Hussaini tells us how cattle rearing & 5 other reasons will make him and many honest Fulanis to vote Jonathan

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 01:08 PM PDT

Sponsored post. Alhaji Muhammad Hussaini is the Nasarawa state secretary of Meyyiti-Allah (Fulani Pastoralists known as Cattle rearers). A devout muslim, he says he has a conscience and gave us 6 reasons that he and his entire family will vote for President Jonathan despite the fact that he is running against a Fulani man like himself.

1.Cattle Transport: He said the ongoing overhauling of the nation's railway lines has reduced the price of moving each head of cattle from N6000 by regular route but which costs them not more than N1000 through Jonathan's administration trains. Is this not an achievement?

 2.   2. Pasture for Cattle Rearing: Cattle breeders face nightmares and some of them have travelled all the way to Ghana because of acute water shortage. Jonathan's Gurara dam project in Kaduna has ended our fears as the grass is green and the water shortage is greatly reduced.
3.   3. Al-Majiri schools: This Jonathan model education system will help in the near future to half the rising spate of street urchins in the north as the schools would go a long way to tackle the ugly trend.

4.   4. Gave Nasarawa a Federal University:Jonathan's government gave Nasarawa state a Federal University which was never there before among 14 New Universities he built. By 2016 we are expecting  more graduates and this also accord chances to the down trodden in the society who would not afford to travel far.

5.    5. Fulani in Government: Jonathan carried along a lot of key Fulani people despite the distrust between the ordinary Southerner and the Fulanis. Top positions in the PDP Chairman Adamu Muazu, Senator Walid Jibrin, the secretary Board of Trustee, Professor Rufai Ahmed, Dr.Musa Babayo. He is also in good terms with Isa Yuguda, Sule Lamido, Umar Machido.

6. 6.    Awe-Obi-Lafia Road: Jonathan rehabilitated the Awe-Obi-Lafia highway, it was difficult to transport our cattle to the market. Before we lose some heads of cattle as some die in the process of moving them to Lafia due to the bad road or we are force to slaughter others before they die. This has changed already.

Ascon Oil Company releases statement on the Lekki fire today

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 10:40 AM PDT

Ascon Oil released this statement of their official Facebook page. Read below...
Ascon Oil Fire Outbreak: No Life Lost. Fire Contained
The fire incident at Ascon Oil filling station at Lekki Phase 1 this afternoon has been contained. Contrary to earlier speculations, the main building and the reservoirs are unaffected. The incident emanated from a discharge at the point of offloading product from a tanker, engulfing two tankers and some vehicles parked by the road side.
It was an accident compounded by the current fuel scarcity in the country with ASCON OIL being one of the few stations with a reliable steady supply even in times of scarcity. No life was lost to the incident, the pumps are intact and emergency fire service officers were already on site containing the flames as at the time of this report.

ASCON OIL wishes to reaffirm its commitment to serving its customers even in the face of accidents of this nature for which a company of its pedigree is always prepared. Residents and passers-by showed solidarity with the company as they contributed in no small way to contain the flames.

How To Beat Your Wife - By Charly Boy

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 09:41 AM PDT

Article written by Charles Oputa. Read below..
When I look back at my life, and all the stuff I did as a carefree, young and restless youth,  I can't help but shudder at some of my very bad habits. Yes, I was once short-fused; blowing off at the slightest provocation. It was pitiful. Over time I have managed to rid myself of such sad habits but that can't be said for a lot of men some of who, even late in their lives can't still get over it, thereby losing their cool in their homes. No be small thing sha.

Domestic violence is an under reported crime in Nigeria, almost accepted as norm. Some  men feel it's their right, some feel it's always the women who bring out the beast in them, while others will readily admit its a way of stamping their authority in the home. Sadly, many don't see anything wrong with beating their wives. How sad! Yes, am aware there are women who beat up their husbands, but those are in the minority and this piece ain't about them. The most guilty perpetrators are usually men and the victims are mostly their wives and sometimes their children too.

Men abusing women is like a defence and coping mechanism for being or feeling WEAK in other aspects of life, sometimes including deep analog beliefs about masculinity. Men who abuse loved ones tend to blame other things or people for their violent outbursts. In some cases, it is a cycle: "my father abused me and my mom, so, it's  normal".
Society doesn't help either, it ingrains in a man's psyche that macho bullshit; how he should be strong and if he can't exhibit that in his daily public life, it's ok for him to go home and prove his strength.

