Photos: Church members demands the removal of their pastor over alleged affair with a member's wife

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 09:53 AM PDT

Angry members of a church in Soweto, South Africa on Good Friday protested, waving placards and calling for the removal of their pastor for allegedly wrecking a family he had counseled.

Ezekiel Letlape ,45 from Dobsonville, Soweto claimed that his wife was cheating on him with the pastor. He even showed the SunTeam the loving SMSes (pictured) sent by his wife to the pastor. He said he tried to speak to the pastor but didn't get straight answers...

"Then I took the matter to senior church members and asked for help." He said the pastor had helped him and his wife in the past. "Whenever there was a misunderstanding between me and my wife he would come and speak to us."
Letlape said he looked on the pastor as his father.

"I didn't know that he was a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has torn my family apart," he said.

When Daily Sun SA spoke to Ezekiel's wife Sentebaleng Letlape, 42 at their house, she admitted to sending loving SMSes to the pastor but she said she was not sleeping with the pastor.

"I was just flirting with him because I felt lonely and neglected by my husband. The pastor is very nice to everyone," she claimed adding that she and her husband have not slept in the same bed for two years because he was a serial cheater.

"He would sleep out and only come back the next morning. He didn't want to sleep with me until one day I cheated on him openly to give him a taste of his own medicine."
Ezekiel confirmed that he had cheated on his wife in the past and it was the same pastor who counselled them about it.

When the SunTeam went to his office, the pastor asked not to be photographed and told the church secretary to speak to the paper. She said the pastor could not comment on the allegation against him because the matter was with the presbytery.

Church member Tebogo Sebokwane ,62 vowed there will be no service until the pastor steps down.

"We have evidence of the allegations and it is sad that he is implicated in such damning claims," he said.

Johannes Tlhapi, 56 said they had prepared for Easter prayers but they were disrupted because of a man who wouldn't simply resign instead of waiting for an investigation.

United Logistics - Sport Surface Construction & Renovation and Modular Formwork for Housing Construction

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 09:52 AM PDT

Over the years, construction has taken a new face. More developed countries have caught up with this changing trend, but Nigeria is unfortunately still stuck with the archaic methods of construction. No one builds the way we still do. Let's change that by stepping out and stepping up. The new system of constructing columns, beams, slabs, tank farms, etc have allowed for contour free casting with plastic moulds.

It eliminates the process of having to plaster after casting and still resulting in a partially smooth and flawed surface. Depending on how well it is maintained, this system is viable for use and reuse 1000 times more than the regular methods.

Providing new technology is what we do best at UNITED LOGISTICS LIMITED, this is also shown in our sports facility installation.

For the past 15years our company, UNITED LOGISTICS LIMITED, has been delivering the finest sports surface flooring for Tennis, Basketball Courts, Artificial Turf for Soccer, Running tracks, etcacross Nigeria. Any new sports surface looks wonderful but it's not just the surface that makes an exceptional court, what lies beneath it and the team behind the construction are equally as important.
Our body of work includes     ...Construction & Renovation of Basketball Courts at Babcock University, Ilishan -Remo, Capital Academy, Kuje - Abuja, Federal polytechnic Ekowe-Bayelsa, Jolly Nyame Stadium – Jalingo, Construction of Outdoor Sports Facilities for the 16th National Sports Festival Murtala Square "KADA 2009" Kaduna, Renovation of University of Lagos Sports Facilities for the National Sports Festival 2012 etc.

'Mariah, I need your help. Please don't abandon me.' -Dying sister of Mariah Carey begs

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 09:44 AM PDT

Mariah Carey's sister Alison Carey has begged her to put aside their differences and help save her life in a new video taken at her hospital bedside. In a video released by  Daily Mail, the former drug addict, who is also HIV positive said;
'Mariah I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don't abandon me like this.'

Alison awaits brain and spine surgery and if she pulls through, faces years of physical rehabilitation and according to Mariah Carey's brother, Morgan, Alison was institutionalized for observation after being found wandering in the street barefoot and partially dressed.

Alison once revealed she went into prostitution to feed and take care of Mariah and her siblings before Mariah found fame and wealth.

Morgan hopes Mariah who has an estimated net worth of $510 million and is engaged to Australian billionaire James Packer, will come help them.

Morgan, 55, wanted to prove Alison was lucid and had her faculties about her.

