90yr old woman who donated her life savings to Buhari presidential campaign dies

Hajia Fadimatu Mai Talle Tara, the 90 year old woman who donated her N1 million savings to the Buhari presidential campaign organization last year has died. She died this morning at her home.



She was a popular food vendor in Koko, Koko/Besse Local Government Area of Kebbi State. She was a widow and is survived by 15 children and 15 grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.

A couple and their two children were involved in a fatal accident on Thursday, February 11, at Kaltungo in Gombe state. The family was reportedly traveling to Adamawa State from Maiduguri in their private car - a Honda, when the accident occurred killing the man on the spot. The woman and the children were rescued but were seriously injured. The three were taken to Kaltungo General Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment. President Buhari has approved the sack of the Vice Chancellors of 13 universities established by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. ‎A statement signed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu today, said President Buhari has approved the appointment of new Vice Chancellors for the Universities

According to the statement, a former Head, Department of International Relations at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, who was said to be on Sabbatical in NOUN is the new Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

While the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State has Prof. Auwal Yadudu of the Faculty of Law.

Bayero University, Kano has as its new VC, Prof. Fatima Batoul Muktar of the Department of Biology, North West University, Kano is the VC of Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State.

A lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Haruna Abdu Kaita is the new VC of Federal University, Dutsin Ma, Katsina State, while Prof. Andrew Haruna of the Department of Linguistics, University of Jos will now function as VC, Federal University, Gashua, Yobe State.

While another lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy, ABU, Zaria, Prof. Magaji Garba, will now be VC in Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State.

Prof. Alhassan Mohammed Gani of the Institute of Maritime Studies, Federal University, Kashere in Gombe State has been elevated to the position of VC in same University.

A lecturer in the Department of Physics, Federal University, Lafia, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman will henceforth be VC of same institution.

For Prof. Angela Freeman Miri of the Linguistics Department, UNIJOS, she is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja.

The Federal University, Ndifu-Alike, Ebonyi State now has Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba of the Post-Graduate School, Imo State University, Owerri as its VC, while Prof. Seth Accra Jaja of the Department of Management, University of Port Harcourt is now the VC of Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

In a bid to share some love this season, particularly with people in dire need, the staff of Wema Bank Plc have each donated a day's salary for Love in an initiative they named Purple Nectar (www.purplenectar.info). This initiative, designed to touch 10 lives positively while celebrating this year's Valentine Day, is driven by staff with the support of management of the bank.


The Purple Nectar initiative is a shift from the conventional romantic way of celebrating St Valentine's Day between couples,to showing love to people in the Nigerian society who are in need of immediate assistance. These individuals were selected by staff across the regions in Nigeria. They currently face serious health issues/challenges ranging from cancer, kidney failure, polio, abandonment as well as other difficult life situations. Donated salaries will be split equally among the beneficiaries, to be presented during this season.

Kanye's camp reacts to Model's claim that he wasn't paid a dime for work

Kanye West's camp is firing back at the extra who claims that he was not paid for the Yeezy Season 3 show. According to them, all models were fed, paid and dressed for the gig. According to TMZ
'A rep for Kanye tells us extras got a daily rate and received a meal ticket for lunch. While the hours were long for the gig, we're told the majority of the crew was thrilled to be in the show.
A source close to the production tells TMZ all models were dressed in Yeezy Season 3 gear, but because of the large number of participants ... some extras were in vintage clothing that had been dyed for the production. We're told they were paid $10/hr. Our source says everyone involved in the show had to sign a very strict NDA, so it's a little fishy the "kurents" guy is so chatty.'

The police in Abuja last Saturday February 6th, disrupted a gay wedding between the two men pictured above. The wedding between Abdul Lawal (right) who is supposed to be the husband and Umar Tahir (left) the wife, was supposed to hold at a popular hotel in Jiwa Community of Abuja, King's Land Hotel in Abuja. Acting on a tip off, the police laid siege at the venue of the wedding.

Guests had already started arriving the venue of their wedding which was well decorated and as soon as the bride and groom, both from Kaduna state, arrived the venue, they were immediately arrested and taken to the Gwagwa Police Station where they were detained.

Eyewitnesses say that other people, including the sponsors of the wedding, chairman of the occasion and the owner of the hotel were also arrested during the raid.

The sponsors of the marriage were named as Abubakar Tahir and Mohammed Sani.
