| National Youth Council Honours Prince Odi Okojie Posted: 22 Feb 2016 01:21 PM PST  The National Youth Council (Edo State Chapter)conferred on Prince OdiOkojie (the husband of the popular Nollywood actress- Mercy Johnson Okojie) the title of a patron and a friend of the youth over the week, in recognition of his personal efforts at empowering the youths for self-subsistence and for identifying with the youths of the state.  Received by a teaming crowd of youths led by the deputy chairman of the National Youth Council at the state secretariat, The Prince (as he is popularly known) was conducted round the facilities at the secretariat which includes: a media training center, computer training center, catering training center, etc. He was then led into the office of the state chairman, Comrade Innocent Ajayi who was waiting for him with members of his exco. In his welcoming address, Comrade Innocent Ajayi thanked Prince Odi Okojie for championing the course of the youth and for becoming the face of the youth. He noted that the lack of a vibrant figure for the youth had led in the past to men in their late 40s and 50s been made to represent the youth. He emphasized that he had told all who care to listen that the youth will no longer take the back stage in the affairs of this state.    On his part, Prince OdiOkojie in his acceptance speech reminded his host that the task of building a better tomorrow that fulfills the aspirations of the youth begins today. The youths he said must stop looking for somebody else to solve their problem because as the saying goes, "dey no dey eat Panando for another man headache". He thanked the National Youth Council for their effort in building a better Edo state and advised them to be ready to build a synergy with other youth organizations in Edo because only through synergy will their vision for the state be realized. He ended with a personal promise to channel his numerous youth empowerment programs and that of his wife through the National Youth Council umbrella body. | Banky W, Cobhams thrill guests at MTN Foundation MUSON Alumni Valentine Concert Posted: 22 Feb 2016 12:52 PM PST  There was also a surprise performance by two MTN ambassadors – Cobhams Asuquo and Banky W. Cobhams wowed the audience with two beautiful songs he titled, Ugly Bug Love, and New Beginning, and his version of All of you by John Legend, while the music connoisseur and R&B King, Banky W performed his popular song Be My Lover. Speaking at the pre valentine concert, the Executive Secretary of MTNF Foundation, Nonny Ugboma, explained that MTNF deemed it necessary to take the bull by the horn and support the valentine concert for the first time since its inception. She emphasised that MTN Foundation will continue to set the pace and make it a tradition to sponsor the concert annually, knowing that the sky is the beginning for the musical scholars of MUSON. Director of the MUSON School of Music, Mrs. Marion Akpata described the show as one that displays the true meaning of love as love goes beyond chocolates, cupcakes and flowers. She described the concert as one that could be compared to any concert outside the country. She praised the ingenuity of the music artistes for maintaining the high standard of the school, adding that the ultimate goal of the school was to bring back good music to the society. MTN Foundation since its inception in 2006, has sponsored over 200 students who has a flair for music, to acquire a MUSON diploma in music as part of the Foundation's sustainability effort in grooming musical talents in Nigeria. | The shocking way Nepalese children risk their lives using a cable to cross a river Posted: 22 Feb 2016 12:36 PM PST  Children in Dhaing Village, Nepal have to pull themselves across this terrifying cable bridge every day in order to get themselves to and from class. Not only children but also adults who have no choice. It is a lifeline for the residents, who face danger every day in order to go shopping for basic amenities or meet friends and family who live on the other side of the Trishuli River. The villagers have to sit in either a basic loop of fabric or a small ramshackle wooden crate and operate the flimsy cable by hand. Crossers have lost fingers operating these cables, while in 2010, five people fell into the Trishuli River after a cable snapped & passed away. Nepal's Prime Minister KP Oli recently announced a plan to replace the dangerous cable crossings with suspension bridges in the surrounding area but in the meantime Dhaing residents have no choice but to continue transportating themselves using these ropes.       |

| Mayor accidentally shares screenshot of porn sites he visited Posted: 22 Feb 2016 12:00 PM PST  Mayor Thomas Koppl of Quickborn, Germany, posted a screengrab of the German constitution to back up arguments he was making about the Alternative for Germany party, he was probably too excited making his point he missed glaring 'errors' in the picture.  The screen grab he posted included tabs of porn sites he had visited which include, 'Punishment Porn Videos', 'BDSM porno videos', 'German slut punished', 'HAMSTERS Gratis porn'. As is characteristic of politicians, he initially denied taking the pic saying someone else had taken the screenshot but eventually admitted that it was in fact him. Köppl claims he first heard about BDSM when overhearing a conversation on a ski-lift in South Tyrol, where he is currently on holiday, and was simply researching it. 'I wasn't so up-to-date about that, which annoys me. They were mentioning the site 'Xhamster', and when I got to my room I wanted to get clued-up.' But he claims the fetish is not for him, adding: 'I'm sure people who like it can have a lot of fun with BDSM. I find it rather disturbing. I have a problem with violence in general.' One internet user however seemed to support him saying, 'Any man who claims never to have visited a porn site is a liar or has a problem with his sexuality.' |

Reacting to allegations that he is a sponsor of the Insurgency group, Boko Haram, Sheriff said "Boko Haram killed my own brother. They killed members of my family, so why should I sponsor people to kill my own brother, my own family. I am not a fanatic. I love to enjoy my life. Boko Haram are criminals who live in the bush and eat once a day. I believe their sponsors will be caught at the end of the day. I have nothing to do with Boko Haram," he said. He singled out a former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, among the people linking him with the terror sect, saying "this time around, people like Fani-Kayode will not go scot free." |

| Photos: Nigerian student and two other African students die in a fatal crash Posted: 22 Feb 2016 11:33 AM PST   Deangelo R. Evans is facing charges in connection with the crash. The 26-year-old from Chicago, was charged with three counts of operating while intoxicated causing death, one count of OWI resulting in serious bodily injury, and three counts of reckless homicide. The crash happened shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 253. According to the Grant County Sheriff's Department, it appears that the students' van was stopped in the median with a flat tire. Seven people were standing outside when another van that was headed north on I-69 left the road and went into the median, striking four of the students.   The victims, all international students have been identified as Nerad Grace Mangai from Jos, Nigeria, (find her photos above) Brook M. Dagnew and Kirubel Alemayehu Hailu, from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Israel Solomon Tamire was taken by helicopter to Parkview Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne and is listed in critical condition. Nebiyu Shiferaw Alemu, Amanuel Atsbha Gebreyohannes and Dagmawi Meseret Tadesse were not seriously hurt and have returned to campus. University officials say the students had been to Ball State and Taylor University prior to the accident.  A gathering was planned for Sunday night in Petersime Chapel at Manchester University for students, faculty and staff.  |

In the shot, she is seen modelling a lipstick, and the pic was posted to the Instagram page of international brand, MAC Cosmetics. The racist comments that follow is just vile. Aamito responded in graceful fashion and she had supporters too. One said: 'Holy n***** lips, Batman! What colour is this called?...Grape Drank?' In a long rant one user wrote: 'Black women will never be as beautiful as white women. The only argument blacks have is they have more melanin like that matters. 'Yes white women can get injections and when they do, they are basically flawless. You don't have any thing over them anymore and thats why you get so p***** off. Keep lying to yourselves thinking your dark asses look better. 'Dont even come at me with the "all white features were first started by blacks". Even if that was true, WHERE THEY AT THO? Keep projecting your jealousy on white women though, Id rather be a cracker with injections than look like the majority of you oily yet ashy at the same time people.
