Local vigilante ‘recapture’ Mubi, drive Boko Haram out

There are reports that members of the Civilian JTF, a local vigilante in Adamawa state have "recaptured" Mubi town from Boko Haram members after they launched a daring night time attack  between yesterday November 12th and today Nov 13th, defeating the insurgents and driving them out of town.
Confirming the development to Premium Times, the director of press to the Adamawa Governor, Phineas Elisha, said the synergy between the vigilante group and the Nigerian military helped to chase the insurgents out of the town which they captured two weeks ago



"His Excellency, Governor Bala Ngilari, has confirmed that the combined efforts of the Civilian Vigilante and the Sarkin Bakan Gombi as well as the military has successfully chased away Boko Haram from Mubi town. Some of them (Boko Haram) ran away through Askira Uba and others through Mubi South and the situation in Mubi now is quite different from what it used to be." he said

Nuhu Ribadu's kidnapped younger brother regains freedom

5 days after he was abducted by unknown gunmen at his farm in Adamawa state, Hon Sani Ribadu, the younger brother of former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu has regained his freedom. According to a family source, he returned unhurt. It is however not clear whether any ransom was paid for his release.

Talk-show host Wendy Williams thinks Kim and Kanye are grooming their daughter, North, to follow in Kim's footsteps. She said this during her Hot Topics segment yesterday.

Wendy explains,
"A lot of people are like she's a mother why is she still doing stuff like that? I look at it and say, 'Well North is being groomed to do the same thing...so to North this is going to be a big deal in terms of looking up to her mom.'" 
"I look at it say, 'Well you're somebody's wife now.' But I get it, cause Kanye was probably in the corner [clapping] talking about Yaaass! Yaaaas Hunty! Pose Girl!"

Celebrities and members of the society have joined a new movement tagged #iambroken an initiative of positive like minds coming together to create solutions to immediate problems facing the society

The #iambroken  campaign is a reminder of the state of mind of the African youths who have been disappointed by so many societal factors. It is a cry for change.
 
The duo believe that before a problem is solved you must accept that there's a problem in the first place.


The Lamboginny & Clayy project started with a massive awareness campaign on Ebola virus disease at the Nanti Village of Snake Island, where they donated free hand sanitizers to every member of the village. They also gave out scholarships to kids in Lagos. They are also involved  in paying for surgery for kids whose parents can't afford it. Going forward, the broken project will include more scholarships, concerts and donations.

A trader at Alaba International Market Ojo, Lawrence Ikonne has been arrested for allegedly killing a buyer, Isa Yaya over the price of his secondhand air conditioner.

According to reports, the incident happened at Ikonne's house at Afromedia Estate, Okokomaiko, Lagos where Ikonne had invited Yaya to. When they got to the house, the two of them went inside a room to bring out the air conditioner, and then they started haggling over the price. Yaya allegedly insisted on buying the air conditioner below N5, 000- a price which did not go down well with Ikonne. It resulted into a fight and Ikonne allegedly hit Yaya with a plank resulting in his death...


 
During interrogation, the suspect said:
"I had not met the young man before. I met him that morning at the Alaba market, and asked him to buy one of my appliances: an air conditioner. He actually looked like a cart pusher. When we got home, we both went in to remove the product, and we brought it outside for negotiation. As we continued, he said he would pay less than N5, 000. I replied that he should assist me to return it to where we took it from, but he refused. In the process, we started fighting. He even asked me to pay him for helping me bring it out. I was mad, and I hit his belly with a plank. When I realised he had fainted, I tied him with a rope and dragged him into a corner. I also fled the house." 
It was one of Ikonne's co-tenants who noticed Yaya's tied up corpse, raised an alarm, and reported the case to the Okokomaiko police station.

Youtube sensation Betty Butt of Twerk Team shot dead in Atlanta

Betty Butt, one of the original members of the popular Twerk team group, has died. The beautiful Youtube sensation who was popular for her twerking skills was shot dead yesterday November 12th inside her apartment complex in Atlanta.

According to police reports, Betty and her boyfriend were walking to her house when three men approached them and shot them both at point. The unnamed boyfriend survived but Betty died immediately from a gun shot wound to the head. The Police are investigating the murder.

