Sad video: 9 year old boy slaps the heck out of his mum after finding her high on heroine on the street

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 05:58 AM PDT

A 9 year boy who found his mum high on heroine on the street, slapped the shit out her in a shocking video that was posted on instagram. The distraught little boy can be heard screaming "mummy, wake up. Can you talk to me? Wake up" while the woman stares blankly at him, making him slap her again and again. Feel so sad for the child. With a mum like this, he's probably raising himself. He shouldn't have hit her like that but I can understand his frustration. See the very sad video after the cut.

Late PH doctor knew diplomat had Ebola Virus – Rivers State Govt

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 05:39 AM PDT

At a press conference on Friday evening August 29th, Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samson Parker, said that late Dr. Iyke Enemou, who treated ECOWAS diplomat Olu Koye (pictured above), was aware that Mr Koye had the Ebola Virus Disease.
"He had received the late Dr. Patrick Sawyer in Lagos. Upon developing the symptom, confided in a female colleague, called Lilian, who contacted the late Enemuo. It was after contact was established with Dr. Enemuo that Olu Koye flew to Port Harcourt to see him. To conceal his movement, Koye, who had been quarantined among other people for having primary contact with the late Dr. Sawyer, the Liberian-American who transmuted the Ebola virus into Nigeria, sneaked out of the isolation unit where he was being observed and took a flight to Port Harcourt and switched off his phone so that he could not be reached or traced should he answer a call." Continue...
When he got to Port Harcourt, he checked into Mandate Gardens Hotel in the Rumunokoro area in Obio/Akpor LGA which is close to Sam Steel Clinic where Dr. Enemuo worked.
"From what we have gathered so far, Dr. Enemuo, knowing that Koye was positive of the Ebola virus took some measures of precaution to protect himself while treating Koye.
"Knowing the enormity of what he was doing, Enemuo upon Koye's departure for Lagos, poured bleach all over the room that Koye slept in order to sanitise the place."
The commissioner revealed that Dr Enemuo, after falling ill, asked another doctor at Good Heart Hospital along Evo Road in G.R.A. to treat him, but at no point did Dr Enemuo tell his colleague that he may have contracted the Ebola virus, instead he lied that he had fever.
"He lied. He did not tell the doctor that was treating him his full story. But the doctor, a nice and conscientious professional, suspected that Enemuo was either hiding something or was suffering from a strange ailment because he proved negative to malaria, fever and typhoid fever.
"To be sure of what he was doing, he spoke to other very experienced doctors about the strange case he was handling in his hospital."
The commissioner said the doctor treating Enemuo even invited some other doctors to come over to his hospital to see if they could understand Enemuo's strange illness but no doctor came.

Dr. Enemuo's health deteriorated until he died on August 22nd after which his body was taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

Do you agree that Kim K and Beyonce have revolutionized our generation's view of what beautiful is?

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 05:24 AM PDT

Speaking with Access Hollywood last week, actress and singer Demi Lovato, 22, said Kim K and Beyoncé's famous curves have helped refine beauty and made a whole generation of women see it is not all about being skinny, making it easier for women these days to accept and embrace their full figures.
"When I was growing up and when I was a pre-teen, the people that I had to look up to for body image were extremely underweight. They were all very bony at that time and that was the in thing. But now I'm glad I have curves and role models to look up to that also have curvaceous physiques.
'I really credit women like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian, they completely revolutionized what our generation's view of perception of what beautiful is and I really think that they had a huge impact on that." Demi said. You agree?

Oyakhilomes divorce splits Christ Embassy members

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 04:50 AM PDT

Looks like members of Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy church are divided over his split from his wife Anita who filed for divorce a few months ago on the grounds of 'unreasonable behaviour' and 'adultery'. On a Facebook page called 'Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome,' some members are putting their pastors and church on blast...

Yesterday, one member wrote
"I am a Christ Embassy member. I hate one thing there: How can a pastor be working together with a lady hand in hand, attending meetings and lodging in a hotel for days. My girlfriend travels with our branch pastor annually for PPCF which holds in Lagos. Only God knows." Continue...

Another one wrote;
"Pastor Chris Oyakhilome must have been discovered compromising his marital bed business. It is what it is. God says judgement will start from His house. 'Touch not my anointed' is God's instruction regarding all His children, not an individual nicking, scheming, threatening monies off people's purses and telling them that salvation is tied to tithes and that seed sowing is only money donation to the church/pastor's coffers. One down, more to roll. Christ be praised."
Another member of the page wrote
" I and my family left Christ Embassy for our own good after worshiping there for three years plus and seeing all the things going on under the disguise of church. And I can comfortably say that for over a year now, we have had so much peace in our Christian lives. I don't care how you view my comment but truth must be told."

