LIB Exclusive: Angela Okorie theft scandal: Prince Eke & Prosper tell their own side of the story Posted: 30 Apr 2014 11:37 AM PDT Yesterday you read actress Angela Okorie's version of what happened in South Africa where she was accused and arrested for allegedly stealing $3,200. Angela said in an interview with Yes! magazine that she didn't steal any money, that was set up by a guy named Prosper (Read here). Well, Prosper and Prince Eke reached out to me to tell their own version of what happened...and what a story! Prosper claims Angela moved in with him, that they were lovers, and she really stole his money. He sent me receipts but first, read Prince Eke's side of the story below(Angela & Prosper pictured above) "Mid last month, Angela Okorie called me help her shoot a movie in South Africa. My wife (Muma Gee) was due to give birth but because of the respect I have for her, I agreed to do the movie. It was her own movie called Ada Abakaliki but she also wanted me to act in another movie being produced by a guy named Ikenna in South Africa which she was also supposed to feature in. It was her movie and she was the one inviting me to South Africa so yes she's supposed to pay for my flight and accommodation because I had no other reason to be there. We arrived South Africa on Monday. She wanted me to stay with her friend but I told her I would rather stay in a hotel that I wasn't comfortable staying in someone's house. She put me in one hotel but I didn't like the place. She paid for a guest house and she asked me to stay with her there but I refused, telling her that she's a married woman and I am a married man, that I wasn't comfortable staying with her. I eventually paid to stay at City Lodge but later she called me and told me to come and stay at the guest house she paid for, that she would move out. When I went to her hotel, she introduced me to a guy named Prosper who I'd never met before. She introduced him to me as her boo. (Opari)... ContinueShe told me I could stay at the guest house, that she would move in with Prosper. She told the magazine she moved in with a friend name NK. That's a lie. There's no friend named NK. Angela moved in with Prosper who has a two-bedroom flat and a roommate who is Tanzanian and not Angela's friend. Angela lived with Prosper for nine days. Anyway, eventually Angela told me she was no longer doing the Ikenna movie. But we continued shooting her own movie. Some days later, I saw Angela and Prosper kissing and I was very shocked because I know she's married. I confronted Prosper and told him he was messing with a married man. Prosper told me Angela had claimed she was estranged from her husband, I told Prosper that was a lie because I know she's still very much married. When Prosper questioned Angela about what I said they began to have problems. She became angry with me for telling Prosper she was still very much married. On the day of the alleged theft, we had finished shooting for the day and I wanted to have a shave. I told Prosper to take me to a barbing salon. Angela said she wasn't going to the salon that she wants to go home. About 30 minutes later, Prosper told me he just received a text message from Angela that she was leaving his house. When Prosper eventually got home, he called me to say Angela had stolen his money, $3,200 and he had been calling her and she was not picking. I tried calling Angela but she also didn't pick my calls. Prosper managed to track her down and she was traced to Hilton Hotel in Sandton. He went there around 2am with police officers to have her arrested. Angela was there with another man named Daniel. This is a girl who told me she couldn't afford to pay for hotel and wanted me squatting with friends, all of a sudden she could afford to pay for a room at Hilton Hotel. The guy they met in her room returned 10,000 rands to Prosper and signed an affidavit which I will send to you. I don't know if she took the money but why sign an affidavit to return it? Angela was taken to Sandton police station, from there she was transferred her to Honey Due police station where she was found guilty, and finally transferred to Ranburg police station where she slept in a cell. I, Prince Eke bailed her and stood as surety and the first statement she made after she came out was that I sold her out. That I didn't tell her Prosper was coming with police. Angela was charged to court, she went to court on Tuesday. It was the court that granted her bail. I can send you her charge number. Saying Prosper set her up to take money from her is not true. She introduced him to me as her boo and never said he was harassing her sex. It was strange to read all that. Besides Prosper drives a Mercedes Benz E360 and he's a well known rap artist. Prosper's side of the story... That I tried to rape her or was begging her for sex is laughable. I knew she was coming to South Africa. I promised to help her when she got here. She and Prince Eke arrived on Monday morning, I saw them in the evening and Prince was complaining that he didn't like where he was staying. So Angela and I agreed that she would move out of the guest house and move in with me so Prince Eke could move