Buhari was not emotionally connected to the crying Chibok mothers- Ezekwesili Posted: 14 Jan 2016 12:39 PM PST Leader of the Bring Back Our Girls Group BBOG and former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has expressed her thoughts on the groups meeting with President Buhari earlier today. Speaking at the group's daily sit out at the Unity Fountain, after the meeting, Ezekwesili said Buhari was not able to emotionally connect to those crying mothers. "You heard all the parents said at the meeting, is it because we are poor? Is it because we live in the forest? Is it because we live in the village? But that has no meaning in any society, there is no basis for discrimination on the basics of social status, political view, religious belief and other primordial device against any citizen. In the feedback from the President you can see clearly that the President feels that he has given his best in the efforts to rescue our Chibok girls, our President however was not able to emotionally connect to those crying mothers. That is an important attribute but we will continue to demand and we will take up the responsibility that the NSA has taken and we will make sure that we don't stop until our girls are back and alive."she said. |
Terrorists now hide IEDS among vegetables- Nigerian Army Posted: 14 Jan 2016 12:15 PM PST The Defence Headquarter has revealed the new tactics devised by Boko Haram terrorists to hide explosives. In a statement released on Thursday, January 14, the acting Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar said this is a continuation with the sensitization of our citizens on the devilish strategy of the terrorists."The Nigerian Military authorities have discovered that the Boko Haram terrorists are determined to continue letting off bombs and have resorted to masquerading as fruits and vegetable vendors wheeling Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) as groceries into crowded areas," "The terrorists now hide IEDs under vegetable wares in carts and wheelbarrows and move to crowded places where they detonate them for maximum casualties. The recent terrorists attack in the North East is a case in point. ''Having been effectively dislodged and decimated the BH terror group has begun some systematic isolated attacks mainly on soft targets in their desperation to remain relevant''. The statement therefore advised Nigerians to be constantly on alert. "Defence Headquarters hereby advises the general public to constantly be alert to this latest terrorist tactics and to report promptly any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest security agency," "While commending the general public and the media for their continuous support so far, all citizens are once again reminded that security is everybody's concern therefore, they should join hands with the security agencies to eliminate the remnant of the terrorists." |

BBOG member expresses shock and sadness after meeting with President Buhari Posted: 14 Jan 2016 12:37 PM PST One of the frontline members of the Bring Back Our Girls Group, Aisha Yesufu, has expressed her sadness and shock at the outcome of the meeting the group alongside parents of the missing Chibok girls, had with President Buhari at the state house today January 14th. In an interview with The Cable, Aisha confirmed the President walked out immediately after addressing them while stressing that the abduction of the girls happened during the last administration: "The president said he had no credible intelligence on the missing Chibok girls. He said he is somebody who does not lie. And he will not start by lying. We are not saying the president should lie, but when you are saying there is no credible intelligence, and that the girls are scattered and married off; then how do we know? These are two things. And he said it (abduction of the Chibok girls) happened during the last administration. I find it very worrisome. I remember one of the parents asked what he meant by saying it happened in the last administration. Does it mean the girls will not be rescued? I would like the president to know that there is no vacuum in government. That it happened during the last administration is not an excuse. It is duty of the Nigerian government to ensure that the Chibok girls are rescued. It is their right and not a privilege. And where we have failed there is a need for us to apologise. As for me, I was terribly sad and shocked because the president did not look at the parents to say 'we are sorry as a nation for your children who have been abducted for 21 months'. The president finished his speech, he dropped the microphone and walked out. And I thought that could have been a moment for him to connect with the parents. We will continue our campaign. We do not care who the head of the government is. It is duty of the Nigerian government to rescue the Chibok and we will continue making our demands. The government should stop the excuses." she said. |

