| Actor Columbus Short threatens to kill his wife and commit suicide Posted: 17 Apr 2014 09:19 AM PDT   From TMZ Scandal" star Columbus Short has been thrown out of his house and his wife has filed for divorce ... after he allegedly put a knife to her throat last week and threatened to kill her and himself. According to a new restraining order -- obtained by TMZ -- Short got into it with his wife April 7 at their Chatsworth home, where she claims he came into her room intoxicated with a wine bottle in hand, acted like he was going to hit her with the bottle and then unloaded the wine on her. Tuere Short claims Columbus then ran to the kitchen for a knife, pinned her to the couch and began choking her. She says he then demanded they play a game he called "Truth or Truth." He allegedly said if she lied he would stab her in the leg. She says he then started naming men he believed she was having affairs with. She denied them all but he allegedly then put the knife to her throat and threatened murder/suicide. As she tried escaping she says he slashed her tire. The restraining order requires Columbus to move out of the house. We've learned cops were there today to ensure the peace as he moved out. Tuere also filed for divorce Tuesday, citing irreconcilable differences and asking for sole custody of their 2-year-old daughter. In addition to the incident April 7th, Short has been charged with criminal domestic violence and child abuse for allegedly abusing Tuere while their child and his son were in the house. He pled not guilty. And he was arrested for yet another alleged domestic violence incident a few weeks earlier. It's interesting ... just last month -- after the first 2 domestic violence arrests -- Columbus and his wife put on a united front at The Grove in L.A. |

Fuji Star Saheed Osupa was already in town to play at the festival as well as other guests who had come into town to celebrate with them. Continue...  They were however surprised that as they gathered at the park today to celebrate, they were barred by fierce looking mobile policemen who said they were there at the instance of the state government. According to government officials, they stopped the youths from holding the carnival for fear of the event being hijacked by hoodlums or exposing the state to other security challenges such as an attack from the dreaded Boko Haram.    |
| Sex, Nudity and Half of a Yellow Sun Posted: 17 Apr 2014 10:12 AM PDT  Over the weekend in Lagos, Oscar nominee and BAFTA award winner, Chiwetel Ejiofor laid claim to the fact that Half of a Yellow Sun is not just a Nigerian story but an international story which has its implications and relevance across the world. The movie which was centered on love could not have left the original plot out which talks about the Biafran war. By now you probably have heard of Half of a Yellow Sun, but no one has told you about the nudity and sex scenes, by the way it was artistically done. Thandie Newton came out of the bath tub naked with her two boobs standing at alert, Chiwetel and Thandie Newton had sex and there was another sex scene in the movie, again all were artistically done. The question is, can Nigerian actors ever go all the way in movies like these people did (remember Chiwetel and Lupita in 12 Years a Slave)? Toni Kan, a film critic and author said the sex scene was well done, 'you can't be in the bath tub and be fully dressed or start covering your body when your husband enters the room like we do in our movies, Nigerians would love it and after all Ghanaians have done more than that.' He added that it justified the description in the book. Besides this is collaboration between Nollywood and Hollywood and certain things have to be made as real as possible. A renowned journalist, Steve Ayorinde, said nothing is offensive, 'part of the reason we don't do well in our movies is because we don't speak cinema language, and nudity in movies is given unnecessary attention, you can't be in your bath tub and be clothed. Movies that win the Oscar are doing it professionally and the actors and actresses see it as their job and the press doesn't make a big deal out of it. Also, our acts put restriction on themselves and film makers too and that would not have allowed them go that far. In addition, our movies are not professionally and maturely shot, we need to be lightened up about that and start being professional.' Shaibu Husseini, a journalist and movie critic went on to say that the movie sure has to do with arts and it contributes and advances the story, he doubts if we could do it. 'Thandie is a professional and convinced it would help the film, we are from a society where normal parts like that are daring and misinterpreted. It's just an actress portraying her character. Biyi Bandele even played down on some of the descriptions.' We did our introduction last year and we decided we would stop smoking at least she would stop cause she's a mom now. But she refused. no Wahala o. I took my son and I dumped her. No time mehn. Then I met this girl in February this year. God fearing, Ok looking, gentle and respectful. Perfect wife material and I want to marry her. But this igbo smoking, no pant wearing smello ex girlfriend of mine will not let us be. She's claiming I destroyed her life. I no force her smoke o. Na teach I teach her. She wants me to give her our son so she could train him but I doubt her ability and Me gan I ain't got time to train him cos I be small boy myself, I'm barely 25 sef and then unto Malay P, always traveling ish Last week, She came with some boys to fight me and they took my son. I'm planning a revenge soon, I'm not too kin on training this boy, because I'm busy with other things at the moment. Should I leave our son for her or just forcefully get him back and let this my new God fearing responsible girlfriend bring him up or better still send him to my iya Agba's (grandma) place where I grew up. | Nigerian who killed his mum in the UK found guilty of manslaughter Posted: 17 Apr 2014 08:16 AM PDT   According to the jury, Kalejaiye could not be found guilty of murder because to his mental state. The Essex University undergraduate last year stabbed his 41 year old mother (pictured right) 40 times in her head, face, neck, upper limbs and hands during a frenzied knife attack. His mother until her death was an accountant with the Camden Council in England. Continue... In his confessional statement, Emmanuel admitted to killing his mother saying she was driving him crazy with her religious stance and was using it to manipulate him.
According to investigations, after killing his mum, Emmanuel dressed up in female cloths and drove out of their apartment in a bid to fool his neighbor that his mother was the one driving out to work. His wounded mother, who didn't die immediately after the stabbing, managed to call a male friend who drove down to her apartment but met her corpse when he arrived. Emmanuel was later caught on CCTV calmly buying a can of coke and a pack of cookies at a local post office before handing himself over to police. Judge Christopher Ball QC who ruled over the case asked that a full psychiatric examination be conducted on Emmanuel. He fixed the date for his sentencing to June 2014. |

