Buhari will reduce petrol to N40/L - Tam David-West says

Former Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tam David-West, in a telephone conversation with Vanguard said Buhari will reduce the current fuel price which is N87 to about N40 per litre when he becomes president.
"I want to assure you that by the time he takes over, petrol will be dispensed at N40 per litre. This is possible and he has the credibility to make it work. The major assignment of the president-elect when he's eventually inaugurated is to restore confidence to the industry. As military head of state, he dealt with the Federal Executive Council with the tenets of democracy. Buhari will build new refineries to make petroleum products available for the masses. No responsible government will allow the masses to suffer. He will strengthen the refineries within a year. It is possible as we won't spend any amount in setting up a green field refinery. We already have a blueprint as we shall use what we have to get what we want." He said

Alison-Madueke denies that six countries turned down her asylum request

This evening Sahara Reporters published a blockbuster report they got from Business Council for Africa (BCA) claiming that Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been denied asylum by six countries where she had so far applied. The report claims she's looking for a country to run to before Gen. Buhari takes over as president because she's scared she might be probed or jailed.

But reacting this evening, Alison-Madueke, through the Group Public Affairs GM of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, said there's absolutely nothing of such happening. She said she has no intentions of either seeking asylum anywhere in the world or even relocating from Nigeria. Read the Sahara Reporters/BCA report after the cut...

No fewer than six countries have already refused to grant an asylum request by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, the Business Council for Africa (BCA) said in its just-released monthly report, noting that about US$ 1 trillion is the latest estimated figure of the looting of the Nigerian treasury between 1960 and 2005 alone.
The report, dated March 2015, focused extensively on Nigeria's general elections.  It said the notorious Minister, whose impunity is known to have been closely-protected by President Goodluck Jonathan, will be coming under the microscope for the first time in her Ministerial career.
"Given her reputation, it comes as no surprise to learn that 6 countries have already refused to grant her asylum to live in their countries as she now wishes to leave Nigeria at the earliest possible opportunity," it said.
BCA recalled President-elect Muhammadu Buhari lamenting that the rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption, one where stealing is not corruption but a way of life, and that his administration will pursue all public offices and individuals who are believed to be guilty of corruption.
It observed that despite an earlier promise, it is now understood that Buhari's anti-corruption fishing net will include Ministers currently serving under President Goodluck Jonathan.  Alison-Madueke's departure from Nigeria is likely to be followed by several other PDP elders, party members and supporters as well as some former Government officials, as Buhari's anti-corruption drive will be far-reaching.
"It will be very interesting to learn in the coming months exactly how far back in Nigeria's history his administration will go in the pursuance of those who have robbed Nigeria of US$ 1 trillion, which is the latest estimated figure of theft from the Nigerian treasury between the period 1960-2005. Given that President Jonathan's administration is considered the most corrupt of any of its predecessors, that figure is going to be considerably magnified, but whether the new President will wish to pursue former Heads of State is a matter of interest and considerable debate to Nigerian observers. It is this subject that is primarily responsible for Buhari's success in winning the election as well as his campaign promises to eradicate Boko Haram, revive the economy and rebuild Nigeria to make its position as the number one country in Africa.
While BCA agreed that the March/April 2015 were "the most credible elections in Nigeria's history", it said they could not be called the most incorruptible.
On the contrary, it referred to them as the worst because of the amount of money that the PDP so freely and openly spent on trying to secure the re-election of Mr. Jonathan.
"The stories and reports from throughout the 36 States of the amount of money distributed by the PDP to elders, rulers, church leaders, unions and youth leaders amongst others in an endeavour to favour the voters towards the PDP has backfired badly," the report said. 
BCA said that if the 2011 elections were considered bad, the 2015 elections will undoubtedly go down as the most corrupt in Nigeria's history, certainly since 1999, as the amount of money being distributed as bribes primarily by the PDP so very openly would readily confirm.
It reported that since November when campaigning began, President Jonathan and General Buhari during their travels made no fewer than 109 promises of what they intend to achieve if given the mandate in the presidential election.

Statement from Oyo Governorship candidate who allegedly removed transformer he donated to community because he lost

This morning, we read that the PDP governorship candidate in Oyo state, Teslim Folarin, allegedly removed a transformer he donated to a community after he lost in the election. (read here). Well. he just released a statement saying it's not true. Read below...
It is with sadness that I learnt of a particular incident which purportedly took place in the Sabo area of Ibadan on Sunday. I understand that a transformer which I had donated to the community was the subject of controversy between the youths of the area and some leaders with either side accusing the other of trying to sell the transformer. The PDP youths in the area subsequently took the transformer to a safe place within Sabo area itself pending an amicable resolution which I understand was resolved by the leaders of the community.
Fact; I was not aware of this incident until this morning when I was woken up with headlines all over the internet that I had taken back the transformer because I had lost an election. It is instructive to note that no media house had even contacted me to find out the truth.

I have since contacted members of Sabo community and they confirmed that the matter has been resolved.

Which brings me to the worrying conclusion that a well orchestrated and sophisticated campaign of calumny has begun against my person as a precursor to the 2019 elections. I would advice my supporters to take heart and remain peaceful as this is only one in a long line of attacks that I will expect from enemies of my progress.