Joseph Osagiede, however, responded saying the Oyakhilomes were still together. He said,
"I have been in Christ Embassy for 12 years. All is totally well with thier marriage. All those wishing them to split and also those going about saying nasty things about the church, be careful." Faith Ebunoluwa Adetayo also said, "I have been in Christ Embassy since 1990s and I can authoritatively say some things: I have seen the power of God work, demonstrated in healings and many other things. I have seen how that Pastor Chris is less concerned about mistakes we make. "He believes that these sins of the flesh will disappear, only if we listen to the word of God. Rather than condemning us, he speaks words of encouragement. And for your information, Pastor Anita is still very much in the ministry and she's with her darling husband."
Meanwhile, the Christ Embassy has kept mum on the divorce case.

A woman, who picked Punch's call to the Nigerian office of the church on Saturday, said she had no information to give on the matter. When asked to confirm if the divorce suit was true or not, she simply said, "I have no information to give on the matter."

When another call was made to the church thorough another number, the respondent, who identified herself as Pastor Christabel, said the church had no information about the case. "No, we have no information on the matter," she said.

What Beats Care! See MTN Project Fame’s Uncommon Gesture

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 04:00 AM PDT

The sprawling gulf between the mentally and physically disabled and the rest of the society was incredibly replaced with uncommon care when MTN Project Fame contestants visited the Children's Development Centre, in Surulere, last week. It was a day set aside to bring love and care to the people who are in need of rare emotional and physical attention. The visit raised the pedigree of the reality show as one truly in touch with life and the desire to aid quality existence. Continue...

As well, it brings to prominence the work MTN Foundation begun in 2006 to help attain the vision of the special centre, which includes providing 'support services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities'.  Amongst other things the foundation has been pivotal in boosting research work and providing materials to give life to the centre. That humanitarian support was further buttressed by the MTN Project Fame contestants who spared no touch or embrace to humanize the kids and adults who are currently being cared for by the centre.

Photos: President Obama & his family attend his chef's wedding

What a lucky man. Imagine the President of the United States, the First Lady and their kids attending your wedding. Yesterday August 30th, president Obama, his wife Michelle and their daughters, Sasha and Malia flew from Washington to New York to attend the wedding of the White House assistant chef and their longtime family chef and close friend, Sam Kass (top right), who married MSNBC host Alex Wagner (bottom right).

Kass began cooking for the Obamas when they lived in Chicago before Obama became president, and in 2009 they persuaded him to come to the White House. Obama even attended Sam's bachelor party last week. See photos of their arrival in NY after the cut.

Photos: Child labour - Young girl made to wash truck everyday

Posted: 31 Aug 2014 01:57 AM PDT

Child abuse is not only when you hit a child, giving them hard labour is also part of child abuse. And I consider asking a young girl to wash a truck this big every day as hard labour.

According to a LIB reader, one of her neighbours makes a young girl who lives with them who she says is between 12-15 years, to wash their truck either at night or in the morning...every single day. She says passersby only watch and complain but nobody has done anything about it. They believe her life is at risk because she tries to manage her space as other vehicles pass. This is happening at Kings Avenue, Ben Mill Road, Ogodu Berger, in case the authorities want to look into it.

Or are there people who think this is OK? See more photos after the cut...

How to spot a fake Abuja big boy

Posted: 30 Aug 2014 11:30 PM PDT

Last time we 'learnt' how to spot a 'fake Abuja big babe' (see that here), now lets learn how to stop a 'fake Abuja big boy' as written by Premium Times Chinenye Ugonna. Enjoy below...
These guys are always well-dressed with flashy cars. Some of them are even from rich homes. You see them looking like a bag of money, meanwhile nothing in their bank accounts.
There is nothing wrong with looking good and not having money to back it up. There is only something wrong when you are doing it for packaging. Continue...

1. Always with the fake accent: Apparently, this is not exclusive to the babes. The male FABBs use all the accents in the world; British, American and Nigerian accent all muddled up in one. If they are talking to a babe who probably lived in the UK with a British accent, their accent automatically changes just to impress. Please, embrace your Nigerian accent, whether it is an Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa accent, be proud of it. You don't see an American man trying to talk like a Nigerian.

2. He only dates working girls: This is a highly defining character of the male FABB. They do not date jobless babes. If you don't have a J -O -B, then it's onto the next one. They do not want to be bothered about taking care of a babe who's probably still in school or sharing CV about. That is not in their dictionary of potential girlfriends.

3. He drives the flashiest of flashy cars: Warning: Don't be deceived, the car belongs to their father or uncle.

4. He always has a political connection: A typical Abuja boy is always related to some politician or influential person. The politicians are always their uncle but hardly ever their father. Sometimes, it could even be a politician they have met once- he becomes their uncle.

