Kris Jenner forbids Kim from divorcing Kanye West?

Posted: 25 Nov 2014 12:17 PM PST

Some of these foreign media outlets have no chill at all, they keep writing that Kim and Kanye's marriage is crumbling. Radar Online now claims Kris Jenner has forbidden Kim from divorcing Kanye over fears another divorce could ruin her career. The report below...
As Kim Kardashian's marriage to Kanye West crumbles, RadarOnline.com has learned that her momager Kris Jenner hasn't exactly been a sympathetic ear. According to insiders, she's forbidden her daughter to divorce the rapper, telling her she needs to keep her fame in focus and avoid another divorce debacle like she had with Kris Humphries!
"Kim told her mom that she and Kanye are arguing and Kris said that she better fix it because her career won't survive another divorce," an insider told Radar. "It was kinda of threat. Kim's career is on top now and she doesn't want her to screw it up."
But despite Jenner's best intentions to help her daughter avoid going through that again, the source said the momager is really part of the problem between Kardashian and her man.
"Kanye wanted to take over more of Kim's career when they got married and he's started doing that, but Kris won't allow him to have 100 percent control," the insider said. "She wants control and so does he, because he's thinks of himself as a visionary and feels like he sees things differently than Kris."
Summed up the source, "Kanye and Kris don't see eye to eye."

I am a cancer survivor- Prof Wole Soyinka reveals

Posted: 25 Nov 2014 11:01 AM PST

Literary Icon, Prof Wole Soyinka, revealed today at a press conference in Abeokuta Ogun state, that he's a cancer survivor. He said his appointment as a board member of the African Cancer Centre made him undergo a routine checkup last year which revealed he had cancer. He said he diagnosed with the disease in December 2013.
"It never occurred to me to test myself because men have their separate test like women and I have heard people who lost very dear ones, closed ones. They just told me, 'Prof, we hope you're having your own?' And I told them I had one 10 years ago and he said, "No, no, do it regularly." And by accident in December last year, I discovered that I had cancer.".

Prof Soyinka who is cancer free now after undergoing a vigorous treatment that ended in October this year, said although he was uncomfortable speaking about his experience, he was obligated to speak about it now so as to get rid of the public perception that being diagnosed with cancer is a death sentence
"For me, this is not a decision which I like but I felt I have all obligation, being a member of African Cancer Centre, and also having even donated a performance during the festival, fund raising for cancer, I am under obligation to make it known and to also demystify cancer. Many people feel it is a death sentence. Family feel it; friends, colleagues, they begin to look at you as if you are a ghost once there is rumour you have cancer. No, cancer is not a death sentence, it is curable, I have undergone the treatment and I am able to tell you that I even have a model, that's my certificate." he said

If you lie to someone to make them sleep with you, new law makes it considered rape

Posted: 25 Nov 2014 10:39 AM PST

I know some men will find this ridiculous but it's a bill being introduced by a male lawmaker in NJ. It's called 'sexual assault by fraud' and if passed, I'm sure a lot of men & women will be charged...lol.

Find the report from nj.com below
Imagine this: A man woos a woman to bed with tales of his riches, fast cars and a vacation home in Monaco. But he actually lives in his mother's basement.
Or this: A seemingly wealthy widow convinces a younger man to sleep with her on the notion that they may marry and he'll inherit her money. In reality, she's broke.
In both cases, someone lied about his or her status in order to have sex with someone else. Under a bill recently proposed by a south Jersey lawmaker, such actions would not only be considered dishonest. They could prompt charges of rape.
Earlier this month, state Assemblyman Troy Singleton (D-Burlington - pictured above) introduced the bill (A3908), which would create the crime of "sexual assault by fraud," which it defines as "an act of sexual penetration to which a person has given consent because the actor has misrepresented the purpose of the act or has represented he is someone he is not."

