Scary stuff! Full transcript of Shekau's recently released BH video

Posted: 01 Nov 2014 01:44 PM PDT

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau allegedly released a video yesterday October 31st where he said a lot of things, including that all the abducted Chibok girls have converted to Islam, that they have all been married off, and that there was never a ceasefire agreement with the Nigerian Govt. Below is the full transcript of the video he released...
"Without wasting time, we hereby send a message to the tyrants of Nigeria and other infidels as well as their world tyrants as a whole in Hausa language.
"You people should understand that we only obey Allah, we tread the path of the Prophet. We hope to die on this path and get eternal rest in our graves, rise up in bliss before our Lord and enter Paradise (quotes from the Koran). Our goal is the Garden of Eternal Bliss. May Allah protect us.
"Oh you followers of constitution, have you forgotten your laws? Since the time we were preaching in Maiduguri, in your constitution in Section 8, verse (paragraph) 2 to 3, in your accursed book called Constitution, which became law for those who are not fair to themselves on earth.
"You shamelessly declared in your radio and newspapers that you were fighting those determined to establish an Islamic state.
"Because of that constitution that barred us from preaching in Maiduguri, we moved out and migrated as Allah ordained (quoting from the Koran).
"Have you forgotten that? And it is you today claiming we made truce with you? In what way did we make truce? Which kind of negotiation, with whom? That your Danladi, the infidel like you, who we will not spare and will decapitate if he falls into our hands today?
"Where do we know him, not to talk of him representing us? Who is Danladi on this earth?
"Allah knows everything. Allah is witness (quoting from the Koran).
"Therefore I tell you (that) we have not made ceasefire with anyone. Only battle, hitting, striking and killing with gun which we long for like tasty meal. This what we believe in and fight for.
"Our goal is to see only Koran being followed on earth. This is our focus.
"It is said Chadian President, Nigerian ambassador, the people of Cameroon and us met and agreed on a truce. How? Don't you know we are still holding your German hostage, always crying. If we wish we hack him or slaughter him or shoot him. We fear no one but Allah. This is our job.
"When did we release Chibok schoolgirls that we seized, those that Shekau who is now talking, seized, brought them and kept them in the place he chose for more than six months now.
"Allah has proved too difficult for the infidel, Allah has proved too difficult for the tyrant, Allah has proved too difficult for the United States, Allah has proved too difficult for a plane called drone, bastard. Allah has proved too difficult for everyone. Allah is mightier than everyone.
"Surprisingly, if the women of Chibok, I mean the mothers of the Chibok schoolgirls and their fathers, if you know the condition your daughters are in today it could lead some to convert to Islam and some to die from grief.
"Don't you know the over 200 Chibok schoolgirls have converted to Islam? They have now memorised two chapters of the Koran. They have seen themselves in the Books of Luke and John that Christians have corrupted the Bible. Girls from Chibok confessing Islam is the true religion! A six-grader, liars.
"We married them off. They are in their marital homes. (Laughter)
"Fury upon fury. Shekau can infuriate. It is said Shekau is leadership position. Which leadership? Do you think we are practising traditional monarchy? (Laughter). It is the same Shekau whose father is Muhammadu, his son is Muhammadu, his name is Abubakar. It is the same Shekau, he is still the one. Shekau, eat the heart of infidels since infidels want to disobey Allah.
"We did not negotiate with anyone. We did not negotiate with anyone. We did not negotiate with Chad. We did not negotiate with Cameroon. We did not negotiate with Nigeria. We did not negotiate with the Chadian ambassador. We did not negotiate with Africa. We did not negotiate with Asia. We did not negotiate with Europe. We did not negotiate with America. We did not negotiate with the United Nations.
"What is negotiation? We did not negotiate with anyone. It is a lie. It is a lie. We will not negotiate. What is our business with negotiation? Allah said we should not (quoting from the Koran).
"We follow the Koran. We will not be teased by any infidel. Now you don't know what to do, you want to convince your leaders that are tired of you, that have realised your lies, including your Solomon Dalung, your Abdullahi Wase, your Senator Ndume.
"They are tired of you, they have realised you are deceiving them, you are playing with their intelligence, you just want to protect your own interests. It is bad for you.
"I'm only making this speech for those people who want to convert to Islam. I don't care whatever you say. What is my business with you? Allah is my focus. I left my parents' home. I left my mother and my father, I left my relations and joined those who want to practise Islam (quoting from the Koran). And you are trying to deceive people with negotiation.
"I thank Allah. I started with knife and today I have seized more than 20 of our armoured vehicles, they are in my possession.
"It is said Shekau is a position. Bravo to you Orator. Well done to you who studied in Israel. Well done to you the expert in Psychology, well done you expert in Biology, well done you believer in 'I pledge to Nigeria my country'. This is what you said.
"You pledge to Nigeria your country. Right? Me, me Shekau I pledge to Allah my God. If you don't know, today you will know.
"I pledge to Allah my God, to be faithful. This is Shekau. Idiot like you!
"This is just my speech in brief.
"You should repent and turn to Allah and follow the Koran. You should follow the Koran. You should follow the Koran. You are so unfortunate as to be preventing those who follow the Koran obeying Allah. "It is a lie. It is a lie. Whoever refuses to listen will be dealt with by Allah."

