A college student and radio station intern named Mariela Sanchez (pictured right) is claiming that Khloe Kardashian's boo, French Montana, attempted to 'date rape' her when she tried to interview him a while back...

Here's what In Touch magazine is reporting;
Mariela Sanchez just wanted to interview French Montana for her YouTube channel. But the hard partying rapper - who's been dating Khloe Kardashian since February - had something else in mind when he invited the brunette onto his tour bus . . .
"He climbed on top of me and wouldn't get off," Mariella 23, tells In Touch. "I had to say 'stop' a few times. He tried to force himself on me." . . .

Photo: Bridge collapses in Ndi Ebe Abam, Abia State

The popular Igwu bridge linking Ndi Ebe Abam to other towns collapsed yesterday July 1st when a 25 tons tipper carrying gravel plied on it. Fortunately no life was lost but now the villagers say they have been cut off from other towns as a result of the collapsed bridge which served as the only motor-able road through which the indigenes used to connect with other towns.

They sent me the photo and asked that we appeal to the Arochukwu L.G.A. Chairman and Abia State government to come to their aid, saying people residing in the town have been adversely affected by this mishap.

They are appealing to the authorities concerned to help them rebuild the bridge in a modern form that will last longer than the former one which was made with irons and planks and maintained by the indigenes for many years. They also implored the government to help them construct the road which has been neglected for years.

According to a post on the Facebook wall of the National Orientation Agency Nigeria, an accomplice and informant of terror sect, Boko Haram, Hafsat Bako, pictured above, has been arrested. Details of her arrest are still sketchy but will bring an update later.

Senate confirms Shekarau, Adeyeye, others as ministers

The Senate today July 2nd confirmed former Kano state Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau as Minister.

Also confirmed by the senate are Abu Bulama from Yobe State, Stephen Oru from Delta State who is the Deputy Vice-Chairman South South of the PDP and Adedayo Adeyeye from Ekiti State who is the Party leader in Ekiti state.

President Jonathan had on June 4th forwarded their names to the Senate for confirmation as ministers. The new ministers would now be sworn-in by the president and positions assigned to them.

'Boko Haram mess was created by Tinubu's friends' - Obanikoro

Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro today tweeted that the Boko Haram mess we are dealing with today was created by friends of former Lagos state Governor and leader of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he said had promised to make Nigeria ungovernable for this government.

The minister also addressed earlier comments made on today's Punch newspaper credited to the APC Leader where he, Tinubu, accused Obanikoro of getting more involved in politics than in his duties as a serving minister. Continue to see more tweets...

Beyonce fuels Jay Z cheating rumours by changing lyrics to songs

Since the elevator attack incident, there have been rumours that Beyonce and Jay Z are having marital problems, with Jay Z being accused of cheating on Queen Bey.

Beyonce, over the weekend, fueled those cheating rumors by changing the lyrics to songs during their show in Ohio on Saturday...almost like she was done pretending that everything was perfect between them.

During her performance of Resentment, a song about a partner who cheats, Bey, who wore a wedding gown, changed the lyrics. Below are the lyrics Beyonce was supposed to sing:
I'll always remember feeling like I was no good / Like I couldn't do it for you like your mistress could Been ridin' with you for six years... I gotta look at her in her eyes and see she's had half of me.

Redefining Nollywood Make-up

Professional makeup and beauty expert Vanessa Odofin has said that make up in Nollywood movies do not portray the characters suitably enough for the role they are playing. The makeup artists in the industry need to be professionally trained in order to step up their game.

The Nigerian-based make up and beauty expert who has trained over one thousand makeup artists in Nigeria and abroad, believes that a little more professionalism would go a long way in upgrading the standard of our makeup artists and in turn the project that they work on, to bring about a revolution in the Nigerian Film industry. According to Vanessa Odofin "It is the job of a makeup artist to convey believability for instance in the transition of a teenager to an adult in a movie without changing the character and this is one area I believe our Nollywood practitioners can do better than what is obtainable right now, though there are some exceptions to the rule. We want to take makeup artistry to the next level, there is a lot to be achieved in the makeup industry and we want to redefine makeup."

Her outfit Vanadale is organizing a training for makeup artists, upcoming makeup artists and all those who want to acquire expertise for personal use. The office is located at Ikeja in Lagos. The workshop will be coming up on the 5thto 19th of July. She said that the training is not just for Nollywood practitioners alone; individuals who want to know about makeup and those who want to turn makeup artistry into a full time job are also welcomed.