Singleton decided to introduce the legislation after talking to Florence resident Mischele Lewis, who had been duped into paying $5,000 to her boyfriend, Cherry Hill resident William Allen Jordan, for what he claimed was a security clearance. Jordan said he was a British military official, but it turned out he was a serial bigamist and scam artist who pleaded guilty to defrauding Lewis on Nov. 10.
Prosecutors had initially tried to charge Jordan with sexual assault by coercion, but a grand jury refused to indict him on that charge.

"I truly believe that we have to look at the issue of rape as more than sexual contact without consent," Singleton said. "Fraud invalidates any semblance of consent just as forcible sexual contact does. This legislation is designed to provide our state's judiciary with another tool to assess situations where this occurs and potentially provide a legal remedy to those circumstances."

As written, the bill doesn't consider sexual assault by fraud any less serious than other types of sexual assault that are already on the books. It could be a first degree or second degree crime depending on "the circumstances surrounding the act," punishable with 10 to 20 years in prison in the former and 5 to 10 years in prison in the latter.
"The punishment aspect, that part we didn't touch. The prosecutors and the judges and the jurors would be able to use discretion," Singleton said.

Singleton said that he's open to refining the bill so it's not abused.

"It's my intention, as the bill is moved through the amendment process, to ensure that while we allow for judicial discretion we don't want unintended consequences," he said.

The issue of "rape-by-fraud" is the subject of a new book by New York City resident Joyce M. Short, who said she married a man who lied about his age, marital status, education and military service, among other things.

_MG_7333.jpgJoyce M. Short is the author of "Carnal Abuse by Deceit: How a Predator's Lies Became Rape"
Short, who has met with Lewis, said, "(Jordan) hadn't threatened her. Quite the contrary. He had seduced her. But he had seduced her through a hoax, through a fraudulent means. And just like Bernie Madoff is in prison because he stole money from people by defrauding them, someone can vitiate your knowing consent by defrauding you in order to have sex."

Short said that one of the main objections people have to the idea of sexual assault by fraud is equating it with violent sexual assault.

"My response to that is there are many ways to sexually assault a person. Violence is one of them. And there are no words that can come to relating the horrible violation of a person when that happens to them," Short said. "But we should not look asunder. We should not simply cast away the concept that people are defrauded of sex."

According to a memo by the Office of Legislative Services written at Singleton's request, at least five states — Tennessee, Alabama, California, Colorado and Montana — have some sort of crime for sex by fraud. In Alabama, it's a lesser offense than rape.

Alan Zegas — a prominent New Jersey criminal defense attorney who has represented many defendants accused of sexual assault — said the Singleton's bill is far too broad and probably would not survive a constitutional challenge.

"What if a man were to say to a woman 'I love you' and engage in sex and he really didn't love her? It could be as simple as that," Zegas said. "The definition is so broad that it doesn't put the citizens of the state on fair notice of what it is that constitutes the crime."

Yale Law Professor Jed Rubenfeld in a 2013 article for the Yale Law Journal said that "'Rape-by-deception' is almost universally rejected in American criminal law," but that it shouldn't be because "courts have held for a hundred years in virtually every area of the law outside of rape, a consent procured through deception is no consent at all."

Rubenfeld said that in many states that do have statutes on rape by fraud, it's only if the perpetrator impersonates the victim's spouse or dupes the victim into having sex for medical reasons. But Rubenfeld said that's because the case law is based on an outdated definition of rape that wasn't really about the victim's consent, but about her virtue.

"Rape law's exclusion of almost all sex-by-deception claims followed from the fact that in such cases the woman had willingly had non-marital sex. Though deceived, she had willingly surrendered her virtue and thus could not claim rape,'" Rubenfeld wrote.

