Kim K and and her third husband-to-be Kanye West are planning not one, not two, but three wedding ceremonies…

According to Radar Online the couple plan to have two ceremonies in France and one in Southern California for legal purposes. The Paris wedding date is rumored to be May 24th.
To avoid long lines and red tape, a source tells RadarOnline.com, the couple's lawyers recommended they hold a civil ceremony in the United States prior to their French nuptials on May 24.
"Typically, the U.S. recognizes citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare," the insider explains. "So just to make sure it's legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California."
Next, the couple will cross the Atlantic for their dream ceremony in Paris— and French law dictates that there be two wedding ceremonies.

Sossi, whose real name is Agboluaje Babatunde was born in 1991 and hails from Oyo town in Oyo state Nigeria. Iyanya shows football skills at Lagos Traders Cup opening ceremony

The 2014 Lagos Traders Cup kicked off over the weekend with a glamorous opening ceremony and 8 matches at Campos Square in Lagos. The competition, powered by leading telecoms provider  MTN features competing teams made up of traders drawn from the major markets across Lagos who turned out in large numbers with colorful fans and supporters in tow. 

MTN ambassador and superstar musician thrilled fans with an appearance at the opening ceremony, surprising onlookers with a few football tricks of his own which draw loud applause. Continue...



The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Tsola Barrow Acting CEO, MTN, Fehintola Mustapha, MTN GM, Deji Tinubu, NFF member ,Sola Aiyepeku, CEO SNT Selsports and Seyi Akinwunmi, Chairman, Lagos State FA

In some of the games played on a day of heavy downpour, Ilasamaja 4 defeated Dosunmu 1-0 while Oluwole played 1-1 with St Peters. Idi Araba defeated EDAN FC 2-0 amongst other results.

The winners of the Traders Cup, powered by MTN will be rewarded with an all expense paid trip to Brazil in June. One lucky fan will also win a trip to Brazil while prizes like ipods, phones and recharge cards can also be won through raffle draws held on every match day. The competition holds every Sunday from 20th April, Saturday April 26th, Sunday May 4th and the closing ceremony holds May 11th.

Singer Harrysong denies saying his parents were siblings

Harrysong a.k.a Mr. Songz has released a statement denying he ever granted an interview where he revealed his parents were siblings. Harrysong said the interview, which was published on April 22nd, was fabricated. The statement from his publicist below...
"I have not granted any magazine an interview in the last 12 months where I spoke about my late parent so I find it worrisome, disheartening that a magazine would manufacture a story like such. It is disturbing,' Harrysong vents.
Harrysong reiterates that he did not speak to YES! Magazine, neither as he spoken about his parents in the press in recent time. This would be the last and only statement Harrysong would be releasing.

Police recover 2-yr-old boy’s severed head in Ibadan

The Ogun state Police command has recovered the head of the 2 year old boy that was killed on April 16 by suspected ritualist, Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim. Mamodu had raped the little boy's mother at uncompleted building at Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode local government area of Ogun State before killing and beheading the boy. The man was later arrested by men of the Criminal Investigation Department on April 22, he took the police team to where he hid the little boy's severed head.
 
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, who spoke with Vanguard, the head was found inside a bag in Mokola area of Ibadan of Oyo state.
"He has confessed to the crime, but still keeping some information to himself regarding those that sent him to get the commodity. The suspect took the investigation team to Mokola area of Ibadan where the head was recovered from a bag in the bush. The Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, has however directed the detectives to intensify efforts to uncover the buyers and others who engage in such dirty deals" he said
Meanwhile officials of the National Security & Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Ogun State, yesterday arrested 32-year-old man, Olusegun Kehinde (pictured above), for allegedly kidnapping a nine-month-old boy, Malik Ogundeyi on Wednesday April 23 at No 1 Elegbede House Ore-meji street, Ijeun-Titun area of Abeokuta. 
 
