Choi! Jamie Foxx clowns Will Smith's Oscar snub...lol

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 01:27 PM PST

Aren't Jamie Foxx and Will Smith friends? The Oscar winning actor clowned the Oscar nominated actor who was shut out of the nominations for Best Actor at the 2016 Academy Awards, causing his wife Jada Pinkett Smith to launch a boycott of the awards.

Sharing his opinion about the #OscarsSoWhite boycott, at the American Black Film Festival on Sunday, Jamie, who won an Oscar in 2004 for his portrayal of Ray Charles, told black actors to act better and kinda took a dig at Will Smith. He said;

"All these Oscar talks, I don't even trip about that."
"I mean, what's the big deal? I was sitting at home with my Oscar, like 'What's all the hubbub?'"
"Me and Denzel were like, 'Hashtag "what's the big deal?" Hashtag "act better.""

Keyamo slams Senate on warrant of arrest against former EFCC boss, Lamorde

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 12:12 PM PST

Read the press statement below...
"It has been brought to our attention through several publications in both the online and mainstream media that the Nigerian Senate has directed its Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee"), to issue a Warrant of Arrest against our client, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, for failing to appear before it.
We respectfully urge the Inspector General of Police and other law enforcement agencies to disregard any such Warrant of Arrest (if issued) and resist the invitation to drag themselves into this illegal scheme. To set the records straight, the antecedents of this matter are briefly reproduced hereunder.

Pursuant to a petition written by one George Uboh against our client, the Senate referred the petition to the Committee for investigation. In the course of the investigation, the Committee wrote a letter of invitation to our client as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), inviting him to a meeting with the Committee on 5th November, 2015.

Owing to prior engagements, our client could not attend that meeting and this was duly communicated to the Committee. However, on the 9th of November, 2015, our client was relieved of his duties as the Chairman of the EFCC and he handed over all obligations, duties and responsibilities pertaining to his office to Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, who was appointed Acting Chairman.

Despite the fact that our client had handed over to the Acting Chairman, another letter of invitation was sent to him on 11th November, 2015 inviting him for a meeting with the Committee on 17th November, 2015. Our client could not honour that invitation as he was out of the country on his 3-month terminal leave. However, on the said 11th November, 2015, we appeared before the Committee to represent our client and raised objections to the conduct of the investigations by the Committee on two grounds.

First, the Constitution stipulates that the Committee can compel the attendance of a witness by issuing a proper SUMMONS and not an INVITATION LETTER. In the circumstances, it was contended that our client had not been summoned at all. In addition, section 88 of the 1999 Constitution stipulates that only a person presently occupying a public office can be investigated by the Senate in relation to that office and since at the time of this invitation, our client had vacated the office, he could no longer be made the subject of any investigation by the Senate. We contended that, however, any Nigerian can be summoned by the Senate as a WITNESSin any matter. Despite these cogent objections, the Committee denied us audience and threatened to have our client arrested.

As a law abiding citizen, our client instructed us to institute an action at the Federal High Court seeking an interpretation of the powers of the Senate with respect to investigations. In compliance with our client's instructions, we instituted the said suit with number FHC/ABJ/CS/934/15 on 19th November, 2015 at the Federal High Court and it was assigned to Honourable Justice G.O. Kolawole sitting at Federal High Court 8, Abuja. Both the Senate and the Committee were served with the Originating Summons and a Motion seeking an Interlocutory Injunction restraining the Senate from continuing with their investigations pending the determination of the suit. The processes were served on them on 20thNovember, 2015, but since then, they have refused, ignored and failed to file any process in defence of the suit.

The suit came up before Justice G.O. Kolawole for hearing on the 9th December, 2015 and 10thFebruary, 2016 and on both occasions, hearing Notices were served on the Senate and the Committee but on both occasions, they were absent and unrepresented by legal practitioners. At the proceedings of 10th February, 2016, the application for Interlocutory injunction was heard but in its wisdom, the Honourable court decided to give both the Senate and the Senate Committee another chance to come and answer to our client's suit and the suit was subsequently adjourned till 14th March, 2016 for the Senate to respond to our client's case.

As a law-abiding Police Force, you are aware that one of the Pillars of our democracy is the respect for the Rule of Law. By extension, this implies that when matters are pending before a court of law, all parties are expected to maintain status quo pending the determination of the matter. In any event, the Senate Standing Rules are clear to the effect that matters pending before a court of law should not be deliberated upon or discussed on the floor of the Senate or any of its Committees. This is the reason why our client's case is clearly different from the case of other citizens against whom Warrants of Arrest have been issued by competent courts of law. Whilst there is no restriction on the powers of a court of law to issue a Warrant of Arrest against anybody who fails to honour its Summons, the Senate's own rules forbid it to do anything in respect of matters that are pending in a court of law.

The conducts of the Senate and the Committee amount to legislative rascality as they seek to usurp the powers of the judiciary and to undermine its authority.  We most respectfully urge the Nigeria Police Force to await the outcome of the matter pending in court before deciding one way or the other about the enforcement of the said Warrant of Arrest, if eventually issued.

If the court decides otherwise against our position, our client is prepared to appear before the Senate or any of its Committees.
We issue this statement on behalf of and on the instruction of our client, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde.
Thank you.
FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

Adam Johnson's girlfriend breaks up with him and tells court he cheated on her with other women

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 08:55 AM PST

Footballer Adam Johnson's world seems to be crashing gradually everyday as his girlfriend and mother of his child Stacey Flounders has not only broken up with him but also admitted at his child sex trial in court today that the England footballer cheated on her with other women.

Stacey, has stood by the side of the player all through his child sex scandal and even when he admitted to two charges of kissing and grooming a 15 year old girl, she was still giving him moral support by accompanying him to his court proceedings.