The training session would feature unique course outlines, free start up tools and professional brush sets, work tools and t-shirts, a syndicate session tagged "show me the cash (to outline how to make it in make-up industry)."

Beatfm Programmes Director and popular On-Air-Personality Olisa Adibua has also slammed singer turned writer Etcetera for criticizing radio personalities (read here)

Speaking with NigezieTV's Extra, Adibua said;
"Etcetera is a nobody. He's a failed artist. I can not comment on anybody who is a nobody. I hate the fact that Nigerians pick on people who are nothing. He's a nobody so no one should take him seriously. What has he done? Who is he? Etcetera, shut up! If you want to get recognition, bring out a song. I'm not against any idiots who don't have any talents. If you want to make a statement, make a statement with a record. If you want to say something, say it in a creative manner, in a constructive manner."

We are solicitors to Madam Esther Ebiere Gbonkumor and the entire Awin Family. They have briefed us as follows:
That on 7th June, 2014, their son, Mr. Christopher Onoriode Akpomowei Awin, a 31-year old Nigerian citizen, was invited to a picnic by the Ijaw Students' Association of the University of Abuja as part of the celebration of their cultural week. That picnic held at Agura Hotels in Abuja. We were informed that sometime at about 4:00pm, the picnic came to an end and all the members of the Association left for the University of Abuja Campus and their various residences in Gwagwalada, Abuja. However, Mr. Christopher Awin stayed behind for some swimming exercise. Continue...
The deceased Christopher pictured above with his mum, who is the sister to the First Lady.
However, in a most bizarre twist of events, Mr. Christopher Awin was found drowned to death in the swimming pool of Agura Hotels at about 6:00pm later that day and officers of the Garki Division of the Nigerian Police were called in. A post mortem has been carried out by a certified consultant pathologist who confirmed that his death was as a result of drowning and further added that if the victim had received help within five minutes of being submerged, he would have survived.
Our enquiries have shown that there were two life guards on duty at the pool who curiously left their duty post on flimsy excuses. Further enquiries also revealed that there was a busy Bar beside the swimming pool. Inspite of the expected attendant staff presence, the body of the victim was not found until over one hour after he had drowned.
The queries that arise from the foregoing set of facts are as follows:

1.  Why did the life guards charged with the sensitive responsibility of safe guarding guests abandon their duty post for so long?
2.  Why would the Agura Hotels leave a guest in a public swimming pool unattended to for so long?
3.  Was there no bartender at the Bar adjoining the swimming pool for so long a time?
4.  Why did the Police hasten to reopen the swimming pool (as a crime scene) that was initially sealed for investigations?
5.  Why has no member of staff of the Agura Hotels as well as the Agura Hotels been charged for culpable homicide till date?

We are respectfully inviting you to employ your good offices in ordering a full Coroner's Inquest for the purpose of resolving the foregoing queries and charge all those found culpable to court.
We repose confidence in your good offices and thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Police building collapses in Lagos

A 2-storey building which served at the toilet, bathroom and kitchen extension of a residential house inside the Pedro Police Barracks, Somolu Lagos on Monday June 30th collapsed around 8pm. Fortunately there was no casualty. 
 
The building, said to be in a very weak and dilapidated state caved in when most of the residents were reported to have been in their living rooms.

Yesterday July 1st, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, were at the scene of the incident to evacuate the occupants of the building while police officers from the Pedro police station, cordoned off the area. (Pic credit: Punch)

Music superstars dazzle Lagos fans at MTN Project Fame concert

Brilliant! Exceptional! Incredible! Those were the words fun seekers used to describe the Project Fame All Star Concert that took place at the LTV Blue Roof Arena, in Lagos, over the weekend. In what will go down as one of the most exhilarating and exciting concert witnessed in recent times, fans came out en masse to party with their favourite superstars and MTN ambassadors. Continue..



Timaya posted one of his best performances so far; Chidinma Ekile dazzled the audience, Banky. W rocked, Oritse Femi tickled, Praiz elated; The Mavins made their presence felt, Kcee mesmerised and Olawale Ojo, winner of Project Fame 6, thrilled his fans. The crowd stood up for great showmanship and applauded the extraordinary giftedness of the artistes that graced the All-Stars stage.

