Posted: 10 Jan 2016 11:26 AM PST The US kinda helped Mexico to recapture one of the world's most wanted man, Mexican drug lord, El Chapo, who stared selling drugs at 14 and was worth about $1billion before his arrest. They used a Hollywood biopic and a Hollywood movie star to recapture him. Read the report from TMZ below... El Chapo was one of the most wanted men in the world and Sean Penn knew exactly where to find him ... meeting with the drug lord for a long interview while he was on the run, and the actor clearly felt Chapo's star power.Penn did the interview for "Rolling Stone" and carried out a secret mission to meet the fugitive in a Mexican jungle. The actor hopped on a charter plane in L.A., flew to Mexico, met El Chapo's son and took another plane deep into the jungle, where the 2 met. During the interview, Penn was surrounded by more than 100 cartel troops. Chapo bragged he "supplies more heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana than anyone in the world." Penn asked Chapo about Donald Trump and his comments about Mexicans ... and the drug lord called Trump "Mi amigo." |

Fayose condemns Faleke, Audu’s arrest by DSS, says “Nigeria now under full-blown dictatorship” Posted: 10 Jan 2016 10:25 AM PST Read the press statement below... Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the yesterday's arrest and detention of the Kogi State Deputy Governor-Elect, Hon James Abiodun Faleke and Mr Mohammed Audu, son of the late former Governor of Kogi State and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu, as a confirmation of his prediction that penchant for dictatorship will rise this year with rampant disobedience human rights abuses by the APC government of President Mohammadu Buhari. The governor said even though Faleke and Audu were released very late on Saturday by men of the Department of State Security (DSS), Nigerians should by the arrest brace up for a full-blown dictatorship. In a statement issued on Sunday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said "it is now clear that Nigerians can no longer hold opinion different from that of President Buhari and his faction of the APC and this should worry lovers of democracy in the country." He said arresting and humiliating Faleke and Audu by the DSS, just because they choose to pursue their rights within the ambit of the law was a dangerous trend that all Nigerians, irrespective of political party affiliation must condemn. Governor Fayose said; "They started with Senate President, Bukola Saraki; later, the DSS invaded the Akwa-Ibom State Government House and those who should speak out kept silent because of politics. "The DSS moved against the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki, invading his residences in a commando liked manner and when he got order from the court for the DSS to vacate his house, the order was ignored. Up till today, Dasuki is still in detention despite that he was granted bail by the court and he met the bail conditions. "When all these happened to Dasuki, many of those who should talk, especially our so-called human rights activists kept silent because of politics. "Now that it happened to Faleke and Audu, members of President Buhari's party who are not on the same page with him on the Kogi State election, should we also keep silent because it is APC affairs? Definitely no! "We are not going to keep silent because we are not in this to protect the interest of any political interest. Rather, our concern is the survival of democracy, which is obviously being threatened by the forces that have turned the DSS to their agent of political victimisation. "Most importantly, Nigerians should know that tyranny does not know political boundary. The moment tyranny becomes full-blown, it does not even know its own family members. The only concern is its selfish interests and anyone that is against those interests must be pull down or whip to line." |

Witch-hunt: Jafaru Isa's Release Vindicates Us - PDP…Says EFCC Compromised Posted: 10 Jan 2016 08:58 AM PST Read the press statement below... The Peoples Democratic party (PDP) says the release of the associate of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC chieftain, Brig. General Jafaru Isa (retired) by the EFCC barely eight hours after arrest while its spokesman Chief Olisa Metuh remains detained and without being charged to court since last Tuesday, vindicates its position that this Federal Government is not fighting corruption but on a clamp-down mission on PDP leaders. The party said that its spokesman, who was arrested without invitation by the anti graft agency has remained incarcerated since Tuesday while the APC chieftain who even disregarded the commission's invitation and had to be arrested was quickly released after the EFCC boss meeting at the Presidential villa. The PDP in a statement signed by the National Legal Adviser, Barr Victor Kwon on Sunday said there can be no clearer indication that the APC-led administration is on a man-hunt against PDP leaders, and that it has a personal grudge against Chief Metuh, ostensibly for his stance as opposition spokesman, particularly his recent exchange with the government and the APC over their dictatorial activities. The party queried the action of the EFCC in freeing Brig. General Jafaru Isa, eight hours after his arrest last Wednesday night while Chief Metuh is still being detained even when the two are