The 17-year-old girl from Kebbi State was rescued by the Nigerian Army three days ago during a clearance operation in the Lake Chad basin area of Gamboru Ngala LGA, Borno State. What he wrote below: "Announcement! By: Hon. Abdulrahman Abdulkarim. She was kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014. Her name is Farida, her father's name is Babangida, age, 17. She's from Tawon Ambborsa village of Kebbi State. This young girl suffers for years in the hands of these evils, she was recovered three days go during clearance operation in the Lake Tchad basic area of Gamboru Ngala LG Area. Any body with the information details of her parents or their whereabout should please forward them or refer them to the local govt area, G/Ngala, Borno State. |

Youths of Nigeria, I want to communicate with you today. I noticed that there are too many divisions amongst our youths and as a stakeholder in Nigeria and parent of Nigerian children, I believe I ought to intervene. Youths, do not make the mistakes my generation made. Do not see yourselves through tribal and religious lens. My generation of Nigerians did that and look where it has led us. You must do better. It is foolish for any youth to fight another youth over APC or PDP. Let me ask you, what is the difference between the APC and the PDP? Half of the members of the APC are former PDP members and vice versa. Let me ask you youths a question: Do the APC and the PDP fight over you as you fight over them? How many ministers have they given you? How many ambassadors have they given you? How many heads of parastatals have they given you? That's right, the answer is ZERO! So resist the desire of vested interests to control you and use you to fight other youths on social media and in real life. What youths do not realize is that you are victims of divide and conquer. You make up 60% of the population yet account for 0% of the federal cabinet! Your price should be more than a plate of rice and a handshake. Work together not against each other! Come on Nigerian youths, be smart! If you think after you have been used to fight each other these vested interests will hand power to you, think again. Their kids who are abroad will do same to your kids! It is time to end the hate and come together for Nigeria's good. Long after we are gone, you will be around. So learn to get along. As I have said and I will keep saying, the youths are the leaders of today if only they will resist being used by vested interests. How old is Trudeau, the Canadian PM. He was 43 when he became PM. You can be much more than a thug or Twitter overlord. You can be like Trudeau's. My name is Ben Murray Bruce and I not only want to make commonsense, I also believe in the Nigerian youth. |

More celebrities have continued to embrace the Haven Homes' flagship project at Richmond Gate Estate. MTN brand ambassadors recently gathered in Richmond Gate Estate for a video shoot after the video director, Mr Sesan Ogunro came to Haven Homes and was pleased to discover an alternative serene location that is comparable to the exotic scenes in South Africa hitherto patronized for such video shoots. A scene on the shoot had ace artiste, Sound Sultan driving a truck within the premises of Richmond Gate Estate. He was working alongside a host of other superstars on music videos which are set to debut soon. According to Ms Ukueku, there are several notable features in the latest model, and she avers that it differs from the 2015 design in that a special element known as ''curve architecture'' has been taken to a much higher level by the creation of a unique roof design that curves from the first deck to the upper roof. A curve spanning over 2 floors!  This civil engineering feat is unique on the residential landscape in Nigeria and is the first of such known. Haven Homes added that their structural engineers, Abisoye & Co. faced a huge challenge as the massive curve could have placed undue stress over the first deck cantilever but with careful weight balancing, structural strength was achieved through the use of carefully designed clay pots to keep the structure standing. One major advantage with this design is that it's difficult to copy by design pirates, a habit that Haven Homes has often decried over the past few years. The internal fittings of the 2016 design also enjoyed some enhancements. The new designs are fitted with wall switches that emit pilot LED light in the dark so that their locations can be seen even in the dark eliminating groping for switch locations, in addition to having the walls being kept clean. Furthermore, a significant 90 percent cut in energy load has been achieved because all spot lights installed are now energy saving units that reduce each spotlight from 50watts to 5watts per bulb. In the last ten years, Haven Homes has consistently come up with fascinating and innovative new home designs for each year, with the next design in line being the 2017 model in view due to be delivered over the next ten months. She was accompanied by other top government functionaries and the heads of security agencies in the state. She was reportedly in the school to share in the pains of the parents, and to equally assure them that the government would leave no stone unturned until the three girls are rescued alive. | Jury finds Footballer Adam Johnson not guilty on one count of sexual activity with a child Posted: 02 Mar 2016 08:18 AM PST   Arriving at court today, Johnson was again accompanied by his ex-girlfriend Stacey Flounders, who has supported him during the trial and gave evidence for the defense, despite claiming she and the sacked footballer have split up. The prosecuting counsel say Johnson had oral sex with the 15 year old girl and even penetrated her but the player and the defense counsel say he only kissed the girl. Judge Jonathan Rose finished his summing up to the jury yesterday before telling them they should strive to reach unanimous verdicts. He told them: 'When you retire you must reach verdicts on which you are all agreed. I will only accept unanimous verdicts - 12-0 is the only possible score.' The judge reminded the jury that Johnson deleted 834 WhatsApp message from his mobile phone. The judge recalled that the player and the girl exchanged messages before the January 30 meeting about getting a thank-you kiss. He said that in the messages Johnson said he was after 'a little bit more than kissing, a bit of feeling'. The judge reminded the jury that, from the witness box, Johnson said 'I considered going as far as she would let me. I was hoping I could feel her body, her private parts. It would be the normal progression.' 'I was hoping it would happen, but it never happened.' The judge said this was because the player said he realised it was the wrong thing to do. The trial continues. |
| Senate reduces UTME registration fee to N2,500, to extend validity period to 3yrs Posted: 02 Mar 2016 08:38 AM PST  The resolution was taken following the adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund on the inquiry into the new admission policy of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). They also resolved to amend the Act establishing JAMB to reflect the extension of the validity period which is at the moment a year. |

| Posted: 02 Mar 2016 08:00 AM PST  On this fateful morning, Thursday 25th February 2016, Ozzybee came into his mum's bedroom to say good morning and stumbled on her phone where he saw on Linda Ikeji's Blog, the picture of the 4 year old Sadiq Usman whose eyes were brutally gouged out by ritualists in Zaria. The pathetic pictures so touched the young artiste that he broke down and wept uncontrollably clinging onto the phone with his eyes glued on the lamentable photos of this innocent child. He was engulfed with so much emotions, pity and rage for the heartless ritualists who committed this heinous crime. All efforts by his mum and nanny to pacify him proved abortive as he poured out his heart saying "why did they wicked this small boy like this; mummy! I want to see Sadiq to sing my SMILE AGAIN song and dance for him so as to make him happy". Team Ozzybee working under the auspices of OzzyBosco Smile Foundation (OSF) are moved beyond words, therefore have resolved to support this kid in carrying out his heart desires; to visit, extend love and play with Usman. We have also pledged OSF's readiness to join forces/partner with Sadiq Usman Foundation (SUF) to spread awareness and curb the rising cases of cruelty and abuse on innocent children.
