President Jonathan missed the point on missing N30trn - Charles Soludo

Posted: 24 Feb 2015 02:05 PM PST

In his interview with ThisDay newspaper published last Sunday February 22nd, President Jonathan accused former CBN Governor Charles Soludo of being political with his claims that N30 trillion had gone missing under the watch of the Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. What President Jonathan said about Soludo's claims below and Soludo's response after the cut...
"So you'll see that there is a lot of politicking about some of the serious issues. Not too long ago I read in one of the papers, I think Vanguard, that former chief economic adviser to President Obasanjo who also went to become a CBN governor… Soludo is a professor and first class material. Yes, making a first class in economics, he is a brilliant person. His secondary school records are fantastic. So by all standards he is a brilliant person. So the Vanguard wrote that he accused Ngozi; that N30 trillion was stolen under the watch of Ngozi in four years. Ngozi became a finance minister, let's say from 2011 till date. From that time till now, our annual budget is between N4.3 trillion and N4.9 trillion. So even if you put all together, it is about 18 plus trillion naira, & not 30 trillion. The budget for these four years is less than N20 trillion, but Soludo said that under Ngozi's watch they stole N30 trillion. This is in the papers, social media, stored in the clouds and will continue to be there. And when you type it in it will come out that during President Jonathan's time they stole N30 trillion. We asked Ngozi how her colleagues in the World Bank saw the accusation and she said they were laughing and couldn't believe it. There are certain things that you just cannot believe and if that is coming from somebody considered to be cerebral like Professor Soludo, then of course you know what the ordinary person would say. It is all political"President Jonathan said.

