Council of State meeting ends, says election will not be postponed

The Council of State meeting has officially ended with members resolving not to postpone the 2015  general election scheduled for Feb. 14th.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, said;
"It was one of an unusual Council of State meeting that took over 7 hours deliberating on a very sensitive issue as to whether INEC is prepared for the elections or not and whether there is need for the change of dates of these elections. INEC has said they are very ready to conduct these elections and the security agencies have shown concerns about certain local governments where they have security challenges. But INEC has the power to conduct elections including fixing dates of elections.
The Council rose that INEC should then inform the nation as to their preparedness and proceed to conduct the elections. The Council has asked INEC to perform its civic responsibility which is to conduct election. That is what we rose to agree. It was a very challenging moment and INEC has reaffirmed severally that they are ready. But because of the concerns of the security agencies in few local governments, Council asked INEC to go and perform its civic responsibility. There is no decision as to change of dates or postponement at all…. Jega has reassured us that they are equal to the task. In fact, they are more prepared than they were in 2011." he said

Its unfortunate I have to share my intimate secrets with total strangers on this forum but this bothers me a lot. My wife and I have been married for 4 years but its all the same.
Sexually my wife is too uptight. I have tried all I could to liberalize her mind concerning sex, but to no avail. Here are some issues I have with my wife's sexual inhibition. She does not think a woman should initiate sex and she doesn't.
We have only had sex in the bedroom because she wont get turned on if I try another place. We only do missionary style as she is reluctant to learn new skills and doggy to her is somehow animalistic.
We cant have sex if we are in mine or my parents house. We cant have sex if any of her siblings of mine are around she doesn't want them to hear her moan.
We only have sex on weekends as she get tired after work.
We have never had quickie. like sex after she is fully dressed for occasion.. for where.
I asked her if she had any sexual fantasies she replied NO
She doesn't shave her pubic hair. No sex with lights on
Blow Job? my D can not even touch boobs talk less of her mouth. Neither does she allow me to go down on her
The issue is I am not faithful to her. I have slept with numerous babes after our marriage. I kept using her sexual up-tightness as excuse to cheat. Now I want to change but my wife too must change.

Bobbi Kristina: Doctors tell Bobby Brown it's time to take her off life support

How sad is this? She's not even 22 yet. TMZ is reporting that doctor's at Emory Hospital Atlanta have told Bobby Brown they've done all they can do for Bobbi Kristina and it's time for him to let her go.
There's nothing more doctors can do for Bobbi Kristina -- and they've told Bobby Brown it's time to withdraw life support ... TMZ has learned.
Family sources tell us the decision is now in Brown's hands - but we're told he's refusing to make the painful choice today, and instead wants to wait until after the weekend.  
The timing could not have been worse. Today is Bobby Brown's birthday.
We're told Brown has been hopeful his daughter can beat the odds because someone in his extended family battled out of a coma after 8 days. 
Bobbi Kristina was moved to Emory University Hospital Tuesday because the facility has a world class neurological department, but it appears doctors have determined there's no hope.
Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically-induced coma since Saturday, when she was found face down in her bathtub." TMZ reports...

FG bans foreign trips for officials using government funds

The Federal government has banned all public officials from embarking on international travels and foreign training using government funds. The ban was contained in a circular released today February 5th by the office of the head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Danladi Kifasi.

The circular, titled 'Restrictions on Foreign Trainings and International Travels by Public Servants, stated that the move is part of the Federal governments measure to manage its funds in the face of the current slide in oil price in the international market.


"Government has embarked on a number of measures to help manage the situation. One of such measures is an embargo on foreign trainings and international travels by public servants in all ministries, departments and agencies, including all parastatals, beginning from January 2015." the statement said The statement went further to add that "proposals for participation or attendance of international conferences, seminars, workshops, study tours, trainings, presentations of papers, negotiating/signing of memoranda of understating (MOU) abroad at government expense, shall no longer be allowed except those that are fully funded by sponsoring /invitation organisations. Public servants invited for foreign trainings/study tour, conferences by any organisation, government or other bilateral/multilateral organisation will be allowed to travel provided that no travel cost, estacode application or any other cost on government is involved. Local training will continue and, where necessary, foreign experts may be invited to conduct trainings for which there are no local experts and requests for international travels is essential and strategic cases must be strictly justified with evidence of sources of funding.".

International music & Lifestyle channel, AfroMusicPop TV, DSTV channel 326 had its first Pop Party on Thursday, January 29, at Club Ntyce. The Artiste of the Month Initiative called #PopParty served as the channel's official launch after it underwent rebranding.

The party brought together Music lovers, Media Moguls, Music promoters, Record label executives and artistes such as Skales ,Emma Nyra, Omo Akin,CDQ,Tunde Ednut who thrilled everyone with their great performances.

The event which was hosted by OgaBoss Illbliss also had the likes of  Orezi, Jaywon, Reekado Banks,Samklef, Kel, Blackface,Praiz, Saeon and a lot more in attendance.

According to their friends, Henry Gagariga was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife Victoria Ambakaderimo (both pictured) around 11pm last night February 4th after a quarrel at their home in Akenfa, Bayelsa state. Victoria allegedly stabbed him in the throat.

Their friends say it's not the first time she'd stab him but this time, he lost his life. She is currently being held at Akenfa police station in Bayelsa state over his murder. Her friends say they've not been allowed to see her to talk to her and find out what happened. Will bring an update later. More pics of late Henry after the cut...