Hunters kill over 75 Boko Haram men, recapture Maiha town in Adamawa

According to reports, about 75 Boko Haram men were killed this week by local hunters in Maiha town, which is about 25km from Mubi town in Adamawa State.

The hunters also recaptured their town which was captured by the insurgents this past Monday. The local hunters, armed with rifles, machetes, bows & arrows, ambushed the insurgents as they came to fight with the Nigerian military in their town and killed as many of them as they could.


Following the attack, many residents of Maiha fled to Yola over fears of reprisal attacks from Boko Haram, who are known to re-group and take revenge when their members are slaughtered.

But the hunters and other vigilante groups say they are no longer running, that they have decided to stay and fight to keep their land and family safe. Thousands of youths have since signed up to confront Boko Haram insurgents in the state.

British journalist, TV host and Editor-at-Large of MailOnline, Piers Morgan says all Kim 'haters' can kiss her ass because she has done nothing wrong. The tweet crashed into my feed like a teasing tornado. 'You can't un-see this: Kim Kardashian shows off her famous backside,' it read.
For once, the tease more than lived up to its promise. As with Man landing on the Moon, Mandela walking free from his prison cell, and Derek Jeter's winning hit in his last game at Yankee Stadium - it was a photograph that will be forever etched in the memory.
I clicked on the link – how could any red-blooded male NOT click on that link? – and there she was, butt naked and balancing a champagne glass on same said butt, splashed across the front cover of PAPER magazine with the headline: 'BREAK THE INTERNET, KIM KARDASHIAN'.
Which is exactly what she nearly did as the startled world scrambled to view, disseminate, debate and deliberate over the single most examined and infamous derriere in history. (A bold claim, but think about it and I'm right).

Predictably, the abuse and ridicule began to pour in as fast as the gasps of shock, awe and admiration.
Ms Kardashian-West was apparently a 'slut', a 'terrible mom', a 'disgrace to the human race,' 'a dumb, trashy b***h' etc.

Of course, she's heard it all before, ever since that sex tape was leaked and propelled her into the kind of instant, gigantic cyberspace notoriety that can either crush a woman or make her so strong and impervious to criticism that she builds a $1 billion brand.

Kim's in the latter category and people hate her for it.
They resent her global fame, her immense wealth, her marriage to one of the world's most brilliant music icons. Above all, they loathe her resolute refusal to bow to all the bitter venom that spews its way in her direction.

It's time for me to make a shocking admission: I like and admire Kim Kardashian-West.
I interviewed her soon after I joined CNN and found her to be a warm, unpretentious, honest and rather charming young lady.
When I mockingly asked her to name a single talent she possessed, she smiled knowingly and made no attempt to cite one.

But then she thought about it more and said: 'Actually, I think being an entrepreneur is a skill, marketing is a skill, and so is fashion designing. My sisters and I are smart enough to understand that having a successful reality TV show is just a platform for people to get to know us on a personal level. 
'But for us, we've always been about the business – selling our fragrances, shoe lines, clothes. And we've always been about hard work.'


As for her roundly condemned status as a role model, she told me with calm conviction: 'I think I promote a healthy, natural body image.'
She admitted to using Botox, Spanx and the odd piece of masking tape to aid the daunting red carpet process. But she insisted she'd never had plastic surgery, and was happy and confident with how she looks.

I have studied her face close up and seen nothing to contradict this; Kim's a natural beauty.
She also revealed she gives away 10% of her income to charity. That, as you can imagine, is a lot of money.

In a stunning illustration of her power, I ended the interview by asking her to look down the camera and order her Twitter followers to follow me. They did, over 60,000 of them in 20 minutes.
Since then, I've met her a few more times at parties. She's always exactly the same – friendly, chatty, and completely lacking in the searing insincerity and delusions of grandeur that so many stars with 'real talent' exude.

There's also an absurd hypocrisy with regard to which female celebrities are allowed to bare their flesh without criticism.
When Keira Knightley stripped topless recently, she explained it was strictly to make a protest against air-brushing. Hmmm.

When Rihanna, Madonna or Beyonce gyrate their booties on stage, it's done in the name of 'art'.
When all the supermodels got their kit off for PETA, it was excused under the banner of 'helping the animals' .