The victim's nose was broken in the attack. His bodyguard, Chris Hornsby, who was also arrested, is expected to take responsibility for punching the fan during his trial which is set to begin today April 17th. |

The 36 year old football star shared a pic of himself modeling shorts from the line. Hmmm...#betterthingz. The children said they 'were in love' and had been dating for a year when they found out she was pregnant. They met over Christmas 2012 in a park when she was 10 and he was 11 going on 12. The children welcomed a healthy daughter on Sunday April 13th 2014. At 12 years and three months, she is five months younger than the previous youngest UK mother, Tressa Middleton, who gave birth at age 13. Her mum who is only 27 is now Britain's youngest grandmother. The new mum has a 3 year old sister and 9 year old brother and her grandmother who is 56 is now a great grandmother. Continue...  'I would rather have come home and had this than find out she was on drugs at 11 or 12. There's plenty of routes kids this age can go down. She's brought something beautiful into the world... That little girl does not bring shame to me at all, I'm so proud of her. Shame doesn't even come into it. We didn't know this was happening. Unfortunately kids this age are going to grow up to have boyfriends and partners or whatever. If they do things behind their parents' back that's something we're never going to be able to find out.' He said a lot more. See that after the cut... In the comment section of the post, Alibaba wrote; Everyone shows off. You work hard to show off. When you take a graduation picture and post it, there are millions who could not sit Jamb. When you are celebrating your baby dedication there are women praying for fruit of the womb. When you tell everyone how you got a great job, many are dying at stadia across the country. As long as its your hard work that got you those things you show off. Do you know showing off your cleavage could also be in that class of your argument? Because there are people that don't have. Some even have had theirs cut off. For me I see such as inspiration. Most people in Business Class need to go to business class( school) to understand that a business's class ticket is not an investment unless you have crossed certain boxes investment wise. I has invested in other tangible assets before I invested in nice cars. Cars are the bane of many men, women don't make it easy either cos if you no get some type of cars , they don't consider you serious. But what we don't understand is that in America you can rent a Car or lease one in nigeria we pay the full price at once, meanwhile the price of those "cars" can buy a house for the "star" so when the ruff times come( and yes it always comes) you have a fall back. May the God of wisdom enlighten us  Who agrees with Alibaba? |
| Fulani Herdsmen in fresh attacks in Taraba state Posted: 17 Apr 2014 03:50 AM PDT  According to a breaking news report on Channels TV, suspected Fulani herdsmen are currently attacking Wukari village in Taraba state. Eyewitness reports has it that about 15 people have been killed but police officials say its only 7 that are reported dead. Reports also say several houses have been destroyed. Unconfirmed reports has it that the wife of the Taraba state Governor, Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Danbaba Suntai was caught up in the middle of the fight but has however been rescued from the attack scene. |

| Nigerian caught in India with heroin concealed in ladies shoes Posted: 17 Apr 2014 02:10 AM PDT  A Nigerian man, Ozioma Kenneth Odeomenan has been arrested in New Delhi India with 330g of heroin worth $120,000 concealed in ladies shoes he was to export to America. According to India police report, Ozioma was arrested after an anonymous tip-off they got on the 14th of April that a Nigerian man carrying hard drugs was coming to the Janakpuri metro station. A team of police officers laid a trap and apprehended Ozioma, who was found with 330 grams of heroin cleverly concealed in the specially made cavities in the soles of women's sandals. The Nigerian later confessed he was heading to Mahipalpur to courier the drugs to the US. India Times reports that Ozioma who had his education in South Africa relocated to India in 2009 and ventured into the business of exporting shoes to Nigeria for sale. The business did not yield the returns he expected and so he abandoned it and was introduced to drug trafficking business by another Nigerian identified as Ike |
| Parents, school principal say no girl was rescued in Chibok Posted: 17 Apr 2014 02:02 AM PDT  Parents of the missing girls, the principal of the school and Borno state governor told reporters this morning that the military lied about the rescue operation as the girls were still missing. Below is what the principal of the school, Mrs Asabe Kwambura, told Premium Times this morning: "There is nothing in the military statement that is true about our abducted girls. Up till now we are still waiting and praying for the safe return of the students; all I know is that we have only 14 of them, and the security people especially the Vigilante and the well meaning volunteers of Gwoza are still out searching for them. The military people too are in the bush searching. So we have not received any information that they have gotten the students yet. So let it be clear that all the information passed on the media by the military concerning 107 girls is not true. I, as the principal did not tell any body any figure on released students other than what our Governor, His Excellency Kashim Shettima had informed the media." Continue...Borno state Governor, ashim Shettima told the BBC Hausa service this morning that only 14 girls had escaped "We have recovered 14 of the girls and we have announced a N50 million reward for any credible information that will help us get our girls released and rejoined with their families."Military spokesperson Major General Chris Olukolade, had issued a statement yesterday claiming that over 100 abducted girls had been freed and only 8 were missing. But when contacted again, Olukayode said it was the principal of the school who told the military that only eight girls were now missing. The Principal defended herself by saying; "I told them that I don't want to be seen to be contradicting myself on that because what the governor said was what we know about; and I told them there may be additional rescue of the girls, but up to this moment we have not received any of them apart from what we had before.What the governor said is still the true picture of the whole issue and that information given by the military is totally wrong." |