TV personality Stephanie Coker asks: Do Nigerian men prefer braids to weaves?

Posted: 01 Nov 2014 01:31 PM PDT

Beautiful TV personality, Stephanie Coker writes. Read below..

It's no secret that women in Nigeria spend crazy amounts on weaves, some with the hope of completing their package to find "Mr Right."
I often rock braids and big twists, and have noticed that I get a different type of attention and compliments from men in comparison to when I wear weaves. This got me thinking, "Do Nigerian men prefer braids to weaves". Is the preferred hairstyle by our men the cheapest of them all? I asked some guys what they love about braids and these were their responses:

You will always know when women with weave have been in my room as their hair sheds as if they are cats, which I hate.

It looks more natural and makes black women look less artificial

Braids that are done well allow men appreciate the beauty in a woman

I love my braids and they are easy to maintain, but it can get a bit boring.

What do you guys think? Does your man, brother, dad prefer braids to weaves?

Would you like to study Beyonce and Rihanna as a course in uni?

Come April 2015, students at the University of Texas, Austin ‎will be‎ adding a new course that will focus on Rihanna and Beyonce. This new course,  Beyonce Feminism, Rihanna Womanism, will not be available until Spring 2015, but the University has already released some details about the curriculum.

According to the University, "They will not be simply listening to Beyoncé and Rihanna for fun or even comparing the roles of Beyoncé and Rihanna in popular culture, rather, students will be studying how the lyrics, music videos, and actions of these women express various aspects of black feminism such as violence, economic opportunity, sexuality, standards of beauty, and creative self-expression."

The course, according to its listing, "Hopes for students to understand the role black feminism plays in culture as well as everyday".

A number of colleges have already made similar moves; including ‎Georgetown University which offers a sociology course based on Jay-Z, Harvard University which offers a course on Tupac Shakur and Rutgers University which already offers its own Beyonce course titled "Politicizing Beyonce."

Another day, another bird turns into woman in Lagos. (see photos)

Me, I don't understand all these witchy witchy stories. Is it not possible that these people are mentally disturbed individuals instead of witches? I just received these photos and according to the people who claim they witnessed it, a bird suddenly dropped as it was flying by and it turned into the woman above. When people gathered around her, she allegedly confessed to killing four people this week.

This incident happened at Imulokanle street, Ishaga bus stop off Ebule Egba Ekoro road, Lagos. They say she's been wondering around since she fell and they want the police to come take her out of their area. See more photos after the cut...

In case you haven't heard, TV & radio broadcaster Dayo D1 Adeneye, is going for Ogun State House of Assembly under APC. Below is a press release to know more about the man. Enjoy...
History was made last weekend as one of Nigeria's renowned entertainment guru and media baron, Otunba Adedayo Olumide Adeneye(D-One) joined the political race on a mission to rescue and rebuild the future of his people at Odogbolu Constituencyof Ogun state, South West Nigeria.
The Entertainment guru and co-founder of Primetime Entertainment who is vying to be a member of the Ogun state House of Assemblyunder APC  has been in consultations with various interest groups in his Odogboluconstituency before now.
Otunba Dayo Adeneye who has been frequently summoned by his people at the Odogbolu constituency of Ogun state finally succumbed to the yearnings of thousands of young and old people in the constituency who want him to bring forth his innovative leadership to the development of his people in Ogun state.

D-One who is coming into politics with an over two decade career which cuts across education, broadcasting and business management is seen as one of the biggest assets for the much desired "Change" that has become the lead philosophy of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Ogun state and the entire country.

