Wait, a popular female blogger received N240m from Dasukigate?

Posted: 14 Dec 2015 12:00 PM PST

So, social commentator and activist Kayode Ogundamisi tweeted this today...he didn't mention any names but I am now trending on Twitter. Many assume he's talking about me...and you can't blame them really. He said...popular! I'm somewhat popular! He said female.. I'm female...duh! Lol. He said Lagos...I live in Lagos...in a posh place called Banana Island..lol. #Flipsweave! #Just teasing!

So people are reacting and some actually believe it! That PDP or someone in the party gave me N240m? For what? Advert? This was why I didn't want to get politics advert money in the first place o...and but then some of you advised that I do when I asked here and now see the gbege that I have entered...lol.

But seriously for the record...no party registered or unregistered, no human being dead or alive gave me N240m for anything. The only advert I did for PDP was a page background take-over for former president Jonathan... and they asked for the space after I did a page background take-over for APC's Akinwunmi Ambode. (I'm sure you all saw it). The two parties paid me same amount. I had a politics advert rate which I sent to everyone who wanted to advertise on LIB! And it was a few millions ...which some of you followed to chop inside in the giveaway that April...lol. #Kidding!

Anyway, all these bad belle people looking for ways to bring a woman down...like I always say...you can't! Except you're mightier than God! Whether you like it or not, I'm a hardworking young woman who God chose to bless the work of her hand and is using me to bless others. Get over it! I am here to stay! Not going nowhere! *wink*. Make I go find una more news ojare!

Zimbabwe lawmaker charged to court for insulting Grace Mugabe

Posted: 14 Dec 2015 11:45 AM PST

A member of parliament appeared in court on Monday, December 14, for insulting President Robert Mugabe's wife, Grace, during a verbal exchange with another party member.

Justice Wadyajena, 35, was charged with "criminal insult or, alternatively, conduct likely to provoke the breach of peace" when he appeared before magistrate Lindiwe Maphosa in the resort town of Victoria Falls.
Prosecutor Listen Nare told the court that the lawmaker "used abusive or insulting language" against a party member who had a portrait of Grace Mugabe and a slogan calling on party members to rally behind her, emblazoned on his car.

The MP and party member Jimayi Muduvuri were both attending the ZANU-PF annual conference on Victoria Falls.

Wadyajena was quoted in court papers as having told Muduvuri: "You are a fool as well as that mother of yours."
The first lady is referred to as "mother" by the ruling party supporters.

Wadyajena has been linked to a faction of ZANU-PF loyal to Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is seen as Mugabe's heir while Muduvuri, a businessman, is seen as belonging to a group in the party opposed to Mnangagwa's bid to succeed Africa's oldest leader.
Wadyajena was granted $800 bail and is expected to go on trial in January 5.

Why Harpic donated Mobile Toilet to Idi-Araba Community

Posted: 14 Dec 2015 08:31 AM PST

Harpic Battles lack of Functional toilet with donation of mobile toilets to Idi-Araba Community One of the major concerns for a megacity like Lagos is the issue of functional toilet facilities and waste management. One statistics has it that Lagos is home to close to 20 million Nigerians! As a result of this huge population, some citizens defecate in the open in some neighborhood. This nauseating habit has been fingered in the spread of waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhea.

In order to help stop this habit, Harpic in Collaboration with UNIC(United Nations Information Centre) with the support of some government ministries celebrated the World Toilet Day by propagating the need to maintain proper toilet hygiene linking the idea to the world wide theme on Sanitation and Nutrition which was celebrated Worldwide on November 19, 2015.

There was a walk through the Idi-Araba area in Mushin Local Government to create awareness for proper toilet hygiene. After the walk, there was enlightenment on how to maintain clean toilet.
For the citizens and invited guest who converged at Idi-Araba Community School, it was a day to join force to address negative habit of open defecation and Harpic made donation of two mobile toilets to the Idi-Araba community.

