos)

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:42 AM PST

24 year-old Jordan James Parke is the superfan of superfans. The Kim K-obsessed lad has spent over £100K on surgery in a bid to look like the reality star. Now, after countless procedures including two nose jobs, a chin implant, 50 lip-filling operations, eyebrow tattoos, Botox injections in several areas and laser hair removal, he has transformed and he looks completely unrecognisable in pre-surgery photos.

Jordan is recovering from his latest cosmetic surgery which includes; a second nose job, a chin implant and jawline and neck liposuction all in one operation. The chin job was inspired by Kylie.
He had to fly to Portland for the nose job after his original surgeon refused him a second nose job.

Just hours after waking up, Jordan said:
"I've had another nose job, a chin implant and jaw line and neck liposuction. I just thought, you know what, I wanted it all done, so just get it done in one op."
He wasn't happy with his first nose job, felt it was "too big" so he printed photos of Kim K to show the surgeon in Portland. "I showed them a picture of Kim for my nose, and said 'this is how I want it".

Kim isn't his only inspiration though.
"I wanted my chin like Kylie Jenner's, with a really defined jawline. I love her jawline and she's got such a sharp chin,"
It's the whole family now, but mainly Kim. But I love them all, their looks, the way they dress, they're just an inspiration."
He says his next procedure will be a "Brazilian butt lift". Predictably, his mum isn't to happy about his excesses.
"My mum hates me getting stuff done, and my Nan hates it too. They just warned me 'watch what you're doing, don't have it too small. Don't go crazy'. But I only told them about the nose job this time. I just mentioned the chin implant, and my nan was like 'why the hell would you have a chin implant'?" But I'm really lucky, all my family support me no matter what, even if they don't approve with what I do. They're all there for me."
He said he's not planning to stop any time soon however:
"There's no end! There's no end.I'm on this journey now, and it will never end, it will keep going from there. I just can't wait to see myself in 15 years. I'll be like Joan Rivers. I'll defy age."
Jordan is yet to meet the Kardashians, but he's planning to do more filming in the States this year, he said:
"That's hopefully going to come soon [meeting them], fingers crossed."

When online dating goes awry (check out this chat)

Online dating can be a risky affair, you never know the person behind the carefully crafted words, except of course they blow their cover and reveal themselves to be an a**. That was the experience of one Tinder user.

This Tinder user, struck up a rapport with what seemed like an attractive fellow at first, until everything went south. She shared pictures of the chat on imgur. She said:
"So I matched a guy on Tinder. He seemed pretty normal as first, a few quirks here and there, but who am I to judge, right?
"Matched, had a brief conversation, asked for my number and I gave it to him.Talked two or three nights ago and agreed to go on a Wednesday date.
"After agreeing and chatting on the phone, something felt off. He was too offbeat and I began to feel uncomfortable. The following day he said a few things that didn't sit with me. This was the final thing that did it..."

17 year old girl who bleeds from her eyes, ears and mouth reveals the misery of the horriying condition

Posted: 10 Mar 2016 08:04 AM PST

Marnie-Rae Harvey, a teenager who is unable to leave her home for her daily activities because she suffers from a rare condition in which blood spontaneously seeps from her eye, ears, beneath her tongue and from her scalp, says doctors are unable to determine what the cause of her illness is and have since dubbed her the ''Mystery Girl".

Baffled doctors have no idea what is causing the bleeding, which is steadily getting worse, and have dubbed her the "Mystery Girl" as they struggle to come up with a diagnosis.
Until they do, the teenager is forced to stay at home as the bleeding could start at any time, and must cope with the stigma of her condition which means she has lost most of her friends.

Her mother, who is terrified for her daughter says she has to shake her every morning to check she is alive said:
"Every morning I have to shake her to see if she is still alive. It's absolutely devastating. It happens every single day. We've just gone through 12 days of solid bleeding from her tongue and scalp. She is sick four or five times a day, vomiting blood."
Last July, the teenager woke up with blood seeping out of her eye. She was rushed to hospital by her terrified family, but doctors could do nothing.Soon after, blood started seeping from her ears and from under her fingernails.