into the guest house. She left the place and moved in with me on Wednesday. She said she moved in with her friend named NK. There's no such person. I have a roommate, a young girl that I am helping, who is like a family friend. She didn't know Angela until she moved in with me. She lied about moving into a friend's house. She moved into my house. We were lovers. Please quote me. When Prince Eke confronted me and said I was messing around with a married woman, I was quite surprised because Angela told me she was estranged from her husband. After I heard she was married, I distanced myself from her and we began to have issues in the house. She started to give me attitude and also Prince Eke because he had told me she was married. About the money, after we finished shooting that Saturday, I took Prince Eke to a Barber's salon to get a hair cut. Angela said she wanted to go home. Later she called me to say she was leaving my house. We had quarreled that morning but she didn't tell me she would be leaving. She was supposed to stay at mine until she leaves South Africa. When I got home I asked my roommate if she'd seen Angela and she said Angela had left the house in a hurry with her things, that someone had been waiting for her outside the house. I checked the cameras in the premises and saw that she'd left in a hurry. I went to my room and searched for my money and saw it was gone. I called her for several hours but she didn't pick, so I went to the police. We were able to trace her to Hilton hotel. She and the guy with her were both arrested and it was the guy that signed the affidavit. Why would I set her up? I am a rap artist and producer in South Africa. My stage name is P-Skrilla. The affidavit supposedly signed by Daniel Angela also took to her Facebook page today to write;

Dolce and Gabba found guilty of Tax Evasion Posted: 30 Apr 2014 09:18 AM PDT Creative Directors of D&G, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have been found guilty of tax evasion to the tune of $1.3bn. The verdict was announced this afternoon after hours of consideration by a three-judge panel who decided to uphold last June's guilty verdict that saw the designers both sentenced to 20-months in prison for allegedly committing tax evasion, Vogue UK reports. The alleged crime is said to have been a result of the sale of their Dolce & Gabbana and D&G brands to the Luxembourg-based holding company Gado Srl in 2004.Dolce & Gabbana have always denied the charges and promptly appealed last year's decision with their legal representative. But the appeal has been denied and both men are now facing prison time

Chibok schoolgirls 'alive' & deal is 'within reach' - hostage negotiator claims Posted: 30 Apr 2014 08:26 AM PDT Found this report a foreign site, Channel4.com. Read below.. A hostage negotiator in direct contact with the kidnappers of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria tells Channel 4 News their safe release is "within reach", but that their fate rests on a knife-edge. The girls, we believe, are alive but they have been moved from the location to which they were originally taken," the intermediary told Channel 4 News. "It would not be hard to engineer a deal. It looks like they want to release them." The kidnappers have warned, however, that attempts by the military to launch a rescue attempt "may result in the deaths of many of the captives".They want a way out," said the negotiator, who has long experience of dealing directly with the Islamist group Boko Haram in previous hostage crises. Boko Haram translates as "western education is forbidden" and, like the Taliban, the group opposes the education of Muslim girls, particularly if that education has western influence. Even though most of the kidnapped teenagers are from Christian families, the intermediary says the group believes it has already succeeded in embarrassing the government and instilling terror in the civilian population. Fate undecided However splinter factions within the fractious group are understood to be arguing over what to do with their hostages. "The danger now is that the military will get involved and that can only end badly," he said. Past kidnappings by the al-Qaeda inspired jihadist group, which is fighting for a strict sharia state in northern Nigeria, have ended with the execution of hostages as a result of attempted military intervention. The hostage-takers have now been asked for a list of the girls' names as proof-of-life. The negotiator - who wanted to remain anonymous for reasons of personal security - said the group is demanding a ransom but added: "we are hoping they will soften their stance". The Islamist insurgents abducted 273 girls, aged 16 to 18, from dormitories at the Chibok Girls' Secondary School in Chibok, Borno state, a fortnight ago. Around 40 girls reportedly escaped early on. The numbers of those originally kidnapped - and those still held captive - has been in dispute. Last week, the missing girls' parents insisted that government figures had dramatically underestimated the number held. The school's headteacher, Mrs Asabe Kwambura, told Channel 4 News on Tuesday that a further 10 girls had since