being investigated over same allegation of receiving funds from the office of the National Security Adviser. "The release of Jafaru Isa, a known associate of the President and chieftain of the APC eight hours after his arrest while our spokesman remains in detention even when the two are being investigated over same allegation, clearly shows that the President Buhari-led APC government is not fighting corruption but using the much hyped crusade as a cover to persecute PDP leaders and decimate the opposition, a project the EFCC has clearly yielded itself as a willing tool. "We have information of the marching order from the Presidency for the immediate release of the President's associate and that his issue is one of the major part reasons for the repeated visits of the EFCC Chairman to the Presidential villa within the period of his arrest. Of course, there is nothing hidden under the sun. "We ask, how can the EFCC now explain to the world that it is not corrupt and teleguided by the Federal Government to persecute PDP leaders? What happened to the illegal holding charge upon which it has detained the PDP spokesman beyond the limit stipulated by section 35(5a) of the constitution and in violation of his guaranteed personal liberty under the law? "Are there now two separate sets of laws; one for PDP leaders and perceived foes of the President Buhari-led government which allows them to be detained beyond constitutional limits without being charged to court and another set, for associates of the President associates and APC leaders, which guarantees them a slap in the back and immunity from investigation and prosecution, and if arrested, an immediate release? "Is it really true that the fund Jafaru Isa was alleged to have received from the former NSA was traced near the corridors of those who today bestride power in the country? Furthermore, can the Federal Government and the APC now in all honesty face the world and announce that this administration is indeed waging war against corruption? "Can the EFCC explain what has happened to several petitions by Nigerians on corruption issues against many APC leaders including those who as former governor looted funds belonging to their state? Are they now under immunity for the fact that they are in the APC and that most of the funds they looted where used to finance APC's Presidential campaign? "While we reiterate our support for any effort aimed eradicating corruption in our nation we stand our ground in demanding that the fight must be holistic, credible, within the limits provided by the laws irrespective of political affiliations. "The PDP therefore restates its demand that the EFCC immediately releases its spokesman, Chief Olisa Metuh or charge him to court if they have any case against him. His continued detention without being charged to court is only indicative of the fact that the commission has not been able convince itself of enough evidence of guilt and is now lending itself as a willing instrument of persecution against Chief Metuh. "The public will recall that the PDP is not given to frivolous claims as evidenced in many instances including our alert last year of a meeting between the Presidency, the then newly appointed INEC Chairman and top security officers just before the Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections. "Finally, we state with every sense of responsibility that now that it is clear, with the release of Jafaru Isa eight hours after his arrest, that the continued detention of our spokesman is politically motivated, this party can no longer guarantee that it can rein in its members and supporters who have been exercising restrain since this particular arrest by the EFCC. Nigeria belongs to all of us and the laws are made for all of us and must be applied on its values and spirit without political considerations. Signed: Barr. Victor Kwon National Legal Adviser |
Press Release From The producers Of The 93 Days Movie Posted: 10 Jan 2016 08:49 AM PST We hereby categorically and strongly deny all the allegations contained in the recent press statement released by one Dr Ama Adadevoh, who claims to be acting on behalf of the Cardoso and Adadevoh families. The said allegations are not only untrue they are malicious and scurrilous and a calculated attempt to sabotage our feature film, "93 Days". 93 Days is not the biopic of any one individual and has never claimed to be the story of Doctor Stella Adadevoh. Whilst that in itself is a strong story, we found it more compelling to tell a story that celebrates many of the heroes of the fight against Ebola. These include the doctors, nurses and staff of First Consultant's Hospital, the employees of the Lagos and Federal Ministries of Health, corporate and individual Nigerians who rose to the challenge of fighting the scourge as well as the WHO team that came in to help at the risk of personal injury and even death. For us, this presented a more universal story of human courage, dedication and sacrifice that may inspire our great country and its people. Ours is a pride story that shows Nigeria at one of its finest hours and casts our country in a positive light around the world. To ensure the universal appeal of the film we enlisted, at great cost, Nigerian and International actors to feature in the film. Amongst these were Danny Glover, Keppy Ekpeyong and Bimbo Akintola. We want to state plainly that we do not require