| Ifeklyne Charity Foundation donates relief materials to IDPs in Jos & Bauchi Posted: 17 Jun 2015 01:17 PM PDT  At the IDPs camp in Zang Commercial Secondary School Bukuru in Jos, which accommodates about one hundred and ten families, totaling seven hundred and twenty six people, the IDP's were radiant in receiving the items with gratitude to the good gesture of the foundation.  The camp director Pastor Darong Mancha who received the items on behalf of the displaced persons, highlighted the basic challenges of the camp to the issue of water, food, health and the need for drugs for the sick IDP's. Mr Mancha posited: "We are grateful to Ifeklyne Charity Foundation and other NGOs that are helpful to the plight of the displaced persons, the camp is gradually reducing due to the integration of some of them with the community through job opportunities creating humanitarian services and missionary works. Food, detergents, drugs is of great essence, and at the moment we have a fifty-year-old woman who has kidney problem and is currently on dialysis. She needs about six million naira for transplant. And when they get sick most times drugs is a big issue, that is why we can only thank God and continue to pray for organizations like yours to continually help the displaced person's until they finally find succor". Stating the reasons for the humanitarian work embarked upon by Ifeklyne Charity Foundaton, Mr Ifeaka Innocent Ogbolime says; "It is inline with our policy as a foundation to identify with people that are displaced, traumatized or less privileged in the society, trying to meet their immediate needs and see how we can give them hope, because we believe once there is life there is hope and we are all Nigerians irrespective of any region of the country we belong, that is why we came all the way from Lagos to Jos and Bauchi to give out food items and materials to the IDPs in identifying with their plight". The representative of the IDPs in Bauchi Mr Musa Shehu who is from Gwoza, one of the towns worst hit by incessant attacks from Boko Haram echoes the situation. "Boko Haram have killed our families, abducted our women and children and have rendered us homeless, we miraculously found our way to Bauchi, we are in need of accommodation, we are striving with insufficient food, the houses we stay here in Turum we rent to the tune of N150, 000, N100, 000 and N50, 000 respectively, we have families from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa at this camp and we have about 56 households, approximately 400 individuals. We are grateful to Ifeklyne Charity Foundation for bringing these items by themselves from Lagos, because most of our leaders that are supervising food materials donated divert it for their personal use." Bantala remains in a critical condition in intensive care, Express UK reports.  Her mother, Ida, 49, revealed today how her eldest daughter was "so excited" about the upcoming birth and had already bought some clothes for her baby. The mother-of-four said: "She was excited. She bought the baby's clothes and everything. "Today she lost her baby. She was in pain and she was crying. "She's in hospital doing OK but lost the baby this morning and is so upset. She was happy. She wanted the baby. "I didn't know who the baby's father was." Ms Bantala was attacked on a patch of grass yards from the entrance to Osprey House, a block of flats on the Peckham estate where she has lived since 2001. A 40 year-old neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: "I came home from work and saw two guys running off. I didn't know what had happened until I saw her lying on the floor. She was on the floor in distress, crying. She said she had been kicked in the stomach. I helped her up and she thought she was bleeding so I helped her to my toilet." Source: Express UK |
| Saraki receives agency responsible for allowances of Assembly members, releases statement Posted: 17 Jun 2015 12:16 PM PDT  At the meeting, the Chairman of RMAFC, Engr. Elias Mbam denied the media reports, stating that each lawmaker is entitled to N506, 600 wardrobe allowance per annum. A press statement from Senator Saraki on the matter after the cut ... President of the Senate, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki today warned government agencies adamant of not remitting Federal Government revenue to the Federation account saying government will no longer condone such mismanagement act. Senator Saraki said this when he received the Chairman of Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Engr. Elias Mbam and his team in Abuja that non-compliance by agencies of government has brought major setback in the processes of governance. He reiterated the support of the Senate in bringing back justice to any erring agency that indulges in diverting government revenue to illegal channel adding, "Monetary revenue and allocation is a serious challenge to our economy. Though, diversification of economy is very important but is not an overnight issue. We must block every leakage in government revenue. "We made campaign promises to Nigerians and we must fulfill all our pledges. It cannot be business as usual. We will do everything within our capacity to elevate the living standard of Nigerians." Senator Saraki also cleared air on the N8.64billion bogus wardrobe allowance to lawmakers as reported in the media, saying the Commission is charged with fixing of remunerations to public office holders and advise the media to be more accurate in their reporting. Earlier, the RMAFC Boss, Mbam said the agency have always enjoyed cordial relationship with the National Assembly while calling for continued working partnership with the view to enhance their effectiveness. Mbam condemned the recent media report that exaggerated the wardrobe allowances of Senators and members of the House of