Student kills own baby in Kaduna

An SS1 student of the Federal Government Girls College, Malali, Kaduna state has been arrested after she allegedly murdered her own baby and tried to dispose of the corpse today February 10th. According to Daily Trust, the student attempted to throw the baby over a female hostel fence, but the corpse got caught on the fence
 
Confirming the incident, the state Police spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar said one Ummu-Salam Umar; has been arrested in connection with the crime.
"At about 1.15pm, the Vice Principal of FGGC, Malali, Mrs. Obianwuzia reported at the station that ‎the corpse of a new born baby suspected to have been delivered by a student wrapped in a white cloth was thrown over the school fence. The corpse of the baby was left dangling on the school fence until the police came and removed it. After taking picture of the scene, it has been deposited at the mortuary."
He said further investigation has commenced into the matter.

41-year old King Akpanke pictured above, has been arrested by officers of the Cross Rivers state police command for murdering his step-mother's lover. King who was paraded before newsmen at the state police command headquarters in Calabar today February 10th, said he had on several occasions warned the deceased from coming to his late father's house to have sexual intercourse with his step-mother.


"On that fateful day when we fought, he came to my house around 9 o'clock, he abused me and nobody was there in the house. The house belongs to my late father and I am the third son of my father. I was the only person in the house so when he started abusing me we fought, he brought a stick to hit me but I went inside and brought a knife and stabbed him on the head. So it was later discovered that he is dead. I am very sorry because it was a mistake. The young man was having constant sexual intercourse with my late father's wife. I warned him several times to stay off the house which belongs to my father but he refused he always comes there to have sex with her. He has been calling me all sorts of names like armed robber. He had always planned to kill me"‎he said

She posted the video alongside the hashtags #YourHeadHereHomeboy and #RooshTheDouche in an apparent attempt to scare 'pro-rape' blogger Daryush 'Roosh' Valizadeh who planned to visit Australia. The video received more than 15,000 comments, with many making cruel or sexual remarks about Kortney's physique.
Kortney addressed the negativity in a Facebook post on Wednesday. 'Apparently my video has attracted a bunch of insecure, jealous little boys,' she wrote. 'So I can answer all of your messages at one time: YES! I'm married to a man. NO! I'm not a lesbian. 'NO! testosterone has some non-reversible side effects I'm not prepared to deal with. 'NO! I'm not competing in physique again, it was a massive waste of time and money. 'And finally, YES! I'd love to change the world with you by empowering more women to BE AND DO WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT TO.'

PHCN official trying to rescue his colleague also electrocuted (photos)

Yes, unfortunately both men died according to a LIB source at the scene who sent in the pics. The first one climbed the pole to fix the light and got electrocuted (read here). And his colleague climbed up to see if he could bring the dead man down, but he was also electrocuted. How unfortunate!

Acting chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, says Nigeria is in dire need of its party, PDP. Secondus said this today at an Interdenominational thanksgiving service in Akwa Ibom state over the victory of the Akwa Ibom state governor, Emmanuel Udom at the Supreme Court.
"Nigeria is in dire need of PDP, you can see the difference. Eight months ago, the exchange rate was N160, today it is N313. Eight months ago, vessels of goods and services were competing to enter into our harbor. Today, none.
The economy is sliding; it is getting to a point of collapse. The political situation of the country is in coma and we challenge the APC-led government that it is time to realize that they need the people more than they need the guns because we are not military. We dedicate today to God to the strength that he has given PDP. PDP will come back with strength and we warn the APC led government that Nigeria should not be a police state where people are harassed and stake holders are being intimidated." Also speaking at the occassion was the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose who said if members of PDP work together, they will get back their inheritance "If we put our house together, if we stay together, if we put the past behind us, we will take back our inheritance, it is our inheritance taken by deception, taken by propaganda, taken by hidden agenda," he said.