5. He is a mummy's boy: Most of the rich male FABBs live off the wealth of their family who still pay for everything they own. If you know a guy who lives in a very expensive duplex in Maitama but does not have a regular job, check that guy! They probably even get monthly allowance from their parents every month as grown men. Hey, not judging, you do you.

6. He immediately introduces you to his family/friends: Imagine you meet this nice looking guy in Abuja, and before you know it, he has introduced you to his family and friends. In your mind, you are thinking that you are an iyawo (wife in the Yoruba language), not knowing you are girlfriend no. 9.

7. He spontaneously proposes to you after a short period of dating: They tell you that you are a wife material or even propose marriage so they can be living off their new working class babe. You would cook, clean and before you know it, you have turned to their provider. Their food, shelter, and clothing would be taken care of by the working class babe. They start with "Please, borrow me N10, 000, I would pay you back." Next time, it's N20, 000 and then it keeps increasing. Of course, the babe will never get her money back. If you are guilty of this, it's not good o! It should be a joint effort.

8. He only remembers his babe on Thursdays: This is the time to remember all the hook-ups they have forgotten from Monday to Wednesday. They need to get a babe to turn up with during the weekend. If Halima doesn't respond, Salewa will. After all there are many fishes in the sea.

9. He doesn't have a proper job: This is not referring to the guys who genuinely work/hustle for their money from Monday to Friday to make ends meet. Thumbs up! This is for the guys who claim they work during the week but people still cannot point a finger on what they do. On Friday, they would be the first to update their status with: "Turn up weekend, TGIF".

10. He's always the first to pop bottles in the club: They are always the first to order bottles just to impress. When it's time to pay, they would remember they have to go to the bathroom. It's not by force to pop champagne. After popping and being forced to pay, they come home to eat noodles. Bear in mind that the money would have bought you a nice plate of jollof rice and a big fat chicken.

So, there you have the Fake Abuja Big Boy, FABB away.

Ebola: Fmr President Obasanjo expresses thoughts on late Sawyer

Posted: 30 Aug 2014 03:26 PM PDT

Former president Obasanjo has expressed his thoughts on Sawyer, his act and those who made it possible for him to enter Nigeria with the disease and spread it. Speaking at an event held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun state today, Obasanjo said;
"It is devilish enough Patrick Sawyer had to spread this and indeed spread it to Nigeria in connivance with some Liberian authorities from his country, because they knew he had it before he came to Nigeria. The EVD has started to take its toll on the country and the West African sub region. The toll is not only on the number of those who are ill or dead but on the communities, countries, regions and sub-region"

Posted: 30 Aug 2014 01:59 PM PDT

"According to our sources, the family will have to decide in the next couple of days whether to keep the 81-year-old on life support. We're told the family remains hopeful that if they do decide to turn off the machines, she will make a turn for the better and fight through it." TMZ reports
Just 12 hours before she was rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during a throat surgery on Thursday, the 81 year Fashion Police star had joked about dying. During her stand-up gig in Manhattan, Joan joked to her audience
"I'm 81 — I could go at any moment. I could fall over right here and you all could say, 'I was there!'. God help her!

Boko Haram funded through CBN- Australian Hostage negotiator says

Posted: 30 Aug 2014 01:46 PM PDT

It appears Australian hostage negotiator Dennis Stephen isn't done making outrageous and some would say 'eye-opening' claims. Just a day after he claimed that former Borno state Gov, Alimodu Sheriff and an unnamed retired army chief are sponsors of Boko Haram, he's now claiming that the insurgent group if funded through the CBN. In an interview with TheCable, Stephen claimed a senior official of the CBN handles the financial transactions of the sect group. What hs said below...
"One of the biggest of suppliers of arms and military uniforms to the JAS (Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda'awati wal-Jihad, better known as Boko Haram) currently lives in Cairo, Egypt. He is the recipient of money sent by political sponsors from Nigeria. The funds go through the CBN's financial system and appear to be a legal transaction. Meanwhile, the CBN official who handles the funding is an uncle to three of those arrested in connection with the Nyanya bombings. The three boys lived with him. They were arrested by the SSS (Department of State Security) after the bombings but they do not seem to have been interrogated about their uncle in CBN. Or if they have given up information about their uncle then the SSS has not moved against him." Stephen said Continue...
"Also, a senior official of CBN, who recently left the bank, was very close to Sodiq Aminu Ogwuche, the mastermind of the Nyanya bombings who also schooled in Sudan. Boko haram commanders said Ogwuche's wife used to visit this top official in his office at the headquarters of the bank in Abuja before the Nyanya bombings. They were very close," Davis said. He said he is speaking out now because he feels the Federal government is doing little in the rescue of the missing Chibok girls "I have three daughters. I just cannot stand the thought of what those girls are passing through. I have spoken to an escapee who described how she was being raped for 40 days by militants. I can't stand it. It is heart-breaking. Nigerian authorities must act decisively now," he said