anyone's consent to make the film as we have a constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of speech and expression. Besides, the matters portrayed in the film were derived from facts that are well within the public domain and those facts which were not already publicly known were provided to us by those privy to the said facts. For instance, we obtained additional information from interviews with the survivors of those who lost loved ones, volunteer doctors and nurses as well as officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Health. To honor those protagonists of the Ebola story it was essential for us that the film be, as much as possible, an accurate, genuine and sincere record of the facts relating to the country's efforts to fight the disease. In fact, that was the only way of doing justice to those brave individuals (and foreigners) who had given so much in the service of the country. To this end and contrary to the allegations contained in the press statement released by Dr Ama Adadevoh, we enlisted the help of the Adadevoh and Cardoso families from day one. They gave their comments on the script and their amendments were incorporated into the final script. Further, the late Stella Adadevoh's son, Bankole Cardoso, consented to the making of the film and to being portrayed in the film. Not only did he consent, he was kind enough to provide us with information concerning his late mother's actions during those trying times. The facts provided by him proved useful in the development of the script and we have his interview on film should anyone require further proof. In essence, the story of Dr Stella Adadevoh depicted in the film was obtained partly from facts provided to us by the Adadevoh and Cardoso families and more importantly by her son, Bankole Cardoso. We are aware that Dr Ama Adadevoh and certain elements within the family are involved in another film project on the Ebola story and are attempting to derail our film in the misguided belief that to do so would ensure the success of their film. It is plainly wrong for these people to try and monopolize the Ebola story exclusively for themselves by trying to prevent the making and release of a film that so many of the people concerned have supported and contributed to. Our film features many of the people who were in the vanguard of the fight against the terrible disease. Many of these people lost loved ones and made other sacrifices still unknown to a majority of Nigerians. They have supported the film and want their story told and it is only fair that their stories are told. In light of this, we fully intend to tell their story! In doing so we refuse to be bullied or cowed by empty, petty and ridiculous threats based on false and trumped up allegations. |

Actor John Dumelo shares his views on how best to treat a woman Posted: 10 Jan 2016 08:08 AM PST He shared his views on his Instagram page. Read below... My view on how to treat women. 1.Don't compare your wife to other women. You don't know what their husbands are going through. 2. Never expose your wife's weakness to your family or friends or run to them whenever you have issues. Problems are best solved between you and your woman. 3. Don't think you are man so you can use intimidation, shout or violence to communicate your moods. Agreesive men don't make a happy home. 4. Speak gently and calmly to your wife. Never raise your voice at her, it demeans her and shows you think she is stupid. 5. Do your responsibilities as man...don't leave every to your woman. 6. Never blame your wife if she doesn't take care of the home everyday. She is swamped with house work and helping you raise the kids. 7. Don't be wasteful spending money on drinks, friends and extended family. The wife and children are your first responsibility. 8. Sex is also important to women. Her pleasure should be considered before your own. 9. Never compare your wife to your ex-girlfriends. If you loved them so much why didn't you marry them instead of your wife. 10. Never shout down your wife or challenge her in front of the children. The children are watching. They won't listen and obey her too. 11. Tell your wife she's beautiful even if you know she's looking normal. Women love compliment. 12. Don't forget that women also want attention and someone to share their thougts with. Never be too busy for your wife. 13. A prayerful man is a better equipped husband. Pray always for your wife and family. Don't leave the prayers to your wife. 14.Treat your wife like a queen. Buy her gifts, take her shopping and once in a while, cook for her. 15.Please don't forget your these anniversary dates. Wedding ,engagement, the first time you kissed. I beg you. These dates mean a lot to women. (Don't ask me why). I also don't know. 16. Your mother should not have the final say in your marriage. You married your wife, not you and your mother. Let her talk in her own husband's house. 17.There are 5 days each month that you have to say "I'm sorry", "yes baby" and "I love you" more than 7 times a day. That's when she's menstrating. |
