The other day Linda Ikeji had to blogg that she was obsessed with the song Rabba and what Kiss and Sugarboy had done to it here The next morning, the song was going to make iTunes break the bank. But we all acted like we didnt hear that song. But why are we like this? Forming the very unfortunate habit of sleeping on talent and inventing the weirdest new yardsticks for musical greatness and acceptance. Well, me "I just dey laugh" in Obasanjo's voice cause I know "There is God o!" and na Him dey give talent so He will find away to bring what the boy deserves. Let it be made clear, my protest is not a finger in the direction of the celebrated as undeserving of the fame but in the direction of the underrated as undeserving of the punishment While my camera is on standbye mode for the day i meet him, please if you know him kindly tell him to keep at what he is doing and keep his standards never lower as we are not going to KISS DANIELS goodbye anytime soon. | Omoni Oboli’s Wives On Strike in cinemas April 8, releases colourful poster Posted: 03 Feb 2016 12:32 PM PST  The movie, Wives on Strike, which will be in cinemas from April 8, features a blend of Nollywood talents, such as Uche Jombo, Chioma Akpotha, Ufuoma Mcdermott, Kehinde Bankole, Kalu Ikeagwu, Julius Agwu, Kenneth Okonkwo and many others. Wives on Strike, a hilarious comedy about a group of market women who decided to take matters into their own hands against their husbands in a bid to stir them into standing up for a young girl whom they wanted to protect from the wishes of her own father. The women, who hilariously interpret their roles, set a series of events in motion to give the movie many moments of laughter without missing a beat on the reason for everyone to know why they are on strike. | Posted: 03 Feb 2016 12:19 PM PST  One of the parents said: "They are no better than ghosts, so we will bury them alive" According to Daily Sun SA, the parents are demanding the immediate removal of the teachers.They said the teachers are expected to be teaching pupils during school hours, but instead use the time to rest or take care of personal matters. "You are putting the future of our children at risk," said the parents.Worried parent Mthembeni Sokhela, 47 told Daily Sun there is an ongoing fight at the school between teachers who belong to the National Teachers Union (Natu) and those who have joined the South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu). "I went to this school recently and found Sadtu teacher sitting under a tree. When the principal, a Natu member, told him he was supposed to be in class, the teacher told him to go there himself," said Sokhela. He said the parents believe this is why the pass rate at the school had dropped. In 2014 and in 2015 only four pupils passed. "How can children pass when teachers just sit around and still get a full salary every month?" asked Sokhela..A worried grade 11 pupil shared her frustration with Daily Sun. "Our teachers are selfish and they're gambling with our future. We find ourselves caught in the middle of something that has nothing to do with us. Most of the times we are just sitting around because teachers refuse to come to class," she said.SGB chairman Zweni Mbatha said: "The situation is very tense. Angry parents threaten to bury the teachers alive if the department does not take action."KZN Education spokesman Sihile Mlotshwa said the matter has reached their office. "The MEC was due to hold a meeting at these school but had other commitments. She has sent a task team to meet the parents. We promise that a satisfying solution will be found," said Mlotshwa.KZN Sadtu deputy secretary Dolly Caluza said: "We distance ourselves from speculations that the misunderstanding between teachers at this school is union-motivated. We will try our best to support the school."Natu deputy president Allen Thomson also denied that the ongoing fight has anything to do with the unions. "It started in 2014 when teachers reported the principal for mismanagement. Ever since then he has been provoking them in every possible way," Thomson said. "The fight against graft requires the collaborative support of all and sundry, most especially the international community for it to be won", he said. According to the EFCC boss, the present administration in the country is poised to recover the nation's commonwealth looted and laundered in foreign countries by corrupt elements. He said the Commission has intelligence that the UAE is considered a safe haven by corrupt politically exposed persons in Nigeria. A-Mahmud pledged the support of his country to Nigeria's anti-graft war. "No counrtry can be an island on its own without the support of others." the UAE Ambassador said. |

It turned out that he had failed to declare diamond and gold jewels with him. He allegedly had diamonds worth over £100k in his hand luggage and it appears that the initial thought by the security men, was that he was an illegal dealer. To clear their doubts, the very angry Jeweller mentioned his company name in order for the appropriate authorities to confirm anything they needed to know. A proper confirmation was done, Micheal aka Malivelihood was later released and he eventually boarded his flight. | International Marathon: Lagos restricts movement on major highways...announces alternative routes Posted: 03 Feb 2016 08:12 AM PST  The Lagos International Marathon, which was last held in 1983, is billed to be attended by over 20,000 athletes, including over 20 world class marathoners. Speaking during a press conference at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi disclosed that the Marathon will start from the National Stadium and move to Anthony, and thereafter to Gbagada Road, Third Mainland Bride through Alfred Rewane to Lekki Ikoyi Bridge and terminate at Eko Atlantic City. Elegushi, who explained that the Marathon will commence at 7am, said the restriction of traffic will however start from 6:30am and end at 1pm, adding that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure that security operatives and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) barricade access to the dual carriage way to be affected by the event. According to him, all traffic flow and access from Alaka and Alhaji Masha to National Stadium towards Ojuelegba and along Western Avenue terminating at Anthony Bus stop would be blocked, while the whole stretch of the Anthony Oke to Gbagada unto Third mainland Bride along with accesses at New Garage, Adeniji Adele interchange; Sura/Simpson and Obalende would equally be blocked. He added that all access from Dolphin Estate towards Osborne terminating at Falomo Road About would be blocked for the event, while access to Falomo Roundabout from Alfred Rewane (Kingsway Road), Awolowo Road and traffic from Victoria Island would also be affected. According to Elegushi, other areas to be affected include all access/link roads along Bourdillon up to Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge Roundabout and the Link Bridge, while there would also be blockade of traffic on Admiralty Way from the bridge outlet inward Lekki-Epe Expressway inward Ozumba Mbadiwe to Akin Adesola, Bishop Oluwole and Bar Beach (Atlantic City). He, however, call on all Lagosians "to see the event not only as a sporting event but for its tourism content. As a people who are naturally friendly, we should put on display, our positive attitude to visitors," Elegushi counseled. He said governor would not hesitate to lift the restriction if and when it is perceived as necessary to bring about free flow of traffic. While regretting any inconveniences that the residents might suffer as a result of the restriction, Elegushi said the security operatives and LASTMA officials have been stationed to ensure free flow of traffic in all the other alternative routes which the people could make use of during the event. On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of LASTMA, Christ Olakpe assured residents of the preparedness of his men to ensure a hitch-free tournament. Olakpe, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, added that instructions have been given to his men to be civil in dealing with residents.
