| Tiannah styling stuns with Elegante Kidz at Africa Fashion Week Posted: 05 Aug 2015 12:29 PM PDT   Amarachi and Tiannah opened the show confidently as they walked the runway and did a full split, other kids danced shoki, struck amazing poses and came with a full dose of swag while Amarachi Uyanne the 2015 winner of Nigeria's Got Talent sang. This was definitely the talk of the first show. The Iro and Buba evolution by Toyin Lawani showcased on. The second day at the Gala night was mind blowing. Toyin Lawani's collection at Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2015 was undoubtedly the highlight of the show. It was indeed a night to remember.         |
| 'I’m not indebted to FCMB' - Sen. Hope Uzodimma Posted: 05 Aug 2015 12:17 PM PDT  Senator Hope Uzodimma has absolved himself from indebtedness to the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited, insisting that he has neither borrowed from the bank nor been notified of any indebtedness by FCMB. Reacting to the list of alleged delinquent debtors released by First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited on Wednesday, Uzodimma challenged the bank to provide details of his so-called indebtedness to it.He said companies which he served on their boards and had earlier obtained loans under strict business transactions, had liquidated all such loans and this could be verified by the Credit Bureau Search Portal of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). "For the bank to publish my name as a debtor, is callous and an attempt to disparage me. I feel pained that people who have worked to the levels of command and leadership are made targets of press war, mischief and ridicule. I have no banking relationship with FCMB. I haves never opened any account with the bank, talk more of borrowing from it. This is scandalous", he stressed.Uzodimma accused his political detractors for being behind his listing as a debtor and urged the bank not to allow itself to be used by political detractors. The Senator urged his detractors who relish in dragging his name to the mould at any given opportunity, to focus on more productive things for the good of the country and Nigerians than denigrating him. | Malaysia confirms plane debris washed up on Reunion Island is from Flight MH370 Posted: 05 Aug 2015 12:12 PM PDT  "The international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370," he said in a televised statement  The plane's disappearance was without precedent. At every stage, we followed the tiny amount of evidence that existed. But, despite the efforts of 26 nations and the largest search in aviation history, from the South China Sea to the Indian Ocean, the plane could not be located. Neither could investigations by the world's leading aviation experts answer why MH370 veered off course and went dark. While the plane's disappearance remained a mystery, we have shared the anguish of those who could find no comfort. Last week, on 29th July, we were informed by the French authorities that part of an aircraft wing had been found on Reunion, the French island in the Indian Ocean. Today, 515 days since the plane disappeared, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370. We now have physical evidence that, as I announced on 24th March last year, flight MH370 tragically ended in the southern Indian Ocean. This is a remote, inhospitable and dangerous area, and on behalf of Malaysia I would like to thank the many nations, organisations and individuals who have participated in the search.   |

| Angry woman openly accuses NEMA of stealing relief materials meant for IDPs Posted: 05 Aug 2015 09:12 AM PDT  The coordinator for NEMA, Sa'ad Bello was briefing deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu who was in the state to assess the conditions of the IDP camps when the woman interrupted their discussion and accused the agency of theft. "It is a lie. We are not well taken care of. We only eat twice daily and it is always rice. They sell the material brought to us. They also buy cows with money meant for our upkeep, please we want to go home," she said. The obviously angry NEMA coordinator rebuked the woman and described her as being mad. |

| 12,000 Nigerian refugees repatriated from Cameroon Posted: 05 Aug 2015 07:53 AM PDT  The authorities in Cameroon believe Boko Haram members are entering their country, disguising as refugees. NEMA says the repatriated refugees have started arriving home through the border post in Sahuda, Mubi South, Adamawa State and are currently being screened by the Nigerian Immigration Service and other security agencies. 1,121 of them have been screen, out of which 650 have been transported to Borno State while the remaining are still at Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons camp in Yola. |
| President Buhari's anti-corruption mere noise-making, diversionary, witch-hunting – Fayose Posted: 05 Aug 2015 07:50 AM PDT  Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has taken a swipe at the Federal Government anti-corruption stance, describing it as mere noise-making, witch-hunt and diversionary tactic to hoodwink the public into overlooking the seeming failure of the government to deliver on its electoral promises. The governor said; "If President Buhari knows exactly where the stolen funds are kept and who looted the funds, he does not need all these public announcements.Rather, he should make public names of the looters and bring back the purported stolen funds, location of which he has identified. It is when he is able to bring back the money that he should make announcements of recovered funds." Governor Fayose who spoke through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said; "You don't announce a process to the public. Rather, you announce the results because that is what is of interest to the people. It is like you are announcing that you know where armed robbers reside, won't they change their location?" Speaking further, the governor said; "What the All Progressives Congress (APC) spin-doctors and their collaborators in the Presidency are doing is simple. It is such that when there is nothing to tell the people as per the rising Boko Haram attacks, Dollar and other foreign currencies exchange rates, petrol pump price and other seeming failed promises of the APC federal government, they will accuse former President Goodluck Jonathan and his men of corruption, insult Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and make noise about fighting corruption. "President Buhari and his men should however know that Nigeria of today is different from that of 1983 and the system under which they are operating now is also different. Nigerians are watching and unlike 1983, nothing can prevent them from asking questions, which they are already asking." While challenging President Buhari to start the anti-corruption fight from his party, Governor Fayose said Nigerians know those who sponsored President Buhari's election and are waiting for the President to reveal their sources of income. "Some of those who sponsored the President's election have not done any other jobs apart from holding public offices. Yet, they provided private jets and funds with which the President campaigned across the length and breadth of Nigeria. He should let Nigerians know where they got money to buy private jets and the several billions of naira spent on his election. "Mr President and his men should know that these planned efforts to brand PDP as a party of corrupt people and supress the giant strides of the Jonathan administration won't work because Nigerians know that APC is peopled with more corrupt people and the President must treat the issue of corruption without looking at political parties. "No one sits with corruption to fight corruption because as it is today, President Buhari is sitting among corrupt people and he must first extricate himself from the comity of corruption that he is before his anti-corruption stance can be accorded respect." |