Adesoye College: Raising Young Leaders Since 1987

Posted: 25 Nov 2014 07:26 AM PST

New entrance exam underway - By Oladeji Bamidele

It was the great Nelson Mandela who said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." The late Mandela, or Madiba as he was fondly called, spoke from experience. It was his famous determination of educating himself in the best possible way, despite the restrictions of apartheid and being locked up for 27 years, that eventually helped him to not only become the first black President of an apartheid-free South Africa, but in leaving a legacy of forthright leadership, forgiveness, and inclusiveness for the whole world.
At Adesoye College, the importance and potency of a good education is well understood and encapsulated in the school's mission: To raise total leaders through commitment, freedom and responsibility. Founded in 1987 by the illustrious entrepreneur Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye, Adesoye College has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious schools in Nigeria. This is illustrated by influential and well-to-do Nigerians, who often prefer to send their children to boarding schools especially in England, choosing instead to have them educated at Adesoye College. The list includes former presidents, serving governors, ministers and others in similar positions of authority.

The reason for such confidence in Adesoye College is the school's pedigree. Sitting on 300 acres of scenic high ground in an exclusive area of the serene Offa Town, the setting of the school is conducive to education and learning. While the centre of Offa Town is 1.5km away from the school, Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, is 45km and Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, is 65km away.
In such a tranquil location, Adesoye College provides a safe environment where students are inspired, the culture of hard work encouraged and academic excellence realised. With the motto "God the Almighty," the school instils a spirit of service, self-motivation, and self-discipline as the basis for leadership while inculcating the pursuit of excellence in all spheres of school life.
As a result, students of Adesoye College routinely place among the highest scorers in all national examinations, including WAEC, SSCE, NECO and JAMB. It is also worthy of note that, at Adesoye College, parents can monitor their wards' performances online. All they need are their wards' admission numbers and unique passwords which are sent to the parents via email.
The current Principal of the school, Mr. Kenneth Webley, served in leadership positions for over a decade at Sarasota High School, Florida, USA. There he gained recognition for "developing and implementing a new vision to meet the needs of all students." He also succeeded in directing the school through a comprehensive visioning program which received recognition from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), one of the six regional accreditation organisations recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Before assuming duty as the Principal of Adesoye College, Webley also reengineered 'Exceptional Education' program at Sarasota High School which became a national model in the United States. Among other achievements, he is credited with collaborating with a mathematics teacher on a specialised program to improve Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) passing rates, resulting in more than 89% of students passing the FCAT, an annual test given to students to measure their skills in the areas of reading, math, science and writing according to Florida's Sunshine State Standards.
In bringing his expertise to Adesoye College, Webley has publicly declared that: "Organisational effectiveness ultimately hinges on the development of a collective mission/vision. I have led schools through the process of identifying these two critical pieces of a strategic plan in two continents. Additionally, I am dedicated to creating a Learning Environment that is data-driven, student-focused and professionally collaborative. I offer over 20 years of international educational experience in both established and emerging economies."
Webley recently announced that Adesoye College is now in the process of conducting entrance examinations for new students. While the forms can be purchased on the date of the exam at the different venues, or filled online at the Adesoye College website (www.adesoyecollege.org), it should be noted that all exams are scheduled to start at 10:00AM prompt.
On Saturday, 29 November 2014, the exams will take place in Abuja, Ibadan and Kaduna at the following venues:
Abuja- Olumawu Nursery & Primary School, Plot 211 Adetokunbo Ademola
Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.
Ibadan- All Saints Church School, 22, Bashorun Apampa Street, Jericho, Ibadan.
Kaduna- Juniors International School, 3A Danmadami Close, Off Degel Road 2, Kaduna.
On Saturday 6 December 2014, the exams will take place in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Warri at the following venues:

Port Harcourt- TransAmadi International School, Off Shell Quarters, 32 St. Andrews Street, Rumuobiakanni, Port Harcourt.

Three months after their fairytale wedding in France, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were witnessed having a blazing argument on their Sydney hotel balcony.
Just hours after reuniting in Australia for the first time in weeks due to their hectic separate schedules, Brad was seen throwing his arms up in a frustrated manner. Angelina meanwhile, appeared to be tired, upset and defeated.

