Photo: Borno state Gov in tears as he declares 3-day fast for missing girls Posted: 10 May 2014 02:50 AM PDT Borno State governor Kashim Shettima was in tears yesterday as he appealed to indigenes of the state to embark on a 3-day fast for the missing Chibok girls. The proposed fasting, which will run from May12th - 14th, is to seek the face of God over the missing girls and for peace to return to the state. The Governor got very emotional while in a meeting with the Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA), Chibok, who came to protest the abduction of the missing girls. "We are calling on all Muslims and Christians to embark on a three-day fast to seek God's help toward rescuing our girls. All of us must fast because we worship the same God. There is no politics or religious issues in this matter because the abduction of the girls is something that should bother us all as parents, uncles and guardians" he saidThe governor also expressed shock that some individuals believe the kidnap never happened, and is all a scam "It is unthinkable for anyone to say such a story could be fabricated." He said |

Until his death, he was class representative, loved by lecturers and adored by students, this is according to his friends. They say Caesar had done UNIBEN Law Faculty proud in many competitions, a master of advocacy and an intellectual. He and some students had just returned from the US where they represented Nigeria at the Jessup Moot Court Competition in Washington DC, before he died. A procession was held for him yesterday at the University Campus. May his soul rest in peace, amen. Continue to see more photos... |
...This also didn't happen in Nigeria. + Are foreign troops in Nigeria? Posted: 10 May 2014 03:07 AM PDT Some of you may have seen this photo and similar ones on several online platforms, claiming its US troops capturing a Boko Haram member....erm, it's false. U.S Pentagon has stated there will be no American troops in Nigeria...at least for now. The team sent are experts to help with communications, logistics, and intelligence. The pic above going viral is French troops in Central African Republic in 2013. (See here). Also, you can see in all the pics floating online, from the uniforms, the African soldiers taking notes from American forces are from Uganda and Somalia. Military aid has been in Africa for sometime under AFRICOM to help train our military. Now to the second issue; are there foreign troops in Nigeria? There are reports this morning that the Special Forces of the US Marines have sited the abducted Chibok Girls in Sambisa Forest...this report is hard to believe because the Pentagon, the UK and France made it clear that they are only providing intelligence service (intel & surveillance technology) to work with the Nigerian military..for now! Also yesterday CNN said US intelligence made claims that the girls are not in a single location, so how come they've now been sited at Sambisa Forest? Even if US intelligence analysts were able to find the location, will they share the info with the media before the girls are rescued? So officially there are no foreign troops in Nigeria for now, except the foreign government is lying to the media about the kind of help they are providing and really sending troops. |

Chris Brown sentenced to 1 year in jail. To spend only 131 days Posted: 09 May 2014 03:51 PM PDT TMZ just reported this breaking news...Chris Brown was a few hours ago sentenced one year in jail for violating his probation in the Rihanna case during an appearance in court today. But thankfully he will only spend 131 days or less in jail for time already spent in jail. TMZ reports Chris Brown was in court Friday afternoon, where he admitted he violated his probation by getting into a fight with a dude in Washington D.C. That's all the judge needed to hear. He sentenced Chris to 1 year in jail. However, Chris got credit for 116 days he spent in rehab, and another 59 days behind bars. That leaves 131 days in the pokey. But we're told the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept has been releasing inmates sentenced to 1 year after 240 days. And here's the thing. Chris gets credit for 2 days for every 1 he served behind bars, so when you add it up, he has credit for 234 days -- 6 days shy. So he could be released in days. Continue ..The judge could have gone a lot harder -- 4 years in prison. But Chris got a break because the judge took into account he was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which could account for some of the violence. The judge also ordered Chris to attend therapy sessions with a shrink 2 times a week. And he must submit to random drug testing 3 times a week. Chris is not out of the legal woods ... his D.C. assault trial is set to start in the following months |

