Jennifer Garner breaks her silence on Nannygate, says she doesn't blame the nanny for her divorce

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 01:18 PM PST

After nearly a year of speculations, actress Jennifer Garner has finally opened up about the demise of her 10 year marriage to Ben Affleck in Vanity Fair's March issue. Ben was accused of having an affair with the couple's 28-year-old nanny, Christine Ouzounian, which led to the demise of their marriage...but Jennifer says they'd been separated for months before she heard of the nanny. Sharing her own side of the story, the actress said;

"Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation," she says. That said, she doesn't feel Christine was a good fit for her family. "Bad judgment? Yes. It's not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives." Months later, Jennifer is still picking up the pieces. "I have had to have conversations about the meaning of 'scandal.'"
Jennifer said despite the pain she went through following the demise of her marriage, she is uninterested in trashing Ben - though she appreciates the public's concern.
"People have pain—they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain," she says. "No one needs to hate him for me. I don't hate him. Certainly we don't have to beat the guy up. Don't worry—my eyes were wide open during the marriage. I'm taking good care of myself."
To take care of herself, Jennifer said she exiled herself from the Internet.
"I turned on CNN one day, and there we were," she recalls. "I just won't do it anymore. I took a silent oath with myself last summer to really stay offline. I am totally clueless about all of it." Ben, however, paid more attention to how their breakup played out in the press. "Ben says, 'Oh, you just don't care,' and I say, 'No, it's the opposite.' It hurts me so much, and I care so much. I cannot be driven by the optics of this. I cannot let anger or hurt be my engine," Jennifer says. "I need to move with the big picture always on my mind, and the kids first and foremost."

Metuh named Jonathan in torn statement - EFCC

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 01:02 PM PST

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today said the spokesperson of PDP Olisa Metuh, named former President Goodluck Jonathan in the statement he allegedly tore while in custody on January 12th. At the resumed hearing of the case against Metuh at the Abuja High Court, a staff of the antigraft agency, Junaid Said, said Metuh admitted that he received N400 million arms money, which was used for political activities, his personal needs, and assignments delegated by Jonathan.

"My Lord, when he concluded writing his statement, which was on four sheets of the EFCC statement form, I collected the statement and read over it, I then handed the statement over to my superiors Musa and Wetkas. When I was handing over the statement, the defendant said he was surprised that he had written that much and that he felt he had given too much information. Because of the comment, I was worried; I gave him the statement sheets one after the other for endorsement. He endorsed the first and second sheet, but he tore the third sheet. The third sheet was where the defendant disclosed that he received the money for PDP political activities, settle his personal needs and made reference to former President Goodluck Jonathan. My lord, he suddenly tore the statement sheet into pieces. In great shock and surprise, I stood up [and] I asked him why he did what he did. He said he did that because he was no longer willing to give the information on that statement sheet. I then requested the pieces of the statement, he declined and attempted to put them in his pocket, I then cautioned him and told him to respect himself; he insisted that he was going to dispose the torn sheet. I persuaded him to handover the tore sheet and brought one plain paper before him; he poured the pieces on the plain sheet. My other colleagues were there looking at us in surprise as well. "He further tore them into pieces, saying only in the movies would this be recovered. I poured the pieces in the commission's transparent polythene bag for exhibit and made entry of the incident into the EFCC's incident duty station diary as well as EFCC's pocket notebook. Later, in the day he requested to make additional statement, which he made, wrote his name and signed but declined to make any other statement on the torn paper."he said

Kris Jenner wants Kanye West out?

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 11:44 AM PST

According to reports Kris Jenner is fed up with her son-in-law Kanye West's public outbursts and wants him out of her house... Radar Online reports below...
Keeping up with the Kardashians momager Kris Jenner has finally had enough of her son-in-law's antics! As the 38-year-old rapper husband to Kim Kardashian continues to destroy his family's already damaged reputation, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Jenner has told him he's no longer welcome in her home.
Since Sept. 2015, West and Kardashian, along with their children North, 2 and newborn son, Saint, have been living with the 60-year-old matriarch as their nearby Hidden Hills estate undergoes extensive renovations. But as West's behavior grows more erratic, "Kris cannot deal with either of them anymore," a source told Radar. "Kanye has become completely uncontrollable." "Kris has asked them to move into a rental," the insider said.
"More than once. But they refuse." So instead, Jenner's moved out herself! As fans of this season's KUWTK finale got to see, Jenner recently bought a condo nearby so that she and boyfriend Corey Gamble, 36, could have some refuge. "Kris and Corey have been staying at her other place every night lately because she cannot take it," a Kardashian family insider explained. "Having to deal with Kanye's rants has caused Kris more stress than she can handle right now and she cannot wait until Kim's house is finished." But will the couple make it that far? As Radar previously reported, Kardashian and West have been at war with each other for weeks and sources say they are headed for divorce.

