Drake's alleged ghostwriter defends him Posted: 25 Jul 2015 09:51 AM PDT Earlier this week rapper Meek Mill ripped into Drake on social media, accusing him of not writing his own lyrics and outed a guy named Quentin Miller as Drake's "ghostwriter". Quentin, who is credited on Drake's album, speaks up in his defense. Below is what he wrote on his Tumblr page, (but note that Quentin mentioned he met Drake in 2014. Drake has been dropping hot lyrics longer than that) Winter 2014… I was just another guy working a job he hated with a passion for music…. And somehow found myself on the phone with One of my idols. I told him I worked in a bakery and his exact words were "Fuck that, your destined for greatness"… Hearing that from someone that I've been studying since 2009, bar for bar…. Theres no way to describe that.. Most of the project was done before i came in the picture.. i remember him playing it for me for the first time thinking "Why am I here?" like.. what does he need me for?? The answer is.. Nothing… I watched this man piece together words in front of me… I watched him write/ replace bars 2- 3 at a time on 6pm in NY.. I witnessed him light up, go in and freestyle madonna…. I took notes from the best in the game…. I remember him Showing me the thank you notes in NY before the album dropped.. Showing me the QM, telling me they put me on the credits (Ghostwritter???) … He attached my name to something that touched the world.. When nobody would pay attention, drake saw something in me and reached out… Of all people… drizzy.. Two artist in exact opposite spaces in their career.. We came together and made something special.. I am not and never will be a "ghostwriter" for drake.. Im proud to say that we've collaborated .. but i could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together .. Thats all i have to say on it.. back to this 1317 shit… - Q.M.

Why I can’t pay workers salaries - Rauf Aregbesola Posted: 25 Jul 2015 09:07 AM PDT Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State says the drop in allocations to the state from the Federation Account is largely responsible for his inability to pay his state civil servants their salaries. Aregbesola said this after he received an award by the Voice of African Women for Human Dignity, an NGO at Abuja yesterday July 24th. "I have found it hard to pay the wage bills owing to the declining federal allocation to the state. Federal allocation to the state has reduced by 40 per cent since 2013, thereby making it difficult for my government to meet its responsibilities," he said.

Posted: 25 Jul 2015 07:11 AM PDT Victoria Donda Perez's eight-month-old daughter was hungry while she was attending a meeting in Argentine National Congress earlier this month so she whipped out her breasts and fed her in the full glare of everyone. She is being hailed as a role-model for women and the picture had further opened up a conversation on public breastfeeding. What do you think? How many women would do same? Some women said that they would rather go into the car or restroom to breastfeed their children.

What's in her bag? Woman on train platform becomes internet celeb for wrong reasons Posted: 25 Jul 2015 05:58 AM PDT This woman became an internet sensation this week after someone posted this photo of her on a train platform in London, on his Facebook page. The photo was shared over 50,000 times but fortunately for her, nobody knows who she is. Is that really a sex toy, though?
Posted: 25 Jul 2015 05:46 AM PDT His name is Idoko Nicholas Inalegwu and he was a medical student of Benue State University, Makurdi. He died recently in an unexplained accident. His friends believe he committed suicide because he had fallen into heavy depression after receiving news of his withdrawal from medical school after spending 10 years. According to Benue.com, after the student died, medical students of the school took his coffin and deposited it at the office of the vice chancellor in protest, blaming the school's action for his death. See the photos after the cut... Idoko was withdrawn for failing a haphazardly organised resit exam that has bedevilled medical students in the institution over the years. Speaking under anonymity in a telephone conversation, one of the students said they believe that Idoko took his own life because he couldn't bear the news that his 10 years in medical was in vain. "He had been talking about it, that he wish he died a painless death. The school have finished him. There is no where in the world that a medical student is withdrawn after spending 10 years." He said.
After spending 12 years without graduation, that many of the students in the medical school have become disillusioned, frustrated, depressed and some have attempted suicide due to the stagnation and irregularities but the school management was continuously adamant about the psychological effects of their long stay in medical school. The students, after an altercation at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital mortuary, obtained the coffin of their dead colleague, marched to the VC's office, vowing not to leave until their grievances which bother around the haphazard conduct of exams, manipulation of results, withdrawals and accreditation, are resolved. The students this morning, blocked the Gboko-Makurdi Highway causing a congestion of traffic. They also burned tyres, carrying placards demanding that their Vice Chancellor address them. They accused the VC and provost of paying a deaf ear to the predicaments of the medical students in the school over the years. Source: Benue.com

