Reacting to Alibaba's position on the advantages of Nigerian celebrities showing off their possessions online, Etcetera said he doesn't agree with the practice.

Speaking with Punch, the singer said celebs who do this are asking for trouble.
"I think that artistes who are in the habit of posting expensive items on social media should tread carefully because of the present situation in the country. If they continue to do this, they might be asking for trouble. Also, artistes, who prefer to have their names on the license plates of their cars, had better watch it. If their colleagues in the United States do these things, it doesn't mean it is okay to do so in Nigeria."

Is it over with P-Square?

I've been hearing a few stories about Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square having issues for a while now. I hear they disagree on everything now...songs, videos, ideas etc...but because they are twin brothers, I figured well, they will sort things out...so I didn't write.

On Wednesday April 16th, I gathered exclusively from industry sources that the brothers fought each other physically during rehearsals. They had to be separated by their dancers. This is fact! But I decided to leave the story alone because which sibling doesn't disagree sometimes, right? But now their older brother, Jude Okoye, who is also their manager, just tweeted that after ten years he's done.


I hear one of the wives is causing some of the problems between the brothers. *sigh* Dear P-Square, don't even think of breaking up. You will break the hearts of millions of people...including myself. Please stay together.

How DPO raped me in detention - Sales girl narrates her ordeal

A mother of two identified as Idowu Akinwunmi has accused a Divisional Police Officer in Lagos Island, SP Adekunle Awe, of raping her on Wednesday April 15th while in police custody after she was arrested by men of the Onikan Police station, Punch reports.

According to Idowu, she was arrested on Tuesday 14th April after her boss, Ms Idowu Pelumi had laid a complaint at the police station accusing her of bringing a male friend to her restaurant to pass the night. Narrating her story, Akinwunmi said;
"I work at an eatery on Keffi Street, Obalende, as a cook. The eatery also has a tailor's shop in the compound and it belongs to the same person. There is also a quarters where we all live in the compound. Most of the workers are from Cotonou, Benin Republic. On Monday, a popular customer, known as Friday, came to eat. He later left, but some moments later, he returned to say he could not get a bus home. Friday had been making advances at me, but we were not a couple. I allowed him to sleep over."
When her boss found out that Friday had slept at her restaurant, she got the police to arrest both Idowu and Friday. And that was where her nightmare began. Dear Lagos State police commissioner, hope you will look into this matter. Continue...


"My madam called policemen to arrest all of us. I had only a pair of shorts, a shirt and a wrapper on. I had N11, 000 in my pocket and my phone was not with me. On getting to the station, I got the phone of a policewoman and used it to call one of the tailors to come and help. In the morning of Tuesday, two tailors, Ben and Matthias, arrived to bail out their friends, but they were also arrested, bringing our total number to six."
The following day which was April 15th, she ran into the DPO of the police station after using the bathroom. DPO Awe asked her why she was arrested and after narrating what happened, Idowu claims he then invited her to his office...and had sex with her without using a condom
"Around 10pm on Tuesday, the DPO sent a policeman to call Friday and I. I was wearing boxers and a top. I stayed at the counter and Friday went in to see the DPO. A few minutes later, Friday came out and the DPO called me in. The DPO said he could make sure that I spent the rest of my life in jail, but I begged him. He then came close to me and started rubbing his hands all over my body but I rejected his advances. He said my boss had told him that he could do whatever he wanted to do with me. He said since I was from Benin Republic, if he killed me, nothing would happen. He said he would also make sure that the remaining five suspects would be sent to prison. At this point, the DPO had already taken off his clothes. Since I was afraid for my life, I allowed the DPO to have his way. I begged him to use a condom, but he refused. He pushed me to a smaller room in his office and put me on the bed and had sex with me. Immediately after he had finished, he told me to shower in a bathroom inside his office." she said.
She said the next morning while she was about to leave, the DPO asked for her number but she refused to give it to him. She said the DPO promised that with the sex she already offered, she would not pay any bail but to her surprise, N30,000 was collected from her.
As soon as she left the police station, she went for a test at the Lagos Island Maternity clinic. A copy of the medical report, signed by one Dr. R. A. Seriki, stated,
"A complaint of sexual assault: General clinical condition satisfactory; no laceration, no bruises, no areas of hyperemia, negative for HIV 1 and 2, pregnancy negative. Has been placed on PEP and emergency contraception".
Meanwhile the Network on Police Reform in Nigeria has petitioned the National Human Rights Commission over the alleged rape of Akinwunmi. Mr. Okechukwu Nwagunma who is the Co-coordinator of NOPRIN says  they would follow the case to its logical conclusion with the view of getting Akinwunmi the justice she deserves. The case has now been forwarded to the office of the Commissioner for Police, Umar Tanko, who had a meeting with the accused DPO and Akinwunmi yesterday.

