ISIS beheads another American journalist, Steven Sotloff

ISIS released a brutal video today showing the beading of a second U.S journalist, 31 year old Steven Sotlof. Sotloff had appeared in another video where U.S Journalist James Foley was killed two weeks ago (left. Sotloff pictured right at the execution scene). And it looks like Sotloff was killed by the same executioner who killed Foley on August 19th. He had same British accent and before beheading Sotloff, the terrorist said;
"I'm back Obama, and I'm back because of your arrogant foreign policy towards the Islamic State, because of your insistence on continuing your bombings on Mosul Dam, despite our serious warning. So just as your missiles continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people."
Sotloff disappeared while reporting in Syria a year ago. He worked for Time, Foreign policy & others

Kaduna records first case of Ebola

According to a report by Premium Times, a 19 year old student of Law at Ahmadu Bello University has been diagnosed with the deadly Ebola virus in Kaduna.

PT reports that the PRO of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH, Bilyaminu Umar, confirmed the case yesterday Monday September 1st when contacted via phone; saying that the student was diagnosed at ABUTH, Shika, Zaria.
"Yes, there was a case of a suspected Ebola patient. He is with the Faculty of Law, ABU, Zaria and will be placed on isolation. I am out of town, but will confirm details on my return from a trip." he said

Big Brother Africa postponed due to fire incident at BBA house in SA

Big Brother Africa Hotshots which was supposed to begin this Sunday 7th September has been postponed indefinitely after a fire incident at the BBA House in Jo'burg, South Africa. Below is a press release from M-Net.
"M-Net and Endemol SA advise that due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother house on 2 September 2014, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday (7 September) as scheduled. The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so." Continue...

At this stage M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, however as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available.  Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa's biggest reality show will continue.

What's the true situation in Bama? Did soldiers really conquer Boko Haram?

This is quite confusing. The Nigerian military and the presidency is claiming that Boko Haram didn't capture Bama yesterday, which is contrary to what many media sources including Sahara Reporters, AIT, Channels, BBC and Punch are reporting. According to Nigerian military, the Nigerian Armed Forces chased out Boko Haram from Bama town yesterday and even killed 59 insurgents but according to Punch today, I80 people were killed yesterday during the battle with the insurgents. 

They said the spokesman of the youth vigilante in the town, Barr. Jubrin Gonda, made this revelation. And according Channels TV, residents said the insurgents have gained control of the town. Witnesses say after the initial military intervention in repelling the attack. The sect members re-grouped and launched a successful attack on the town which they say is presently under the control of the sect.

A military officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the military, says the soldiers on ground did their best in repelling the first attack but ran out of ammunition as there was no reinforcement for subsequent operation.
"I can confirm to you that the soldiers on ground did their best in repelling the first attack but we ran out of ammunitions and it will not be a surprise if they have eventually taken control of the town
"We needed immediate reinforcement but nothing came and I can categorically tell you that there is sabotage somewhere," the army officer said.
He said the foot soldiers were willing to end the insurgency but lacked needed support.
Report says the insurgents also launched an attack on Mongonu town which also has a military barracks like that of Bama.
The Bama military barracks last year suffered attack by the dreaded sect members, as part of the barracks was vandalised during the attack.
At the moment, Madagali in Adamawa State, as well as Gwoza, Pulka and now Bama of Borno State are under the control of the dreaded sect members the Boko Haram.
President Goodluck Jonathan had in July requested for immediate approval of one billion dollars external borrowing by the National Assembly to tackle insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria's north-east.
In a letter to the Senate, read by the President, David Mark, President Jonathan said the money would be used to upgrade the equipment of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
President Jonathan stressed that there was an urgent need to upgrade the equipment, training and logistic of the country's Armed Forces and Security services to enable them confront the serious threat posed by Boko Haram sect more forcefully.
The loan has not been approved.

My ex-boyfriend and I had a conversation yesterday about the reason he dumped me four years ago to marry another girl he'd started dating about two years after we started dating. My ex and I started dating in 2008, but by early 2010 he met another woman who he married nine months later. He broke up with me just four months before the wedding. I was so hurt and devastated that for three years I would not give another man a chance. I didn't have closure because I was tormented by why he chose another woman over me. Eventually we had the conversation yesterday after we met at a mutual friend's wedding on Saturday. What he told me was shocking. He said he loved me more but decided to marry the other lady because she earned more than I did. I was earning N85k at the time while the lady was earning N250k. He figured an extra N165k was enough reason to marry her. How is this even a reason to marry? Are some men this small minded? Is this a genuine reason or he just said it to throw me off? I wanted closure but this has made me more confused.