Every moment was electrifying. All the artistes were exceptional. Choruses like 'Surelere', 'Ukwu', 'When I Become Rich and Famous', 'Is Nothing', 'Kedike' and a lot more reverberated down the winding Agidingbi lane and echoed across the serene centre of excellence.

There was a moment of ingenuity when Larry Annetts, the out-going Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, enlivened the audience by his perfect rendition of Kcee's 'Limpopo'. The marketing chief soon became the focal point as the spot-light picked him up and showed he was actually singing not miming the song. Many said if the marketing guru could learn and understand not just the tune of the song but its lyrics, then he must represent a brand that is passionate about its customers.

There was sheer brilliance in other performances. For instance Seriki's lyrics were alluring. He held the audience spell- bound with his tight rhymes and street vibes. He generated instant love, especially among the teeming young people who reechoed every line of his Yoruba rap.

The climax of all the performances was the moment Timaya rendered his 'Ukwu' song and invited a lady who many felt the title perfectly addressed.

Speaking to some of the participants, they unanimously expressed their satisfaction with every performance at the show.

One Salami Odumosu said 'it was one of my best nights'. Another participant called Ken, a student, quipped, 'because this is the first time I'm seeing Timaya perform, it is actually fun'.
There were lots of positive comments, commendations and testimonies from participants. This is a good omen for the season 7 of the MTN Project Fame musical reality show, which starts on July 19, 2014.

Handsome felon, Jeremy Meeks, lands modeling contract

30 year old Jeremy Meeks, the gorgeous felon who became an internet sensation after his mug-shot was posted on the Stockton police Facebook page, has secured an gent who is negotiating modeling contracts for him even though he is still in jail in California facing a felony weapons charge.

Popular Hollywood agent, Gina Rodriguez, has signed Jeremy as a client and he joins her other notorious celeb clients including Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham, Donald Sterling's former mistress V. Stiviano and 'Octomom' Nadya Suleman.
"Jeremy has an amazing look and has received international attention which I feel can only help him flourish in the entertainment industry. He could make somewhere between $3,000 to $100,000 per month through endorsements and modeling. We're also speaking with several production companies about following Jeremy's foray into the entertainment industry. I believe this can be a positive change for Jeremy and his family" Rodriguez told ABC News.
Meeks, who is being held on 11 felony counts that include street gang membership and possession of firearms, remains behind bars on $1.1 million bail. I hope he gets a second chance.

Dino Melaye's pregnant new wife packs out of their home..

According to family sources, Dino Melaye's new wife, the one he introduced to us (see here) just a few months after his wife of 10 years, Tokunbo Melaye, moved out claiming domestic violence, has also moved out of the former rep member and activist's home.

Alero, who is said to be about five months pregnant moved out this morning, telling friends that Dino was also hitting her and she couldn't take it anymore. Her friends say she'd left the short marriage twice before but returned. But this time, it's final. The couple got married traditional in Dec. 2013.

One of Tokunobo Melaye's family members just tweeted about the new wife moving out.

We women never learn. If he hit an ex, he will hit you. If he cheats on an ex, he will cheat on you too. You're not more special than the other woman.

Photos/video: Kwara police uncovers ritualist den in Illorin

The Kwara state Police command yesterday July 1st uncovered a ritualist den at Eyekorin road in Illorin, the Kwara state capital following a tip-off. The police, led by the state Police Commissioner, Ambrose Aisabor, stormed an uncompleted building where a decomposing headless body, human parts and some murder weapons were found.

Speaking on the discovery, the Police Commissioner said the place is believed to have been a human parts market were people who are involved in ritual activities go to purchase human parts.
"When you get there you would see particles of human parts scattered so we believe that place has been a human parts market where people who are involved in rituals  and ritual activities go to purchase human parts" he said. Continue to see more photos and video...
No arrest has been made but according to the Commissioner, an 85 year old woman and other random people are being interrogated.

He sought for a continued Police - Public synergy between the Kwara state residents and the police so as to stamp out crime in the state.

I met Lola Omotayo Okoye a few days before her wedding, after a trial had been scheduled by her planners. It went very well and fast forward to the day. Lola looked so happy and demure and her wedding portrait has gone on to be one of my most loved images by people hence the idea to create this video.