In the short clip the penniless former prostitute is spaced out  and slurring her words as brother Morgan asks for her permission to have the order lifted.
Morgan says: 'Alison, look at me, you're Alison Carey, are you Alison Carey?' She responds: 'Yes'.
Morgan continues: 'Today is September 15, 2015?'
'Yes', she replied.
'[Redacted]  signed a "do not resuscitate"…do you want to revoke that order?'
Morgan asked the question three times and she responded, 'I do', each time.
Morgan added : 'The worst is yet to come and Mariah has it in her power to at least ensure a soft landing and avoid a life time of regret about missing this opportunity to forgive and help her only sister.'
'I would be hopeful, although I am not encouraged by the past, that Mariah would step up because she's in a position to step up.
'We're talking about small change to these people, her fiancé is a billionaire.
'The least they could do is put Alison in a good hospital and make sure she gets the care she needs.
'Mariah is the one person in the family who could actually make a real meaningful difference to Alison's life.'
'It was painful for her to speak, you could hear the raspiness in her breath, she had had a tube down her throat for so long.
'She looked like she had been beaten down by this whole experience, her eyes were foggy, her skin jaundice and she had very little motor control.
'Every effort, every movement was very labored and painful and difficult , but she was very much alive.
'I wanted to be able to prove that she was lucid, that she understood who she was, where she was, what was going on around her.

Photos: Mother of 4-year-old girl beheaded in Taiwan pens touching tribute to her

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 09:27 AM PDT

A 4-year-old girl was decapitated by a knife-wielding man in an apparent random attack outside a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan on Monday, March 28.

The girl's mother, Ms Claire Wang has touched many Taiwanese with her composure and loving message to her slain child, even as public outrage over the shocking incident threatens to boil over.

"Fortunately, I had held you tightly and told you I loved you every day," the 36-year-old posted on her Facebook account on Tuesday March 29, the day after the tragedy, together with a photo of her holding her daughter in her arms and her husband by their side. According to Central News Agency, she gave the media permission to use the photos

Ms Wang appeared before dozens of TV cameras and journalists just hours after witnessing the killing of her child on Monday morning on a Taipei street. Although visibly traumatized and tearful, she spoke coherently about the incident and how she tried but failed to protect her child, who is identified in the media only by her surname Liu and family nickname of Little Light Bulb.

The suspect, 33-year-old Wang Ching-yu, grabbed the child from behind and decapitated her with a cleaver as she was riding a bicycle near Ms Wang.
He has a criminal record for drug offences and had undergone psychiatric treatment. He was beaten up by an angry mob on Tuesday while being transferred from a Taipei police station to the prosecutor's office for questioning.

Amid widespread calls for the killer to be executed immediately and for a mandatory death penalty for people convicted of killing children, Ms Wang has been one of the few to call for calm and reason at the same time she mourned her loss.

"I believe the suspects in these kinds of random killings lose their minds at that moment," Ms Wang told TV reporters at the police station on Monday.
"This is not a problem that can be solved by passing a law," she said. "I hope we can address the problem from its root, from the perspective of family and education, so that there will no longer be people like him (the perpetrator) in our society."

Ms Wang and her husband David Liu, 44 graduated from the University of Southern California, CNA reported. Mr Liu works in the high-tech sector, while Ms Wang is a stay-at-home mum. They have three other children, a nine-year-old girl and two-year-old twins.

Ms Wang, who says she is a free-thinker, seemed determined to turn the tragedy of her daughter's death into a lesson for the greater good.

"After the incident, many friends advised me to close my blog and Facebook page, but I really hope that her death can leave something behind, stir up some discussion, remind people of the importance of love, and call attention to the many issues in society," Ms Wang told reporters outside the funeral home on Tuesday.

"Please keep trusting people because society is still beautiful." she wrote on her Facebook page. "Please give your dearest family members a hug. That would be the most comforting and caring thing you could do for us."

"This morning, Little Light Bulb got up earlier than usual and told me happily that she was early enough to say 'bye bye' to her older sister as she left for school," Ms Wang wrote of the girl's last day alive in a widely circulated essay.

Later, Ms Wang wrote, the little girl sat on the bed as she nibbled on a fruit and looked out of the window. Asked what she was looking at, the girl told her mother: "I'm admiring the scenery and eating fruit.
"It's so beautiful. The world is so beautiful."
"Maybe it was her final retrospection of the world," wrote Ms Wang.

On Wednesday, March 30, the grieving mother announced, with her husband by her side, that the public was welcomed to visit her daughter's wake, but asked that mourners come "without hatred in your heart".

"I have never believed that hatred and recrimination can solve problems," Ms Wang said in a message printed on a card placed at the entrance to the wake.
"That's why we have always educated her (Little Light Bulb) in a loving, gentle way....She has accomplished her mission in this beautiful world and left without a care. I hope she can go on her way surrounded by love."

