| Photo: Four suspected armed robbers arrested in Ogun State... Posted: 01 Feb 2016 12:43 PM PST  Four suspected armed robbers were arrested by the Ogun State Police Command along Ode Lemo Road, Sagamu, Ogun State. The suspects identified as David Ogunjinrin, and Mohammed Ibrahim were arrested by police detectives attached to Sagamu Divison led by the Divisional Police Officer after they received a distress call about an ongoing robbery. When the police arrived the crime scene, the robbers had already attacked their victim and dispossesed him of his motorcycle, mobile phones and money. The two suspects led the police to their hideout in Onoajegbe Village in Iperu Ogun state where two other members of the gang identified Adebayo Segun and Muda Yahaya were arrested. Among items recovered from them were a Bajal Motorcycle and a locally made single barrel gun. PM News reports that the suspected armed robbers who confessed to have carried out numerous crimes in Lagos and Ogun state claimed to be from Lagos State. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Celestine Okoye, who spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali commended the Divisional Police officer and his men for the good job and directed that the case be transferred to the Special-Anti Robbery Squad Abeokuta for further Investigation. |

They were accused of receiving the $620, 000 as bribe from Otedola so that they can exclude the names of Otedola's companies, Zenon Petroleum and Gas as well as Synopsis Enterprises Limited, from the list of companies found to have allegedly defrauded the Federal Government of billions of naira in the petroleum subsidy scam, which their committee was created to investigate. |

| PDP Laments Buhari’s Attack On Judiciary Posted: 01 Feb 2016 09:08 AM PST  The peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urges the judiciary, as the last hope of the common man, to continue to assert its independence and not allow itself to be deterred from upholding justice and the rule of law, no matter the pressure The judicial community and in fact, all discerning Nigerians were shocked by the release by the Presidency on Sunday wherein President Muhammadu Buhari was quoted to have described the judiciary as the 'major headache' of his administration. This statement is a direct affront on the statutorily guaranteed independence of the judiciary and more worrisome is the fact that a President of a country had to tie back already settled judgments of the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, in cases involving him, as a benchmark of his assessment of the institution of the judiciary at the moment. While we express worry at the attacks on the judicial arm of government, we are aware that they are intended to blackmail and stampede the judiciary to deliver judgments against the PDP in various pending cases involving our party and some of our leaders in the courts. While we urge the judiciary to ensure that it adequately guards its flanks from all external influences, we also caution the executive to focus on governance, while respecting the constitutionally guaranteed principle of separation of powers by allowing the judiciary and the legislature indeed, all statutory arms of government to freely operate within the bounds provided by our laws. Finally, the PDP wishes to call on critical stakeholders to appreciate the fact that the Judiciary, in its nature as an arbiter, cannot join issues with the other arms, and such needs to be defended from the brazen blackmail by the APC-led Government. When you said you had to go, reality hits me hard between my eyes like a rock and knock me down to the ground. It was when I needed you most, maybe today it would of been a different story but.. Today I thank GOD for the life I have, the lessons I learnt and for the future HE give me the privilege to embrace. This year I make peace with my past and I ask GOD to forgive me for all the wrong things that I've done. I'm ready to take full responsibility for my actions and words henceforth so I'm using this grace to find peace with people who have had an impact in my life good or bad, say sorry to those I might have offended and forgive those who I've been angry with for I want HIS favor and blessings in my life! That as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD! About the last message, I knew the right thing to say. When you said "if" that uncertainty took me back to and thru everything as much as I'm willing to forget, it was hard for me to think you had no feelings for me at all and its not just after the breakup. Apparently, I don't want any of those left, it should all be gone for a new, real and genuine one to develop and grow. I'm willing to start from winning your trust, but are you willing to give me that chance? I'm not gonna keep doing that to myself the old way. I don't deserve it, my heart don't, but because I love you, whether it's wrong or right, I go that extra mile. As a man, I need a woman I could love this way. Amnesty said Mohammed was in charge of 7 Division of the army when the military allegedly executed more than 640 detainees after Boko Haram Islamists attacked the detention centre in Giwa barracks, Maiduguri, capital of the restive northeastern state of Borno on March 14th 2014. In a statement signed by Salil Shetty, Amnesty's secretary general, today February 1st, the group said Mohammed was retired in 2014 for unrelated reasons but was surprisingly reinstatement on January 17th "Major General Mohammed must be investigated for participating in, sanctioning or failing to prevent the deaths of hundreds of people. Young men and boys, rounded up by the military, were either shot, starved, suffocated or tortured to death and no one has yet been held to account. It is unthinkable that Major General Mohammed could resume command of troops before an investigation has even begun. Seven months after the publication of these horrific discoveries and the (Nigerian) President's pledge that they will be looked into, we continue to call for urgent independent investigations to begin,". |

Northern Cape Premier Sylvia Lucas, who attended the funeral urged all parents to be vigilant about the whereabouts of their children. "It is times like theses which remind us just how precious our children are . . . they are truly gifts from the Almighty Father. As parents we should ensure that we give them our unwavering support and love at all times. We should guard and protect them to the best of our abilities to ensure their safety. In the spirit of ubuntu we should care for one another and share each others' joy and sadness. Tall, dark, handsome, rich and must be an amazing cook. I met this guy recently and he seemed okay so I decided to give it a try and visit him at home yesterday.  We sat and talked about everything as he prepped chicken and potatoes for the grilled chicken and fries he was about to make me. It's not everyday you get treated to a romantic meal, so I couldn't help but smile as I watched him wipe off sweat with his forearm, as he turned over some sizzling chicken. Laughter and giggles soon turned into agitation as we watched the room get a little dimmer. After a few minutes of fidgeting with the knob of his black gas stove, Daniel mouthed in frustration "sorry, I'm out of gas" Please ladies what would you do if you were in my shoes? |
