| The Face of Terror Suspect - Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche (photos) Posted: 15 Jul 2014 12:31 PM PDT  Following the conclusion of tortuous legal and diplomatic processes between Nigeria and the Republic of Sudan, the co-mastermind of the Nyanya Motor Park bombing in which scores of citizens died and hundreds wounded, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche was Tuesday, 15 July, extradited to the country from Sudan where he had taken refuge. Aminu Ogwuche who was handed over to the Interpol Unit of the Nigeria Police Force by the Sudanese Authorities was flown into the country in a special flight from Khartoum which touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 3.00pm today. It would be recalled that the terror fugitive who had long since been arrested in Sudan following an international red notice issued for his arrest by the Nigeria National Bureau of Interpol had not been repatriated to the country before now due to some necessary processes involved in transferring suspects from one country to another. Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc while commending the personnel of the Nigeria Police Interpol Unit for a job well done, noted that the successful repatriation of the terror fugitive to Nigeria shows that the global coalition against terrorism championed by Nigeria is beginning to yield the desired result. They should be ashamed of their actions. They also say it can destroy local crops. Continue... | Adamawa state Governor Nyako impeached, deputy resigns position Posted: 15 Jul 2014 07:03 AM PDT  The report, which was read by the State Assembly Speaker Umaru Fintiri on the floor of the House, found the governor guilty of all the 16 allegations of gross misconduct. 18 out of the 24 members of the State Assembly then signed a resolution removing the governor. The House then passed a motion that the Speaker, Umaru Fintiri, should be sworn in as the state's acting governor. According to reports, that will be done by 4pm today. Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor who was also investigated by the panel, had resigned his position earlier in the day in a letter he sent to the House of Assembly which was read by members and immediately approved. |

The suspect whom investigation reveals was tutored in the art of insurgency at Gombe Forest under the leadership of a fleeing insurgent, one Abba Taura and moved to Balmo Forest only three months ago, is discovered to have actively participated in the April attack against Customs officers at Kari Town, along Maiduguri Road, Bauchi State. | Oscar Pistorius in nightclub fight after a man confronts him over murder trial Posted: 15 Jul 2014 01:21 AM PDT  According to reports, Oscar went to a nightclub in Pretoria on Saturday night with his cousin & after some drinks, allegedly insulted South Africa's president Zuma and started acting "aggressive." He was allegedly pushed into a chair after he poked another clubber in the chest who asked him something about his trial. But last night, Oscar's spokesperson denied he behaved inappropriately inside the club, though she confirmed he was at the club and there was an incident. Continue... She said: "We can confirm that Oscar was at a night club with one of his cousins. They sat in a quiet area of the private VIP section when they were approached by the individual you have identified as Mr Mortimer." "The individual in question, according to our client, started to aggressively engage him on matters relating to the trial. An argument ensued during which our client asked to be left alone. Oscar left soon thereafter with his cousin. But still, they have this hope that there is still someone who can help them. They asked me if there is any chance for them to meet the President because at this time, they need the President's support, so I asked the President if it is possible for him to go and see them to encourage them and the President did promise me that he will meet the parents of these girls.