Back in 2007, Sean "Diddy" Combs teamed with Jay Z and 50 Cent to create a song titled "I Get Money: Forbes 1-2-3 Billion Dollar Remix." Less than a decade later, rappers are closing in on ten-figure fortunes, and he's the nearest of the bunch.
Diddy leads the pack with an estimated fortune of $700 million, an increase of $120 million over his net worth last year. The change comes largely from the addition of Revolt TV—the new, music-focused, multi-platform channel of which he's the majority owner—to his already-hefty portfolio.
Diddy has plenty of competition in the race to $1 billion. His top challengers are Dr. Dre, who ranks second with $550 million, and Jay Z, in third place with an estimated $520 million. The former leapfrogged the latter on this year's Forbes Five thanks to a large stake in Beats By Dr. Dre, which he cofounded with Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine in 2008.
The company controls an astounding two-thirds of the premium headphone market, with annual sales reportedly in excess of $1 billion and growing. Private equity firm Carlyle invested $500 million for a minority stake last year, pushing Beats' value past $1 billion and likely closer to $2 billion.
"Beats has a unique brand—it speaks to a nice young demographic, which is really interesting to marketers," says Peter Csathy, former president of Musicmatch, an early digital music purveyor acquired by Yahoo YHOO +0.11% in 2004 for $160 million. "When I think about Beats, I think about it as a lifestyle, I think of it as a media company, not just a hardware and music-focused company."
Jay Z's fortune continues to grow at a healthy clip, too. He's made multiple nine-figure deals in the past, including his $204 million Rocawear sale in 2007 and his $150 million pact with Live Nation in 2008. But much of his recent growth comes from Roc Nation, his record label and management firm that recently added a sports agency. The outfit gets a single-digit cut of pacts like Robinson Cano's $240 million monster agreement.
Bryan "Birdman" Williams, whose net worth would be over $300 million if he didn't share his fortune with brother Ronald "Slim" Williams. The duo cofounded Cash Money Records two decades ago; Cash Money continues to grow with a roster that includes Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. Birdman has also diversified with Cash Money Content, GT Vodka and the YMCMB clothing line.
Rounding out the list is 50 Cent, who owes most of his fortune to his $100 million haul from the sale of Vitaminwater in 2007. Now he's trying to repeat the feat with companies like SMS  Audio and SK Energy beverages. In the meantime, he'll reboot his music career by taking his G-Unit Records independent and releasing new album Animal Ambition in June.

Man beheads 2 year-old boy, rapes mother in Ogun state

According to PM News, a middle aged man named Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for behading a 2year old boy and raping the boy's mother inside an uncompleted building in a bush at Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode local government area of the State.

Reports say the man trailed the woman who was carrying her son on her back, into the bush, forced her into an uncompleted building, raped her, then stabbed her in the neck. He then cut off the little boy's head. A passerby discovered what was happening and raised an alarm but by the time help finally came, the suspect had already fled the scene with the little boy's head. Continue...

He was later arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department, CID of the State Police Command and when they asked for the boy's head, he said he had sold it to a woman in Ibadan.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the incident and said investigations is ongoing and they are trying to track down the woman who bought the little boy's head.

US rapper castrates himself then attempts suicide

According to reports, US rapper and Wu-Tang affiliate Andre 'Christ Bearer' Johnson tried to jump to his death from a 2nd-storey window after cutting off his penis with a kitchen knife…

A rapper affiliated with Wu-Tang Clan was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday after he cut off his penis and then jumped off a second story balcony in what police believe was a suicide attempt ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Our sources say ... cops were called to an apartment building in North Hollywood at around 1:00 AM and found Christ Bearer -- aka Andre Johnson -- on the sidewalk critically injured.
Christ Bearer is a member of the rap group Northstar ... a group discovered by members of Wu-Tang Clan. Two members of a group Bearer collaborates with live in the same apartment building and tell TMZ they were there early this morning when Christ Bearer suddenly -- without warning -- cut off his penis and jumped off the balcony. They say they were not on "any hard drugs that would cause him to do such a thing."
The two men say they rushed downstairs and Christ Bearer had already jumped up and began screaming incoherently.
New reports reveal the penis will not be able to be re-attached.