Abusive men are not limited to a particular status, it ranges from a bricklayer to a CEO or even a President, causing their women to perpetually live in anxiety and fear. Most of them tip-toe around their husbands, not because they respect these men, but because of fear.

A violent man might have grown up in a dysfunctional household but this is still not a reason to be abusive. It is an excuse, and a flimsy one at that.
Some men don't come from humble homes where women are appreciated. Some of us come from homes that expose us to sex, gossip, male macho bullshit. Values for treating women start with where you're coming from, your background. However, beyond these, what fucks most men up is our BIG FAT EGO. It has everything to do with selfishness or overrated feeling of self-importance. QED.
Ego is the source of many negatives in the world. It is the false 'self' that Jesus said we should let die before we can gain everlasting life. Ego craves to be first, but we must be willing to be last. Unconditional love comes with humility, selflessness, abundant generosity, perfect responsibility, fearless confidence.

I no go brag, am not all that, but I dey try. God knows!

Now, for the man who feels trapped in this mad dance with his loved ones and is trying very hard to rid himself of this very terrible habit, do like me. If you start to feel that your fuse is about to burst, try and say nothing, hold it in for a few minutes and relocate yourself to another space, either in your house, or outside. Allow some time to elapse before you express yourself, never talk or let your fist run amok when you're upset; it doesn't make for a good picture.
Even though I have cured myself of my short fuse, i still get tempted from time to time. What works best for me now is silence. I go and lock myself in my room and will never utter a word to my lady until am sure am in control of my faculties. Since many moons ago, I have discovered that this is a very effective option in dealing with a very bad temper.

So next time you are with your woman and you feel like turning her into a punching bag, change the game, beat her with your silence for the period you feel like blowing your fuse. Na my way be that oooooo.
This is just my take sha, how you see the matter my guys?

Durex pushes all the right buttons

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 09:02 AM PDT

After a week of global speculation, Durex has revealed the hugely anticipated smartphone technology that could change our sex lives forever. And it's the off button.

The world's leading sexual wellbeing brand sparked mass speculation on March 3rd by teasing an imminent technological breakthrough in partnership with Siren Mobile to improve people's sex lives around the world.

Hundreds of thousands of people visited the 'Durexlabs' website to find out more, with excitement amplified by global media and social networks.

But in a moving and enlightening video released yesterday (http://youtu.be/wpdd2eBvyXM), couples who volunteered to test the technology, eager to give their love lives an uplift, were surprised to learn the answer lay in a simple switch that had been right in front of them all along – the offbutton.

The video, which has received 765,025views in its first 24 hours, follows some of these beta testers on their emotional journey, highlighting the serious issue that we are becoming enslaved to technology. It has been released alongside a study by Durham University commissioned by Durex, which reveals that pervasive use of technology in relationships is seriously impacting how often we have sex, even cutting intercourse short and causing tensions in relationships.

Researchers from Durham's Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexualities revealed that 40% of those interviewed have delayed sex because of technology, largely smart phones and tablets, with others reported hurrying sexual activity in order to respond to messages. Moreover, a third of the couples interviewed admitted to interrupting sex to answer their phone.  One participant said:"Sometimes I'll be on Facebook and he'll be on a sporting app while we are both in bed; we realise that we are literally sitting in bed together, but living in different worlds."

Ukonwa Ojo, Head of Global Brand Equity at Durex:  "With technology playing such a pivotal role in our personal lives and relationships, we set out to explore how it could be utilised in a positive way to enhance our sex lives, but in doing so we discovered the most effective answer was the simplest.  After consulting countless experts, academic research and endless qualitative interviews, the solution turned out to be a simple one – we should disconnect to reconnect.

"We are encouraged by the response to the campaign and film, particularly as we approach Earth Hour. We hope it will go some way to reconnect couples that have let technology compromise their connection with each other."