For now it is a time for healing and introspection, we have had a long campaign and everyone needs to rest and thank God for his or her life before asking God to prolong our lives to the said 2019.

I thank the good people of Oyo state for your continued support.

US doctors discover a black woman in Maryland with two vaginas

According to media reports, doctors in Maryland, US, found a woman with a very unusual condition; she was born with two vaginas. The woman, described as black, has the vaginas side-by-side but only uses one - for sex. The other one, she's never used before, so that one is still considered a virgin. The lady told doctors that she menstruates out of both vaginas during her period.

Doctors performed a full medical exam on the woman and determined that both vaginas were fully functional and both or them lead to her single uterus, according to a report by MediaTakeOut. Aside from having two vaginas, everything else in the woman's anatomy is the same. See the photo - here

10 Nigerians reportedly killed in xenophobic attacks in South Africa

10 Nigerians are feared dead after angry South Africans launched a xenophobic attack on African migrants in Johannesburg on Friday April 10th. According to reports, 5 Gabonese, 10 Somalis and 5 Congolese students were also killed with some of their bodies set ablaze during the attack.

According to reports, the South Africans say their anger is that black migrants from other African countries are taking all the jobs available to young men in their country, leaving them, the citizens jobless, and slowly taking over their economy.

In a related development, 5 Africans migrants in South Africa were killed in yet another string of xenophobic attacks in Durban today April 14th. The South African police is currently patrolling the city to avert further attacks on shops owned by immigrants from other African countries. Malawian government have concluded plans to repatriate its citizens in South Africa following the increased rate of xenophobic attacks.

North Korea's First Lady, Ri Sol-j, has been spotted out in public for the first time in 2015. The last time she was seen in public was in December 2014 at a ceremony commemorating the death of her husband's father, Kim Jong-il.

Ri Sol-J joined her husband, Kim Jong-un and other senior officials at a football game celebrating Kim's grandfather's birthday recently. North Korea's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, carried a picture of the smiling couple on its front page, so everyone knows she's alive and well.. :-)

The 42 year old marathon runner, who has finished marathons on seven continents twice, achieved this feat recently. She placed the Nigerian flag on the North Pole, in Alaska. My encounter with a Trigger happy policeman today - LIB reader shares story & pics

A LIB reader tells a story of a near fatal encounter between two police officers in Lagos this morning and how he was caught in the middle. He also shared photos. Read below...
The usual hustle and bustle of Lagos was the order of the day as i boarded Ikeja bus from igando area of Lagos state this morning. Unknown to me our bus driver was a police officer who disguised by putting on a mufti. As we approached abule-odu area along Idimu road, the bus i was in clashed with a private car and there was a little dent as you would expect, our driver didn't wait but the private car owner started looking for ways to manipulate so we pleaded with our driver to wait to avoid loss of life.(it's better resolving the issue rather than losing lives) Immediately our driver stopped, the driver of the private car came down with a gun and started harassing our driver who immediately identified himself as a police officer also.
This i guess didn't go down well with the other person who said (because you are an officer didn't mean you have the right to damage my car) . A fight broke out and we the passengers had to plead with the private car owner holding the gun to calm down but all to noo avail. The next thing i noticed was a sharp pain on my laps followed by the bang of yet another gun shot.

The armed police man had just fired a shot at our driver who luckily dodged the bullet and i have been hit by the ricochet bullet after it hit my front. Everybody had to run for their dear lives but the pain i felt was so much i couldn't. Obviously i was alive and was just scratch by the ricocheting bullet.



The bang of the gun attracted other police men who were attached to the Idimu police station who came and saw that the car owner was their superior and they melted out lots of beating to the other police on mufti. Few minutes later we noticed the whole anger and shouting subsided and they were in a haste to leave as our driver properly identified himself.

They all left leaving their superior and our driver. Obviously something must have happened and we later got to know that our driver was a superior officer attached to the Alausa station in Ikeja but not until he has been giving a beating of his life.

My only joy is that if the bullet had done more damage to my legs or hit me somewhere else that was fatal. They simply would have just walked away as they did.

This our policemen really need to be checked in psychiatrist hospitals before been handed guns.

If I hear! Lol. Drake looked like he was about to throw up after Madonna grabbed his head and kissed him on stage during a performance at Coachella on Sunday night. But now he's saying people should not mistake the expression on his face as disgust. First, his people told TMZ that Madonna was only supposed to dance around him on stage and nothing more so he wasn't the expecting the kiss and that it was the lipstick that made him react like that and not the kiss. Many people didn't believe him so he took to instagram to keep protesting...lol. He shared the photo above on his page and wrote;

New Music: Namkul - Pyar

Ogungbo Lukman, otherwise known as Namkul, has hit the airwaves with a new single entitled Pyar, an Indian word that means love. Produced by Sunny Dee, Pyar is inspired by the love Namkul received while studying at the University of Mumbai, India.

Namkul started his musical career in 2006 as a member of the now defunct Sraeli Sect. The group had a hit single entitled Galatian before each member moved on to pursue their solo careers.


Namkul's debut album, featuring artistes like Bukzy, Xcaper, Emeorla and Denny Zee was released in 2012. This was promptly followed by the video of Beach Party, one of the cuts in the album. The video of Beach Party was directed by Oluyinka Davids' Ifocus Media.
