Dear LIB Readers: How do I manage this wife thats now a thorn in my flesh?

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 12:55 PM PDT

From a male LIB reader
The purpose of my writing this now is to seek advise, else my mind imaginations and anger within can make me make my unwise wife pay dearly. I love my wife dearly and I cannot say of her, but she's always loving when we are on good terms. My wife pride has made her do things and she still feels ok with. I thank God she's not even a graduate for now, else no one would have been able to control her pride. Naturally she's always bitter, but I try to be in her good books, but lately, I found out whenever we have an argument and disagreement she makes food for herself alone, so for like two weeks, a housewife living with her husband has not asked him what to eat for breakfast whatsoever. How do I pay this kind of woman back, I have so many imaginations and ideas popping up in my mind, how best to deal with her everlasting, though, this her singular act can never make me forgive her, because, for a woman to feel its her right not to make food in whichever guise, to me its an unforgiving sin, I know wives shouldn't do that, but ill mannered ones can do, the price such should have paid should not only be divorce, but..Shes presently pregnant for me, our first child, I dont even know if I am cursing or something, but I dont wish her better sha....I can already see the future from this little acts.
The few people I have asked what if they are the ones have said their minds, I want extensive opinions, hence my writeup. Also, to say this, she's a salary earner and I am into business, so sometimes, money is hooked up on business, like earlier this year, I expended all money on different things and I also bought two pieces of land, instead of getting one piece of land, in both our names (Mr $ Mrs) and I told her there after, if I will have food on the table as the rest money is tied up on other businesses that will bring money, she agreed, if not, I would have bought one plot and have big money to use till money will come in from my other investments, but that's my albatross now, as she has used the fact I dont have money presently to feel  assuming, feed herself and make me feel like shit, hoping for when I will eat from the dustbin..What if it were you reading me now?

Caught on camera: Moment thieves surround a tourist in Paris and take his money

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 08:12 AM PDT

This is the moment an aggressive gang of Roma young thieves surround a middle-aged tourist near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and took the money he just withdrew from a cash point.

Such scenes have become so common in the French capital that police last week called for the 'systematic eviction' of Roma. Groups of thieves, many of them teenagers, swarm around the main tourist landmarks day and night, UK Daily Mail reports. Continue...

The middle-aged victim turns around in a fright as the thieves swarm around him
'They respect nobody – they just want money or anything else they can steal,' said another tourist who witnessed the incident at the cashpoint between Notre Dame and the Louvre museum, in the 1st arrondissement.
"It might have been Easter, but the gangs were everywhere,' she said. 'One minute the man was making a cash withdrawal, the next he was a crime victim.
'If the police come anywhere near the Roma, they just laugh and then run off. Areas are becoming completely lawless.'

Paris is the most popular tourist destination in the world.

Getaway: The Roma pickpockets look for their next victim after targeting the tourist using a cash point near Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris
Charity and human rights groups were furious last week when a leaked police memo called for the 'systematic eviction' of Roma from the centre of the city.

It followed the country's Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, saying that the travelling communities of mainly Romanians and Bulgarians 'cannot integrate' and should be deported.

A spokesman for Charity group Catholic Help described the note as a 'scandal', saying that it 'stigmatised a poor community' and amounted to 'racial profiling'- something which is illegal in secular France.

But other Paris officials argued that Roma are behind most of the crime in the city, involving themselves in everything from aggressive begging to muggings and burglaries.

Gangs of young Roma, including women and children, can regularly be seen harassing tourists.

Many of the Roma beggars who congregate around cash points and banks have very young children with them, including babies.

Most of them live in large shanty towns on the outskirts of Paris, but more and more are setting up new camps in central parks and squares.
Jean-Pierre Colombies, spokesman for the SNOP-SCSI police union, said Roma were constantly moving around Paris.

'It's musical chairs' said Mr Colombies. 'We chase the Roma from one place to another, from one arrondissement to the next.'
Even Stephane Le Foll, spokesman for France's Socialist Government, appeared to back the police, saying that extremely poor communities living rough in Paris made 'everybody extremely nervous'.
Mr Le Foll said: 'We're obliged to regulate all that, to be clear on all that, not to consider that nothing has happened.'

Prime Minister Valls has continued a policy started by former president Nicolas Sarkozy of razing Roma camps, and trying to deport as many of their occupants as possible.

This has led to protests from a number of human rights groups, including Amnesty International, which points out that most Roma in France are Romanian or Bulgarian and as such are EU citizens with the right to live and work in the country.