Brad, 50, downed a Crown Lager at the early hour of 10am and the pair were both seen clutching cigarettes as their intense discussion raged on. Industry insiders tellWoman's Daythat the tensions could be down to Ange's hectic workload in the past year.
The couple, along with their youngest children, 6-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, were in town for the world premiere of WWII movie Unbroken, which director Angelina shot in NSW and Queensland.

Presidency refutes MURIC's allegation of Jewish symbol on N100 note

Posted: 25 Nov 2014 06:22 AM PST

Presidential spokesman Reuben Abati, has reacted to criticisms leveled against President Jonathan by the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, over an alleged Jewish sign on the yet to be released N100 notes. The Director of MURIC in a statement said that Pres. Jonathan was attempting to turn Nigeria into a Zion state through the introduction of a Jewish sign on the yet to be introduced N100 centenary commemoration note. Below is Mr. Abati reaction to the allegations...
"Our attention has been drawn to a press statement issued by the Muslims Right Concern and signed by Prof. Ishaq Akintola who is the Director of the group which made a number of allegations against President Jonathan while alleging that there is a Jewish symbol in the proposed commemorative new N100 note which will be officially issued on December 19. I find Prof. Akintola's allegations rather curious and they can be dealt with as follows:

First, he needs to be told that President Jonathan is not anti-Muslim as he alleges. President Jonathan is the President of all Nigerians, whatever may be their beliefs. It is not true that President Jonathan is using the highest office in the country to promote Zion nation. I think that is a most unfortunate statement coming from Prof. Akintola of MURIC and for which they owe President Jonathan an apology.

Two, the MURIC's director also alleged that Muslims were marginalized in the national conference. Again, this is a very unfortunate thing to say.

The truth is that national conference organised by this administration has been praised and described as probably one of the best of such conferences ever organised in this country. It was a purposeful conference, a conference in which a lot of maturity was displaced. Religion did not become a big issue in that conference. Rather, the conference became a platform for addressing many issues of general concern to various groups, ethnic or religious. MURIC cannot claim not to know that that was a very successful conference.

Three, MURIC is also alleging that the security system in Aso Rock is saturated with Israeli security operatives. This again is a blatant lie. There are no Israeli security operatives saturating the security system in Aso Rock. To convince himself that this is true, we will like to invite Prof. Akintola on a visit to the Presidential Villa, to see whether indeed it is Israelis that are in charge of security.

The security operatives in the Villa are not foreigners, they are Nigerians and there is no connection with Israel whatsoever." On the Jewish sign said to be on the N100 notes, Reuben Abati said it is a sign of security which would be used by Nigerians to determine if the note is original or fake and is not a religious sign as speculated by Prof Akintola. "The premised of the issue that formed the basis for Akintola's vituperation is wrong and he is misinformed. The symbol his statement is referring to is the Star of David. There is no where on that proposed note as indicated in the specimen that has been widely publicized where there is any Jewish or Zionist symbol or the Star of David.

The Star of David is a hexagram which is two triangles of equal lines superimposed on each other. The hexagram is a very popular symbol but it is not on that naira note. The symbol that he is referring to is not a Jewish symbol. It is what they call spark security feature. It is an optical magnetic feature which enables the public to authenticate a currency note whether it is genuine or counterfeit. That is the function of that particular design.

That design is not an hexagram and it is not in any way associated with Israel or Jewish or Zionism. It is two squares merged into one with a Manila briquet, which is a symbol of the cowrie money used during the colonial era. It is an attempt on the part of MURIC to cause disaffection because on the design of that note, the value of that note is written out in the three major languages in Nigeria, recognised in the constitution: Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa. No attempt has been made to use this proposed naira note to discriminate anybody and the attack on President Jonathan is undeserved, unwarranted and totally unkind. I believe that MURIC will see the need to quickly apologise for misleading the public and for issuing that kind of statement that can cause disaffection against the President" he said
