| British-born Nigerian man removed from UK flight by armed police over 'prayer' message on his phone Posted: 03 Mar 2016 11:52 AM PST   Laolu Opebiyi was using WhatsApp to arrange a conference call prayer session with friends, as the Amsterdam-bound flight was waiting to take off at Luton airport on Thursday February 25 when a passenger next to him questioned him about message that included the word 'prayer' asking "What do you mean by prayer?" The 40-year-old Nigerian-born business analyst from London explained to the passenger that he was preparing to pray with friends. Few minutes later, he was pulled off the flight by two firearms officers. It is thought the man misread the name of Mr Opebiyi's prayer group "ISI men" – which stands for "iron sharpens iron" from a Bible quote – as Isis. Mr Opebiyi told the Guardian: "That guy doesn't know me and within two minutes he's judging me. Even if I was a Muslim, it was pretty unfair the way I was treated. If we keep on giving into this kind of bigotry and irrational fear, I dare say that the terrorists will have achieved their aim." Mr Opebiyi was taken into questioning by police and quizzed about his Christian faith and where he attends church. He was forced to hand over his phone and password so officers could check his communication. He was eventually freed and allowed to catch another flight about three hours later. Seven other passengers reportedly got off the flight fearing a terror threat and also took the next plane, Guardian reports. A spokeswoman for Bedfordshire Police said: "Officers attended and a passenger was removed from the flight as part of the enquiries. Officers notified easyJet that they were satisfied that there was no concern around the passenger travelling." A spokeswoman for easyJet who apologised over the incident said: "Easyjet can confirm that following concerns raised by passengers, the captain of flight EZY2151 from Luton to Amsterdam requested the assistance of the authorities who took the decision to disembark and question the passenger. The safety and security of its passengers and crew is our highest priority which means that is a security concern is raised we will always investigate it as a precautionary measure. After questioning by the authorities, the passenger was cleared to complete his journey so easyJet arranged a later easyJet flight for him. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused to the passenger" The officers cleared Mr Opebiyi for flight but the pilot refused to let him on and he was made to wait a further three hours to board the next flight to Amsterdam. He told the Guardian that he is aftraind that he is on a terrorist watchlist. "I stand in uncertainty about my freedom of movement in the UK" he said. | ||||||||

| LI gets 1 million followers on Twitter + These tweets aren't from me Posted: 03 Mar 2016 09:31 AM PST  Meanwhile, there's something else I want to address because I saw a lot of folks abusing me upandan on social media this week over tweets they think I posted. Something about 'I can buy any man I want'. Yeah, right, that's why I've been single for years! #Rollseyes! I may have made careless statements during the Hermes bag saga that I definitely regret and have apologized for (I was stark raving mad when I was posting on IG...I was in another world...lol) and my words were to the 'haters' but I forgot that there were young people who look up to me who were also observing what was going on and were disappointed by my remarks. I regret my words. So, yeah, I may have said those silly things but I would never post those tweets from the fake account. It was tweeted some days ago and I addressed it on Twitter but I see some people/groups on Facebook talking about it and many still believe I tweeted it and are just abusing me anyhow..lol. Thus, I decided to address it here! No one can buy a man...or a woman for that matter. You can only buy a Muppet or a gold digger, not a real man. And a real man is what I am looking for! *wink*. See the tweets after the cut and please if anyone can help me shut down the Twitter account, I would appreciate it before they spoil my career..lol The fake handle has 4k followers. It is @lindaLkeji. So the L is a small letter, and makes it look like lindalkeji. Mine is @lindaikeji with an i. (There are several other fake Linda Ikeji twitter/Facebook pages). The amateur rap video went viral in early 2013 after Turk was arrested in a massive drug sweep and charged with selling Oxycodone to undercover officers.  Turk pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled drug, but her case was sealed and dismissed after she completed a court-mandated treatment program involving regular drug testing and a 6pm curfew.  Her death is still being investigated to find the exact cause. | ||||||||