been "recovered". "For now, the total number of girls we have recovered is 53 while 220 girls are still missing," said Mrs Kwambura. Relocated, and 'forced to marry'The abductors, who have been in intermittent contact with the intermediary over the past 48 hours, claim to have released "a number of hostages" because "they did shehada" - meaning forcible conversion to Islam, a hallmark tactic of Boko Haram.Channel 4 News has also established that the schoolgirls are not being held in the group's notorious bush camps in the Sambisa forest, an area 50 miles to the south east of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri. This region has reportedly been the focus of Nigerian military activity in recent days. Instead, the hostages have, we understand, been split into smaller separate groups, a number of whom have been taken close to - or across - Nigeria's eastern border with Cameroon. This is an area from which Mohammed Nur, one of Boko Haram's leading commanders is known to operate. "They have a problem," the intermediary said. "They have 220 captives and moving that many around cannot remain hidden. There is good, reliable, local knowledge as to their location. The military knows where they are." The relocation of the teenage hostages has been corroborated by a senior community leader in Chibok, the town from which they were abducted. Dr Pogu Bitrus told Channel 4 News that he too has learned that following the kidnapping, many of the girls were forcibly converted and some then married off in neighbouring Cameroon. He did not cite his sources. "Many were taken to the northern part of Borno state and then moved across into the Republic of Cameroon," he said. "After they converted to Islam, they were forcibly married off with a bride price of just 2,000 Naira [less than £10]." Dr Bitrus believes some of the girls do still remain in Boko Haram camps in the Sambisa forest. "The federal government must act fast" to avoid them suffering the same fate, he added.

P-Square's publicist releases statement, says he never said it was all a publicity stunt Posted: 30 Apr 2014 08:43 AM PDT Yesterday P-Square's publicity Bayo Adetu was quoted as saying the fight between the brothers was all a publicity stunt, and that they all decided to play along. Well, after the backlash from fans, Mr Adetu has backtracked and claims he never made those comments. A statement he released below. My attention has been drawn to one magazine interview quoting me that the purported P-Square break-up tale was a 'publicity stunt.' It was indeed a misconception on the part of the writer. I never said the rumour was a 'publicity stunt.'
Read the interview he supposedly granted to Icon magazine after the cut... Greetings, Bayo, we heard that the Okoye brotherS have finally reconciled, can you give us an insight on what really happened? After a long laugh… My brother, I'm telling you this as a friend, there was no fight at all. The whole thing started after Jude tweeted some days back and bloggers feasted on it and gave it several interpretations which never existed, and that was how we got here. Are you saying there wasn't a fight at all, how then did Peter and Paul keep releasing comments through their Facebook accounts? My guy, I can authoritatively tell you that neither of the P-Square brothers, nor even Jude operate their Facebook accounts anymore. Whatever Facebook posted was from an impersonator, pretending to be anyone of them. P-Sqaure is active on twitter, not on facebook, so you see, the whole thing was founded on lies. If what you are saying is true, why did they all tweet a reconciliatory tweet this morning indicating that they have mended fences? There's one thing you should know, P-Square are not politicians, neither are they businessmen to be worried about what one useless blogger or the other has to say about them. In this game, bad publicity is good publicity. When we read those funny posts, we decided to play along with the general public and what they were meant to believe. Yesterday, Thursday, April 24, 2014 was Jude Okoye's birthday and he also used the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend while we laughed at the stupidity of some Nigerian bloggers. We later decided to further play into their hands by reaching a consensus to tweet what they have termed the 'reconciliation tweet'. However as a journalist, I am pained that trained journalists allow themselves to be remoted by Linda Ikeji, a mere blogger without any professional training to stall them from investigating serious news material like this. These days, immediately Linda posts anything on her blog, journalists just go there and copy and paste the story without any checks and balances, it is outrightly wrong, I'm really upset about this. She called me after posting the story and I just decided to ignore her calls, because I didn't think we had anything more to say when the milk has been split. I have taken my time to explain to you this way because, you are a friend and did not join the bandwagon. As for those bloggers out there, I allowed them to write whatever they like; after all, they are consuming their Internet data, not mine.