Anyone knows this woman? She was found on the streets of Lagos

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 11:32 AM PST

This elderly woman was picked up by a compassionate woman named Iyabode Adisa Ayokunle, who saw her lying on the ground along Abisogun Leigh Street just by Zenith Bank at Aguda Bustop in Ogba, Lagos. Here is Iyabode's account of how she met the old woman...
"Today something happened on my way home from work. I was driving thru Abisogun Leigh Street just by Zenith Bank at Aguda Bstop in Ogba when I saw a woman lying by the side of the road.
People didn't want to go near her everybody minding their business. I parked my car and walked over to her. Asked her a few questions . She was obviously quite weak and didn't seem to know where she was coming from or where she was going. Two guys also came over and helped carry her to a safer spot. Then we bought her water, malt and rice. She gulped down the malt hurriedly and threw up all she drank. We started calling 112 the no for the Lagos State Emmergency Services. They said someone would come to carry her . I made a call to someone close to The Govt. The ambulance came at 8.05pm. About 90 mins after the calls were made. The ambulance attendants took a cursory look at the woman from afar and said they will call social services to come carry her. That this wasn't their bit. They hadn't even examined or spoken to her. I was enraged along with the other bystanders who stood to see that help comes the way of this woman. I threatened to call the Governor and started taking their pics with my phone. Then they asked us to calm down and interrogated the weak woman for another gruelling 40 mins before they took her into their ambulance. U would think these women were soldiers who had captured a BH suspect. The woman seems to have some form of Amnesia as she doesn't know her full address. She gave her name as Mary Thompson from Calabar. Attached is her pic. The only thought that occured to me when I stopped was that she is someone's mother. I am.posting her pic here just in case someone knows her here. She is now in the custody of the Lagos State Ambulance Services.

NFF appoint Samson Siasia, Yusuf and Amuneke as caretaker coaches for Egypt clash

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 11:27 AM PST

The Nigerian Football Federation this evening released a press statement to confirm Samson Siasia, Salisu Yusuf, Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu as the four coaches that will act as caretaker coaches in Nigeria's upcoming AFCON qualifier double-header match with Egypt next month.

Sunday Oliseh had resigned from his post as Super Eagles coach in the early hours of today.

The NFF Technical committee after meeting in Abuja today have immediately put up tactical cover to prevent the Super Eagles from missing out on another AFCON competition with the Egypt match about three weeks away.

Read the press statement From NFF below...
''Nigeria has re-appointed Samson Siasia as Head Coach of the Senior National Football Team, Super Eagles. He will work with respected tactician Salisu Yusuf, FIFA U-17 World Cup –winner Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
"'The combination was recommended by the NFF Technical and Development Committee following Sunday Oliseh's resignation on twitter in the early hours of Friday.'' the NFF said on their official website. ''Siasia served as Super Eagles' Head Coach between December 2010 and October 2011, before his contract was terminated following the team's failure to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. ''Amuneke led the Nigeria U-17 boys to a fifth FIFA World Cup title in Chile last year and was hailed for his excellent comportment and maturity, as well as the tremendous skills of his players.'' '
"Salisu Yusuf and Alloy Agu were in the immediate past crew led by Oliseh and will serve as the bridge with the new team as Nigeria gets set for a potentially –explosive double date with the Pharaohs in March.''
"Siasia and Amuneke are among few ex-Nigeria internationals who boast impressive track record in coaching. Amuneke, who has a UEFA Pro licence, was assistant to Manu Garba when the Nigeria U-17 squad won a fourth FIFA World Cup title in 2013, and then headed the crew that successfully defended the trophy last year.'' ''Siasia steered the Nigeria U-20 team to the African title in 2005 and led the team to runner-up spot at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in The Netherlands the same year. He also led the U-23 to silver medal in the men's football tournament of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and two months ago, led the U-23 to win the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal, in the process qualifying the team to this year's Olympics.''
"Both men scored as Nigeria achieved an impressive debut at the FIFA World Cup in the USA in 1994. Amuneke scored against Bulgaria and Italy and Siasia scored against Argentina.'' ''Amuneke also scored the two goals as Nigeria edged Zambia to win the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time on away soil in Tunis in 1994, and also scored the winner as Nigeria defeated Argentina to win Africa's first Olympics football gold in USA two years later.''

APC National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun takes 10-day break from politics to rest

Posted: 26 Feb 2016 08:35 AM PST

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Friday disclosed that he will take a 10-day break starting Monday 29th February, 2016 to enable him rest.  In a chat with APC correspondents, he stated that in his absence,‎ the party's Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni ‎will cover his beat.

‎He dispelled a media report suggesting an "internal strife" in the party and a move to "ease" him out of office. Below is the excerpts from the media chat:

‎‎Odigie-Oyegun's opening remarks -

I have been APC National Chairman for how long now? Going to two years, and it has been a very intense period building the party and a very intense period putting government together up to this point. All that has happened is that I think I deserve a bit of a break and that will start effective Monday.

In my absence, the party's Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni will cover my beat. It is that simple, it is that straightforward. Any speculation about not being in the office is of no consequence.

On Tuesday I was down with malaria, I managed on Wednesday to attend that crucial meeting at the presidency, yesterday (Thursday) I had to go to the hospital just to be sure and today I am at work, full stop. So please, please, please I know the press is supposed to be imaginative and steer the news but not when there is really nothing to steer. It is that simple.