Al Ain Cancel Emmanuel Emenike's Contract before it's expiration, send him back to Turkey Posted: 14 Jan 2016 08:54 AM PST Al Ain insist Emmanuel Emenike did not do enough to prove his worth to the United Arab Emirates club, hence they decided to send Emenike packing on Wednesday. The 28 - year old retired Nigeria international joined Al Ain from Fenerbahce, on a season long loan deal last summer but the agreement between both clubs and the striker will be cut short, with a move to the Chinese Super League, which is a possibility for the Nigerian. Al Ain have already signed Brazilian striker Douglas as a replacement for Emenike. Al Ain chief Mohammed Obeid Hamdoun confirmed to journalists that Emmanuel Emenike will depart the Dubai club this January. He has one team from China and parent club fernabache that wants to take him back. In the press statement Hamdoun said: "Sometimes you bring one big name and he doesn't want to play, that's my opinion on Babel and Emenike. I think they didn't want to play here. "I saw Emenike in the World Cup with Nigeria and he was a good player. But when he came here he scored only seven goals. With the local players we have here? "Zlatko Dalic , boss of the team also wished him all the best at his next club, he said: ''I want to say thank you to Emenike and Babel for the last six months with us, I wish them all the best next season at a new club. This is football, this is life. Also, we did everything that our fans wanted of us." |
Woman rates restaurant low on TripAdvisor, their reply is just baffling Posted: 14 Jan 2016 08:41 AM PST For a lesson in how not to engage dissatisfied customers, look no further than this restaurant, Bennett's cafe and Bistro in High Petergate, York. A customer took to TripAdvisor to vent her frustration with their service and rather than offer a simple apology like any establishment that seeks to keep its customers and stay in business would, they offered her an unsolicited tutorial in business and ended it on a sarcastic note. Lol. See it after the cut... The complaint... And the reply |

Posted: 14 Jan 2016 07:10 AM PST A company has created childlike sex dolls for paedophiles who want to control their sexual urges. According to the founder who admitted to being sexually attracted to children, the dolls may well be a valuable weapon in the fight against the sexual abuse of real children. Shin Takagi founded Trottla, a company which produces anatomically-correct imitations of girls, with ages as young as five. The company has been going for a decade, and has clients all over the world and said they are a tool for those who, like him, who struggle with an ongoing sexual attraction towards children. "We should accept that there is no way to change someone's fetishes. I am helping people express their desires, legally and ethically. It's not worth living if you have to live with repressed desire." Takagi said his dolls save children from sexual abuse, and his clients - mostly men living alone - write and thank him for that service. "I often receive letters from buyers. The letters say, 'Thanks to your dolls, I can keep from committing a crime'" He said that these buyers include doctors, prep school teachers and even celebritie. |

Photos: 21-year-old girl brutally beaten, raped & mutilated for being a lesbian Posted: 14 Jan 2016 06:43 AM PST On Wednesday, January 13, LGBTI members took to the street to protest the senseless killing of Pasca. 21-year-old openly gay Matshidiso Pasca Melamu was brutally beaten and mutilated; a gruesome murder which has left her family, cops and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) community reeling in shock. Pasca died before she could find out that she had passed her matric exam. Holding Pasca's statement of results and a framed portrait, her mum Betty, 38 (pictured) said she was devastated by the loss of her child. The LGBTI members, joined by several political groups, took to the streets of Evaton, south of Joburg. The march started at the local filling station just a few metres away from Pasca's home. They wanted to raise awareness and demand the immediate arrest of her killers. Vaal LGBTI spokeswoman Kegomodicoe Mocoancoeng said Pasca's murder was a hate crime which should embarrass the areas and the nation as a whole. "It was a brutal murder because she was raped, mutilated and her body was also burned. This a clear indication that some members of society are not willing to accept us and yet they know of our existence. We want to see change because Pasca's killers are still roaming the streets," she said. Betty said Pasca left home on 16 December and never came back. "Four days later, we heard rumours about a girl who had been found murdered in Lakeside," she said The family called a local radio station where they were given a description of the dead woman. "We were told a girl with a tattoo on her leg and a gold tooth had been killed. We immediately knew it was our Pasca. We still can't believe she's gone. Who could do such a horrible thing to my child?" the heartbroken mother asked. |