When Demi Moore posed naked and pregnant, it was applauded, not castigated, because she's a great actress and the photo appeared on the cover of prestigious Hollywood bible, Vanity Fair.
When Chelsea Handler does it, which seems to be every day at the moment to diminishing laws of aesthetic return, it's heralded as 'comedy genius'.

But when Kim Kardashian-West does it, in a photo session conducted by highly acclaimed French photographer Jean-Paul Goude, she is lambasted.

She's 5ft 3in, has spectacular curves in all the wrong places if you're a Size Zero catwalk star, and can't sing, dance, act, paint or play the violin.

Yet she survives and thrives because millions of young people around the world find her both real and someone they can relate to. They appreciate that she's got a very smart eye for business, fashion, television and social media. And an even smarter eye for self-publicity and nurturing her brand.
Kim doesn't take drugs, get drunk, fall out of clubs, cheat on her man, or do any of the other insanely louche things that stars with far greater 'talent' often do.

She works ridiculously hard, is good to her fans, and is by all accounts a good, loving daughter, sister, wife and now mom herself.

She was also, lest we forget, pursued, wooed, and won by a genius who professes (and I believe him) to love Kim for her mind as much as her coveted body.
Kanye West's reaction to this wife's latest controversial cover photo was to simply tweet this: #ALLDAY.
We knew what he meant.

Oh, and nobody can call her talentless any more either.
As she herself tweeted: 'And they say I don't have talent – try balancing a champagne glass on your ass! LOL.'

I laughed out loud at that comment, just as I did when I first saw these new photos. She's a cheeky little minx at the top of her game.
Kim Kardashian-West's laughing all the way to the bank. And all you lazy, snide, snobbish, patronising and hypocritical critics can go kiss her ass – there's plenty of room.

The issue of cheating on a loved one is at its peak, hurting people is just criminal and kills them slowly, this time of the year is usually what I call cheating time because, one we are in a season of showoff all you have accomplished for the year, be you married, single or what ever class you belong.
The truth is that everyone must blame someone for the wrongs happening to them, but are we really looking at the right source? I would try and break it down as much as I can. The first gender I wanna tackle is the male gender, single and married.
The truth about cheating is that is a habit, and everyone knows habits are things you have done often over a long time, as a young single man, you found pleasure in going in and out of relationships because getting out was a cool way of avoiding the problems you encountered in your relationship, this ultimately meant you also kept sleeping with different women and hence you already picked up a habit, unknowingly!
Soon you began to do two or more relationships at once, instead of learning how to groom a relationship and cherish it, you schooled yourself on finding joy in screwing different women, soon you grew into a man who wanted a wife and kids which ultimately meant you wanted a home, but you have never succeeded in being with one woman or surviving hard times in a relationship, you didn't learn how effective communication could fix issues before they become serious problems, your way of getting over issues was being with someone else.
Getting married doesn't automatically change your habits. You should mould your character before Marriage. Now you are married, with a wife and kids, of course you have been cheating on her the minute she got pregnant or as soon she started to have stretch marks and added weight, she can't do all she used to do to rock your bed, because your focus as always been on sex, you no longer see any reason to communicate with her and tell her what u fink, BOTH OF YOU, can do to better your sex life.
You will rather resort to your usual way of doing things, "get on the next available flight leading to no where"
Your problem dear married randy men isn't your wife, your problem has been you, you have lacked character from a young age, you never had time to know what was required of you in a relationship, there is a thousand things to learn in a relationship, that's why you are allowed to date before you get married, you don't learn communication by jumping around, you don't learn how to be satisfied with what you have by not adding value to it, you don't learn to adapt to the changes that comes with what you have, if you never really spend time understanding how to adapt to the changes and maximize it, if you never been through a good change before, how do you find strength in going through a new one?
Forget the single girl out there, you made a vow to your wife! Fear God, be a man and keep it. if you are in a relationship, stay there! Make it work, learn, grow, don't jump around looking for the easy way out, because you will discover that over time you have not grown in intra-personal relationships. so when you get married tomorrow when your wife no longer has all the energy for your always eager manhood, you would give her your company rather than your absence, because the reason she lost her shape, her firm breast, the reason she is no longer as good as she used to be is all because of YOU. 
Secondly young men you must strive to fear God, no one likes to hear this part, there is a popular saying, it is hard to change from what you are used to doing, thou shall not commit fornication! It sounds difficult and silly but check out the adverse effect it would have on your tomorrow! If the woman you will get married to tomorrow is your first sexual encounter how would u then learn cheating at old age? How would you know that if your wife who is no longer a little girl who has sex with you all the time just to keep you, doesn't have such time anymore because she now has ALOT to take care of, that when she doesn't give it to you, there is a lazy girl out there waiting for a few thousands in exchange for her pride?
Men and young boys we seriously need to work on our character and relationship with God. We make women fight and hate themselves, because we are a not grown character wise, we make it look like these women are not good enough! You enjoy watching them fight over you? It isn't because you are special its because they don't really know who you are and what they should want! 
Fornication creates the habit of always wanting sex, sex creates the urge to always want to blind give so as to avoid any resistance from the woman, that habit gives birth to not having enough....that habit has given birth to who you are now! A RANDY SERIAL CHEATING GROWN KID!

