NIS Test: Impatience led to applicants’ death - Minister of Interior

Posted: 16 Mar 2014 11:01 AM PDT

Minister of Interior, Mr. Abba Moro, has reacted to the craziness that happened yesterday during the Immigration Service Test which took place across stadiums in Nigeria. The number of people that died during the recruitment exercise has increased from 6 to about 9. The deaths occurred in Abuja, Lagos and Minna but instead of commiserating with families who lost loved ones, Mr Moro said they died as a result of their impatience...
"The applicants lost their lives due to impatience; they did not follow the laid down procedures spelt out to them before the exercise. Many of them jumped through the fences of affected centres and did not conduct themselves in an orderly manner to make the exercise a smooth one. This caused stampede and made the environment unsecured."
He also contradicted the number of applicants that participated in the employment test. The initial number we got was 2.3million, but the minister says that only 520,000 participated and only 4,556 would be recruited. 520,000 x1,000 =?

Posted: 16 Mar 2014 10:18 AM PDT

Rihanna and Drake are officially exclusive. TMZ reports that multiple sources extremely close to the couple told them that they've gone from casually hooking up to seriously dating ... they've decided to give it a serious shot.
We're told Rihanna wants to spend as much time with Drake as her schedule will allow -- because he treats her better than anyone she's ever been with. Not a high bar.
As we reported, the pair have been virtually inseparable while Drake's been touring in Europe -- we're told Rihanna has spent every single night with him since she arrived.
As for Drake, he's smitten -- one source said "he's in the best mood he's been in a long time."
Meanwhile, last Thursday night Drake and Rihanna were spotted exiting the same men's room at Manchester hotspot Zouk. According to paparazzi on the scene Rihanna entered the restroom first, then a few minutes later, Drake came strolling out the same door. See the video after the cut...

Official statement from actress Biola Ige regarding semi-nude movie scene pic

Posted: 16 Mar 2014 11:08 AM PDT

The pic on the right went viral online in recent days. It shows actress Biola Ige in what would appear to be a compromising situation with actor Muna Ibekwe. But the actress has reacted to the pic saying its from a movie scene. Read her official statement below...
"I was going to remain silent on the photo being displayed on the internet however I realise that I need to set the record straight for my family, friends and fans who I love and respect.
The photo in question was taking from the set of a movie called "Pregnant Hawkers" in which i played a Hawker who was in a romantic situation with a man (The actor in the photo). This movie was shot and aired two years ago. The photo circulating the internet right now is the photo from a scene in the movie and nothing more. IF you watched the movie you will see that there is nothing to this movie other than the fact that i was playing a role! Continue...
I am an actress, it is a profession that i love and will continue to enjoy. I am required to play all sorts of roles. In each role i step out of being Biola Ige and go straight into 'character'.

Whoever who maliciously leaked this photo to make it appear to be something else has simply given me some great publicity! Thank you!

I have been through a lot of difficult things this year with the loss of my mom and a brief illness,  that a simple photo from a movie scene from 2 years ago is the least of my worries. I have no further comments regarding this act to hurt my character.

I look forward to acting more movies, and playing more roles to entertain you. Thank you all for reading."

Satellite data shows hijacked Malaysian plane was last seen flying towards Pakistan

Posted: 15 Mar 2014 02:53 PM PDT

Investigators say the missing Malaysia Airlines jet was hijacked, steered off-course and could have reached Pakistan. A Malaysian government official said people with significant flying experience could have turned off the flight's communication devices.

The representative said that hijacking theory was now 'conclusive', and, as a result, police have raided the luxury homes of both the captain (right) and the co-pilot (left)

The search operation has now been focused on two 'corridors', one which extends from  north west from Thailand to the Kazakstan-Turkmenistan border and the other which opens out into the southern Indian Ocean. Continue...

Cuntries in the plane's potential flightpath have now joined a huge diplomatic effort to locate the missing passengers, but China described the revelation as 'painfully belated'.
While Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak refused to confirm that flight MH370 was taken over, he admitted 'deliberate action' on board the plane resulted in it changing course and losing connection with ground crews.

The plane's communication system was switched off as it headed west over the Malaysian seaboard and could have flown for another seven hours on its fuel reserves.

It is not yet clear where the plane could have been  taken, however Mr Razak said the most recent satellite data suggests the plane could have headed to one of two possible flight corridors.

The last radar contact was made at 8.11am on March 8 along one of the corridors, seven hours and 31 minutes after take off, but the plane could have deviated further from these points.
U.S. investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the passengers are being held at an unknown location and suggest that faint 'pings' were being transmitted for several hours after the flight lost contact with the ground.

NASA has also joined the international search operation, analysing satellite data and images that have already been gathered.

Malaysian authorities and others are urgently investigating the two pilots and 10 crew members, along with the 227 passengers on board.