Do you find it difficult to control your increasing body weight even with your best efforts? Watch it! It is possible you just might be Leptin Resistant! Leptin is a hormone secreted by your fat cells. The job of this hormone is to send signals to your brain telling it that you are full and you need to stop eating so as to enable your body easily burn the energy it has accumulated in the form of fat. Continue... The more you gain weight, the more fat cells you have and the more leptin hormone your fat cells secrete. Leptin resistance occurs when the fat cells pump out more and more leptin hormone such that the brain gets so used to it and no more recognises the signalling message leptin hormone passes on to the brain. Once you become leptin resistant, weight loss becomes difficult. One major cause of leptin resistance is SUGAR which unfortunately forms a major constituent found in snacks, fizzy drinks and almost all staple meal of Nigerian and African origin. 'I no longer sleep with my two eyes closed' - President Jonathan Posted: 09 May 2014 02:11 PM PDT President Jonathan today revealed that since the abduction of the Chibok girls on April 14th, he does not sleep with his two eyes closed anymore. The president made this remark during the closing media conference of the just concluded World Economic Forum Africa today. What he said below...
Meanwhile an Amnesty International report released today, May 9th, states that the Nigerian military was notified of the Boko Haram attack four hours before they arrived the Government Girls Secondary School where they abducted the young girls. According to Makmid Kamara, the Nigeria researcher for Amnesty International, indigenes of Chibok community who spoke with Amnesty officials on the condition of anonymity said they had informed military personnel in the area around 7pm that evening of a pending attack by Boko Haram but no one mobilized for military backup until the Boko Haram men came calling at 11.45pm
"When I spoke to one of the senior military officials, they informed me that they [had] informed their superiors, and requested for reinforcement. But the reinforcement did not come." By the time the Boko Haram men came, only 17 soldiers were on ground and they could not withstand the emissaries the Islamic sect men came with. "Only 17 troops were there to face the attack and they were outgunned and outnumbered. They had to flee for their lives together with some other villagers who fled to the bush," Kamara said. |
The Dream's babymama releases pics of injuries she sustained from his attack Posted: 09 May 2014 01:52 PM PDT A few weeks ago, super producer The Dream's babymama Lydia Nam accused him of brutally assaulting her while she was pregnant 7 months ago. She claimed Dream punched, kicked, choked, dragged her by the hair, by the neck and strangled her during an arguement. He was arrested and booked on 2 felonies and 3 misdemeanors for assault, endangerment and child endangerment. Dream denied ever touching her, claiming that Lydia, who is Canadian, was just trying to extend her Visa by filing a bogus criminal case against him. Well, to prove she didn't lie, Lydia has produced receipts. She photographed her injuries immediately following the alleged attack and today she sent the pictures to TMZ . See more pics after the cut... The complaint also alleged that when Nam tried to call 911, he violently twisted her arm and said he would kill her "like O.J. Simpson killed Nicole Brown." Nam says she waited seven months to report the incident out of fear for her safety. The-Dream denies the whole thing. |

Genevieve Nnaji talks about missing Chibok Girls on CNN Posted: 09 May 2014 03:33 PM PDT Just watched Genevieve Nnaji on CNN a few minutes ago talking about the missing Chibok girls, and she was very articulate. Some of what she said below... "Everyone is involved .We are all mothers, we are all humans and these are young girls that have been taken to captivity. As celebrities, we thought it was our responsibility to shed light and bring to the forefront this inhumane act." "For me I think it will be unfair to say they (the federal govt) were slow to react because nobody knew whether they reacted or not. The thing is we we weren't told, we didn't know if they were aware of the situation or not. The major problem we had was the lack of communication. We just wanted them to react to us. Now we can see things being put in place, now we can see effort being made and that will be credited to the noise that's been made, the campaigning that's been made around the world. We are grateful for all the attention." Continue...CNN: Does she welcome foreign support? "This has been going on way too long and there's no shame asking for help and in taking it. The truth is, terrorism is not only our problem, it's not a continent problem, it's a global issue and we all have to come together to help it because at the end of the day this is a breach of human rights and it should concern each and everyone of us. |
