Multiple victims shot in San Bernardino regional center by 2 or more gunmen Posted: 02 Dec 2015 12:53 PM PST There are several reports of an active shooter(s) in an Inland regional center in San Bernardino, California, that serves the disabled and needy. Eyewitnesses who finally found a way to escape their offices said about 2 gunmen with masks and bullet proof vests walked into their office and started shooting. Someone called the police and luckily policemen who were training around that vicinity responded. San Bernardino is 60 miles East of Los Angeles. 20 people have reportedly been shot. The ambulance, fire department, SWAT, FBI are all at the location trying to contain it. Update: The 3 suspects have all escaped. They escaped in a black SUV. Story is still developing. |

In an image uploaded to reddit by the boy's dad, the boy penalised his mumr with a fine that is literally out of this world. The image was shared on Reddit via Imgur yesterday by wtrsld, with the caption: "Wife got served a ticket by my son." It has since gone viral , amassing more than 567,000 views. |

Here's the bill the Senate/Nigerian government wants to use to jail social media users. It's "A Bill for an Act to Prohibit frivolous Petitions and other Matters Connected therewith, Sponsored by Senator Ibn Na'Allah, APC, Kebbi South.
"Where any person through text message ,tweets, whatsApp or through any social media post any abusive statement knowing same to be false with intent to set the public against any person and group of persons, an institution of government or such other bodies established by law shall be guilty of an offence and upon conviction, shall be liable to an imprisonment for two years or a fine of N2,000,000.00 or both fine and imprisonment." The bill said it shall be an offence for any petition to be submitted without a sworn affidavit from the law court. |

Sahara Reporters made quite a scary report about the senate plotting to jail irresponsible Social Media users & accused Ben Murray Bruce as one of the senators involved in sponsoring the bill. Young lady killed today at Biafra protest in Onitsha (photos) Posted: 02 Dec 2015 09:03 AM PST A young lady named Nkiruka Anthonia Ikeanyionwu, 21, from Adazi Nnukwu Anambra state and schooling at Fedral College of Education Umunze, Anambra State was unfortunately killed today during the Biafra protest. About 4 Dangote trucks were burnt leading to unrest and unfortunately one person lost her life. Her grieving sister sent in her photos, asking for justice. Deputy general Manager of the Plateau state tourism corporation, Timothy Nyam confirmed in an interview that the lion was killed at the wildlife park as it approached the elephant area. |

FAAN releases statement on MMIA incident, says man caught was attempting to stow away Posted: 02 Dec 2015 08:26 AM PST Earlier today, a man was caught as he approached a plane that was taxiing at MMIA this morning, causing panic (read full story here). In a statement released by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, they said the man wasn't a suspected terrorist but someone trying to stowaway. Read their press statement after the cut... Vigilant Aviation Security staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, today, December 2, 2015, apprehended a man, Mr. Alabibu Olushola, who was attempting to stow away in a taxing aircraft on the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. The culprit was arrested as soon as he scaled the perimeter fence near the moving aircraft and after interrogation by the Avsec staff, he was immediately handed over to the police for further interrogation. The Authority wishes to remind members of the public that access to restricted areas of the airport, including the tarmac and perimeter roads, is prohibited for unauthorized people, including airport staff, who have no business being there. This is more so in view of the present security situation in the country. The Authority will henceforth not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any person, including unauthorized airport staff, who is found loitering around restricted areas of all our airports. She confirmed the adoption which was hush hush to People magazine, gushing about her new bundle of joy. Laila is now sister to 5 year old Louis, who the Oscar winning actress adopted in 2010 from New Orleans. 'When I look at Laila, there's no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here. I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time. Louis spearheaded this whole journey. I knew she was scared, and all I wanted was for her to know Louis and I weren't going anywhere,' She told People magazine. So happy for her! Big congrats! |
Dismissed police officer, 1 other arrested for vandalizing man-hole (photo) Posted: 02 Dec 2015 08:00 AM PST Read the press statement below... In a renewed effort to rid Lagos State of criminals, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad yesterday arrested a dismissed police officer and one other person for vanfalizing and stealing man - hole cover. The suspect, Earnest Young (30),, who co incidentally is a son of a retired Deputy Superintendentbof Police was arrested with his accomplice, Rasheed Tiamiyu, (20), on Eko Bridge around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Young hails from Yala Local Government in Cross Rivers. He was arrested in possession of man – hole covers , vandalized and stolen on the Eko Bridge. Young stated that, he and his accomplice trekked from Ijora Under Bridge to Eko Bridge to steal the man hole cover. He added that they were in search of food when they saw the man – hole cover, which they planned to sell to cart pushers. He explained that his accomplice, Rasheed Tiamiyu, a primary school dropout invited him into the crime, a claim Tiamiyu promptly denied, stressing that, 'Young, rather, was the one who invited him into the crime. 'He insisted " we steal the cover even when I protested that we leave it and that was why the cover was found in his hand. The entire plan was all his idea', ". Tiamiyu maintained that "despite the fact that cover was very heavy, Young insisted in stealing it with the plan to resell it to scrap metal buyers the following day" . 'Both of us work as load carriers in Ijora. We sleep in Ijora park. We had no money to feed ourselves and he requested that go to a party in Isale Eko, and that on our way we would pick up the man – hole cover to sell to cart pushers', Tiamiyu added. Tiamiyu further stated that, he came from Plateau to Lagos in search of work but since he came to Lagos, he has been homeless and struggling to survive as well as living in parks and under bridges. Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olatunji Disu noted that the actions of the suspects posed a great danger to road users, adding that uncovered man – hole can cause accident, particularly at night. He also advised parents to monitor the activities of their wards, warning that Lagos would not be a breeding ground for criminals. The suspects have been charged to court. |