Representatives saying, that wardrobe allowance is 25 percent of the basic salary which when broken down amounts to N506, 600 per legislator, per annum. He advised that the agency operates a functional website where information concerning the day-to-day activities of the agency is published. | PDP Disowns Group Over Unauthorized Statement On Buhari Posted: 17 Jun 2015 09:41 AM PDT  The attention of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to a press statement by a group parading as PDP Media Watchdog and purporting to be working within and in the interest of our great party. This group is absolutely unknown to the PDP and has no connection whatsoever with our party at any level, neither is the content of their statement a reflection of the position or stance of the party.For the avoidance of doubt, our great party has not authorized this group to use its name, acronym or logo to issue statements or make public pronouncements on any matter and we caution those behind them to henceforth desist from such immediately. The PDP therefore distances itself from the embarrassing statement by this group wherein it called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign and went ahead to use offensive and denigrating language on the person and office of the President of our great country. This is completely unacceptable and against the posture of the PDP to engage only on robust and credible opposition while constructively offering alternatives to the programmes and policies of the APC-led government, preparatory to our return to power in the next four years. We note with dismay that the attitude of this group is a direct consequence of the approach adopted by the APC in denigrating and insulting our immediate-past President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. Though we know that former President Jonathan suffered such fate in the hands of the APC, we shall not repay them in the same coin as such is not part of our tradition and value as a party. Furthermore, recall that the PDP had earlier informed the public and the media that only statements issued by the National Chairman, the National Secretary, the National Publicity Secretary or any other officer of the party authorized by the National Working Committee (NWC) should be regarded or reported as the position of the PDP on any matter. In this regard, any group or individuals seeking to use the identity of the PDP on any issue should approach the leadership for authorization. "He has been around this community for the past four years. He did not seem to have any mental problem. "The police once came to chase out some homeless people, but they left him. The video then shows the prisoner - dressed in orange jumpsuit - hanging lifelessly in the middle of the desert. At the end of the video, an ISIS member said they killed the man because he was working as a spy for Iragi military. |
| Rivers State Government to reintroduce boarding schools Posted: 17 Jun 2015 08:46 AM PDT  Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured the people of the state that he will reintroduce boarding schools with up to date facilities to improve the standard of education in the state. The governor spoke at the Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokuta in Obio / Akpor Local Government Area on Wednesday after he paid an unscheduled visit to the school. He regretted the dilapidated state of facilities in most schools in the state, saying that his administration will select pilot schools across the state for upgrade as model schools. Governor Wike particularly decried the condition of the Government Girls Secondary School ,Rumuokuta where all the laboratories and other facilities were allowed to rot by the immediate past administration. He directed the immediate construction of a fence around the school and the demolition of illegal structures within the property of the school. The governor also directed the construction of internal roads in the school, saying that the school will serve as a pilot institution in the new boarding school policy. He said : " We are going to start the development of model boarding schools across the state. Our intention is to develop a standard system that will enhance learning for our children. "The development of model boarding schools will be done in phases within the limit of the state's resources. In all the schools , we shall have standard laboratories, libraries , proper fences for security of students and comfortable classrooms". Highpoint of the governor's unscheduled visit to the school was the interactive session he held with students of the school. Every quarter you go, you hear people mumbling about the ministerial list like as if once the list is out, our problems as a nation will be solved. I ask, are these mumblings because we are truly eager to see the new government kick into action and begin to address our numerous problems or because guys are arranging their hookups and connections. I am of the opinion that who makes the list or not is not as important as what they plan to bring to the table because that's what will guarantee the change we are all looking for. |

| Police shoot dead white tiger that killed a man in Georgia after flood water freed zoo animals Posted: 17 Jun 2015 07:52 AM PDT   The man, 43 year old Otar Tsukhishvili, was mauled to death when he entered a warehouse where the tiger was hiding after escaping from the zoo. The man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries and his throat slit. Doctors were unable to save him.That's the tiger above. A hyena is said to still be on the loose, causing serious panic amongst residents in Tbilisi. |

The men even wrote down their name so she can interview them on first come first serve basis. The police had to be called in to disperse the men after they refused to leave. Lol.
