After my fight with Bradley in April I will retire -Manny Pacquiao Posted: 06 Jan 2016 11:50 AM PST Manny Pacquiao has confirmed his fight with Timothy Bradley in the spring will be his last fight before he hangs up his gloves to focus on his political career. Pacquiao will fight Bradley for a third time on April 9 after losing to his biggest rival Floyd Mayweather in boxing's richest fight in history last May. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum said last week he did not believe his fighter would retire after fighting Bradley, but the 37-year-old set the record straight on Monday night. "I am retiring from boxing to concentrate on my political career," said Pacquiao. "My fight with Timothy Bradley will be my last." He also dismissed reports he would be delaying retirement plans in the hope of tempting undefeated Mayweather out of retirement for a rematch. "I did not say anything like that. Nobody interviewed me about that. I will retire after my April 9 fight," he insisted. |

Davido baby drama: Dele Momodu replies Ola Balogun Posted: 06 Jan 2016 11:36 AM PST Below is a statement from Dele Momodu on the ongoing issue with Davido's baby drama with his baby mama, Sophie Momodu. Dr Ola Balogun is a famous film maker of old. Read below... It is disheartening that while many well-meaning Nigerians have stepped in to intervene in the face-off between music superstar Mr David Adeleke, aka Davido, and the mother of his baby Ms Sophia Momodu, my cousin, a senior citizen and film-maker, Dr Ola Balogun, has chosen to cast aspersions on me for reasons best known to both of us. In a well-circulated comment he made in newspapers and on social media, Wednesday January 6, 2016, Dr Balogun maliciously attacked Sophia and I without caring to find out what led to the present debacle. Dr Balogun should please bury whatever animosity he has against me and join others in reconciling the families instead of pouring petrol into the conflagration... DELE MOMODU |

Posted: 06 Jan 2016 08:26 AM PST 29 year old Perpetual Ezenwa, has asked the customary court in Igando Lagos State to dissolve her four months old marriage to Charles Ezenwa, claiming the man started beating her less than 4 days after paying her dowry. Perpetual said she married Charles after dating him for less than 2 months and now seeks divorce over what the she tagged domestic violence. She said, "we married after courting for less than 2 months. Before I married him, I've started noticing his behaviors but when I told my father he said I should not leave him that he would change after our marriage. "I believed he said that because they are from the same village in Imo and being the first daughter of my parents, they want me to marry on time. But, he kept becoming worse and I've decided to leave after 4 months of our marriage. 4 days after the payment of my dowry and our traditional marriage, he started beating me on flimsy excuses. He beats me with turning sticks in one of those days all because I received a text message from a friend and the message only reads "good day madam, how's your weekend ". This was what Charles saw that day and he nearly killed me. Come to think of it, this same man that was beating me is having an affairs with a fiancée of one of our neighbors. He did was caught on one of those days and I got to know about it. I told my father of all the happenstance but he would only say I should endure it. When I couldn't bear it again, I've moved to my parent's house and I've asked Charles to come and get his dowry back according to our tradition so that I can marry another man but, he has refused to collect it saying he would allow me to suffer because he knew I can't marry another man unless he collect the dowry and that I would grow old in my father's house."She now wants the court to force him to collect back his dowry. Charles was not in court to say his side of the story, so the Court's president, Adegboyega Omilola who sat over the case sent a court order to him and the case was adjourned till February 8, 2016. |

