He was recently in Warri Delta state where he paid a courtesy call on the President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. He solicited the advise of Oritsejafor on how to stop the tide of the Boko Haram in the North. He also said some people are investing in the Boko Haram insurgents and were sponsoring a propaganda against him and his current efforts. |

| Ugandan tabloid publish names of 200 prominent homosexuals Posted: 25 Feb 2014 08:13 AM PST  Just a day after the Ugandan President signed the anti-gay bill into law, a newspaper in the country The Red Pepper newspaper today published 200 names of prominent gay men and women in Uganda. Amongst those listed includes a catholic priest, a rap artiste as well as a prominent gay rights activist, Pepe Julien Onziema. The list which appeared with the title Exposed, has generated great concern as it appears as a way of witch-hunting the gay community in Uganda. The list contained the names of those that were already known to be gay as well as those who have led a private gay life. This isn't the first time this will happen in Uganda. In 2011, a list of prominent gays in Uganda was released by a Ugandan tabloid in which the editor asked for them to be Hanged. This unfortunately led to the gruesome murder of one of the country's gay right activists, David Kato. |

| Nude photos of our Apostle on Internet was blackmail -- C&S Church Posted: 25 Feb 2014 06:33 AM PST  Well, the national body of the Church, the Holy Order of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church, has spoken out about the case, saying it was all an act of blackmail. According to one of the leaders in the church, Senior Apostle Abimbola Esuola, the clergyman had gone to the house of the said married woman to pray for her but was setup in the process. She said that 4 men came into the house where he was praying for her and ordered him to take off his clothes after which pictures of him naked were taken. They then decided to use the pictures to extort money from the Prophet. Continue...  They first demanded for N10million but was able to get N2million from him after much persuasion. They still continued asking him for money and at a time threatened to kill him if he didn't provide the money being asked for. Worried about the developments, the Clergyman spoke to his Secretary about his predicament, who in company of other members of the church proceeded to lay a complain at the Idimu Police station. The police then did their investigations and apprehended one Sherifat Baalogun who already had a case of extortion with them and Makanjuola Olagunja. Sherifat's husband who was also found to be an accomplice in the incident, is said to be on the run. Sherifat and Makanjuola are currently being remanded in police custody after an Ejigbo Magistrate, Mrs M.B Folami, heard their case and ordered for them to be remanded until others involved in the case are produced. |

| The Other Steve Comes to Nigeria Posted: 25 Feb 2014 05:41 AM PST  The story of the Apple Corporation can never really be fully told without acknowledging the role of its co-founder, "the other Steve", Steve Wozniak. Even though the company is best associated with marketing, strategic and design wizardry of Steve Jobs, the other co-founder, the truth is that Apple and indeed the PC industry would not be what it is today, but for the genius of Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was the main designer of Apple I and its sequel, Apple II. The Apple organization which the two Steves founded is credited with revolutionizing the personal computer industry. In a remarkable shift from the status quo, Apple II was designed to be usable by just about anybody. Continue...  It incorporated a central processing unit, a keyboard, a floppy disc drive and very importantly, colour graphics. No longer did you need to have knowledge of programming language to use a computer. The combination of the colour graphics and the user-friendliness actually made the act of using a computer, "cool". Little wonder, therefore, that Apple II quickly became the first commercially successful line of personal computers. The disposition of Woz towards invention and innovation is apparently the motivation behind his invitation to Nigeria by MTN to deliver this year's edition of its annual innovation lectures. And it may appear like a departure of sorts from the past when the company invited such management icons as Michael Porter, Les Brown, David Plouffe (Barrack Obama's campaign manager) and most recently, Ram Charan. As an inventor and innovator, Wozniak is skilled at identifying a problem and converting it into an opportunity. Management consultants, on the other hand have a genius for observing, discerning critical trends and patterns that ordinary people miss, and recommending solutions. Obviously, the company realizes that there is a need for a blend of both approaches: the theoretical and the practical. Wozniak's profile as an inventor has been long recognized by his peers and the technology industry. In 1985 he was awarded the National Medal of Technology by the US President. This is the highest honour that the US bestows on the country's leading innovators. And in 2000, he was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame and awarded the Heinz Award for Technology, The Economy and Employment for "single handedly designing the first personal computer and directing his lifelong passion for mathematics and electronics toward lighting the fires of excitement for education in students and their teachers." Wozniak's first coming to Nigeria is sure to inspire lots of Nigeria's technology aficionados but also management experts as well as policy makers in the public sector. | Update on Ejigbo women torture; police arrest & parade 12 suspects Posted: 25 Feb 2014 05:20 AM PST 
The suspects include: Isiaka Waidi (the Baba-Oja of the market) said to be the mastermind of the dastardly act which culminated in the arrest, debasement, torture and extortion of fifty thousand naira, Haruna Abdullahi and Buhari Yusuf who mixed the concoction of pepper and alcoholic spirit that were applied on the bodies, including the privates of the victims. Others include: Saheed Adisa, Lateef Tijani, Ahmed Adisa, Oloruntoyin Dauda a.k.a Iya-Oja, Adenkule Adenuga, Jimoh Busari and Azeez Akinosun. It will be recalled that earlier this year, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc had, in view of his concern towards ensuring the speedy delivery of justice in this case, ordered the immediate takeover of its investigation by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Force Criminal Investigation Department (Lagos Annex) from the Lagos State Police Command. Consequently, a team of crack detectives led by DCP Chris Ezike swung into action and conducted discreet investigations in line with standard best practices, during which the suspects in connection with the matter were arrested. The Police have also declared wanted the following suspects: Tiri, an alleged member of OPC who was captured in the video footage and alleged to have stripped naked one of the victims, Ajoke Agoma, mother of the two other female victims in the presence of her husband, Otepa Oluronti, Akeem and Machael Abolore whose whereabouts are yet unknown but who have been implicated in having played active roles in the heinous crimes against the victims. Meanwhile, the IGP has commended the Human Rights, Civil Society, and Women Support Groups as well as the Office of the Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice and all other stakeholders whose important contributions have tremendously assisted the Police in this and other matters relating to human dignity, safety and security. He however calls on the general public to assist the Police with information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects. |

I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months. I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Nonsense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy. How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And I have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood. Doctors said I could have died if not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover I ask to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence. She didn't say what happened to the guy that did this. | Boko Haram attacks Federal Govt College Yobe, kills 29 students Posted: 25 Feb 2014 04:17 AM PST  Men suspected to be members of the Islamic Sect, Boko Haram, today Tuesday Feb 25th launched an attack on students of the Federal Government College Buni-Yadi Yobe state, killing 29 students (or more), Hausa Service BBC reports. Some buildings in the school were also reportedly razed. Sources at the school said the men invaded the school in the early hours of this morning while the students were still sleeping in their hostels and slaughtered them. Guns were not used in the attack as was the sect's usual practice, probably to avoid the attention of people. They used machetes. The Federal Government College Buni Yadi is a co-educational institution located some 55km south of Damaturu the Yobe State capital. This is the fourth attack on secondary schools since the inception of the sect members. |
