We know where Chibok girls are, but won't use force to rescue them - Military Posted: 26 May 2014 01:53 PM PDT Nigeria's Chief of Defense Staff Air Marshall Alex Badeh today said that the Nigeria military has been able to locate the 200+ girls abducted in Chibok on April 14th but will not use force to rescue them because that could put the girls in great danger as the insurgents could kill them. He revealed this today while addressing a group of protesters, the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness, outside the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He said the military knows what they are doing and should be allowed to continue their work "We want our girls back. The military can do it, but where they are held, can we go with force? The good news for the girls is that we know where they are but we can't tell you. Just leave us alone. We are working. We will bring the girls back" He said

But that's not what's happening in Solange's case, instead she's experiencing an increase in music sales. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the week after video footage leaked of Solange punching, kicking and spitting on her sister's husband, Jay Z, her digital music sales jumped 233%! The week prior to the fight footage becoming public, Solange's music sales hovered around 600 downloads but the week after the video leak, it surged to over 2000. Now it's nearing 3000 downloads You know what they say, no publicity is bad publicity. Look at Kim K for instance, she became an international superstar after a leaked sex video.

North Korean leader executes engineers behind collapsed building that killed 500 Posted: 26 May 2014 05:52 AM PDT According to two Chinese newspapers, North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un ordered the execution by firing squad of 4 design and construction engineers who built the 23-storey building that collapsed in the capital of Pyongyang on May 13th 2014 leading to the death of about 500 people. 92 families lived in the building as at the time it collapsed and most of the people killed were top intelligence and security officials. Kim Jong Un gave a rare public apology to North Koreans after the collapse occurred and ordered an inquiry. The four engineers were reportedly executed last week. The main cause of the building collapse remains unclear but shoddy construction is said to be a likely cause because onsite directors and workers often smuggle out steel and cement to sell in black market Kim Jong-Un has been reported to execute anyone who falls short of his expectations, including members of his own family. Killing engineers though? Who supports this?

Virgin killer Elliot Rodger's six victims' names and faces revealed Posted: 26 May 2014 04:53 AM PDT On Friday May 23rd, Elliot Rodger the son of Hollywood movie director, Peter Rodger went on a crazed shooting spree for being rejected by girls and being a virgin at age 22. (read the story here). All six of his victims have been named. They are (top row, from left to right) Katie Cooper, Chris Michael-Martinez, Veronica Weiss, (bottom row, from left to right) Weihan Wang, George Chen, and Cheng Yuan Hong, who shared same apartment with the killer. All were students at UCSB. A friend of Rodger's two roommates, Wang and Yuan Hong, revealed that they had been planning to move out of the apartment at the end of the semester because they felt uncomfortable living with Elliot and found him 'so strange.' All three were found with multiple stab wounds in Elliot's apartment in Isla Vista. After killing them, he took 3 handguns and went on a shooting spree, killing three more students before killing himself Meanwhile his parents yesterday said they had read his chilling manifesto he sent out hours before he embarked on the shooting spree and had been frantically trying to stop him when they heard of the massacre on the radio. Elliot had emailed a 140-page document to a few people including his parents and his therapist. His mum (pictured above) said she received the email around 9.17pm and immediately went on to his YouTube page where she found the newly uploaded video titled 'Retribution' which described his plan of 'slaughtering' women at a sorority house at the University of California at Santa Barbara. According to CNN, Mrs Rodger then alerted her estranged husband, Peter, and after he watched the video she called 911. The former couple then set off from LA to Santa Barbara to try find their son but they were too late, as they heard about the shooting en route. Later that night, their worst fears were confirmed when they were told their son was behind the massacre that left six victims dead and 13 injured.

Victim of Customs Officer's acid attack discharged from hospital Posted: 26 May 2014 02:32 AM PDT Tope Fadipe, the lady who was attacked with acid by a Nigerian Customs Officer in Badagry area has been discharged from the General Hospital in Badagry, Sahara Reporters reports. (Read here) Tope was admitted at the hospital on May 9th following the attack by Chief Superintendent of Customs F.C. Nwaeze, who accused her of failing to remit N50,000 in stock sales to his wife, an allegation Tope denied but was still punished for it. The acid caused the victim grievous bodily harm. Her attacker is currently being held at the Police State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti in Yaba, Lagos. Continue... Mr. Nwaeze reportedly got his boys at the Badagry Customs unit to torture her. Although she said they were two salespersons working for officer Nwaeze's wife, she said she was the only one tortured by the team Nwaeze assembled. The victim said the next she recalls was repeated blows and kicking on different parts of her body by the attackers. Ms.Fadipe, 22, said she was already unconscious in a drainage gutter when her mother arrived to save her. But then, she already was soaked in an unknown liquid substance poured on her during the beatings. She recounted that when she was taken home, she could not allow anyone pull her clothes because it was now stuck to her skin and was painful whenever anyone tried to pull them off. She then screamed out as her skin was peeling off. Her younger sister, Kemi Fadipe, who was in the hospital while the victim was being discharged told our correspondent that they noticed the liquid substance must have been a harmful chemical substance because of the manner her skin quickly disintegrated. However, Medical Director of the General Hospital, Dr Opeyemi Aihonsu suggested that the substance was diesel mixed with detergent. Writing the discharge note on Saturday, the doctor in charge of her treatment, Mr. Boson Bakare said she had healed up fast from the injury and would only require some follow ups to heal up completely. Although, he added, she may be left with permanent scars for the rest of her life. The doctors said since the report of her admission at the hospital made the news on the internet; the hospital had received countless visits both from the Nigerian Customs Service, the Nigerian Navy, Federal and State government officials as well as civil society organizations. On Friday, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Health led by Mr. Avoseh visited the victim with a promise to stand by her. Also, present at the formal discharge of the victim on Saturday was president of the Women Arise, Mrs. Joe Okei-Odumakin. She said it was fair enough that the attacker had been "made to eat the humble pie". She told the family that her organization was ready to take the issue up with the Nigerian Customs if the family has any further issue of threat or unfulfilled promises. She, however, insisted that the erring officer must be properly punished to send a strong signal to others who may be in the habit of using their position to oppress ordinary citizens. Saharareporters learned that there were many interventions with the family including traditional rulers and the Customs Comptroller General, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, making many promises which were documented for the victim. Although the family pleaded not to disclose the compensations, with which they said they are absolutely satisfied, the victim, Ms. Fadipe told our correspondent that the package included a promise of scholarship to study abroad. It was also learned from another family source that there is a promise to open a provisions store for the victim, in addition to an undisclosed amount in cash promise. "I am satisfied with all the promises", the victim said on Saturday. Her skin, which had been burnt significantly during the attack had healed significantly. Meanwhile, the Comproller General of the Nigerian Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde has promised to ensure justice is done in the case of Mr. Nwaeze. Mr. Dikko has threatened to suspend or dismiss Nwaeze depending on findings of their internal investigations. Mr. Nwaeze is currently being detained at the Police State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti in Yaba, Lagos according to the Customs boss. Source: Sahara Reporters |