Oh dear! See what this transgender woman did to herself with help of plastic surgery Posted: 06 Jan 2016 08:12 AM PST 56-year-old Fulvia Pellegrino, a transgender woman from Perevagno, Italy says she has spent £52K on surgery and plans to spend more until she reaches 'perfection' and she has the full support of her wife, Marissa. In addition to spending £9000 on her bum, Pellegrino has had more than 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, four breast implants, and two rounds of liposuction. Fulvia said: "I am not happy with my 'perfect' body, because it is not perfect. Perfection is something else." Fulvia was just fifteen years old when she first realised she was transgender. But fearful of her strict religious family, and her father who was in the clergy, Fulvia kept her feelings a secret. She said: "I was living with my family who were very narrow minded and very religious. I never manifested my will because it was impossible with my dad. He had three sons and he wanted three sons only." Even after she married Marissa Altare 32 years ago, she kept it under wraps but secretly frequented gay clubs and cross-dressed in the privacy of her garage. She said: "I was feeling trapped in my body. I hid in the garage and put make-up on dressed like a woman. I never showed that side of me because I was ashamed of it." Fulvia masked her turmoil and exaggerated her masculinity in public, buying guns and owning expensive cars. She said: "It is difficult to grow up with a body which is not yours. You try to mask it in every way playing football, drinking beers, buying American 4x4s and go shooting to feel like a man. Instead you understand it is a mask and so you need to throw it away and become what you are." It got too much to bear and finally, Fulvia came out to Marissa, that was in 2000, sixteen years ago. She said: "Obviously Marisa lost if for a moment, it is not something that is easy to accept. "Today Marisa and I are nothing more than two sisters. We live together, we argue like two normal people but not like husband and wife." Fulvia began her journey to a new self with hormone therapy while Marissa saw a psychologist to help her get to grips with her new reality. Fulvia's wife may have been supportive but her parents were as vehement in their opposition. Fulvia said: "My dad asked my wife to sign a paper to send me into a psychiatric institution to make me change my mind. "It was very hard, when my father passed away they didn't let us go to the funeral because they were ashamed of us. "The only people who accepted me were my brothers." That didn't deter her and in 2004 she got breast implants and a nose job and a facelift three more breast augmentations, liposuction, numerous fillers in her cheeks and lips and a £22,000 butt lift followed. The financial cost however, was taking its toll and Fulvia who used to run a restaurant struggled. To keep up with the rising costs, she sold her guns, cars and a house in France to pay for her transformation and now the pair struggle on Marisa's wage as a holistic therapist. Inhabitants of Perevagno have ostracised the couple and their friends have deserted them. Fulvia said: "I am now the clown of Peveragno. They point at me, they talk about me, they start inventing stories about me that I am a prostitute. "My friends have all vanished – they didn't accept me. "I couldn't be without Marisa and do what I do without her. She is always here with me." All these notwithstanding, Fulvia is soldiering on in her quest for perfection, "I want to look like Allanah Starr, an American transgender porn star" She said. "Plastic surgery is not a drug but its something that people like me need. "I am not happy with my face and other parts of my body. "I won't stop here, I want to go ahead because it's not perfect. If I reach perfection maybe I will stop" She added. |

People make fun of a young man spotted at a grocery store with his little daughter tied to his back Posted: 06 Jan 2016 07:22 AM PST Sandani Muremela from Makhado in Limpopo, South Africa, was the butt of jokes by his fellow men when he was recently seen with his three-year-old daughter, Funzani, on his back at a supermarket. Some people even said his wife had cast a love spell on him. 'To make grocery shopping easier I bought a towel to carry Funzani on my back. Women do it all the time, so why shouldn't I?" Sandini told Daily Sun. The 26-year-old who works as a safety officer at a mine, said he couldn't believe it when other men laughed at him and said the child's mum had given him korobela. "I asked one guy why he was laughing but he looked away and didn't respond. He probably thought I was a madman," said Sandani. But Sandani also won some fans with his parenting skills. "He knows how to carry his baby perfectly. It's very cute and men like this are rare." said a shop attendant. Sandani said he took good care of his daughter because he was raised by a single mum after his father left when he was only a year old. "I don't want my child not to know the love of a father. It's not a good thing at all. I love my daughter and will do everything to protect her," he said. His daughter's mother, Lebohang Mashego, 24, said Sandani was a good father and she knew she could depend on him. "I'm proud of him. I'm glad he's not ashamed to carry our daughter like that, and I didn't give him korobela." |

Illinois Christian college seeks to fire professor for comments on Islam Posted: 06 Jan 2016 07:11 AM PST Officials at a Chicago Christian college said Tuesday they are moving forward with firing a professor who was placed on leave after asserting that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. Provost Stanton Jones initiated the termination-for-cause proceeding after Larycia Hawkins refused to participate in clarifying the comments she made about the two religions, Wheaton College said in a statement on its website. Wheaton College said it placed Hawkins on administrative leave in December because of theological statements "that seem inconsistent with Wheaton College's doctrinal convictions, which she voluntarily agreed to support and uphold when she entered into an employment agreement with the college." Hawkins began to wear a hijab to show solidarity with Muslims, whom she felt were being persecuted in the wake of the San Bernardino shooting and the terror attacks in Paris perpetuated by Muslim extremists. She told reporters last month her actions were "motivated by a desire to live out my faith." "I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book," she posted on Facebook. "And as Pope Francis stated last week, we worship the same God."The school insists that is not why she was placed on leave. The college said it has had frank conversations with Hawkins on doctrinal issues as it pursued the possibility of reconciliation with her but that "Hawkins has stated clearly her unwillingness to participate in such further clarifying conversations." The Chicago Tribune reported that Hawkins had been asked to affirm the college's statement of faith four times since she started teaching at Wheaton College nine years go. Hawkins and the school have butted heads over a paper relating the Bible and race relations in America, a photo taken of her inside a home at a party on the same day as Chicago's Pride Parade and suggesting the college's curriculum should include sensitive vocabulary for talks concerning sexuality, according to the paper. A spokeswoman for Hawkins, Shelly Ruzicka, said the professor had no immediate comment on the effort to fire her but she "maintains Christian support for the Muslim community amid the ongoing anti-Muslim climate." Hawkins now faces a hearing with the college's Faculty Personnel Committee, according to the Tribune. The panel is made up of nine tenured faculty members. After hearing from both sides, the panel will make a recommendation on Hawkins' continued employement to Wheaton College President Philip Ryken. |