Photo: My Pastor asked me to lie that armed robbers snatched my boss’s vehicle - suspect Posted: 10 Jan 2016 10:00 AM PST A 25 year old company driver identified as Daniel Ogunlade has been arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos Police Command for stealing the official bus of a company which he works with. Tribune reports that Daniel who stole the car when he went on an errand for his boss, was tracked down by the police in Ifo, Ogun state with the bus. When interrogated, Daniel who had worked with his boss for three years, disclosed that he was on his way to the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja to pick up a guest of his boss when he received a call from his Pastor to bring the bus to their church. He said his pastor told him to tell his boss that armed robbers stole the bus and N150, 000 from him. "When I was on Third Mainland Bridge around 11.30 a.m., en route Muritala Muhammed International Airport to pick a client, I received two calls. One was from my father who told me that my mum was sick and the other one was from my pastor who directed that I should proceed to his church in Adiyan, Ogun State. As if propelled by forces beyond me, I headed straight to the church with the company's bus. This was contrary to my itinerary for the day, which was to wait at the airport for the client with a delayed flight, drop him in Ajao Estate and give some people N150, 000 and return the vehicle to Lekki. At the church, the pastor told me to drop the hamper for him, even when I told him that my boss said I should give it to someone at the airport. He then asked if I knew that the day, December 24, 2015, was Imoke Day. I answered in the affirmative, and he directed me again to join the church there. A church member, Oyetade, joined me in the bus and I was in Ifo to buy fuel when the bus stopped moving. I invited an electrician and he was about to start working on it when we the police came. I called the pastor at about 7.30 p.m. to inform him that the bus had stopped working and he replied that I should tell my boss that armed robbers snatched the bus from me. But I didn't know what to say when my boss called me. I can't explain exactly how I got to where the police arrested me. My boss was doing his best. He was paying me N60,000 monthly as salary. Though I am struggling with my finances, I never planned to steal the vehicle," he said. The suspect and his accomplice has been taken to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit, Ikeja, for further investigation. |

Posted: 10 Jan 2016 04:06 AM PST London-based Nigerian man and his brother-in-law have been jailed for a total of 14 years for their part in a 25 million pound internet fraud involving victims from 55 countries. Emmanuel Adanemhen, 50,(left) and Eduwu Obasuyi, 40,(right) pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to their part in sophisticated fraud and money laundering scams, which in some cases targeted the elderly and vulnerable. A Kent Police spokesman said that Adanemhen arrived in the UK as an asylum seeker in 1998 and had assumed the identity of a deceased Portuguese man by changing his name by deed poll and on driving licences. The fraudster then used the fake identity to open bank accounts to launder funds from bogus schemes, which included dating website scams, false inheritance scams, overseas lottery wins and shipping frauds. Police were led to Adanemhen after they apprehended Obasuyi, of Friern Road, East Dulwich, who was arrested as he was about to board a plane from London to Lagos, Nigeria. Detectives found that the two defendants had moved more than £4 million through their various accounts, which had come from victims in countries around the globe, including Germany, Norway, Switzerland, New Zealand, Canada, United Arab Emirates and across the USA. One elderly victim from Florida was conned out of $2.9 million, while police estimate the total victims have been conned out of to be more than £25 million. Adanemhen admitted to conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to enter into a money laundering agreement and three counts of fraud against the Home Office and the DVLA, which related to his fake documents. He was ordered to serve seven and a half years in jail. Obasuyi pleaded guilty to conspiracy to enter into a money laundering agreement, and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Detective Constable Paul Walker, from the Kent and Essex serious crime directorate, said: "This was a highly sophisticated criminal enterprise with Emmanuel Adanemhen and Eduwu Obasuyi at the heart of operations. "They were undoubtedly highly placed and trusted individuals, handling and moving millions of pounds obtained through devastating and cruel frauds played out on sometimes very elderly and vulnerable people." |

He said when he came out of the bank, a police officer pointed at him. "They come bum rushing me at the car, put me on the ground, putting guns to my head, so I'm like 'What I'd do,' "A lady was like I'm not supposed to have…$200,000 on me. I'm like, 'I'm a millionaire. How can I not have $200,000 on me?'" The guy's interview about the incident is the best part of this story. Continue Sam said someone inside the bank had called the police after he made the withdrawal. He said police told him that someone had written a bogus check previously. "They thought I did it too, but I'm legit. They confused me with whoever they were looking for."He said police initially took $100,000 of his cash, but later returned the money to him and apologized. Sam said he had withdrawn the cash to buy a Maybach, but after the incident at the bank, he said he was thinking about buying a Ferrari instead. He said he had $1.3million in his account.