| Posted: 03 Mar 2016 07:37 AM PST  A 40-year-old man in Kisii County, Kenya, was on Monday, February 29, sentenced to 200 years in prison for killing his 4 children. Kisii resident judge, Joseph Karanja ruled that Misati will serve the sentence concurrently for 50 years for each of the four counts of murder he had been charged with. According to Standard Digital News, the case has been in court since 2013 when Misati was charged with killing his four children, Toto, 3, Brian, 9, Ontoyo, 7, and Naomi Mogutu, 5.  Lukas Misati committed the crime outside their rental houses in Egesa in Kitutu Chae Central, on the night of November 10, 2012 following a feud with his wife, Helen Kemunto (pictured) In her affidavit, Kemunto told the court that her husband came home on the night of that fateful day, woke her up and said he wanted them to move. She refused and Misati attacked her with a knife. Kemunto escaped with injuries and managed to get treatment at a nearby hospital. "I managed to escape and went to seek treatment at Kisii Level Five Hospital," the affdiavit reads. But when she returned home, she found the children missing.  "I thought they had shifted to another house. My husband called our landlady and told her to inform me that i pick my children from a nearby bush. However, one of the children lay dead at the doorstep while the other three bodies were in the nearby nappier grass" A postmortem carried out on the bodies revealed that the deaths were caused by strangulation. Misati was on the run for one year before he was picked up by the police on November 21, 2013. After his sentencing, Misati recounted that everything happened so fast to be able to tell what happened that night. | ||||||||

I want to state categorically that what I received from my friend, Jide Omokore were cars and buses supplied by a well-known car company, Skymit Motors apparently from a credit facility Mr Omokore has with the company. I don't have any knowledge of the so-called transaction the investigators are alleging he had with NNPC. Against this background, it is most disheartening that the facts of the matter under investigation have been grossly misrepresented in the media, apparently under inducement by some political opponents in the APC particularly, a Minister from Rivers State. This is in line with the strategy of the ruling Party to hide under the anti-corruption fight to humiliate the leadership of our Party. I have been granted bail under very stringent conditions after 8 days in detention. Since the EFCC did not establish any case against me, I find my needless detention a clear case of witch-hunt and pure political persecution that has become a stock in trade of the APC government. My immediate concern is the denial of the fundamental human rights, excessive physical incarceration and the orchestrated negative media campaign completely skewed against those being investigated. Nevertheless, I hereby restate my confidence in the rule of law and the relevant institutions for the resolution of this matter on its merit in the interest of justice. | Turtle Taido animation series to run in 53 African countries... A syndication agreement has been signed between the owners of the program, Tayekeni Productions and Atlantic Pictures to syndicate the series across all African countries, while other language versions of the series will also be produced for distribution. Creator and Executive Producer, of Turtle Taido, Muyiwa Kayode pictured above... ADVENTURES OF TURTLE TAIDO is the story of a bubbly, lively turtle who travels to different cities on an adventure. On his journeys, he makes friends and learns about different cultures. He also learns about different animals. His special powers enables him get himself and others get out of trouble. His experiences teaches us to understand diversity and live with others in peace and harmony. Created and Produced by MuyiwaKayode, the educational series launched on Africa Magic Family Channel in July 2015, and has since been running on NTA Network, LTV, Silverbird TV, with plans to air it on other Nigerian channels. Apparently delighted with this development, MuyiwaKayode says 'We are excited about this agreement, because our vision is to develop a proudly African animation series and hopefully a popular cartoon character. He later admitted to Heather that he had married Julia and has said he is sorry. She has returned to the Caribbean Island, where her mother lives, so that her son can have a relationship with his father.   Heather, a trained dancer, said: 'When I opened the message it felt like I had been hit by a double-decker bus. Adonis had his arms around a woman and she was wearing a wedding dress. It didn't make sense and the more I thought about it, the more absurd it was.We had only been apart for a few weeks and there was no way Adonis could have met another woman and arranged a wedding in less than a month.' | ||||||||