Tax enforcement and prosecution of defaulters in Lagos State to commence after March 31st deadline

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 08:50 AM PDT

Read the press statement below...
In consonance with Section 82 of the Personal Income Tax Act (as amended), The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) wishes to formally notify the public of its intention to commence the prosecution of tax evaders and offenders in Lagos State beginning from April 1, 2016.
Under the Personal Income Tax Act, a taxable person is statutorily required to file a return of income for the preceding year within 90days from the commencement of every year of assessment (March 31st is the deadline), whilst any employer of labour is required to file all emoluments paid to its employees for the preceding year, not later than 31st of January each year. Therefore any taxable person or corporate organisation who fails to file their tax returns with LIRS by the stipulated date is in breach of the provisions of the law, which is a criminal offence that is punishable under the tax laws.

The LIRS, having put all the necessary machineries in place to ensure the enforcement of the tax laws with effect from April 1, 2016 has warned all erring taxpayers to comply; reiterating that the full weight of the law will be brought to bear on taxable persons who fail to file requisite returns as provided by the law.

While many taxpayers have complied willingly by filing their returns in the last months, It is disheartening to note that in spite of all efforts by the LIRS, a large fraction of eligible taxpayers are still not complying, thereby failing to contribute to the common purse for the common good of all. In the wake of little or no proceeds from the federation account, the focus of the present administration in renewing infrastructure and general development of the State cannot be achieved by the attitude of those who deliberately refuse to discharge their civic responsibility to the State.

Without revenue, all of those things that facilitate our progress as a civilized community will not materialize, if there are no infrastructural developments like roads to get to business sites businesses cannot thrive, if we do not have all the services that government is compelled to offer e.g. security, education, healthcare, and law and order as it is being proffered by the court then we cannot make progress collectively.

LIRS has in the last three months embarked on massive advocacy and enlightenment programmes, taking people through a process of education on the laws bordering on tax administration and the need and benefits of paying their taxes as at when due.

We have gone further to develop various initiatives to ease the methodology of paying taxes in Lagos, starting with thesimplification of our tax payment processes, through the compression of the 'Tax Form A' from 6pages to 2 pages, introduction of new payment platforms, e-submission of annual returns, creation of the LIRS hotline (0700CALLLIRS) and help desks in all tax stations, relaxation of requirements for replacement of lost e-TCC among others, all of which are focused on building convenience into the payment of taxes and subsequently promoting voluntary compliance.

We are now going to the next phase, which is enforcement and prosecution, that is taking full advantage of the provisions of the tax laws to apprehend and prosecute tax defaulters.

According to the Executive Chairman of LIRS, Mr. Olufolarin Ogunsanwo,

'We have a robust database that captures all taxable individuals and firms in Lagos State as well as transactions for the purpose of audit, so there is no hiding place for any tax evader''. He therefore calls on every taxable person in Lagos State to take advantage of the window on or before the March 31st deadline to ensure that his or her tax return has been duly filed.

He added that The Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice will through the Rapid Tax Prosecution Unit commence prosecution of tax defaulters in Lagos State without further notice.

LIRS however wishes to thank the good people of Lagos State who have continually supported the administration of His Excellency Mr Akinwunmi Ambode through voluntary and prompt payment of their taxes and reiterate that we will continue to take full advantage of the provisions of the law to prosecute recalcitrant corporate organisations and individuals. It is important to note that all tax evaders and offenders, upon prosecution may be fined or imprisoned or face both as provided in Section 95, 96 and 97 of the Personal Income Tax Act.

Check out these ladies with beards

Posted: 30 Mar 2016 08:28 AM PDT

Days after popular singer Adele revealed she has a beard that she just cropped out and that she started growing facial hair while pregnant, other brave ladies with the same condition have decided to ditch their insecurities and embrace their facial follicles.

Adele, confessed to gig-goers in Glasgow that she has a beard, she said:
"I actually have a beard, but I'm proud of it. I only cropped it last night. I call it Larry." Her confession has been applauded by others who have had struggles with their stubble.
Thereafter, three women who sport impressive beards came out with their own stories. In a interview with Diana Appleyard  they revealed more about the condition:

Mariam Mitbart, from Bath, writes a blog that celebrates female facial hair and has appeared as a bearded lady in a circus. She is single and has a 31-year-old son. Mariam, 51, says:
I feel more sexy and womanly now. Like Adele, my facial hair began growing after the birth of my son because of the hormones released in pregnancy.
My doctor at the time told me that it happens to a lot of women and that my facial hair would stop growing, but it hasn't.
At first, I was horrified and I used to pluck the hairs on my chin every day. But after nearly 20 years of doing that my chin was very red and some of the hairs had become in-grown.
I looked as if I had fallen over and landed on my chin. I tried electrolysis three times, but each time the hairs grew back. So eight years ago I decided I'd had enough of continually plucking and let the beard grow.
I started a blog telling other women about my condition. At first, I was scared that no one would talk to me any more, and my mother said to me, "Do you have to shock people like this?"
Admin assistant Sarah Taylor has struggled with facial hair issues since she was 18. She lives in Aylesbury, Bucks, with her fiancé Tom, 26, a builder. Sarah, 24, says:
I feel like half-man, half-woman, it's hard. Having facial hair is so difficult as a woman  so thank goodness Adele has approached the subject with such openness. It may seem like a joke to some, but having a superstar speak about having a beard will make a big difference to so many women who beat themselves up about their facial hair. I started growing stubble when I was 18 and it has had a massive impact on my life.
My fiancé is extremely supportive but I always carry a razor in my handbag and, if I feel I look a bit stubbly, I will quickly shave. I normally shave every two or three days, and I have also tried waxing. I'd like to try laser hair removal but I think it would be very expensive.
Like many women with facial hair I have polycystic ovary syndrome, which will also make becoming pregnant difficult if not impossible. Coming to terms with that was hard enough, but growing facial hair made it ten times worse. At first I had faint stubble, then the problem escalated. Growing a beard made me feel terrible. My friends were very supportive, but I felt so self-conscious about people staring in the street. My little brother, who was only four at the time, said: "Why do you have hair on your face?"
I feel as if I'm half-man, half-woman, which is hard. I smother my top lip and chin with make-up, but still feel people can see the hair. I could bleach it, but it wouldn't affect the hair growth.
Harnaam Kaur is a body positivity campaigner from Slough, Berkshire. She had facial hair as a child and was bullied. Single Harnaam, 25, says:
The joke is now on those cruel bullies. I was just 11 years old when my beard started to grow and the hair quickly spread to my chest and arms. My condition made me the victim of bullies at school and on the streets — I'd be called "beardo", "shemale" or "sheman". The taunts were so bad I didn't want to go out and I used to lock myself away in my bedroom.
I was so depressed about my facial hair I started to self-harm, and there were times when I felt that I could not go on living. I used to try to shave, wax or bleach the hair but that just made it worse. I used to talk to people with my hand over my chin, and I wore baggy clothes to cover up my arms. But when I was 16 I was baptised as a Sikh and, at that point, I decided that I was going to embrace my beard and let it grow with pride.
I had been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, which basically means your hormones go haywire and I had too much testosterone. I feel I have never looked back since that point and the joke is now on the bullies who were so cruel to me, because my beard has given me opportunities I would not otherwise have had. This is the way that God has made me and I am so glad that Adele has treated this issue so openly, with honesty and humour. I feel more feminine and sexy now that I have let my beard grow.
At first my parents were worried for me, thinking that I wouldn't be able to get a job or ever get married, but now they and my brother are fully supportive.
If people stare at me in the street, I just smile right back at them and if anyone shouts, "Oi, where did you get that beard?" I reply, "Asda." I've recently taken part in a fashion show and I was so proud on the catwalk. I love fashion, dressing up and getting my nails done

Omoni Oboli sends loving message to her son as he turns a year older today

Actress Omoni Oboli took to her Instagram page this afternoon to send loving words to her last son, Chizi, who turns a year older today. According to her, she wanted a daughter so badly before his birth but she is grateful to God for giving him to her. She shared the photo above and wrote;
"#TheFirstLady and The Last Card...at least for now 😜. Happy birthday to my wonderful son Chizi! Thank you for choosing me to be your mom! Let me tell you a little story...when I was going to have Chizi, I wanted a daughter so bad. We already named the baby Adanna in the womb. Even after the doctor said we were expecting a boy, I refused to give up.
Lo and behold, Chizi came and I thank God that in his infinite mercies, he decided to give me Chizi. I cannot begin to tell you how much joy he brings me. Just like his mama, Chizi is a jack of all trade and master of all! He's a straight A student, he's great at sports, dances very well, fantastic at art, does very believable magic tricks, solves his rubi cube very fast and all the things he does. He's such a delight and so lovable! Always smiling and whistling. Melts my heart all day, every day! I couldn't have asked for a better son! Pray with me #Omonifamthat God will keep him in His love and increase him on every side. No evil shall befall him nor any plague come near him in Jesus name!"