Acceding to the demand of his people last weekend during a meeting with leaders of thought and youth in Odogbolu constituency of Ogun state, D-One said "The invitation is an invitation to service and I am quite humbled to bring back home the entire knowledge I have garnered around the world, to change and lead. To whom much is given, much is equally expected and because my root is here I am ready to sacrifice my all for service"

Born Adedayo Olumide Adeneye on March 23rd1960, D-One and his partner and "twin brother" Kehinde (Kenny) Ogungbe revolutionalized the entire Nigerian entertainment and broadcast industry in 1996 at their return from America where they both studied Mass Communication on a master's level with emphasis on Radio and Television Production while D-One also acquired a BSc in Business Administration

Their innovative ideas and touch of genius with Nigeria's first  twenty four hour radio broadcast  with Raypower FM  heralded a new all round the clock culture that later became the standard for local radio broadcast in Nigeria. D-One and his partner, Keke achieved the same culture with Television broadcast as their innovative ideas brought about the massive success of AIT all subsidiaries of DAAR Communications owned by High Chief (Dr.) Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi.

D-One had his primary education at St. Catherine's Nursery and Primary School, Surulere between 1970 and 1975. He later moved to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state where he obtained his Higher School Certificate. D-One had his first work experience at THRIFTY Corporation Los Angeles, USA where he worked between 1986 and 1989 as an Assistant Manager before he was promoted to the post of a manager before he resigned three years later.

The very dynamic Odogbolu born media icon later went into a seven years teaching experience at Inglewood, Los Angeles; he worked with several education institutions at Los Angeles Unified School District, California, USA where he taught all subjects including mathematic , English, Science and history. For three years he was put in charge of gifted student's class at the elementary school (6th grade). He was a member of California Teachers Association (CTA) between 1988 and 1989 and also a distinguished earner of the California Teacher's Credential /Certificate.

In 1996, he returned to Nigeria with his brother and partner Kenny Ogungbe on the prodding of Keke's in-law Chief Raymond Dokpesi to establish Raypower and AIT.

At DAAR Communications PLC, D-One served as Program Manager of the group with prime duties of creating contents and coordinating air talents for both the radio and TV arm of the media group.  He held the position between 1996 and 1997. He was later promoted as Marketing Director of DAAR COMMUNICATIONS PLC and served in that position between 1997 and 2001. He was saddled with the prime responsibilities of sourcing revenue for the group through sales of air time, sponsorship (Both programs and special events) and coordinating the entire marketing staff of the group to ensure a reasonable meet-up of monthly and yearly target.

As marketing Director of DAAR COMMUNICATIONS, D-One's office developed a corporate relationship with top leaders in Cooperate Nigeria which includes GLO, UNILEVER NIG PLC, Coca-cola PLC, MTN Nigeria, Zain Nigeria and Guiness Nigeria PLC to mention a few.
From 2001 till date; D-One is the Co-CEO, Primetime Entertainment which is prized as Nigeria's best entertainment Television and Radio program with an African entertainment perspective.  He also seats as director on boards of several groups which includes Sierra Global Communications Ltd and DC Group

Despite his £350m spacecraft crashing, Richard Branson still wants to fly to space

Posted: 01 Nov 2014 05:06 AM PDT

I'm sure you all heard what happened yesterday...billionaire businessman Richard Branson's £350m Virgin Atlantic experimental Spacecraft called the SpaceShipTwo crashed after an explosion during a test flight over the Mojave desert in California, killing one pilot, and seriously injuring the other. The spacecraft broke apart soon after it was detached from the launch plane that carries it to 45,000ft

Despite this, Sir Richard has vowed to carry one with his attempt to reach space. He is due to arrive the scene of the accident to see the wreckage of the experimental plane he'd hoped would take him, his family, and paying customers, beyond Earth.

Writing on his website while en route, Sir Richard said it was "one of the most difficult trips I have ever had to make. We've always known that the road to space is extremely difficult - and that every new transportation system has to deal with bad days early in their history. Space is hard - but worth it. We will persevere and move forward together".

Some celebs were even scheduled to join him in the spacecraft to go to space...to see gini biko? Hope after this, people will rather remain on earth.

The Glow Within; My Simple Life by CharlyBoy

Posted: 01 Nov 2014 03:02 AM PDT

Article written by Charly Boy...Enjoy!
As Charlyboy, I know lots of people will swear that my life is complicated but sorry, not quite. The truth is that as Charles Oputa, my life is very ordinary and a bit boring because I choose "simple" happy life. Thank God I don't live as Charlyboy in my house. I have nothing to prove to my family, except to love, protect and fend for them. That alone is a full time job, free mejare.
Some people assume say, because ebe like say small pepper rest for my hand, I just dey wan yarn 'anyhowly'. Being financially secure certainly can help open opportunities, relieve stress, and offer some peace of mind. But can all the money in Naija make you happy if you are unable to feel happiness from WITHIN? Make we check de matter. This piece is not for people who just exist, but for those who have become INCAPABLE of counting their small BLESSINGS.
Sure, some people have advantages in certain areas of their lives. There are those who have lots of money, some are physically on point, some have extraordinary intelligence, etc, but I know that some of us also have advantages over other people in different areas of our lives as well. I never measure my humble success by how much money I have, instead I define it with how much happiness I can activate in me and in others, even as jungle don mature, my inner peace is golden for me, and the positive contributions one can make to his environment, profound.