RB's Marketing Director, West Africa, Mr. Oguzhan Silivrili who spoke at the Idi-Araba Community and Idi-Araba School Complex, Mushin, Lagos – venue of the event - said the enlightenment becomes necessary because open defecation has a ripple effect to the larger society as it affects the healthy living conditions resulting in increased Child Mortality, Cholera, Diahoerria in addition to its considerable social costs which include loss of dignity or risk of physical attack and sexual abuse. As a result, Nigeria Loses N455bln annually which is 1.3% of the Nigeria's GDP to poor sanitation and hygiene which increases the risk of disease and malnutrition.

Message from the United Nations Secretary General, Dr. Ban Ki Moon was delivered by the UNIC Director, Mr. Ronald Kayanja while a brief pictorial presentation of the Sustainable Development Goals in relation to sanitation/WTD was equally presented.
This day is significant to generate more awareness that open defecation not only has higher costs than any other sanitation practice, it has considerable adverse social impacts. Harpic has undertaken to create proactive awareness on sanitation anchored on the World Toilet Day.

RB's Vision for Nigeria is where people are healthier and live better and RB will continue on making difference by giving Nigerians innovative solutions for healthier lives and happier homes. Harpic, one of RB's power brands has consistently put on the front burner the importance of having access to clean toilet and the potential health implications as well as the vulnerability it poses, especially to Women and Children.

Blame naira fall and bad economy on the last administration- Lai Mohammed

Posted: 14 Dec 2015 06:44 AM PST

Minister of Information Lai Mohammed has asked Nigerians to blame the last administration for the continued fall of the Naira and the current state of the economy. Lai Mohammed stated this in statement he released yeterday December 13th. According to him, some members of the former ruling party turned the CBN into their ATM or piggy banks. He said if the party had won the Presidential election, Nigerians economy would not have survived one more month ...

"Some people still have the temerity to insult a government that is working hard to turn things around for the citizens, who are bearing the brunt of such mismanagement. It is now clear to all Nigerians that if the PDP had won the last general elections, Nigeria's economy would not have survived one more month, considering the battering it received under the immediate past Administration. It is therefore unconscionable that those who should show contrition and humility to avoid public disgrace are the same ones pointing accusing fingers at the Buhari Administration."he said
Lai Mohammed described the comments credited to the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu which stated that 'businesses may collapse in the next six months because the Buhari Administration has mismanaged the economy' as the clearest indication that the PDP and its leaders are still in denial of the massive destruction they inflicted on the Nigerian economy. According to him, Ike Ekweremadu (Senator) complained about the depreciation of the naira without telling Nigerians, who 'dollarized' the Nigerian economy by bribing many individuals and groups with dollars during the last elections, thereby causing a downward drift on the local currency.

Lai added that the Senate deputy President failed to tell Nigerians which government presided over the frenzied mop-up of dollars, either for 'arms – gate' or for slush fund purposes from the CBN to a point where it almost ran out of the hard currency.

He said that though the Buhari Administration met an economy that was in coma, it has refused to use that as an excuse for inaction, hence has been working hard on measures that will turn the economy around and greatly offer relief to Nigerians by lifting millions, not thousands of people out of poverty through a massive social intervention policy.

He further noted that the outcome of the months of hard work will manifest soon in the 2016 national budget that will give succor to millions of Nigerians, who are reeling from the fallout of the mistake of the immediate past Administration which has turned the country into a cash market.

He advised the leaders of PDP and members of the immediate past Administration, who are involved in the emerging cases of looting spree to urgently return to government coffers, the funds they have taken from the treasury.
"They are lucky that Nigerians are not as reckless as they are, otherwise they would not be able to walk around freely; not even to have the confidence challenge the Government which inherited their rot or the citizens suffering the consequences. They looted the billions of naira that were allocated for the fight against insurgency, causing many innocent and patriotic soldiers to die needlessly. Yet, they are not remorseful. They looted the treasury to influence the last elections, doling out money as if it was going out of fashion, yet they have continued in brag. In the latest revelation, a Minister under the immediate past dispensation admitted to sharing 600 million naira to six Chairmen of the Contact and Mobilization Committee of the PDP for the last general elections, 300 million naira to an account given by a former PDP Chairman, 200 million naira to a PDP governorship candidate and 100 million naira to a former PDP Governor. This is just one case out of many, yet these revelations are but a tip of the iceberg of what Nigerians will hear in the days ahead."he added