How long is the break?‎

Ten working days (two weeks). So if you start counting from Monday, you should know when I'll be back. The meeting on Wednesday bothered on such important national issues, chairman or no chairman position has nothing to do with such serious national issues of national importance, which a very serious and select group like that was put together to address so nothing as mundane as whether the future of the chairman is in doubt or not.‎

On reported apologies by a party leader at Wednesday's meeting at the presidency‎

‎As a matter of fact it was most funny that whilst the meeting was on, the social media was already agog with exactly what you just mentioned and somebody read it to us right at the meeting and everyone had a good laugh and that was the end of the matter. Like I said there are serious issues of national importance and that group is one of the most select in the party. It is a group that brings all aspects of government and party at the highest level together so you can infact guess the kind of things that they will be addressing not things as mundane as who is apologizing to who. When eventually some of the issues reach the stage that we have answers, we do not want to call the press and say look, we have these questions and we are trying to work out answers. We'll work on the answers and at the proper time the appropriate person will brief the press.‎

When will the APC Board of Trustees be constituted?

The  Board of Trustees will be meeting on the 22nd of March the day before the National Caucus will be meeting and the NEC of the party will be meeting on the 24th.‎

Will there be replacement of officers at NEC?

The constitution provides the methodology for that and we have to have congresses all over in the interim to fill these vacancies. And the issue that was raised about filling the vacancy left by the exit of Lai Mohammed. You can understand the problem of replacing a man of the performance level of Lai Mohammed so we are still looking. If any of you are very interested you let us know so long as you can match the performance of Lai Mohammed.

It's been almost 9 months since the APC took over government at the federal level, when are Nigerians seeing results?

I do not see how anybody can give you a date but very very soon. I have no doubts at all. The president knows what our national issues are, he knows that a lot of it has international connotations. A group of the World is fighting to be the most highly industrialized. China wants cheap oil because it's a manufacturing hub, India wants cheap oil and a lot of other countries want cheap oil which of course is contrary to our own interest because we want good prices for oil so that we can carry on with our own national development plans. So that is only the tip of the iceberg of what Mr president is doing, trying to talk to those who have an impact in rearranging the international economic realities to change some of the current dynamics that is making oil collapse in such a precipitate manner.

On the president's trips abroad

We want to plead with the press we cannot totally on our own solve our problems, the world is a global village, everybody now knows that, everybody trumpets it and since we are in a bit of a bind now, thanks to forces not totally within our control, we must talk to others, who would have a role to play in helping you out of your present issues and problems. So that is where we are  we need a lot of investment, we need a lot of infrastructural upgrading and you would be surprised that very soon, particularly in the field of infrastructure some of what Mr. President has been travelling about putting together, would become manifest, because these projects would start the process of implementation and  they would bring smiles to the faces of Nigerians.

Some of the last trips especially the ones to the Middle East countries have had to do with oil and you read some of it in papers that we have to do something to shore up the prices of crude worldwide, because the minutes we allow things to drop to the point that what you get paid become less than what you invest in, producing it, then we have real serious issues. So Mr. President. is doing a fanstatic job. It is not building an estate or things you can see visually and physically, but it is building and rebuilding the cracked foundation of our nation Nigeria. Please let's understand that that is what is going on. Let's understand because he (Buhari) is the best salesman internationally for this nation.

‎On claims by the PDP of a plot to gag the opposition.

Well, from whom did the PDP Chairman, Uche Secondus collect the gift? Was it from a corporate entity or from an individual? If it's from the government coffers, if its, its public funds. If a corporate entity decided to support a party or an individual that is corporate, that is private that is totally the individual's decisions subject of course to the limit in the constitution and what the electoral Act provide.  I think is that straight forward. Look, I don't know how often we will repeat this, we have a major. problem with corruption, it is what has crippled this nation and if you are cutting down a tree where. Ever its falls so be it. If he happens to be a participant so be it,  the colour, the party, ethnic group or whatever as. you can see just does not matter anymore. So, I don't know how else to explain that. In sixteen years, this is the first progressive, actively anti-corruption government that this nation has had so if the results are the way they are, I mean,  did you expect anything different, I don't know unless somebody is wiser here and we will like to share from your wisdom because it could improved the way that we do things, if we are investigating corruption, where else except those who have participated in government and in the process, eh I don't know, please enlighten me if there is other way to look at it and then we will go and give it a thought

On APC efforts to ensure that state governments domesticate the party's election promises, especially on social development programmes.‎

All I can tell you is that, they are going to be Federal Programme, they have been actively worked upon, but they are going to be implemented without doubt with the active participation with the state governments who would also have to put in something in the process in terms of resources. These programmes are real and not only real, we have the support of UN and various agencies like the Bill Gate Foundation are all going to participate, so it's all the matter of time, we are talking of months not years when these programmes would swing into action more than that, I cannot say now because  I don't want  to still ponder on the other relevant agencies be the ones to unveil their action plans, their implementation plan at the appropriate time, but I can assure you that they have been actively worked upon with very intense international participation.‎