Oh my! Man survives being speared by 15-inch piece of wood (pic)

How did he survive this? The medical staff at a Polish Emergency ward were surprised when 40 year old Kamil Podwinski calmly walked into their medical centre with a 15inch piece of wood stuck right through his head.

According to New York Post, Mr Podwinski was renovating his home in Konin Poland when the freak accident happened. He reportedly told the nurses he was working when he slipped and fell face first onto a sharp piece of wood. The wood entered his face just below his eye socket and came out through the back of his neck. And he survived. He actually took himself to the hospital.


At the hospital, the staff had to call the fire service department because they'd never dealt with something like that before and were scared they might cause more injury trying to remove the piece of wood out of the man. The fire service arrived the hospital and helped the medical team remove the wood without causing further damage.

The incident has since been described as a miracle as the man who was calm through out the ordeal, didn't suffer serious injuries and is recovering in the hospital.

Abuja Preparatory School: Science Fair Exhibition

Our Young Scientists at Abuja Preparatory School will be hosting its maiden Science fair Exhibition at the School premises on Saturday the 15th of November 2014 from 11.00am.

It is the week of Science and Peace so come one come all and experience this investigative and explorative exposition at the school. Children and the entire community are encouraged to appreciate the importance of Science in the peaceful nature of our present world. 




Experiments will be carried out on various aspects of life including health and exercise, animals and what we eat (food).

The children will have the opportunity to apply scientific methods to conduct independent researches. The result of each child's research will be presented at the Fair; the children's efforts will be displayed and assessed to determine the scientific merit. Children who have been judged to have used the scientific method properly and who have demonstrated thoroughness in their studies and efforts will be awarded prizes. 


 
The benefits of this project goes way beyond learning science, it is amazing fun!!!!!!

Man accuses Nigerian soldier of killing his friend & stealing his car

A Nigerian man, Abdullahi Hassan Ali, has accused an unidentified Nigerian soldier of allegedly killing and stealing from his friend, Mohammed (pictured above), who was kind enough to give the soldier a lift in his car. Ali claims the soldier killed his friend, threw his body out of the car and drove away in the car. Possibly a robber in a military uniform. I can vividly remember those days when Mohammed was in my office as a student on industrial attachment (IT). He was such a gentle being will high hopes for the future.Although he appeared to be a quite and gentle person,but he is the kind of person that speaks alot when actualy says nothing at all.Moreover,i used to like him because he was a physics student from the same department i graduated in UNIMAID.It is so unfortunate that his life was cut short by a Auto-theft soldier that shot him and got away with his car.
Mohammed, being a generous and gentle soul gave the soldier man a lift in his car,and the soldier man shot him,threw him out of the car and ran away with it. Some good samaritans found Mohammed beside roadway bleeding to death and hurriedly decided to rush him to the nearest hospital, but poor Mohammed never made it to the hospital gate. Mohammed struggled and managed to narrate the unfortunate incident to his helpers before he died.The soldier man was later arrested with the car, and is still under custody. May almighty Allah forgive all his mistakes and grant him Aljannah.Ameen.
