| Sujimoto, Gold and Charity! Sujimoto supports foundation. Posted: 19 Feb 2015 12:41 PM PST  Sujimoto Group led by the CEO, Sijibomi Ogundele lent their support to the Daniel Ogechi Akujobi Foundation as a sponsor during the foundation's 5th annual charity golf tournament organized by them in partnership with the oldest and most prestigious Ikoyi Club 1938. The event took place on the 7th of February 2015 and is highly rated by the golfing community as the best tournaments held at the Ikoyi Club 1938.  The DOAMF was established in memory of Master Daniel Ogechi Akujobi (1992-2005) He was the first child and only son of his parents. The little patter of feet came eight years after the Akujobi's tied the nuptials.  He was involved in a ghastly motor accident on his way back to school and he died a few days after the incident on his way to receiving medical attention abroad. Daniel's untimely death remains painful to his family and loved ones but it has not deterred them to channelling their grief to helping humanity. The Foundation has been very instrumental in the education and health sectors. Mr Sijibomi Ogundele was very impressed and moved by the good work of the foundation. He pledged his support and congratulated the board of directors, urging them to do more.    |

| Shakespeare's Globe to perform 'Hamlet' in Lagos Posted: 19 Feb 2015 11:21 AM PST  A year into this extraordinary theatrical ensemble, Hamlet Globe to Globe hits Lagos on 4th & 5thMarch 2015, with performances scheduled for the Muson Centre and St. Saviours School, Ikoyi. The Hamlet Globe to Globe tour opened at Shakespeare's Globe, London, on 23 April 2014, the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. This unprecedented theatrical adventure is scheduled to tour every single country on earth over 2 years.  Directed by the Globe's Artistic Director, Dominic Dromgoole, this UK theatre production is presenting Nigerian actor, Ladi Emeruwa, in the shared role of Hamlet, together with an impressive international cast and crew of seventeen. The first African performance was at Algeria's National Theatre. | Boko Haram: 158 kidnapped victims reunite with families in Yobe Posted: 19 Feb 2015 08:33 AM PST  "The victims were screened by security operatives to authenticate their status while government provided them with psychological therapy to ease their trauma," Goniri said.NAN reports that the victims were released by the insurgents three weeks ago but remained in custody of security agencies to undergo screening to ensure that they were indeed captives. Alhaji Abdurahman Dauda, a displaced person, said his wife and six girls were released by the insurgents. "Two of my boys are still in their custody but, I am of high spirit that they will soon be rescued," he said. One of the victims who preferred to remain anonymous, said' "to be fair to the insurgents, they did not rape or abused us, they simply asked those who were not interested in their religion to leave, and they eventually released us". Meanwhile, the state government has provided N50,000, two bags of rice, sugar, noodles and wrapper to each of the 15 widows among the victims, while 47 other women received N30,000 each and same quantity of rice, sugar, noodles and wrapper. Presenting the assistance, Goniri said government commiserated with the families of the victims and provided the relief materials to help them to resettle. He said 20 boys were still in custody of the insurgents and expressed hope that the renewed operation against the insurgents would rescue them from their captors. (NAN) |

| Graphic photo: Train crushes power bike rider to death in Lagos Posted: 19 Feb 2015 07:23 AM PST  According to PM News, Yakubu ignored the Nigeria Railway Corporation traffic control officer who stopped all vehicles to pave way for the train to pass at the Fagba level crossing in Iju Ishagba, one of the rail terminal points. He was obviously in a hurry and so he ran into the train and was crushed to death on the spot. Yakubu was a security officer at CLAM church in Omole, Lagos. Sympathizers at the scene of the accident used his phone to contact his family members. See the pic after the cut..  |