Timaya denies rape, says US-based accuser is blackmailing him Posted: 25 Jul 2015 04:56 AM PDT So I have reached out to Timaya to hear his side of the story and he denies rape. Speaking exclusively with LIB, Timaya said it was consensual sex and the girl is now blackmailing him. Timaya admitted that he hooked up with the girl (pictured above) in his Atlanta hotel, but says she agreed to the sex. He said the girl, who he has been talking to for about a year, contacted him when she found out he was in the US for his tour and bugged him to see him. He told her where he was and she came to see him. He said from the minute she entered the room, she started filming him. He said after they finished having sex, the girl continued filming him and began asking him questions. He said she asked him if he enjoyed the sex and he said yes, then she asked him if she could follow him to his show and he said no that he's working...but that she could come later and he would tell his people to let her in. She then told him that they didn't use a condom, what if she gets pregnant? Timaya said he told her that he didn't want another baby, that he just got a baby. Timaya said she continued asking him questions until he became very suspicious and dragged her phone from her. That was when he realized that the girl had been filming him the whole time. He said he deleted the photos/video recordings and asked her what her intentions/plans were? He gave her back her phone and then realized that for Iphones, you have to delete twice before it will be completely wiped off. He then asked her for the phone and she refused to give it to him so he called hotel security. The hotel security came to the room and asked the lady why she was filming Timaya and she said it was nothing serious, just for fun. Timaya asked the hotel security to remove the girl from his room but only after the lady has deleted the video recordings. The hotel security advised Timaya to let the girl go, that if she calls the police and tells them he's holding her hostage, it's a crime in the US. That was how he let her go. Timaya said at no point did she tell security that she had been raped when he called security on her. And after she left, she began calling to threaten him, saying she would mess him up and ruin his career for taking things far and calling security on her. He said she called him again demanding for money to take herself to the hospital. He said he left money by the reception for her and she came to collect it. Then she called again to harass him. When she continued harassing and threatening him, he began begging her because she'd already called someone in Nigeria that he was close to accusing him of rape. She told the dude that for her to keep quiet, Timaya has to pay her $50,000 or she will publish their recordings. He said he was begging her to stop the blackmail and not because of any rape. He said when the girl refused to stop, he changed his US number, blocked her on Whatsapp, and instagram so she could no longer reach him for bargain and that was when she created the account on instagram to carry out her threat.
Photos of Barack Obama in Kenya in 1988, 1992, 2006 Posted: 25 Jul 2015 03:55 AM PDT President Barack Obama has visited his father's homeland a few times in the past; in 1988, 1992, 2006 before his visit yesterday. Why I allowed Abacha arrest me - Obasanjo Posted: 25 Jul 2015 03:00 AM PDT Former President Obasanjo has disclosed reasons why he allowed former head of state, Sani Abacha to arrest him in March 1995 for allegedly conspiring abroad against the Abacha regime, despite many opportunities to escape and accept an offer of political asylum by the US. Leadership reports Obasanjo was among the opposition lights that were against the regime of the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, who ordered their arrest, trials and sentences but spared their lives due to international pressure. Abacha was the most senior military officer in the illegal contraption called Interim National Government led by Chief Ernest Shonekan after the military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, was forced to resign over the historic annulment of the June 12 June, 1993 election won by Moshood Abiola, who later died in the military gulag. In his newest controversial memoir, 'My Watch', he narrated his opposition to the Abacha regime which led him to the formation of National Unity Organisation which he intended to use to force Abacha to quit power. According to his narrative, Obasanjo had been meeting with some leading politicians and non-politicians in every part of the country on the need to free the country from the jackboot of Abacha whom he said, "was so much below average as an officer that no serious attention was paid to him until he was made to announce the coup. "I was not in doubt that Abacha would attempt to silence me. This was clear from his apparent ambition for life presidency of Nigeria in insatiable appetite for corruption; his looting directly from the Central Bank; his need to silence everyone that could oppose him in any form; his actions towards my close friends and associates and his close surveillance of me by his security both within and outside Nigeria."Obasanjo recalled how during his visit to Kenya for the funeral of the father of the opposition leader, Raila Odinga, where the Nigerian Embassy officials wrote a report indicting him, stating that "since Odinga was in opposition to the government of Kenya when he died, I had gone to Kenya to create problems for the Kenyan government by supporting the opposition, and the Nigerian government should restrain me from causing great problems between Nigeria and Kenya." Narrating further, Obasanjo said, "Rumours about Abacha taking action against me started to spread and ring louder and louder. I had no fear because I had done nothing to cause me fear or anxiety. I was about my life and my business unperturbed."Source: Leadership |