Professor Soludo reacted to this interview by releasing an article this evening. See it below...
My attention has been drawn this morning to an article entitled: "Jonathan Replies Soludo over "missing N30 trillion" claim"— extracting from Mr. President's interview as published by Thisday newspaper.
ThisDay quoted Mr. President as saying that "Soludo said that under Ngozi's watch they stole N30 trillion" but that since the sum of the federal budget over the last four years was less than N30 trillion, such an amount could not have been "stolen".
According to the President, "it is all political". I had earlier stated that I would not make further comments on the issues until probably after the elections but since Mr. President has decided to join the fray, I am constrained to make a further brief clarification.
For me, President Jonathan is a gentleman and a friend but I have a fundamental disagreement on his management of the economy. On the issues at stake, I believe that the pressures of office and the hectic electioneering campaigns have not allowed him time to read my articles or that his staff have not explained the contents to him hence he totally missed the point in his comments. For the avoidance of doubt, let me clarify as follows:
1. In my article entitled "Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Missing Trillions", I presented some rough calculations covering: oil theft, money that ought to accrue to stock of foreign reserves, unbudgeted oil subsidy payments, customs duty waivers, leakages through the self-financing government parastatals, unremitted sums by NNPC, etc.
I concluded that section of my article by noting that: "I have a long list but let me wait for now. I do not want to talk about other 'black pots' that impinge on national security. My estimate, Madam, is that probably more than N30 trillion has either been stolen or lost or unaccounted for or simply mismanaged under your watchful eyes in the past four years".
2. It is evident that the monies I referred to are "off-budget". These are monies that did not make it to the budget. I find it funny that the Government deliberately avoided the issues raised above but instead has sought to divert attention by focusing on the "federal budget".
Let me state for the record that I believe that the amount of resources that are either stolen from the economy or out-rightly mismanaged by government far exceeds the federal budget per annum.
Ours is about a N100 trillion economy, and I will be shocked if the government pretends that it does not know that currently about 10% of the GDP falls into a 'black hole' on annual basis.
We have not added figures based on counterfactual analysis such as the cost to the aggregate economy of bad or misguided economic policy. For example, in today's Thisday newspaper, a headline news reports that "Aliko Dangote, Africa's Richest Man, Loses $7.8 Billion as Naira, Stocks Plunge" while reporting that "In dollar terms, the devaluation has knocked more than $40 billion off the value of Nigeria's economy". Of course, most people predicted that oil prices would soon fall but we were caught unprepared, and today, the parallel market exchange rate is N225 to the dollar.
Thus, the kind of analysis in today's Thisday is just one little example of the kind of collateral damages–'costs' or 'losses'– that mismanagement foists on the system. To repeat, my article did not focus on the federal budget: the mismanagement of the consumption budget and its unprecedented debt accumulation (with low value-for-money expenditures) are entirely different matters.
3. What I found particularly disconcerting as a Nigerian from the comments I read is the fixation to validation from the World Bank. According to Mr. President, "we asked the Minister how her colleagues at the World Bank saw the accusation". I shook my head in disbelief. It is instructive that no one asked what Nigerians thought or 'how Nigerians saw it' but rather what was important to government was the impression of the World Bank. If this is the mind-set of our leaders, then ordinary citizens have real cause to worry.
Well, I have read several editorial comments of Nigerian media and they do not agree with the 'impression' of the World Bank official. I read a similar comment by a high government official stating that World Bank officials and CNN had told them that government was doing well and therefore who else could question them.
But neither the World Bank nor CNN conducts comprehensive independent surveys on the economy— they comment based on the data they are given— and their subjective "opinions" cannot substitute for hard facts.
The World Bank is not a statistical agency. I can provide a long list of countries that World Bank reports praised as 'star performers' and they slumped into deep crisis almost immediately after. Check out the World Bank and IMF reports on the US and other countries' economies shortly before the unprecedented global financial and economic crisis in fifty years (the Great Recession of 2008/09).
Actually for many countries once they start getting such 'praises', then perceptive officials begin to worry. Nigeria is probably the only country where its government officials quote the World Bank while ignoring data from its own statistical agency!
A serious concern is that while government relies on external validation (opinion) as 'proof' of its performance, it is selective in the process—accepting the positive ones and disparaging the negative ones. Our recent exchanges illustrate the point. In my first article (26th January): "Buhari Vs Jonathan: Beyond the Elections", I argued that "the economy seems to be on auto pilot, with confusion as to who is in charge, and government largely as a constraint.
There are no big ideas, and it is difficult to see where economic policy is headed to. My thesis is that the Nigerian economy, if properly managed, should have been growing at an annual rate of about 12% given the oil boom, and poverty and unemployment should have fallen dramatically over the last five years". No one has credibly challenged the above, except what the Financial Times of London described as a "furious response by the Minister". But, the influential Economist Magazine of London and New York Times agreed with us. According to the Economist editorial (7th February, 2015):
"… as Africa's biggest economy stages its most important election since the restoration of civilian rule in 1999, and perhaps since the civil war four decades ago, Nigerians must pick between the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, who has proved an utter failure, and the opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari….
The single bright spot of his rule has been Nigeria's economy, one of the world's fastest-growing. Yet that is largely despite the government rather than because of it, and falling oil prices will temper the boom. The prosperity has not been broadly shared: under Mr Jonathan poverty has increased. Nigerians typically die eight years younger than their poorer neighbours in nearby Ghana". I gave the Government an "F" grade on economic management, and the Economist described its performance as "utter failure".
The Economist also basically agreed with me that the re-basing of the economy and its observed 'growth' have nothing to do with government policy. Again, government has not credibly challenged the above or is the Economist's view also 'all political '? Government simply waved it off. My point is that if Government has to rely on the "impressions" of external bodies, then it should be consistent and comprehensive.
4. In conclusion, let me re-state that I firmly stand by my earlier statements. These are weighty statements which I weighed carefully before issuing. I appreciate that this is an election time and so attempts would be made to trivialize, or either play politics with, or divert attention from, them. In a serious society, we should have had a good debate on these matters as they could provide some of the building blocks in trying to pick the pieces after the elections.
Part of our citizen duty in a democracy is to raise such issues and demand for answers. In the meantime, I grant that our leaders are busy with campaigns but these issues won't go away until we have a transparent resolution. Be assured that after the elections, we will be back with even more questions!

Pres. Jonathan condemns Boko Haram's reversion to suicide bombing of soft targets

