Before 30 is a Drama series centered around four women living in Lagos and the pressures they face to be married before they turn 30 years old. Their stories are told through the eyes of the lead character Temi Coker (Damilola Adegbite) through voice over. Nkem (Beverly Naya) plays the sexy career woman who believes men are simply playthings. Aisha (Meg Otanwa) is the conflicted northern housewife who is married to a bliionare. Ama (Anee Icha) is the sweet and cheerful friend and the youngest in the group. 



The show aims to shed some light on the issues the average single Nigerian woman faces daily in her quest to become a wife. Each character covers various social, physical, economic, religious and cultural aspects of the Nigerian woman, thereby creating a cast that everyone can relate to in some way.  The show is sponsored by first bank and locations are sponsored by Federal Palace Hotel and Casino.
Temi is a 27 year old lawyer and the only child of the Coker family. She is at a stage in her life where she does not know who she is so she makes emotional decisions. She is a risk taker and is likely to do things because they feel good at the time, and not necessarily because they are good for her in the long run. She tries daily to balance her own desire to find love with the pressure to just be married. But as a hopeless romantic with a meddlesome mother, this battle becomes harder to win everyday.

 Ayo is an ambitious young man and Temis high school sweetheart. He sees marriage as an unnecessary distraction at this stage in his career. Although he loves Temi, he is unable to put her needs before his ambition.

Aisha being from a conservative muslim family has never really been able to choose who she wants to be. She knows who she could be without all the cultural and religious strings that restrain her. She is married to an extremely wealthy man and wants for nothing. Though she is still adjusting to the ups and downs of marriage herself, she understands her friends' desire to be married.

Akin is a kind hearted humanitarian. He doesn't have the best track record with relationships but he is willing to change and settle down when he meets Temi.
Ama is a free spirit with a rosy outlook on life. She always wants to do the right thing, and tries to as long as it is within her power to do so. She is very spiritual, and is not afraid to share her faith with anyone. Ama is the youngest of the four girls and it shows in her naiveté.
Nkem is a sexy goddess. Not because of her looks but because of a confidence and assuredness that can be seen and felt from a mile a way. The way she walks, her eyes and the way she speaks all form part of what makes her irresistible to men. She is blunt and direct but she loves her friends



Sherriff is the billionaire heir to an oil and gas empire. He is married to Aisha and is a man with old-fashioned Northern values, despite his western education. He is generous and extremely smart but has a sense on entitlement that comes with growing up with unfathomable wealth.

No more political rallies in Okrika- Ex-militant, Ateke Tom says

Former Niger Delta militant, Ateke Tom, says following the crisis that broke out during the APC governorship rally in Okrika, Rivers state last week, the people of Okrika have decided that there will be no more political rallies in their village.

According to Daily Independent, the ex militant said this after a stakeholders meeting with the people of Okrika yesterday February 24th.
"The people of Okrika have spoken and I am in support of the position that they have taken. My people have spoken: no more political rallies in Okrika. I am in support of their decision. Who am I to say no? You want them to kill me?
When the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) held their rally there was no problem. But there was violence when the All Progressives Congress (APC) staged their rally in Okrika; there was violence and people were injured and property destroyed. A police man we were told was unfortunately killed. So, PDP and APC, there will be no more rallies in Okrika. We don't want violence in Okrika anymore. The people of Okrika want to preserve the exiting peace in Okrika. We don't want any violence in Okrika. We no longer want any trouble in Okrika. My advice to the youths is to resist the temptation of being lured by politicians to perpetrate violence. Politicians are like that; they will use you and dump you. Any youth that allows himself to be used for violence in Okrika is on his own. Politicians will use you and dump you when you are in trouble. I am warning our youths to stay out of violence because at the end of the day nobody will be there for them" he said.

America's Next Top model contestant shot dead in her boyfriend's home

Beautiful Mirjana Puhar - who contested in the 2014 edition of 'America's Next Top Model' was killed yesterday Tuesday February 24th in a triple homicide at her boyfriend's home in Charlotte, NC. She was just 19 years old. TMZ reports below...
A source who was very close to Mirjana confirmed to TMZ that she was one of the 3 victims found dead in a home that belonged to Mirjana's boyfriend. The source says a friend of the couple went to the house after getting a call that gunshots were heard.
We're told the friend went into the house, saw 2 bodies -- Mirjana and the bf -- and then called police to report the killings. The friend didn't see the 3rd victim, but did see money scattered around the house.
19-year-old Mirjana was on the 21st cycle of 'ANTM' ... which aired last year. She was eliminated from the show in the 10th episode. 
Law enforcement sources tell us the preliminary investigation leads police to believe the murders were drug related -- and the victims knew the killer. Our Mirjana source says the young model had only been with the boyfriend for a few months.
Update...
Police have arrested 19-year-old Emmanuel Jesus Rangel and charged him with 3 counts of 1st degree murder.
The boyfriend, Jonathan Alvarado was 23 ... and the third victim was 21-year-old Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia. Our sources say Jusmar was Jonathan's roommate and best friend. We're told Mirjana had just moved in with the guys.

Boko Haram kidnaps Adamawa council vice chairman

The Adamawa State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the abduction of the Vice Chairman of Hong Local Government, Bijida Yakubu, by gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Othman Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said three vigilante members that were with Mr. Yakubu lost their lives in the encounter.

Mr. Abubakar, who did not give details, however, said the police officers investigating the incident have so far recovered the vice chairman's shoes.


A resident of Hong who simply identified himself as Hussaini said that the incident occurred in Gayafa Village of the area.

"You know, insurgents attacked the village last week. The vice chairman who hailed from the village was on an assessment visit with some hunters when the insurgents attacked and over-powered them.
"About seven insurgents were killed in the encounter before they over-powered the hunters and took away the vice chairman," he said.

Mr. Hussaini claimed that the abducted vice chairman was later allowed by his captors to call his wife with his cell phone before the device was switched off.
The Chairman of Adamawa branch of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Sahabo Gurin, also confirmed the incident.

Adamawa is one of the three states most affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
The insurgency has caused the death of about 20,000 people in northern Nigeria with hundreds of thousands of others displaced.

The Nigerian military recently began a major offensive against the group, reclaiming some of the territory initially seized by the insurgents.

Former World's Best footballer Fabio Cannavaro sentenced to 10 months in prison

Former FIFA World Player of the Year (2006), Fabio Cannavaro, 41, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for breaching orders to keep out of his home after it was seized by authorities.

The home of the former Real Madrid defender turned coach was seized after he was accused of tax evasion. The authorities claim he owes over €1m in unpaid taxes. They also seized goods worth about €1million as well as a €180,000 yacht belonging to Cannavaro.

He was arrested after he was caught going for a swim at his home's swimming pool with his wife and brother after breaking the lock authorities had used to lock his home. His brother and wife were also given custodial sentences. All three have appealed and will therefore have their sentences suspended until a final judgment is made.

Former President Shehu Shagari turned 90 years old today and President Jonathan and other former Heads of State including Chief Ernest Shonekan, Gen. Babangida, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Abubakar Abdulsalami, stormed Sokoto state to celebrate with him. Born 25th February 1925, Sir Shagari served as President of Nigeria's Second Republic from 1979 -1983. Happy Birthday to him.