In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in the state, Olanrewaju Kareem, said he was arrested following an alarm raised by the boys mother
"Men of the corps on patrol of PHCN facilities within Abeokuta arrested the suspect  as a result of alarm raised by the child's mother, Mrs Olanike Ogundeyi, when she saw her nine month-old baby, Malik Ogundeyi, with the suspect. According to Mrs Olanike Ogundeyi, the child was kidnapped when he strayed away while the mother was busy washing. She explained further that she left the baby in the passage while she left to pour used water at the backyard. The suspect claimed he lives at Okanlawon's compound, Oke-Ijeun, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State during interrogation." he said

Dixon Olakunbi wins Knorr Taste Quest2, gets N2m, SUV & kitchen equipment

Dixon Olakunbi, finally emerged from the keenly contested grand finale as the winner of the Unilever Nigeria-sponsored TV reality show tagged Knorr Taste Quest.

For her accomplishment, Dixon goes home with N2 million cash prize, a Ford Eco Sport SUV courtesy of Coscharis Motors, and Kenwood kitchen equipment. She now joins the Knorr Taste Quest hall of fame that already has winner of season one,  Lalu Surdiham who was also present at the grand finale. Continue...




Following closely as the second runner-up was  Nwando Onuigbo who gets a N1 million cash prize and Kenwood kitchen equipment.  Olabode Akinyoola ended as third place winner getting, N500,000 cash prize and Kenwood kitchen equipment. All other contestants who entered into the show went home with a consolatory prize of Kenwood kitchen equipment.


For the last challenge of the season, the finalists were told to prepare a three course meal within 1 hr 30 minutes. Ingredients for the Starter include, Catfish, Garden egg, Avocado, Cous cous, Quinoa and Atarodo.
For the Main, ingredients comprised Lamb, Corn, Breadfruit, Plantain, Rice, Fettuccine, Zucchini, Pumpkin, Aubergine, Leeks and Chocolate. To complete the three course was desert ingredients such as Mango, Melon, Flour and Butter.

At the end of the fiercely contested exercise that was laced with tension and drama, they all filed out to present their dishes one after another but it was Dixon's meal that unanimously earned the best reviews from the obviously impressed three-man judging panel. Head of the jury, Dr. Roberts confessed that although he was not a lover of avocado but he could not resist Dixon's experiment with the fruit.

"To say that I am shocked and surprised is an understatement,' declared an excited Dixon after she was declared winner. "I wasn't expecting to win. I hope that this is the beginning of good things to come; like more endorsements. This is just the beginning."
She added, "I didn't see it coming. I am competing against the best. It is not a case of one person does it better than all the rest. It is about understanding ingredients and working with time. There is no secret recipe anywhere. I didn't expect to win but I am grateful I won."
According to Doctor Roberts, the final decision was not easy but based on facts available to judges. "To be honest, I came into the finale without having an idea of who will emerge as the winner," confessed Doctor Roberts. He added, "It was a very level-playing field. It was anybody's game. Everything stood her out. Her starter, main course and desert were very good."
Expressing her satisfaction at the outcome of the show, Nsima Ogedi-Alakwe, Brand Building Director, Foods, Unilever, Nigeria said that the winner had displayed skills and talent worthy to be crowned as Nigeria's best cook.
"I am extremely satisfied. I take that from the excitement from the audience and the winner. She has displayed skills and talent that set her apart from her contemporaries. About 14 of them started out when the show began some 15 weeks ago. Anybody could have won," she submitted.
Knorr Taste Quest season two also witnessed unprecedented partnership from Cosharis Motors who donated the star prize of a Ford Eco Sport SUV as well as from Kenwood who donated kitchen equipment worth several millions.

Virgin Australia plane forced to land in Bali over fears of a hijack

A Virgin Australia plane (pictured above after it landed in Bali) was forced to land on the island of  Bali over fears of a possible hijack. Initially reports said the plane, which was flying from Australia and carrying 150 passengers, was being hijacked, but it was later found to be an aggressive drunk passenger who was trying to force his way into the cockpit.