Posted: 24 Feb 2015 11:18 AM PST

Read the State House Press statement below...
Boko Haram reversion to suicide bombing of soft targets, act of desperate sect facing extinction
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan condemns the reversion by the terrorist group, Boko Haram to the callous bombing of soft targets in parts of Nigeria in the wake of the ongoing rapid recovery by gallant Nigerian troops and their multinational allies of areas formerly controlled by the sect. President Jonathan commiserates with all families who have lost loved ones in the bombings which continued today with attacks on Kano and Potiskum.
The President shares the grief of all the bereaved families and is deeply saddened by the continued loss of many innocent lives at the hands of misguided and desperate fanatics who are now feeling the heat of the intense counter –insurgency operation by the Nigerian Armed Forces. The President assures all Nigerians and the people of the North-Eastern states in particular that the days of mourning victims of incessant terrorist attacks in the country will soon be over as the tide has now definitely turned against Boko Haram.
President Jonathan further assures the people of Nigeria that the gallant, courageous and patriotic officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces, supported with new platforms, equipment and logistics provided by the Federal Government will carry the ongoing operations against the terrorists through to a successful conclusion in the shortest possible time. He affirms that his administration will continue to take all necessary action to guarantee the success of ongoing military operations against the terrorist group and drastically reduce its ability to take and hold territory or recruit, groom and brainwash young persons to undertake suicide bombing attacks on soft targets.

Whitney, Bobby, drugs & death..and why their daughter never stood a chance, by former bodyguard

Posted: 24 Feb 2015 09:41 AM PST

This is a very interesting article that I think you should read if you have the time. Whitney Houston's bodyguard who inspired the singer's hit movie, The Bodyguard, David Roberts (circled in the photo above), writes things about Whitney and Bobby that you've never read before. David, who worked for Whitney for 7 years said he wasn't surprised when he heard that Whitney had died, saying that he was more surprised by how long she'd lived. Read the article below culled from Mail Online
It has been the painful and very public unravelling of an American Dream. Millions of fans around the world watched appalled as Whitney, the ultimate diva of her generation, descended into the chaotic ravages of drug abuse and then, eventually, death at 48.
And now, just three years later, her fate has been replicated in an equally shocking style. Today the singer's 21-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, herself a drug addict, lies in a coma, hovering close to death.
Roberts today left. Roberts on a boat with the singer in Australia in 1988 right

To many, her fate has seemed grimly predictable, but few have been more affected than one man who sits, watching, many hundreds of miles away from Bobbi Kristina's anxious family.

For seven years of his life, Welshman David Roberts was a constant companion to Whitney, a minder, fixer, and wise counsel, too.

He was not just her bodyguard – but The Bodyguard, who helped inspire the role which established her as the golden girl of Hollywood.
Like the hero played by Kevin Costner, Roberts was a Special Forces-trained operative who lived constantly by her side.

There may have been no romantic involvement, but Roberts was the real-life recipient of a note under his hotel door saying: 'I will always love you' – the title of the power ballad from the film that became more famous than the movie itself.
Whitney trusted him with her life. Yet unlike the character on screen, Roberts proved tragically unable to save her – or her daughter.

Now, aghast at the latest twist of fate to assail Whitney's family and her legacy, the bodyguard has finally decided to tell how one of the most glamorous women on the planet was brought low by a disastrous cocktail of alcohol, celebrity and hard drugs. And he is not slow to point the finger of blame.

In his first interview since he finally left Whitney's household, he recalls how her toxic marriage to 'bad boy' rapper Bobby Brown eclipsed her talent and she began the descent into helpless addiction.
It was a world, he says, in which the infant Bobbi Kristina would wear £20,000 diamond earrings – while witnessing her parents consume paralysing quantities of drugs.
After Bobbi Kristina's birth in 1993, Roberts worried she would have little choice but to follow the same path as her mother.
He takes no satisfaction from being proved right.
'That girl had no chance from the start,' he says.
'She was born into chaos. Her father was instrumental in her mother's downfall.
'Everyone is responsible for their own actions, but Whitney was vulnerable. She was obsessed with Bobby Brown and he subjected her to so much psychological abuse that she lost everything, including her dignity.
'I watched Bobbi Kristina as a little girl, running around the corridors of hotels we were staying in, surrounded by the degenerates who were supposed to be looking after her, and I worried for her future.
'When I heard what had happened to Bobbi Kristina, I wasn't surprised, but I was angry.
'Everything good Bobby Brown's ever had in his life, he's destroyed – his career, Whitney, and now Bobbi Kristina. She's another victim of his poisonous personality.'
On January 31, Bobbi Kristina was found in the same awful circumstances as her mother had been, lying face-down and unresponsive in the bath. Bobbi's partner Nick Gordon is said to be devastated.
Roberts, now 62, retains his Welsh lilt and speaks in slow, measured tones. He has a fatherly air at odds with his toughness, although the latter is evident in the prominent scar on his head acquired while defending Houston during a fight between her brother, Michael, and a gang of racist thugs in Kentucky.
His association with Whitney started purely by chance. But within a short space of time he was not just protecting her, but keeping her whirlwind life and career intact.

