Photos: Lagos landlady arrested for allegedly connecting water well to NNPC pipeline

Mrs Floyinka Ayinda has been arrested and detained at Idimu division on charges of vandalism of NNPC pipeline in Isheri Olofin, Lagos, after a pipe water well was discovered to be connected to NNPC pipeline.

According to PM News, the 59-year-old landlady has been siphoning petrol illegally at her residence located at KML 1, LASU Road, Iyana Odo bus stop in Isheri Olofin, for the past three years.
 

Officers of the Anti-Vandalism Intelligence Unit Team B set up by Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, acting on a tip-off made the discovery. Ayinde allegedly admitted after her arrest that for the past three years, vandals has been operating in her house and she reported to the NNPC officials but they did not do anything about it.
 

She however denied her involvement in the act and claimed that her only mistake was by not informing the police because she relied on NNPC who asked her not to bother. The suspect further revealed that the NNPC officials use to come with a team and she did not ask to know whether they were really officers or not.

To prove he made the donation, he shared a screen shot of the transaction on social media which showed his account balance, over $13m.

She says her boss replied saying he needed his staff to be reliable and told her he was letting her go from The Hollybush pub where she had worked for three months. Enugu State Police Command releases statement on the discovery of three corpses at a building site

"The Enugu state command of the Nigeria police Force have commenced investigations into the incident of discovery of three decomposing corpses and also a skull by its operatives on 25/1/16 at about 4pm at a bush by Ugwuaji in Enugu along Enugu/Portharcourt Express road with a view to establishing the identities of the corpses, where they were allegedly killed from and the possible suspects amongst others"

Home based Super Eagles crash out of CHAN as they lose 0-1 to Guinea

The home based Super Eagles of Nigeria this afternoon crashed out of the African Cup of Nations tournament for home based players after playing out a 0-1 loss to the Syli Nationale of Guinea.

This was Sunday Oliseh's first major test as the Super Eagles coach. While Nigeria needed just a point to qualify through to the knockout stages of the tournament, Guinea needed the full three points and got a win over the Super Eagles.
 
Sunday Oliseh started Sunshine Stars attacker Tunde Adeniji in place of top scorer Chikatara but the team's lacklustre display in front of goal meant the technical crew had to rue that decision.

To show how badly the Super Eagles fared against the Syli Nationale, it took over twenty minutes before the team could muster a shot. Guinea took the lead after Daouda Camara eased past Nigeria's defence to lay an assist for Ibrahim Sankhon who slotted into the net.  
 
Coach Sunday Oliseh was forced to make an early substitution in the second half with the introduction of the team's top goalscorer Chisom Chikatara who was unfit to start the match. Chikatara replaced Paul Onobi.

Despite all the Super Eagles did in the second half they couldn't break through the Guinean defence and Oliseh's men had to settle for third place after getting 4points from three games.
 
Coach @SundayOOliseh apologized to Nigerians after the match on twitter 'We apologize to Nigerians for this loss, we never planned to exit the tournament this early. The boys gave their best.'

Major Graham Naingba (rtd), the Traditional Ruler of Amassoma kingdom and the first cousin of former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, says the funeral of the former governor who died last October, will commence on March 24th and end on March 26th. ‎

The monarch who is from Alamieyeseigha's village, said the deceased would have been buried on November 16 last year, the day he would have marked his 63 birthday but it was put off because of preparations for the state governorship election and lack of agreement between the state government and the deceased's family.

According to The Nation, the Monarch discredited reports that Alamieyeseigha faked his death to avoid being extradited to the UK. According to him, anyone who fakes his or her death in their village will die. ‎He said although the Chiefs in their community is yet to see his corpse, the former governor's death is true
"‎Alamieyeseigha is truly dead. I have heard people who claimed that he faked his death. It is not true. In Ogboin community, we don't fake our death. If anybody claims that he is dead and he eventually comes back, the person cannot live for more than three months. It is our tradition. Russian businessman, investor, politician and owner of Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich gave a £25 million yacht to Russian president Vladmir Putin, new reports claim. Dmitry Skarga, a former head of Russia's state shipping company, Sovcomflot, said the boat was a gift from Abramovich, who transferred it to the president via an intermediary associate.

The pair have long been friends but Putin's critics feel he has unknown energy business deals with the Chelsea owner.
"It's a fact that Mr Abramovich, through his employee transferred a yacht to Mr Putin," Mr Skarga told Panorama. Mr Skarga also alleged that the yacht is run and maintained with state funds, even though it is Mr Putin's personal property.
The allegations come as a top American official openly accused Mr Putin of corruption and direct embezzlement of state funds. There has been a lot of speculation about Putin's actual wealth value with Bill Browder, a hedge fund manager and vocal critic of Mr Putin, claiming that the Russian president is worth $200 billion, a sum that would make him by far the richest man in the world. But Putin's spokesman has called the allegations "complete trash." Mr Abramovich's lawyers called the claims about the yacht "unsubstantiated" and little more than a "rehash of speculation and rumours".

