| GEJ is a good man! Sues Senate, House of Reps over Constitution Amendments Posted: 23 Apr 2015 12:47 PM PDT  If amended, it means there are some decisions and actions the president can't take without the consent of the National Assemly and there will be decisions the National Assembly can take without the consent of the president. Like I said, GEJ could sign this and walk away but instead he refused to sign it. He wrote a 7-page letter to the Senate explaining why he declined to sign the document into law. "In view of the foregoing and absence of credible evidence that the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Fourth Alteration) Act 2015 satisfied the strict requirements of Section 9(3) of the 1999 Constitution, it will be unconstitutional for me to assent to it. I therefore withhold my assent and accordingly remit Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Fourth Alteration) Act 2015 to the Senate /House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."But now, the National Assembly is saying that after 30 days, if the president doesn't sign the doc, they will override his veto. Meaning that they will give themselves the power to amend the constitution without the president's signature. Now the federal government has instituted a suit at the Supreme Court to nullify the proposed amendments to the 1999 Constitution. |

| Classiq Tunez, Pscholes, Modele and Sther complete Top 12 of Etisalat Sponsored Nigerian Idol Posted: 23 Apr 2015 09:21 AM PDT  With weeks of shattered dreams for a lot of contestants and a few closer to their dreams of becoming the next music sensation, last week saw the last set of 3 contestants qualify for the Top 12 round of the Etisalat Sponsored Nigerian Idol. 12 contestants were recalled for the Wildcard round, and the judges had the responsibility of picking the best 3 contestants to make it to the Top 12. All the recalled contestants gave their all to impress the judges, but Pscholes, Modele and Sther emerged victorious. However, the Judges placed Preye and Precious as stand-by contestants, as they both impressed the judging trio. In an unexpected twist of fate, Tama Nisa, a contestant that had scaled through to the top 12 two weeks ago, decided that she would be leaving the competition due to health reasons. This opened up a free spot in the top 12 and the judges decided to give it to Classiq Tunez after his riveting rendition of Robbie Williams' 'Angels'. Manager, Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, Idiare Atimomo said "The Nigerian voters and Judges have made their decisions and they have kept faith with their favorite contestants. We are happy with their favorites and confident that they will not disappoint.'' So there you have it folks! The contestants who have made it thus far to the top-12 stage include Preye, Prime, Dolu, Brenda, Nex 2 and Classiq Tunez. Others are Ayoka, K-Peace, Uloma, Pscholes, Modele and Sther. | Tonto Dikeh & a luxury shopper call each other out on social media Posted: 23 Apr 2015 08:46 AM PDT  This morning, some folks sent me text messages purportedly between Tonto Dikeh and some personal shopper called Pearl Chucks about Tonto buying stuff from her and allegedly refusing to pay for them. Then I later saw the shopper calling out Tonto Dikeh on instagram. I didn't carry the story because it could just be someone trying to use her name to draw attention to her business but Tonto just replied her - acknowledging that she had business dealings with this person, so now I can carry the story. Read about it after the cut...(btw, Tonto shared the screengrab above on instagram) So Pearl took to instagram this morning to reveal message sent to Tonto Dikeh to pay up her debt of N192,000. She claimed Tonto Dikeh gave a cheque that bounced and has refused to respond towards the issue and is now giving out threats.
Tagging instagram users, Pearl added, You guys should tell Tontoh Dikeh to pay my money.keep threatening my life I have all text messages to backup.fake wannabe celebrity you couldn't even afford authentic designer Gucci bags you chose fake givenchy like all your other fake bags,you don't even know authentic designer things.' It happened to this woman Posted: 23 Apr 2015 07:34 AM PDT  Passers-by shouted at the woman to stop but she flew past and 'disappeared' down the gap, which opened 'like a trap door' into the basement below. The woman was said to be pushing a shopping trolley. The café owner helped the shaken woman out and gave her a coffee while she waited for paramedics to take her to hospital. |

They now have only bow and arrows, machetes, daggers and other local weapons. You can find more than 500 of them with only few having rifles and even when one or two of them have rifles, they have no ammunition. I am optimistic that the military will succeed in killing many of these insurgents who have been terrorizing residents for the past three years."he said |

When I was goin to post about this about 4days ago, if I did I'm sure I'd have written a whole paragraph as I had too many words running thru my head from watching videos of attacks on innocent victims to arrogant silly South African man saying to the camera that Nigerians have to go cos they take their women & their jobs... #smh looking into his lazy eyes as he spoke was single handedly the most stupid thing I'd ever heard a full grown man say, but that aside I guess this images speak for themselves... I'd say this much tho' as regards what I read and images being circulated on social media and few acts already being engaged by Nigerians on South African countries in Nigeria, and worst of all watching a Nigerian Senator on NTA lastNight encouraging Nigerians to attack companies like MTN & MultiChoice amongst others is totally despicable. |

| Nigerian troops pull back from Sambisa forest Posted: 23 Apr 2015 06:23 AM PDT  The soldiers and the vigilante group members made an entry into the deadly forest on Sunday April 20th to destroy the sect members camps in the forest and if possible liberate the missing Chibok girls. Reuters reports that a soldier who confirmed the retreat of the Nigerian troops said "The soldiers have retreated to Bama because of mines. They had been on the road but that made them vulnerable, so they moved to the bush but there are mines planted there (too),"A member of the vigilante group, Muhammad Mungonu, while confirming the recent development said "Three of our boys were killed by a landmine as we progressed into Sambisa. We've suspended going farther." |