He had been a police officer and then a sergeant in the Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Department of Scotland Yard. He saw action in Northern Ireland and was later trained as a sniper. He was also involved in the Iranian embassy siege in 1980 in London. In 1984 he started his own security and investigations consultancy.

In February 1988, he was asked by the American embassy to look after Whitney Houston during a forthcoming visit to London. He'd never heard of her. Their first encounter was at Heathrow airport, where she was arriving on Concorde. She was surrounded by a huge entourage – including her friend and rumoured lesbian lover Robyn Crawford – and Roberts was introduced to her only briefly.
However, a night out a few days later brought him to the attention of the American security team travelling with her.

He recalls: 'She went to Browns nightclub, and there was a scuffle as she left, with photographers swarming to take pictures of her.
'One guy was trying to climb into the Rolls-Royce to get to her, so I blocked him and his camera fell to the ground and smashed.
'Because I'd done my job – with the benefit of local knowledge – the former FBI security guy who was looking after her hired me to continue providing security for the whole of her British tour, followed by her European tour, and then as director of security on a Far East tour.'
Roberts quickly found himself personally guarding Whitney outside her hotel door as she slept at night.

'We developed a rapport and I liked her immensely,' he says. 'At that time, she was a very professional and articulate but slightly shy and unworldly woman.
'She had a wonderful sense of humour. We had a lot of fun.'
Roberts believes that she had already experimented with drugs at this stage, although he saw no sign of them.
He was then asked to arrange the security for her 26th birthday party at her house in New Jersey.

She attended on the arm of actor Eddie Murphy, but Roberts noticed a new male presence. 'A bus pulled up at the house and three guys got off.
One of them was wearing a turquoise and white floral shorts suit, black loafers and white socks.

'I asked if I could help him and he said he was Bobby Brown and that he had an invitation to come to the party. Later in the evening, I saw him dancing with Whitney in a way they would call dancing but other people might describe as sexual assault. And that was it.'

Life for Roberts became a cycle of going on tour for three months, then returning home to London for two or three weeks.

'It wasn't a job, it was a vocation,' he says. 'It left no room in my life for anything else, including my wife at the time. I had to be there for Whitney, or Nippy, as her friends and family called her, whenever she needed me.
'Once, she called for me because her false tooth had fallen down the sink in her hotel room in Hong Kong. I couldn't retrieve it, so we had to take her to a dentist to get it fixed. I didn't mind. We had a bond.

'On tour, she'd push little notes under my hotel room door, messages saying thank you. Once, she wrote, "I will always love you", years before the song came out. She was sweet, and I think she saw me as a sort of protective uncle figure.'
Officially, Houston and Brown's romance did not begin until 1991, although Roberts says Brown had become a fixture long before that.

'I could see the effect he was having on her. She became obsessed by where he was and what he was doing. She didn't trust him, and the emotional stress manifested itself in her starting to lose her temper. She was unhappy; there wasn't the same laughter there had been.'
From the start, their pairing was an unlikely one.

Whitney, already America's sweetheart whose eponymously titled first album remains the bestselling debut by a female artist in music history, was the product of a showbusiness dynasty.
Her mother was Cissy Houston, a singer, and her father John Houston, a powerful entertainment manager. Dionne Warwick was her cousin and Aretha Franklin her honorary aunt.

By contrast, Brown was involved in gang violence from an early age. He had become successful with the group New Edition before becoming a solo artist, but drug abuse, accusations of rape and other criminal activities dogged him throughout his career.
Brown began to travel with Houston when she went on tour, and the pair would often hole themselves up in their hotel room with large quantities of alcohol.

'Every two days, a bottle of brandy and a couple of crates of Heineken would go in, and then he'd be too ill to do anything for a day, and the following day he'd start the process again,' says Roberts.
'The only time I saw any drugs until the very end of my time with her was before Brown was on the scene, when we arrived in Long Island for a show and Whitney's maid Sylvia asked me to retrieve Whitney's glasses case, which she'd left on the bus. It was full of weed.

'But I knew they were taking drugs together, because everyone knew.
'As time went on, she started to cancel performances and events because she wasn't well, and it was obvious why.' He believes Houston willingly allowed herself to be dragged down by Brown.