14yr old girl kills another 14yr old girl after Facebook fight over a boy Posted: 30 Apr 2014 05:14 AM PDT 14 year old Endia Martin (pictured above) was killed on Monday April 28th by another 14 year old girl after they argued on Facebook about a boy. Is this what 14 year olds should be doing? Fighting over boys and killing each other? My goodness! According to Chicago Times, the handgun used to kill Endia Martin had been brought to the scene by someone who knew the suspect and knew 'there was going to be a fight' Chicago police said "What would have been, under any other circumstance, probably a fistfight between 14-year-old girls, because they were fighting over a boy, turned into a murder. You introduce a firearm and you have a murder." The police saidEndia was walking home from school when the other girl approached, pulled the gun and opened fire around 4:30 p.m on Monday in West Garfield Boulevard, Chicago, according to police. Endia was hit in the back and killed instantly. The 14 year old girl has been charged as a juvenile with murder, while her 24-year-old uncle and a 17-year-old boy are also facing charges. The two are being held for giving the gun to the killer.

Pictures from the public presentation of the book, 'Giants of History' Posted: 30 Apr 2014 03:15 AM PDT On Tuesday Aprill 22, at the Civic Centre, VI, Lagos, Mr. Lateef Ibirogba (the Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Lagos State) presented to the public his book titled "Giants of History: The Making of Our World" as well as an accompanying card game "The Game of Giants". In attendance at the event were the governors of Lagos and Osun States, along with representatives from other states in the south west of Nigeria. There were a couple of senators from the northern part of the country as well, and a number of people from the publishing and literary professions. More on the book here. Continue... The card game was invented to help students and all other interested history buffs to interact with the book and learn more about great people living and dead. Mr Pascal Diozie, the chairman of the occasion, referred to Giants of History as a serious book which will add a lot of value to the young population. The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the launch, commended the author for a job well done. He also urged Nigerians to take up the reading culture again, adding that the dearth of books about public service in our libraries is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. He encouraged people to buy the work. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the governor of Osun State, was the keynote speaker for the day. He gave glowing remarks on the book and congratulated the author for a job well done. The Honourable Commissioners for Information from Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti and Edo were also in attendance as representatives of their governors. Speaking as the book reviewer, Barrister Tade Ipadeola (winner of the Nigerian Prize for Literature, 2013) praised the book as one that makes history relevant again. Also in attendance was the director of Corona School, Agbara, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, whose speech commended the author for writing the book, and for inviting her to the occasion without having met her before. It shows a recognition of the role of teachers in society, she said. Nigerian pleads guilty to terror charges in the US Posted: 30 Apr 2014 01:20 AM PDT 33 year old Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi (pictured above) yesterday Tuesday April 29th pleaded guilty to terror charges in a US court. The Nigerian citizen is accused of providing material support to an al Qaeda affiliate, and participating in its media and recruitment campaigns, Reuters reports. US prosecutors said that, from January 2010 to August 2011, Babafemi left Nigeria to Yemen twice to meet with some leaders of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, known as AQAP. "The defendant traveled to Yemen to put himself at the disposal of a violent terrorist organization that has repeatedly demonstrated its determination to inflict bodily and economic harm on the US and its citizens," A U.S. Attorney said in a statement.Prosecutors also say the al Qaeda leaders paid Babafemi, also known as 'Ayatollah Mustapha' almost $9,000 to recruit English-speaking people from Nigeria that would write for their online magazine called 'Inspire'. He was extradited August last year from Nigeria to the US. Sentencing for the case has been scheduled for August 27th. Babafemi faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. So they are basically locking him for editing and getting writers for the al Qaeda magazine.