In the last couple of months the mysterious bleeding has spread to her scalp and under her tongue.
Cath said that her daughter had been coughing up blood and suffering from excruciating migraines for a couple of years before the bleeding started, meaning she was often to ill to go to school.
She said:
"It feels like we are living in a horror movie. At first it was only her eye. She woke up in a pool of blood. She came downstairs with the blood pouring from her eye. We rushed her to A&E but they could do nothing for her.
"Then it started coming from inside her ears, big blood clots, and then from under her fingernails. Recently, she tipped her head upside down and blood started spurting out from her scalp.
"The strangest thing is that her eye can be pouring blood until her face is covered and then suddenly it stops and the whites of her eyes are clear.
"The bleeding comes from the base of her tongue, a string of blood. She has to sit there with a cotton pad in her mouth to stop her swallowing blood."
Cath, who works as a shop assistant in her home town of Stoke-on-Trent, said her other daughter Leigh, 25, and her dad have to stay with Marnie during the day as she cannot be left alone.

She added:
"I wake up in the night with her vomiting blood and then I have to go to work. I can't think of anything else, it's a constant worry." one of the worst things for the family is the reaction of other people when they see her daughter.
"There's the scare factor. We go to A&E all the time in a panic at the symptoms but there is nothing they can do. Last time we were there everyone was taking pictures of her and saying how disgusting it was. I had to take her outside, where she passed out."

Marnie said the worst thing about her condition was being unable to leave the house or carry on with her life. She said:
"I's weird, scary, really scary. I woke up the first time in a pool of blood. I walked downstairs and my eye was bleeding and the whole side of my face was covered in blood. My family were so shocked.
"I applied for a hairdressing course but I had to stop for fear of bleeding on the customers. I've lost most of my friends, they don't want to see me. I'm always at home. My life is on hold, I can't go to college.
"My eyes are the most shocking thing. I wish the doctors would just find what it is. No one has ever seen anything like it before."

Her mother Cath said she wants to raise awareness about Marnie's condition. She said:
"We know there will be silly comments, people calling her a vampire. But we hope someone, somewhere will have witnessed it and give us something, anything to help.We want to raise awareness, there must be someone else in the world with this"
Marnie has been confirmed she does not have a brain tumour, no blood diseases, no clotting disorders - but doctors are unable to put their finger on the cause of her bleeding.

An ultrasound showed her liver, kidneys, womb, ovaries and organs are all functioning perfectly - as well as her ears, eyes, nose and throat. MRI scans, CT scans and multiple blood tests also all showed up normal.

The teen is currently waiting to see a gynaecologist to determine whether the illness, which gets worse around her period, is linked to her uterus

What do you do when the system fails you?

Read about Soni Irabor's Youth Empowerment Forum below...
I did my best. I went to school, got a degree, served my country for a year and finally qualified as a job seeker. I spent over a week crafting the perfect resume, filled with all my achievements. I wrote the perfect cover letter that Google guaranteed would stand me out from other job seekers.

I gave my CV to everyone I knew but they kept posting me. So I went to the companies myself and submitted my CV but I never heard from them. Career fora replaced my parties until I started getting called for interviews but most of them were scams and the ones that were not, wanted me to be "a fresh graduate with a minimum of three years' work experience".

I wondered if they knew I studied Marketing not Magic. Sitting at home was doing me no good so I decided to give myself an edge by going to further my studies. One degree, Two Masters and Three years later, I still have no job. This is the reality of an average Nigerian job seeker. In the pursuit of degrees, you forget to acquire practical skills that will set you apart from your peers and help you get the job of your dreams or even set up your own business.

The good news is you can avoid this. It is not too early and never too late for you to take control of your life. Ruyi Communications Limited (RUYICOM), an Integrated Marketing Communications Company has organized the SiLYouth Empowerment Forum (SIYEF) entitled "The Nigerian Youth: Bridging the Skills Gap" where you can gain knowledge from experienced and successful entrepreneurs in the society.

On the 2nd of April, 2016, 5000 enterprising youth between the ages of 18 and 40, will have the opportunity to interact with successful people like Larry Osai, Linda Ikeji and the host, Soni Irabor, who will enlighten participants on the secret to their sucess and challenges they encountered along the way. With the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria, this forum is designed to bridge the skills gap between the budding youth and the labour force.

The event will create networking opportunities between participants and resource persons. Participation is by online registration on a first come, first serve basis with prizes for the first 200 accredited participants.