'I think that to make him feel less uncomfortable about his inadequacies, and the fact she was more successful than him, she went down to his level. That meant joining him in his habits. When they were out together, they were loud and brash. They used bad language and had arguments to attract attention. It was embarrassing.'

Wherever Brown went, chaos followed. During one visit to London, Roberts received an urgent call at 4am from Houston's driver.
'Brown was having a fight with Michael Houston on the Embankment. They'd been at Browns nightclub, and they'd apparently met a man who had £250,000 worth of cocaine with him and was trying to sell it.

'The fight started because Bobby wanted to go back to the club and rob this man of the drugs and money. Michael was trying to stop him.'
In 1992, Houston made The Bodyguard film. The similarities between the plot of the film and Roberts's involvement with the star was a source of amusement to them both.
'When I saw it, I was amazed,' he says. 'Whitney wasn't acting; it was her life. I saw Kevin Costner doing everything for her that I did… obviously without the sex and the shooting! Whitney and I joked about it.

'Her name in the film, Rachel Marron, was the name I used to book her into hotels. We were staying in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas one night after filming had finished and she asked me to come to her room and listen to her new song. It was I Will Always Love You, and I told her it was the best song she'd ever done. At that point, she had everything.'

But one evening that spring, Roberts was in a restaurant in Atlanta having dinner with Whitney and her entourage.

He recalls: 'She said to me, "David, I think I'm going to marry Bobby." I said, "Really, boss?" She said, "Yes. What do you think?"
'I just didn't know how to say to her, "Please God, no, don't do it." '
They married in 1992 in a lavish ceremony at her home.
Brown cheated on Houston frequently before they divorced in 2007, and Roberts believes it was a deliberate policy aimed at chipping away at her self-esteem.
Roberts says: 'Her behaviour was similar to battered wife syndrome, which I'd seen in my time in the police. He was jealous of her success, so he rubbed her face in his cheating, but she forgave him every possible indiscretion. I just couldn't understand it. And it ate away at her.' As Whitney later admitted: 'He was too promiscuous, dragging dirt into my home. It disturbed me.'

Once, she was about to go on-stage at a big open-air concert in Lexington, Kentucky, when she decided to call Brown in Atlanta.
'A woman answered the phone, so immediately, she wanted to fly to Atlanta to find out what he was doing,' says Roberts. 'The crowds were already arriving, but she cancelled the show. We had to find a doctor to say she had lost her voice, and then arrange a private jet.

'We flew to Atlanta, and when we arrived, Whitney and Brown had a furious argument. Fifteen minutes later, they were having sex. That's the way it always was.
'He and I were alone together in a bar one night in Germany, and he was telling me he'd changed and become a Muslim. But that evening, he left with two prostitutes. He tried to offer one to me.'

Houston and Brown have admitted that it was around the time of The Bodyguard that they began to take drugs together every day, often cocaine-laced cannabis joints. Bobbi Kristina was born the following year, in 1993, and Roberts was dismayed by the arrangements her parents made for her care and concerned about the background of some of the characters trusted to look after the toddler.
'Whitney and Bobby bought Bobbi Kristina diamond ear-rings worth $20,000, information that appeared in the press, so I was very worried about her safety. I suggested to Bobby that they take them out of her ears, but because I'd suggested it, he refused.
He knew I disliked him intensely and it was mutual.'
By the time Houston filmed the movie Waiting To Exhale in 1995, her drug-taking had begun to have a serious impact on her health.
'She took an overdose of cocaine, and filming had to be halted for a week,' he says. 'Her throat doctor told me that he was giving her eight months to stop the habit or she'd never be able to sing again.

'I was horrified, but shortly afterwards, we flew to Brunei so she could sing at the Sultan's niece's 18th birthday party. She croaked her way through her greatest hits. I was disgusted, and she knew it.

'I went home and wrote a report on what the doctor had told me and sent it to her lawyers. A week later, I was told that she would no longer be travelling internationally so my services were no longer needed.'

Roberts never heard from Houston again, and went back to running his investigations and security business. In 2010, he moved to Miami. Over the years, he watched Houston's decline with a sense of sad inevitability.
'I wasn't surprised when she died – I was just surprised by how long she lived. I like to think it wouldn't have happened on my watch.'

Of Brown, who has married again and still works with his soul group New Edition, Roberts said: 'Those around her failed her. With Bobbi Kristina so close to dying, too, I wonder if he feels guilt for the way he's behaved. He should.'