My name is Omolara Adebis. I was driving through the e tag express lane on the 19th of Jan 2016 with three other people in the car on my way from the office to pick my son from school. I had a balance not lower than twelve thousand naira on the toll account. The car's e-tag was scanned and the barrier remained open as usual for me to pass when the thing suddenly dropped on my windscreen as i passed through and the whole screen cracked almost crashing on my face.

I parked and they lead me to their office where they apologized and asked me to fill a form which I did. They were very apologetic and i just gave them my details without causing a scene. I waited for them to contact me and to my surprise they are singing another story. Now the claim is that the toll did not open for me it opened but for the car before me. A toll that closed when the car before me passed and opened again for me to pass? I expected them to show me the footage of the accident that day but they didn't. Now they say they have looked at the footage and i am at fault.
I suspect they have manipulated the video. Aunty my point here is that there was a toll malfunction that endangered the lives of all of us in the car and the LCC is refusing to take responsibility and trying to put the blame on a paying customer. I have attached the picture of the car and the form i filled. My car is a BMW X3. Please help me broadcast so i can at least get justice. It is very unfair to blame me for their mistake!

He met Hajia on a day he wasn't even hunting. Osezua had gone to the hospital to visit a friend who had undergone a major surgery when he saw her alight from a chauffeur driven, hunter green BMW. She looked like she was made of money. Regal was the only word he could think of. She was light skinned, with an effervescence that was peculiar to some North-Eastern Nigerians.

He wondered if he could ever have a shot with someone like her. Dripping with diamond and looking stunning for a woman of a particular age.
He stole another glance at her, their eyes met and he quickly averted his eyes, but not before seeing her smirk.

Damn! He had messed this up thought, he should have kept his gaze locked and not let her think him intimidated.
He turned around to redeem himself, but she had walked away.
He came back to the reception a few minutes later to make a call when he saw her again. She was looking intently at a documentary on contemporary art and he knew this was fate giving him a second chance.

He dug into his inner Barry White and asked 'Are you a collector?'
'Are you an artist?' she asked without turning around. He sensed she knew it was him. Her perfume was making him heady, sensual and all feminine.
'No'he said 'just a young man with a penchant for all things exquisite' He added suggestively.
She turned around, her eyes as cold as steel, up close she was even more stunning and breathe taking. She reminded Osezua of one of the senators from his state. He willed himself not to look away.
He held her gaze this time and she smiled, a smile that did not quite get to her eyes but did not diminish her aura.

'Are you obedient?' she asked pointedly
'Depends on who is instructing?' he replied
'I'll be'she said, scrutinizing him unabashedly. 'So, are you obedient?' she asked again
Osezua looked at her and said 'I am loyal and…'
She cut him mid-sentence. 'I have a Daschund, Yoshi it its name. Yoshi is loyal but not very obedient. Two different virtues Mr.…?' she waited for him to complete it.

'Osezua Omijie' he added quickly.  He was not thrilled at the comparison with her dog, but she didn't seem like one who should be kept waiting.
She whipped out a business card from a cold case holder. He reached for it and she held it back for a second 'Write down your number behind my card, I will call you if I have a reason to'
He did as she instructed and she walked away without telling leaving her name.
He hoped she would call, but he also wanted her to respect him a little, so he did not ask either.

She called him a week later and he heard 'So, Osezua Omijie, loyalty or obedience' she asked the minute he said 'hello'
'Who is this?' he feigned ignorance with fingers crossed that she did not hang up the phone.
'Meet me at Chop Sticks in Maitama at 9pm, you do know where that is?'she asked as though he wasn't expected to know.

'I know they make a crisp and tasty breaded prawn' he said
'A simple yes would have sufficed' she said 'Don't keep me waiting'
He wondered what kind of relationship theirs would be, she sounded like a dominatrix.

‎A gang leader/cultist in Lagos popularly known as Sunday Terror was killed by policemen from the Denton police station Ebute Metta yesterday, January 25th during a shootout in Ondo street, Lagos. Sunday Terror, who is said to be a menace and responsible for a lot of atrocities in the area ranging from robbery and murder, led his men to a unleash violence on a house in Ondo street, when the police was called. He was killed during a shoot-out with policemen.

There was reportedly wild jubilation as the Special Anti-robbery squad came to collect his corpse from the police station. He had been on the watch list of the Area C Command in Surulere, Lagos for a while now. A photo of his naked body after he was killed after the cut..

 

Carcas of burnt petrol tanker causing traffic at Iju Bridge (photos)

Last week, I reported a case of a burnt petrol tanker on the bridge linking Iju and Ajuwon, just by Grailland Estate. The fire has since burnt out but the carcass of the tanker is still lying there, half way across the road. This situation is causing a lot of traffic menace during the morning and evening peak periods. Above all, it poses serious danger to motorists, keke and okada drivers plying the route.

Motorists say it's been a trouble navigating through the bridge because of its narrowness, how much more now that part of the road has been blocked by the burnt tanker. Please the attention of the Lagos State government agency concerned with this is needed asap. These photos were taken today..

A LIB reader spotted this pregnant woman working as a bus conductor today at Ajah, Lagos. When he asked her if she was pregnant, she said she was 6 months pregnant but couldn't stop work because she needed the money. Inspiring and sad at the same time!