Susie Lee, the app entrepreneur and CEO of Siren Mobile, has been a central part of the project's implementation.  Lee said: "Of course, tech can never really replace human interaction. True chemistry comes from intimacy. "So whilst we need our tech – ithas enhanced our lives, enabling us to reconnect with old friends, reach wider social groups and meet new people – weneed to recognize the times and places when social networking doesn't enrich our experience. We really need to learn to focus on each other in the bedroom, rather than on our smartphones or tablets."

Dr. Mark McCormack, Co-Director of the Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexualities at Durham University, comments: "Technology has revolutionised our lives and smart phones are now central to the organisation of romantic relationships, from establishing them to maintaining love and affection when couples are apart."

"What this research reveals and the point the video makes is that technology now consumes our relationships at a much deeper level. It's made its way into the bedroom in more ways than we imagined, often with benefits, but also coming with potentially serious costs to relationships, as it can cause frustration and tension, and encroach on sexual activity."

The research, conducted by Durex in association with Durham University, can be found here: http://dro.dur.ac.uk/14770/

KEY QUOTES AND STATS FROM THE QUALITIATIVE INTERVIEWS:

"When the first iphone was purchased by him I used to call it the third person in our marriage and I hated her with a passion, she used to sit between us, and I really disliked her… it has become a third arm for a lot of people"

"Sometimes I'll be on Facebook and he'll be on a sporting app while we are both in bed; we realise that we are literally sitting in bed together, but living in different worlds."

"I may want sex and he might not be aware of that, because he's distracted on his phone"

"In the last few months, I've tried to have a ban on her using her phone in the bedroom….. We're now trying to use the bedroom for just sleeping and sex."
"She loves her technology I'm not going to lie, she loves her phone. Sometimes it does feel like it's a relationship with her and her phone, she loves her phone and she's never really away from it"
" I've not delayed sex, I've faked an orgasm to speed it up to get back to work."

·         40% (12 of 30) have delayed sex because of technology (most phones, but a couple tablets/laptops)
·         A third (10 of 30) participants have answered their phone during sex

Couple having sex on moving motorbike caught by police after photo went viral

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 08:23 AM PDT

Imagine this! A couple who were photographed having sex on a moving motorbike (is that even possible?) traveling along a public road in India have been caught after a shocked motorist driving behind them took a photo and shared it on Facebook.

The man shared the photo and wrote "Have sex riding a bike ... No one will stop you ... This is Goa ... This broad daylight sex show took place right on the Mandovi bridge on Sunday afternoon. Not a single policeman on the way to stop them. A passer-by happened to click this picture. What do you have to say?"

After the pic went viral, Goa police swung into action and tracked down the couple using their number plate. But I don't even know why they bothered to because when they found the couple, they only fined them 1,000 Rs which is about $15.

'Tie your gele in 2 easy steps', The first ever ready-made pleated gele by Yinka Thomas-Ogboja

Posted: 26 Mar 2015 07:11 AM PDT

For most African women, tying a 'Gele' (head tie) is a difficult ordeal, which discourages them from wearing this lovely piece and promoting our rich culture. The CEO of Opeke, Yinka Thomas-Ogboja, happens to be one of many women who used to face this ordeal prior to an event. It was either they couldn't tie the geles themselves, or dress up took forever because of their struggles with the geles and husbands started to turn red in the face, or they weren't ready to constantly enrich the pockets of makeup/gele artists (no offense). Some even desired to dress traditional to church or certain functions but the headache of headgears was the beginning of abstinence.

All these challenges led to the birth of  Opeke translated "fine girl or "omoge", an indigenous fashion brand aimed at promoting the African culture and beauty. Opeke launched with a signature line called "Asake", already pleated, easy-to-tie, ready-made geles.

 The tutorial video above...

This creative product enables you to tie your gele in less than a minute and yes, people assume you are a pro! Gone are those days when aso-oke was synonymous with dull and unappealing colors, Opeke adds a touch of bright, colorful and fun to their pieces, with the ability to customize pieces to suit the personalities of their clients. They make lovely gele-ebi, asake-ebi, engagement outfits for couples-to-be, gele and ipele collections for women of luxury and style. The good news is that you can pack all your geles to them to "asakerize" or buy from their collections. So you don't have to worry anymore about not being able to tie your geles!

They will soon be launching another product line under Opeke called 'Arewa' and we heard from the grapevine this has to do with beads. Get in touch with them today and make difficult gele tying a thing of the past!