Flamboyant lifestyle killed Chris Okotie's music career - Dede Mabiaku

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 06:46 AM PDT

Fela Anikulapo Kuti's protégé, Dede Mabiaku, in an exclusive interview with Encomium mag, said the reason Pastor Chris Okotie's musical career nosedived many years back was as a result of his excessive flamboyant lifestyle and his attitude of not listening to those who were guiding his career at that time.
"Nigeria has produced many great singers who promoted the culture of the band, among them were Mikel Okri, Feladay and Chris Okotie who is now a Pastor. He (Chris Okotie) was doing it live at that time but what he did at that time was not right. He had all the opportunity to help the young generation because he was the shining light but he killed the essence of it by his Flamboyance to the excess and his not wanting to listen to those  who were tele-guiding his growth. Let these young ones not fall prey to that, is what we are saying"
Mabiaku also talked about the upcoming artists who are trying to be the new Fela of our generation. See that after the cut...

When asked what he thinks of Burnaboy and Oritsefemi who are trying to bring back the legacy of Fela through their songs, Dede said;
"Let me correct one impression. Fela played music live. Fela never used synthesized sound. Fela scored his music and his lyrics came along. Fela groomed his band with the sound he had scored. Ethically, he cultured a sound built within a band. After that, he now performed this song over a period of time before going to the studio to record. See the sequence. Now let us come to the present day artiste, what are they doing? They just go into the studio, make few sounds together, make hooks, roll it round and round and round within a certain amount of minutes and voice on it later. The work is supposedly packaged and you have a musical video that goes with it and you think that is what is similar to what Fela is doing? I am not saying what Fela did because Fela is continual. That is why people still listen to his songs so many years after his physical exit. He is the most regarded Nigerian musician ever. He is the most regarded African celebrated on Broadway. That is because he was doing it live.  These children need to go back to the basics. Go and learn instrument, go and culture band, culture yourself. What is happening now is destruction and disservice to the quality of work Nigeria music industry should have. Granted and agreed they have good voices, granted and agreed they have good packaging, please for God's sake lets not class these songs as Afrobeat. Afrobeat is the music that came for the people, it is a way of life. Do they follow the tenets of this way of life?  No! However I am happy that after so many years, some of them are beginning to realize that the only thing that will make sense is natural African sound that comes with natural African elements. That is why people who are really making it are Solidstar, Davido and Flavour. Burnaboy and Oritsefemi you talked about are also in this category. All they just need to do is to learn more about it and if they do this, it will take the Nigerian music and African music largely to the next level. I fought 2face tire over the matter. He listened to me in the end. Miming is not good for this industry, it kills it. Let's not glorify mediocrity.

'Why I did not give birth abroad' - Muma Gee

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 04:47 AM PDT

Musician Gift Uwama popularly known as Muma Gee and her actor husband, Prince Oluemebe Eke welcomed a set of twins, a boy and a girl, on April 18th in Port Harcourt. The singer in a recent interview with  Encomium mag explained why she chose to give birth in Nigeria instead of traveling abroad like most of her colleagues do.
"I am a great woman and I wasn't born abroad. I was born in Rivers state. So my children will also be great. The hospital is in Rivers state. I am not one of those who would travel abroad and spend a lot of money to deliver their babies. I have told myself I will deliver in Nigeria and the children and I will all succeed here"
She also expressed her joy over the birth of her bundles of joy. See that after the cut...
"I am excited. I am elated. I am very happy and thankful to God Almighty. Words are not enough to express our feeling. I will say I am overwhelmed. It is like God, is this me? Are these beautiful babies for us? How did this happen? What have we done to deserve this miracle? I was not initially expecting twins. All I knew was that I started getting big and bigger. And people would see me and say, oh, you are looking so beautiful. I didn't believe I was going to have twins. We thank God."

Nicki Minaj starred in the movie. Kinda prefer her this way. Still sexy!

Meet the five Nigerian students arrested for Godwin Ayogu's murder

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 04:09 AM PDT

Five students of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of 19 year old Godwin Ayogu, who was also a student of the school. Sadly, all the students arrested are Nigerians, worst still, they were his friends. One in particular was his roommate.

The students arrested are: Ogunsanyo Abayomi (the roommate), Obi Mnaetochi Brendan Ilozumba, Oti Uchechukwu Chijooke, Jimoh Oluwatobiloba Timileyin and Isaac Ifidon (all pictured above).

