Plateau governor berates #BringBackOurGirls Abuja protesters

Plateau state Governor, Jonah Jang today berated the Abuja #bringbackourgirls protesters who marched to the Presidential villa yesterday May 22nd to demand the release of the Chibok girls. The Governor was inspecting the site of Tuesday's bomb blast in Jos when he discredited the protesters
"How can a group of people just wake up and begin to protest to the villa; demanding Mr. President to go to the forest and bring back those girls? Why don't they go to the forest where the girls are?" Jang said

Will, Jada & Willow Smith questioned by Child Protective Services

There were reports last week that Will and Jada Smith were being investigated by the Department of Family and Children Services after pictures of their 13-year-old daughter Willow Smith lying in bed with half naked 20-year-old actor Moisés Arias surfaced online.

Willow has been question twice by DFACS. From Radar Online;
"Willow was questioned on two separate occasions by social workers from Child Protective Services," the source said. "Once in the presence of her parents, and the second time, Willow was alone with the social workers."
The source continued, "This is how all investigations are handled. Both Will and Jada have also been questioned. At this point, the investigation remains open, and won't be closed for at least another few weeks."
"Will and Jada have been extremely cooperative with officials," according to the source. "Of course, they aren't happy that their parenting skills are under scrutiny, but they understand."

Boko Haram men kill 34 in fresh attacks on 3 villages in Borno state

According to Sahara Reporters, Boko Haram men, yesterday May 22nd, launched fresh attacks on 3 villages in Borno state killing 34 people. Kerenuwa village in Marte, Kimba in Biu and Kukumba in Chibok were all attacked. These are the same communities that have been in the news since the abduction of over 200 girls in a secondary school in Chibok.

President Jonathan signs 2014 budget

The 2014 budget has been signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan. The president signed the budget into law this morning, May 23rd, after the statutory process of legislative scrutiny was completed.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, and the DG of the Budget Office are expected to address the press later today on the budget signing.

Ugandan President mocks Pres. Jonathan for accepting international assistance

He actually made an ignorant statement (my opinion). While speaking at a campaign rally yesterday, Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni mocked President Jonathan for accepting foreign assistance to help fight Boko Haram. The former guerrila fighter said he'd rather commit suicide than ask the international community to protect his people against terrorists
"I have never called the United Nations to guard us. Me, Yoweri Museveni to say that I have failed to protect my people and I call on the UN: I would rather hang myself. We prioritized national security by developing a strong Army, otherwise our Uganda would be like DRC, South Sudan, Somalia or Nigeria where militias have disappeared with school children.
"It would be a vote of no confidence in our country and citizens if we cannot guarantee our security. What kind of persons would we be?" He said

UN blacklists Boko Haram

The United Nation Security Council committee yesterday May 22nd blacklisted Islamic sect Boko haram after the Nigerian government on Wednesday May 21st made a request asking for the sect to be blacklisted.
 
A statement released by the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power says the move was to help close all avenue of funding received by Boko Haram members
"Today, the Security Council took an important step in support of the government of Nigeria's efforts to defeat Boko Haram and hold its murderous leadership accountable for atrocities. By adding Boko Haram to the U.N.'s 1267 (al Qaeda) sanctions list, the Security Council has helped to close off important avenues of funding, travel and weapons to Boko Haram, and shown global unity against their savage actions,"
With this blacklisting, it makes it an offence for any country or individual to provide any form of support to Boko Haram. The group is now subject to an international asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo.

Nicki Minaj responds to a Forbes article claiming Iggy Azalea runs Hip Hop

Nicki Minaj has responded to a Forbes article published on May 19th titled "Hip Hop Is Run By a White, Blonde, Australian Woman.", describing rapper Izzy Azalea as the new princess of hip hop. The mag said while Minaj has been 'oddly quiet for months', Iggy's rise in the charts has been swift.

The comment made Nicki feel some type of way and when asked about it on Power 105′s The Breakfast Club yesterday, Nicki said;
"Listen. All Forbes needs to worry about is my finances and when I'm going to be selling Myx Fusions for $250 million. That's all they need to worry about. We rely on hip-hop connoisseurs and blogs for that kind of information. So we appreciate it, but no thank you."

BBA winner Karen Igho showed off a wedding ring last night on her instagram page but I thought she was just being her naughty usual self and didn't take it serious. But when she posted 2 more pics and wrote that she's off the market, it made me curious and I reached out to her publicist who confirmed that Karen is indeed married. Not engaged, but married.
"It didn't happen this month or last month, she just chose now to reveal it. Can't say much about it for now though" her publicist told me
What I am trying to find out now is, who the guy is, and when they got married. Big congrats to her!