The pilot sent a distress signal to airport authorities and the plane was cleared to land in Bali so the situation could be dealt with. BBC reports that immediately the plane landed, the drunk passenger, who had been overpowered by the crew and handcuffed him, was arrested at the airport.

Virgin Australia told ABC News that there has been a medical emergency aboard the plane but everything had been settled though the aircraft still remains on the tarmac at Bali's Denpasar airport.

Security meeting ends; GEJ asks security chiefs to go after missing girls

The extraordinary National Security Council meeting convened today by President Jonathan has ended with all members calling on all Nigerians to be security concious at all times saying security matter is one that concerns everyone.

The council advocated for religious tolerance amongst all citizens and asked spiritual leaders to spread the gospel of practicing the various faiths without any form of acrimony.

They challenged the various security agents to be more professional in their duties and also gave a marching order to the security forces to go in search of the missing girls abducted from Chibok Borno state on April 14.
The council also resolved to domesticate the activities of herdsmen so they can carry out grazing activities within a particular region. This is in a bid to stem the recent tide of herdsmen menace also being experienced.

Two-storey building collapse at Oworonsoki, Lagos

A two-storey building under construction on Sea Beach lane at Oworonsoki, a suburb in Lagos state collapsed today April 24th leaving 4 children and 6 adults with various degrees of injury. Reports say the children were on the site to help with menial jobs when the building gave way.

The 10 victims were immediately rushed to the General Hospital Gbagada where they're all receiving treatment.

Five male University students gang-rape male colleague

Wait, say what? Did this really happen? According to Leadership Newspaper it did. Below is how they are reporting it
Five male students of a Nigerian university landed into a big soup when they allegedly gang raped another young boy who nearly bled to death from the injuries he sustained from the assault.
Leadership learnt that one of the students, a 2nd year student whose name was given as Friday Desmond, had been lovers with the raped boy who name was given as George. He had promised to marry George as soon as he graduated from university. Their illicit love affair had been going on smoothly with both of them meeting regularly at selected places

On that fateful day, however, Friday took four of his friends to Bwari Area Council where George lived with his parents and lured George to a hotel in the neighbourhood. LEADERSHIP learnt that the five students took turns to rape George.

After the incident George was allowed to go. At home, he discovered that he was bleeding from his anus. He quickly alerted his parents who tried every first aid measure to stop the bleeding to no avail. They quickly rushed George to a nearby medical centre where the health officials put him on intensive care.

Every attempt to stop the bleeding failed. The distraught parents enquired what happened to him and he told them how the five students gang raped him and left him with the injuries.

The parents immediately reported the matter in a police station in the area council and the operative swung into action and arrested Friday. LEADERSHIP learnt that the Police in Bwari later transferred the case to Kubwa where Friday is said to have remained in detention.

When LEADERSHIP contacted the FCT police command PRO, Altine Daniel, she said she was not aware of the case. She however demanded for the day the incident occurred so that she could find out from the station where the incident was reported.

Alexandra Wright moved herself and her 4 year old son, Nixon, into a trailer park just outside Los Angeles recently and invited CNN Inside Edition cameras to film the occasion.

A woman's support group provided the new home for Alexandra and Nixon after she publicly begged for help, explaining how she was forced to leave her home because she could no longer afford to pay rent. A judge had made it impossible for Alexandra to collect anymore child support from her baby daddy Matthew Knowles, for the next two years after slashing payments from $12,000 to $2,500 a month, due to his dwindling income. 

Alexandra had earlier planned to move into a homeless shelter before the trailer was provided for her. See the pictures after the cut...

I don't hold her accountable. I hold the father of my child accountable. One article said I blamed Beyonce. Again, let me say for the record - it's not her fault. I've never blamed her. I want the best for her. Everyone's in pain.' 
Alexaandra said Matthew has hardly seen his son. She told Inside Edition: 'You've seen more of my son than he has.'