It is believed that Ayogu was killed over money on the school campus. His body, with legs and hands tied, throat slit and intestines gushing out (last pic right), was then dumped at Amamoma on the outskirts of the university.
His cause of death after a post-mortem examination, was given as stab wounds to the heart. Continue

The Homicide Unit of the Police Criminal Investigations Department, Headquarters, Accra said after investigation, what they found out was that Ayogu's roommate, Ogunsanyo borrowed money from him to pay his school fees. But instead of paying back when he promised, he traveled to the UK, promising to pay back when he returned.

When he returned, instead of paying back, he moved out of the campus room he shared with Ayogu and rented a two-bedroom apartment outside the campus. Ayogu took the matter to other Nigerians who are students of the school, asking them to talk to Ogunsanyo to return his money.

Ayogu was last seen alive on February 18th. He was seen in the company of another friend of his named Oluwatobiloba. The two had gone to Ogunsanyo's apartment to demand Ayogu's money, in the course of which a scuffle ensued between Ayogu and Ogunsanyo.

The next morning Ayogu's body was discovered.

All five students disappeared from campus as soon as Ayogu's body was discovered. But through thorough investigations, police were able to find out what happened and arrested all five as soon as they resurfaced on campus

Ghanaian police said the suspects are assisting them in their investigations.

Robbers raid 8 Lagos streets, rape, destroy 30 cars in 7-hr rampage

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 03:39 AM PDT

According to a report by Punch, armed robbers numbering about 60 stormed 8 different streets in the Mushin area of Lagos in the early hours of Monday morning and operated unchallenged for about 7 hours. The armed men robbed, raped some girls and destroyed several cars during the operation. Full report below...
The hoodlums, who reportedly belonged to two cult groups – Akala boys and Toheeb's gang – ravaged New Balogun, Euba, Ayonuga, Tiamiyu, Haruna, Ereko, Oyedele streets and Coker Lane. A mosque on Coker Lane was not spared as the worshippers, who slept in the mosque after a vigil, were robbed by the hoodlums.
One of the people in the mosque told Punch that the robbers fired bullets for over one hour before robbing from house-to-house. Continue...

He said, "It was around 12am on Monday morning that we started hearing gunshots. It lasted for about an hour. Around 1am, they started going from house-to-house, robbing the occupants. They stole about seven laptops from the house opposite this mosque. They stole phones, money and everything they saw. They came inside the mosque and took our phones and money. People were crying throughout the night. It was terrible."

Another witness said the robbers were not in a haste. He said they robbed till 5am and came back at 6am to continue before leaving around 7am.

A Punch correspondent observed that a generator was also removed from its shed by the robbers. Vehicles parked on the streets were vandalised by the robbers, just as two Toyota Hilus van were burnt.

A Punch correspondent counted 20 vehicles, but some residents said about 10 damaged cars had been taken away by their owners for repairs.

Kasali Daramola, a driver who spoke while fighting back tears, told our correspondent he owned one of the burnt vehicles.
He said, "This is the third time they will do this to me. What have I done to them? The first was a Lexus car my younger brother bought for me, which I was planning to sell to acquire a commercial bus to take care of my four kids and wife. I sold the scrap for N30, 000. I used the money I raised to get a bus and I was paying for it by installment. I have not finished the payment when they destroyed it."

Daramola said the men entered his house and some of the ladies living there were raped.

He said attempts to bring in the police were abortive as they kept saying they were on their way without showing up.

A resident said, "For over five years now this area has not known peace. Will the police say they cannot do anything about it? Around 7am that policemen came here, they still saw some of those robbers around, but did not do anything. Why? I believe the police know all the people causing trouble here and if they want to do something, it doesn't take them anything."
Tosin Gbolahan, a resident, said a policeman attached to Alakara Police Station was with the hoodlums on Monday morning.

He said the hoodlums took advantage of a carnival that was held the previous night on Ojo Street to perpetrate the havoc.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back, but she had yet to do so as of press time.

Man-Utd Manager David Moyes sacked after only 10 months

Posted: 22 Apr 2014 02:10 AM PDT

Who didn't see this coming? David Moyes, the man who was handpicked by former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson to succeed him when he retired after 26 years in charge, has been sacked as the club's manager after only 10 months.

Moyes, 50, was dismissed at a meeting with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward at the club's Carrington training ground this morning, BBC reports.

Moyes left Everton to sign a six-year deal with Manchester United in 2013 but the premiere league champions have been playing poorly since he took over as manager.

Man U player-coach Ryan Giggs is expected to take charge of the club's next game at home against Norwich this coming Saturday.

Netherlands coach Louis Van Gaal, Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, Atletico Madrid's manager Diego Simeone and Paris St-Germain's Laurent Blanc have already been tipped as possible successors to Moyes, BBC reports.