PTDF breaks cultural barrier, produces Katsina’s first female pilot

Ruqayya Suleiman from Bakori LGA of Katsina State has become the first female pilot from the state. She is one of the 15 pilots trained in South Africa under the full scholarship programme of the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) as international certified commercial pilots. 

According to Raqayya's father, her dream of becoming a pilot could not have come true without the scholarship and emotional support from the PTDF.

 
Today, a joyful Mr. Suleiman is excited that his young daughter has broken the cultural barrier that often hold girls from her region back from acquiring higher education.

The Executive Secretary of PTDF, Femi Ajayi, explained that the aim of the scholarship is to create capacity for the Oil and Gas sector and that with the support of President Goodluck Jonathan and the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Allison-Mudueke, the agency is fulfilling its mission. 

Helicopter pilots are key professionals in the Oil and Gas sector. 

Corroborating the Executive Secretary, the head, Industry collaboration Unit of the PTDF, Barrister Timipre Wolo said before the establishment of the agency, the industry was dominated by expatriates. 

"The country needed to build its indigenous capacity to make sure it fills up the available vacancies.

"Mostly, oil and gas activities in Nigeria are offshore and even those onshore; one has to fly to the locations because of the terrain of the Niger Delta. So helicopters became the major means of transportation," she said.

Another beneficiary of the scheme, Angel Odumodu from Port Harcourt in Rivers State said he was shocked when he got the call from the PTDF.  "I wasn't expecting it but now I am a pilot and the whole family is excited".

Also Ogoromsi Apiri from Ogbia in Bayelsa State, a beneficiary, said he had always been curious to know how jets and helicopters fly,  but that his dream of becoming a pilot seemed impossible when his father died. But the PTDF came to his rescue with the scholarship.

From Kaduna is 18 year-old Tosin Ajibola, an indigene of Kwara State who is one of the 20 children of his father with four wives.

He said: "I wanted to be a pilot but I realized it will cost me between 12 to 20M Naira to study abroad. My father who has 20 of us to take care of would not be able to afford the cost, so I told myself that I may has as well let go the dream". 

Today, he is grateful to the scheme that has made him Nigeria's youngest pilot. 

And from Zaria in Kaduna State is Jesuleke Elizabeth Babatunde, an indigene of Ondo State who disclosed that she and her husband had searched on-line a fruitlessly for such a scholarship until PTDF offered her the lifeline.

With the success achieved with this first batch, Mr. Ajayi, PTDF's Executive Sectary believes that this is a dream come true for the trainees as the agency has given them a rare opportunity to improve their lives

Audit report indicts NNPC, corporation to refund $1.48billion

The forensic audit conducted by audit firm, PriceWaterHouseCoopers on behalf of the Federal Govt to investigate the financial transactions within the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC) has indicted the management of the NNPC for various questionable transactions.

The federal government had contracted the auditing firm in March last year to investigate allegations of financial impropriety within the corporation after Former CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi raised an alarm that $20m was missing from the coffers of the NNPC.

President Jonathan received the report from the audit firm on Monday February 2nd.

According to Premium Times, part of the recommendations in the audit report includes the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, the upstream subsidy of the NNPC, refund about $1.48billion to the Federation Account for various un-reconciled transactions.

UK students are seeking out 'sugar daddies' who can fund their degrees

Hundreds of students have reportedly signed up to a "dating" website that enables students to meet people willing to fund their degrees and lifestyles whilst at university.

Nearly 2,000 women students in the UK are said to be registered on SeekingArrangement.com, which promises to match "sugar babies" with "sugar daddies". Seeking Arrangement boasts 3.6 million active members, with 2.6 million "sugar babies" to 1 million "sugar daddies and mommas".

According to the website, over a third of their total users are students.

A statement from Brandon Wade, founder of the service, reads: "Every successful relationship is an arrangement between two parties.
"In business, partners sign business agreements that outline their objectives and expectations. Likewise, romantic relationships can only work if two people agree on what they expect and receive from each other."

The entrepreneur told student website The Tab: "Love is a concept made up by poor people.
"At a time when graduates are guaranteed debt rather than a well-paying job, or even employment for that matter, Sugar Daddies are sought out for opportunity and not just financial stability."

He went on to claim that "sugaring" would improve the prospects of men and women using the service, perhaps even enabling them to find employment upon graduation.
Recent statistics showed that the cost to the UK of paying for student debt will rise to billions of pounds per year over the next three decades.

University fees are likely to feature strongly during the general election campaign. In January, Labour leader Ed Miliband hinted that his party would bring forward a package to reduce fees.
New figures have also revealed that a third of graduates are failing to find graduate-level employment five years after leaving university. The number in lower-level jobs has increased by 4 per cent since 2010 and, at 34 per cent, is at its highest in more than a decade.

President Jonathan is currently holding the Council of State meeting with some past presidents and current Governors to deliberate on the forthcoming general elections. According to reports, one of the issues to be deliberated upon is the possible postponement of the elections to give INEC more time to distribute the permanent voters card.

Present at the meet are; former President Shehu Shagari, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.), Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar and Chief Ernest Shonekan, Vice President Namadi Sambo; President of the Senate, David Mark; Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; Attorney-General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke


Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyin Pius Anyim; National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulfatahi Ahmed (Kwara), Tanko Almakura (Nasarawa), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara) and the deputy governors of Borno and Yobe States.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the only living Nigerian leader not present at the meeting.

Earlier today, Gov Amaechi who is the DG of the APC Presidential campaign had taken to his twitter handle to state that he would be opposing any motion to postpone the elections.