Chris Brown pleads guilty to misdemeanor assault charges in D.C

Chris Brown was in court today and according to reports, he accepted a plea deal in his Washington D.C. assault case.
Chris Brown pleaded guilty, and telling the judge he just wants this case to go away so he can go on tour. Brown had been charged with misdemeanor assault for punching a man in the face outside his tour bus last October. The judge sentenced him to time already served. Brown apologized in court ... saying the case had derailed his career for the past year. Chris Brown's girlfriend Karrueche was also in the courtroom lending moral support." TMZ reports...

Cecilia Ibru's daughter, Vivi Ibru, in divorce drama

The 8 year old marriage between Vivi, the daughter of defunct Oceanic Bank CEO, Cecilia Ibru and her husband, Aleksander Stankov, has been dissolved by the court, Encomium magazine, reports.
The high court of Imo state presided over by Honorable Justice Ngozi Opara severed the marital vows that existed between the two once-upon-a-time lover after Aleksander approached the court to seek for the dissolution of his marriage to Vivi who is the mother of his three children.
For sometime now, Vivi and Aleksander have been staying apart with Aleks accusing his wife of refusal to play the dutiful and humble wife. No one took them serious at the initial stage until the period Vivi moved out of their matrimonial home with the couple's three children. All entries from Family and friends to reconcile the two parties didn't work as their dream of a beautiful future together came crashing down." Continue...

Vivi however is not taking the divorce issue likely. Immediately, she got notice her marriage has been dissolved at the instance of her husband, she went to court to obtain a restraining order baring her estranged husband from coming close to the children. Her prayers were reportedly granted at the Principal Registry of the Family Division in London. Her claim was Aleks is violent and assaults her at will.

To counter her claim, Aleksander rushed to obtain his own order granting him access to the children which he also got with the condition that Vivi and her mother, Mrs Cecilia Ibru must be there anytime Alek makes contact with the children at an agreed date and time.

As the legal fireworks rage, Aleksander moved to Nigeria and filed for another divorce in Imo state, Nigeria and ultimately obtained dissolution of the marriage which is what Vivi is challenging in court now. She claimed in her own petition that she was not aware of the case filed by her husband. She is in the court of appeal to overturn the judgement of the lower court in the dissolution of the marriage, maintaining it was obtained by fraud. Presently, Vivi is in London while the fight to reverse the judgement, especially the position which she gave her estranged husband the custody of the children continues.

Aleksander Stankov and Vivi got married at Our Savior's church, lagos in 2006. Vivi's mother, Cecilia Ibru pulled heavyweights to the lavish wedding of the year and eight years on, the union has packed up. On Friday August 29th 2014, we sent a message to Vivi who is presently in London for her reaction. She didn't reply till we went to the press.

Of course the racy pic caused a lot of backlash with many followers suggesting she is probably intimate with her dog. When challenged over the pic, Madalina said;
"He didn't eat the bra, he only nibbled it a bit, and then got bored. Envy is a sin, but honesty covers it. So I honestly envy this fluffy little thing.".

The Agony Of a Nigerian Fat Girl

"The Fat girl ends up miserable year after year. The society has neglected the fuller woman. This has resulted to fat girls feeling depressed, left-out and downcast. The average big lady spends most of their years in solitude, angry at themselves, the society and even their shadow. Many are being laugh at, ridiculed, jilted, abused and sent back indoors where they are depressed and even get fatter. The society is such a big nightmare for this group of people which is saddening." Continue...
When they go for shopping which is a very beautiful and fun experience for almost every lady. But for the fat girl, it's a rather sober experience. In many cases, sizes are deceptive to the extent that a size 12 dress will be tagged size 18. She has to through every cloth in the store before she finds what fits her. Sometimes, she ends up not seeing any flattering outfit. Again, the sadness begins.

Then she turns to her tailor to make a good dress for her. A beautifully styled dress she saw in a magazine page. The tailor makes it, it's still not flattering. Sarcastically, the tailor says, "I find it difficult sewing for fat girls, it is too hard". Again, the sadness begins.

Her soon-to-be-married best friend calls, "Wendy, will you be one of my bridesmaids"? "Don't answer of course you will". She is excited."Will call you up later so we go choose the dresses with the other girls". Her heart drops. Shopping bridesmaids with the other girls, she knows will be a huge nightmare because she is the "fat girl". While shopping, The saleslady says, "We don't have your size, so here's the biggest we do have," and she gives it a try. Of course, it never fits. Her underarm fat is spilling over, her back fat is folding over the waist, and she can't get the thing to slip over her butt. But it looks beautiful on everyone else! And she is left feeling guilty for being more than a handful. Again, the sadness begins.