From my great Father, Justice ChukwudifuAkunneOputa, I learnt the art of contentment; I also learnt that the universe gives us a playing field where we all have the opportunity to reach our 100%. That means if 100 people decided "happiness" was their goal, that goal is equally attainable for each and every one of them, only the path and time it takes to get there will be different.

For the sake of this happiness, peace of mind and the little contributions one makes to enhance their environment, I have finally defined my no go territories. Things I will not waste my precious time on, because I no send anybody.

1. Relationships and friendships that don't bring any value to my life, weytinI wan take am do. I am an "ALL" giver so I need to be mindful and careful of TAKERS who don't understand the dynamics of giving. This is why it is so important to set your own value, as well as create and maintain healthy boundaries because regardless of what the other person does, it's ultimately up to you to choose what is acceptable in your life and what isn't.

2. I am a hunter for positive clean spirits who see goodness in many places, you all know I have Virgins, not in the physical sense of the word, that's why I always make it a point to surround myself with positive and proactive people who will lift my spirit and inspire me to live life to the fullest! Certainly no room for crappy people, when all they carry is toxic energy, Tufiakwa!

3. I am learning to worry less, it's not easy but I'm trying so hard, God help me. I know that worrying about something that may or may not happen won't change anything - and you miss out on the opportunity to make the present great (which in turn could possibly have influenced tomorrow in a positive way!) I'm learning to let go of excessive worrying, because really, what's the point borrowing from the future. If we worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, that means we have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, we have to worry twice."

4. Thank God I never worry about what people think about me, especially those that I know talk out of ignorance or not well informed about my put outs. I see my world through eyes of my own personal life experiences and interpretation, and so does everyone else. For long now, I have understood that when someone has an opinion of you or your life, it doesn't make it a fact unless you agree that it is. You don't need anyone's permission to set your worth, so why depend on the approval or disapproval of others. In this area of my life, I'm a master, who born dem.

5. I never try to change people, but with those I see that are hungry to be better, I give them impetus to be the best of themselves. I appreciate the differences; they are what makes this world interesting. So who the hell can change my attitude, thoughts, or actions so they can feel more comfortable or secure? No one,dem never born dem. Even my late father tried and failed.

6. I live in my own world, in that worldna only me be Oba. I never compare myself to others or set my standards based on someone else's expectations, God forbid. This way the only human being in this world that I have left to beat, is my achievements of yesterday. I no struggle nothing with anybody.

7. I don't mind it when I'm broke, when things are not moving according to plan. The hardship I have encountered in this life, most of them has been self-inflicted, just because I'm use to the hard way and hard life. I avoid setting limits to what I can achieve in my life by remaining in my personal comfort zone, because when you break out of your comfort zone is when you grow the most. I have let go the need to be comfortable all the time."Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" ~ Neale Donald Walsch

8. Just as I don't bloody worry about what others think of me, I avoid judging others and their life choices. The only life I get to live and is responsible for is my own, so I leave others to live their own lives full out. Doing so frees me up to live MY life to the fullest.

This write up is really not about me, it's about some of the qualities that has helped me stay focused and tenacious in my pursuit of happiness and peace, and I know when one attains that kinda' height, you take things a little easier because at the end of the day, we just can't take anything with us when we depart. So I am an advocate of creating our own mini Heaven on earth, not by the material things we surround ourselves with, but the contentment, peace and happiness we have learned to cultivate in our lives. Are you a learner?

Emergency response in Lagos..is it still working? Photo

Posted: 01 Nov 2014 02:06 AM PDT

That's not a dead man so it's not a graphic pic. Apparently he was knocked down by hit and run car at 10pm yesterday Friday October 31st. The person who took the photo said for two hours, the man was breathing, that they called 767 and 112, but all they got was that emergency response were on their way. But he said until he left the scene around midnight, the emergency response team hadn't shown up, and there was no traffic at this time as the road was free.

So, we need to know; does emergency response work in Lagos? Why does it take them forever to get to the scene of an accident? The relevant authorities need to look into this biko...

Also, you need to understand that you have more potential than you believe you do...than people believe you do. If you believe in yourself, in your dreams and you focus, there's absolutely nothing you can't do. You have to understand that you have as many hours in a day as those that are successful, so why are you wasting time? There's a powerful driving force inside of you that you need to unleash.

Start today. Work hard, work smart and you will shine amongst those who never believed you could.
Happy new month!
May all you dreams come true!
