Dear LIB readers: Is it wise to resign my oil & gas job and focus on my husband's biz?

"My husband has just advised I resign my oil and gas job so I can focus on a business he started years before we met and married. It is our belief that every family should own at least one business of their own. As much as I buy into that belief, I am hesitant to resign my oil and gas job as I don't know whether it would be a wise decision for me as a wife to abruptly just resign. Would it also be wise for me to insist that we have a legal framework where we have equal ownership of the company? Am thinking this would cause a friction between us. I'm also making a lot of money where I work now and I don't know what things will be like working with my husband. I really need your advise.

According to Sahara Reporters, Boko Haram men launched a fresh attack on Sabon Gari, a village in Adamawa state which is predominantly inhabited by Christians, in the early hours of today.

Residents of the village, which is on the border of Borno and Adamawa state, said several members of their community were slaughtered by the sect men as they were heading to church this morning.

Students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) will tell tales long after the electrifying concert, raffle draws, exciting football competition and motivational seminar wrapped together in the Etisalat CliqFest, the education and entertainment event powered by EasyCliq, which held recently at the UNILAG campus.

 

Day One of the Cliqfest brought life values to the undergraduates at a seminar themed 'Success Activation', facilitated by seasoned motivational speaker and President, Fifth Gear Consulting, Niyi Adesanya, who took the students through principles of success, as they emerge into the corporate world or start their own businesses.



Celebritiessuch as Terry G, Phyno, Skales, and MC Galaxy thrilled the students on Day Two when the three hip-hop singers leapt on stage to perform one hit song after another. The Winner of Nigerian Idol Season 4, Evelle Zibili, also gave a soulful performance at the event.



The peak of Cliqfest UNILAG was when 200 level Social Work Student, Ibrahim Olaribigbe Yusuf, emerged winner of a brand new Kia Picanto.



Elvis Daniels, Head of Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, thanked the management and students for making the programme a success. A surprising country has topped Google's rankings for searching for pictures of gay sex. Anti-gay laws and strong social stigma appear to be doing nothing to abate the curiosity of everyday people – with Kenya's searches for gay sex outranking those of all Western countries.
Kenya tops the Google trends rankings for both 'gay sex pics' and 'gay porn pics', with an extraordinarily high search index.
South Africa came second, followed by Nigeria and Pakistan, with the US & UK ranking a distant seventh and eighth.
92% of the Kenyan population agree that homosexuality is 'unacceptable', while having sex "against the order of nature" in the country can carry a prison sentence of up to 21 years.
The Anti-Homosexuality Bill would introduce harsh punishments for homosexuality, with life imprisonment or the death penalty for 'aggravated homosexuality'.

Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, in a meeting this weekend, ruled out any specific date for the release of abducted Chibok girls but noted that their release was priority on government agenda.
"The true picture in Nigeria as far as insurgency in the North-East is concerned is that the war on Nigeria by the terrorists is still on. And, of course, from the onset of this crisis, government had indicated tackling the insurgency on three fronts: point of engagement, point of consultation and point of containment. And so, consultations definitely will continue: And don't forget that because of the prolonged nature of the insurgency, a lot of activities are going on, both at the level of government and the level of the insurgents.
"So now, the insurgents are divided into various sectors especially with the death of their leader, Shekau. (But I thought Shekau resurfaced in a video just recently? someone asked) the minister ignore and continued
"However, at the moment, our foreign partners and collaborators are helping and collaborating with Nigeria to arrive at a peaceful resolution of the matter and to bring the insurgency to an end. And one of the issues on the table in arriving to an end to the crisis is the release of the Chibok girls. It is one issue at stake as part of the resolution of the crisis.But for anybody to put a date on the release of the Chibok girls, that person is just being speculative, but we will certainly get there soon".

There have been rumours since September that Karrueche and Chris Brown are expecting a baby, and the rumour went into overdrive last night after Chris Brown's friend 'Wack$tar' posted the pic above on instagram with his hands on Karrueche's stomach and said he hoped it was a boy. Time will tell if she's truly pregnant. I doubt this is the way they'd want to announce it though...

Government declares curfew in Adamawa state

The Adamawa State government today Nov. 1st declared curfew in every part of the state following the increase in insurgency activities in some parts of the state, especially in Mubi.

According to a statement released today, the curfew is now from 5am to 9pm in every part of the state, and every resident has been advised to comply strictly with the directive.

27 year old South Africa national team captain and goal keeper Senzo Meyiwa, who was shot dead at his girlfriend's home by unknown gunmen last Sunday October 25th, was laid to rest today November 1st at the Heroes Acre Chesterfield cemetery - an honor that is usually reserved for outstanding figures from the struggle against apartheid.

About 30,000 South Africans gathered at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to bid the goalkeeper farewell. The funeral comes a day after it was announced that a suspect has been arrested and charged for his murder. He is survived by three children. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