At NYSC orientation camp. The fat girl is handed her dress bag. She opens it. The kaki trouser is as small as a size 6's whereas she is a size 18. "Ma'am, dis kaki is too small for me, can I get a larger size", she says to the platoon mistress. The lady murmurs, "Exchange with someone else". (lol, we've all experienced this). And she looks around, no one has her size. Most of other corpers, she may ask will reply saying, "NOO!!! I no carry orobo size". Everyone laughs at her.  Again, the sadness begins.

Every fat lady go through post-traumatic dress disorder. It is the condition that occurs when a person, usually female, feels disappointed and traumatized while leaving a clothing store. It could happen when she views old photographs and asks herself "What the hell was I wearing???" It could also be the traumatic stress she feels between the moment she post a picture on the Internet and the moment somebody likes it or responds. Fat people go through this stress all the time and the society is not being fair at all. 80% of Heart-related illnesses which fat people suffer are because they spend most of their years depressed, not just about their size but because of social prejudicial.

What makes a fat girl traumatized while shopping?

1.       She finds it difficult to buy good fitting outfits?
2.       She feels upset when she can't find cute cloths in her size.
3.       The fashion industry ignores the fat girls.
4.       Shopping for fat girls is frustrating.
5.       It is difficult to find well-fitted outfits for fat girls.

Politicians have spoilt our actors with money & cars"- Zeb Ejiro says

In an interview with Yes! magazine this week, ace movie producer, Zeb Ejiro made some outrageous claims. He said Nigerian female politicians give money and buy cars for Nollywood actors, while male politicians give money, buy cars and homes for Nollywood actresses. He said that this has made the stars disregard those who helped them become the stars that they are today - producers. He also claimed that politicians are the ones giving money to actresses to make movies. What he said below..
"There are a lot of people who never dreamt of being what they are today. Suddenly, they found themselves there. People are running after them. I need to see you and all that. They start seeing themselves above god. That's where they get it wrong. The movie industry did not start with the stars that are there today. It started with others. When we were talking, we mentioned a name – somebody you saw some days ago in Ikeja trekking or something. If somebody had told that person that at one time, this is how it's gonna be, the person will not believe." Continue. It gets more interesting
"Where they get it wrong is that they see themselves above god, they see themselves above the industry. People who suffered to make them who they are, they dump those people, they don't respect them. You are doing something today, maybe a child's naming ceremony, marriage or whatever, they don't attend. They don't come, they don't need you anymore! Because the politicians are giving them so much money, the politicians are buying them cars; female politicians are buying the male stars cars, homes and what have you. The male politicians are buying the female ones whatever they want. So, suddenly, they don't need the producer anymore. They can even make bigger movies than you now because one politician will give them N100 million and you are looking for N15 million to do a blockbuster. So, suddenly, they find out that they are bigger than you. Not just you; they are bigger than the industry. They start to equate themselves with god and forget that these politicians will only use you while you are the reigning star. They will flock around you for that period of time. Immediately somebody else springs up, they will dump you and go to that person. I know a lot of these stars that are now calling me to say Zeb, I heard you are doing something, you are not calling us. Why? Because they are not getting jobs anymore; they are not relevant anymore; the politicians are not giving them money anymore, because the politicians have now seen younger people that they are frolicking with. I think the banes of the movie industry are the Nigerian politicians. That's the truth!" he said

Ejiro also spoke on his marriage, saying the success and failure of a marriage lies with the man and not with the woman and that for the devil to attack a marriage, he comes through the woman and so every man has to be on guard to take the devil out of his wife once he comes attacking so that their marriage can last

"I was arguing with with my friends one day and I said something. I said if a marriage fails, it is the man. Not the woman. When I said this, my friends said 'Hey Zeb, which one is your own sef?' Leave this tin! A marriage, if it fails, succeeds, it is the woman. I said no! I asked a simple question- who is the head of the family? They said the man. Who is the person that God has given authority? They said it is the man. Who is the driver of the marriage? The said it is the man. Who did God give the power and said You are the head, make the decisions of this marriage? They said it is the man and I said so, why are you arguing with me? You the man; if you are running your business and your business is crashing, wont you find a way to make that business to work? When it comes to your wife and you think she is so terrible, why can't you apply the same thing here?