While weeping in court today she revealed that they had broken up, but she will still remain friends with him.

She described how he had told her everything about kissing a 15-year-old girl when he returned home after police questioning.
Asked if he talked about other things during their discussion, she said:
'The other women that he cheated on me with.'

When asked by defense counsel Orlando Pownall QC, if Johnson named the women he cheated on her with, she said;
 'Just one. He wouldn't tell me the other names.'
When asked how many there were, she said: 'Quite a few.'
Miss Flounders told the jury she had initially stuck by Johnson after his arrest because he was telling her the truth and being honest with her.

'Because he was honest with me and I knew he was telling the truth,' she replied. 'We'd just had a daughter. I wanted us to be a family.'
In a further question about their relationship, the defense counsel asked: 'Do you see any future in the relationship that you had?'.
Stacey replied: 'Do you mean now? Not at the minute I don't, no.
'We're just going to remain friends.'
But when cross-examined by prosecutor Kate Blackwell QC, Miss Flounders said Johnson admitted his infidelities when he returned from the police station and she quizzed him about meeting with the girl.
Blackwell also asked her if during the quizzing ,Johnson also gave her other details like he kissed the young girl passionately for two minutes, sent her a message telling her he wanted to rip her jeans off, whether he caressed her ,set up a private snapchat account and asked her for her naked pictures, to which Stacey quietly answered 'No!

After he returned from the police station after being questionned, Miss Flounders said she told her partner he was 'stupid' and asked why he did it.
'He was actually in shock and he realised what he did. He just said he was being stupid,' she told the court.
Mr Pownall asked Miss Flounders: 'Did he ever deny that he kissed passionately a girl under the age of 16?'. She replied: 'No, he never denied it.'

The teenage girl involved in the case told the court that as at when she was giving the player oral sex , his pubic area was shaved, so a photo of Johnson's penis obtained from the girl's phone was shown to Stacey,  which she said she couldn't recognise, because she had never seen the player shave his pubic area before.
Adam Johnson denies two more serious allegations of sexual activity with a child.
The trial continues.

Glo likely to drop P-Square, Sammy Okposo & Burna Boy as ambassadors

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 08:52 AM PST

According to inside sources who spoke with LIB, P-Square's Glo ambassadorship may likely not be renewed after their contract ends in a few months time. They may be dropped alongside Sammy Okposo and Burna Boy. According to the inside source;
"Their names have definitely been penciled to be dropped by Globacom after feedback from management but the chairman can change his mind anytime. But right now, it doesn't look like they will be renewing their contracts with these artists when it expires"
Asked why P-Square, who recently received cars from the telecoms giant, and Peter, who got sponsorship for his dance reality show would be dropped, the source said;

"Two reasons. One was the way Peter handled The Dance With Peter show. He didn't handle it well. He insisted on things that were not part of the contract with Glo. He brought in Akon and made a lot of demands. He held up recording of the finale for hours and everybody from Glo left. That, I think counted against him. 2nd is his fight with his brothers. The company is not sure if they will remain P-Square so right now they are not planning to renew their contract"

Asked why Glo is planning not to renew their contract with Burna Boy, the source said;
"That has to do with his public conduct"

And Sammy Okposo?
"Sammy is more about public relevance. He's been with Glo for a long time, they are looking for new faces"

Steve Harvey dragged over advice he gave to a woman who said her BF had sex with her while she was sleeping

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 08:40 AM PST

The letter ...
Good Morning Shirley & Steve!
I'm a 23-year-old working woman who is madly in love with her 27-year-old working man with whom I've been with for over three years.
One day, I went out with my friends and I drunk more alcohol than I was suppose to. Once I came home, I started to get sick and passed out. In the middle of the night, my boyfriend woke me up and told me to clean myself up. Confused, I asked him why. He says because we just had sex. Of course, I had no knowledge of it because I passed out because of the late night drinking.
The next morning, I asked what happened the night before. He says that he came home, saw me in bed and wanted to have sex. He said I didn't move or talk but just thought I was really tired. (Even though there was a tall trashcan right beside the bed and apparently my head was halfway in it). Would you consider this a sexual assault? How can I tell him without hurting him, or scaring him to think that I'm labeling him as a "rapist."
Steve's advice:
"This is kinda a tough one for a man to answer because we've all done this. Tried it anyway. All of us. I done actually tried to Army climb from up from under the bed trying to get to it...We've all tried it. It's called the sneak-attack...
Y'all live together. He told you what he did. He woke you up to make sure you got cleaned up. He told you what he did. A person who did something that they think is really wrong is usually in denial about it. Did he rape you in my estimation - NO. Because you all have had [sex]."

I'll like to be a Hollywood actor when I retire from football - Cristiano Ronaldo

Posted: 25 Feb 2016 07:59 AM PST

Number one sports brand in the world Cristiano Ronaldo says he will like to go to Hollywood when he retires from football. In a recent interview, Cristiano, who turned 31 this month, said that he would be happy to begin with small roles and work to acquire acting skills, learning from professional actors
"I would not be a lead (actor), no," he said. "I would do small roles. I like to learn, to be surrounded by good actors, but that is the only way you learn. It is an area we do not know much about, it has nothing to do with football, but I believe with some training I could make it there," he said.
"I am sure that sooner or later I will be in a cast for a film, no doubt. But to play a small role to start, to pick up experience. Then to shine more in the future. I have the chance, thanks to God, to choose only what I like. I love the world of fashion, so it's not strange I have my own line of shirts, boxer-shorts, perfume, headphones, and more things will come out soon. The Real Madrid superstar expressed delight at the growth of his CR7 brand and many other projects. I am happy as these projects are growing more and more. After football, I now have an idea what will do. Maybe my brand will keep growing in different areas shoes, trousers, films etcetera."