Bash Ali arrested, charged to court for constituting public nuisance

Posted: 24 Feb 2015 09:03 AM PST

When did they start arresting people for constituting public nuisance? Lol Nigerian boxing icon, Bash Ali was arrested last week Wednesday Feb. 11th in front of a bank in Abuja for constituting public nuisance. Not only was he arrested, he was locked up in a cell and charged to court for the offence.

According to reports, the boxer and three other boxers had gone to the Nigerian Export Import Bank, NEXIM, in Abuja last week to demand for the sponsorship the bank was asked by president Jonathan to give to the Boxers Association for a Guinness Book of Record fight. When they didn't pay him attention, Bash Ali and the men allegedly created drama in front of the bank premises The management of the bank called in the police and accused the boxer and the others of threatening to bomb their bank building

The four of them were arrested and charged before an Abuja based court for constituting public nuisance and threat to live. They were remanded at the SARS prison that day. When interrogated, the former Boxer accused the bank manager, one Mr Henry Orya of demanding a 10% commission from the $30 million US sponsorship fund the presidency allegedly instructed the bank to give the boxers as sponsorship. He denied the allegations that he threatened to bomb the bank premises.
"I never said I will bomb their office. If any institution owned by government disobeys the order of Mr. President because of corruption, that institution should be closed down. That is what I said"he said
The bank has denied they ever asked him for bribe, saying they didn't give him the sponsorship because they don't sponsor sports activities
"NEXIM does not finance sports activities. Notwithstanding this explanation, Bash Ali did not relent but decided to adopt every means to extort the $1, 000,000. 00 from the Bank" the bank in a statement said.
Bash Ali and the other three men are due to appear in court on March 4th when the case and his bail application will be heard

Earlier today, I received exclusive photos from a woman claiming to be friends with the woman in the wedding photo with Tonto Dikeh's Mr X, Bimbo Coker. She claimed they were still married. But I received a phone call from Mr X's associates saying he's divorced.

Then someone also drew my attention to tweets by this man @larucheebam who claims he was at the wedding, also confirming that Tonto's man is divorced. Don't know what the truth is, all I know is that this back and forth is good for my business...lol. See the tweets after the cut...

Fayose: APC must apologise for lying to Nigerians on Buhari, says "Chatham House event was bought"

Posted: 24 Feb 2015 07:48 AM PST

This Fayose will not leave APC people alone...lol. Another press statement below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must apologise for lying to Nigerians on the health status of its presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), using pictures taken in Transcop Hilton, Abuja and claiming that the pictures were taken in London.
Fayose said "it was interesting that the loquacious APC Spokesperson, Lai Mohammed could develop a cold feet and muscle pull in his mouth such that he suddenly realised that he could not join issues with Fayose."

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said; "The Chatham House one hour event scheduled for Thursday was paid for by the APC with the hope that Buhari will be well enough to appear in public briefly by Thursday.

"The Event Contact person, Chris Vandome confirmed via phone call that the event was 'Jointly
Sponsored' by the APC and Chatham House."

The governor said; "Having lied so brazenly that Buhari granted interview in London, using pictures taken in Transcop Hilton, Abuja, it is obvious that the APC is a party of deceitful people that should
not be taken seriously by Nigerians.

"If APC ssys that today is Tuesday, Nigerians should check calender to be sure."

He hailed Guardian newspaper for being honourable enough to publish an apology yesterday, on the false picture it used on Sunday, asking; "When is APC going to be humble enough to apologise to Nigerians?"

"Hopefully,  the APC expects to bombard Nigerians with pictures of Buhari's one hour appearance in Chatham House on Friday, using that to cover up the real reasons he travelled to the United Kingdom.

"However, we expect them to publish pictures of Buhari's departure from the Abuja Airport,
Buhari queuing at the Airport to board his flight as they claimed, Buhari being interviewed by journalists at the Airport, Buhari boarding his flight and waving at those who followed him to the
Airport ans Buhari being welcomed at the Airport in London.

"If actually Buhari travelled out of Nigeria under a normal condition, could he have passed through the Abuja Airport without any of the Aviation Journalists interviewing him?

"So, those covering up Buhari's health issue should know that his paid appearance at Chatham House on Thursday will not do the PR they are expecting. Rather, it will raise further questions which they can only answer by saying the truth and apologising for the lies they told," the governor said.
