| AFCON Qualifiers: Nigeria 1-1 Egypt (Super Eagles stunned by last minute equalizer) Posted: 25 Mar 2016 12:20 PM PDT  Samson Siasia, Nigeria's caretaker coach for the qualifiers after Sunday Oliseh's shock resignation started the match with Odion Ighalo , Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho staring in a three- pronged attack for the host team. Obaobona started in the heart of the defence for the super Eagles while new captain John Mikel Obi started alongside Etebo in the heart of midfield as Siasia wanted his team to come out with all three points at home ahead of a tricky away tie in Egypt. Nigeria pressurized in the first half with efforts from Etebo, Odion Ighalo and Kelechi Iheanacho unable to break the Egyptian defence down as the match ended 0-0 in the first half.  The second half began with Oghenekaro Etebo scoring in the 59th minute after an Iheanacho shot caused a rebound to which Etebo gladly put into the net. Alex Iwobi was introduced with 8 minutes to go as he made his first competitive debut for Nigeria and tried with his teammates to increase Nigeria's lead over Egypt Nigeria had chances to increase their lead with efforts from Etebo, Victor Moses and Ighalo unable to increase the lead. With three minutes of extra time added, Mohammed Salah , Egypt's star man scoring after the Nigerian defence played him onside, much to the delight of the away team. The pain and sadness on Samson Siasia's face was too evident to see as 20,000 Nigerian fans at the stadium in Kaduna left unhappy after seeing the home team drop two valuable points. At the moment, Egypt are on top of group G with seven points from two matches, while Nigeria are two points behind with only the overall group winners guaranteed automatic passage to AFCON 2017 in Gabon. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Dr Ubah, who flew the entire management and coaching crew of FC Ifeanyi Ubah arrived to Kaduna aboard the club's private aircraft this morning to cheer the national team to victory, has pledged a reward of $5,000 to the team if they pick the maximum points against the North Africans. The business mogul and Publisher of The Authority newspapers, who expressed absolute confidence in the capability of the Eagles to beat the seven-time African champions, said that the FC Ifeanyi Ubah delegation was in Kaduna to lend their support to the Super Eagles and boost the morale of the national team to demolish their opponents. | Posted: 25 Mar 2016 07:56 AM PDT  After giving birth to her daughter Leila by an anonymous sperm donor, Aminah Hart set out to track him down. She found him, she fell in love with him and in December 2015, they got married. That's not all. Aminah and Scotts Andersen's incredible love story has now been turned into a book called How I Met Your Father and is also set to be made into a film...  At the age of 42, Aminah decided to go through IVF using an anonymous donor, after she tragically lost her two young sons Marlon and Louis (at just 14 weeks and 14 months respectively), due to a genetic disorder called x-linked myotubular myopathy. She was 'relieved' and delighted when she gave birth to baby girl Leila on August 14, 2012, but, as she herself had grown up without a father, she decided she wanted Leila's dad to play a part in her life. So, she set about tracking him down.  Luckily, Scott had told the fertility clinic that he was willing to meet a child born from his sperm. On August 18, 2013, a year after their daughter was born, Aminah and Scott met for the first time in Melbourne.  "It was much easier than I'd anticipated. I was nervous … I was walking in to meet a complete stranger and I had his genetic child in my arms," Aminah says. There was an instant spark and, over the following months, the two gradually fell in love. In December 2015, they exchanged vows in a ceremony on the beach in front of 130 of their closest friends and family in Sorrento, Victoria. "It was utterly spectacular overlooking the sea, but it was blowing an absolute gale," Aminah recalls.  Their daughter Leila was a flower girl, although she initially wasn't that fussed. 'She wasn't interested at first and kept saying "you can't marry my mum" but she ended up getting caught up in it all and was the most divine little flower girl,' mum explained.  For advertising executive Aminah, it was a day to cherish after years of struggling to overcome the death of her two young sons. She had travelled to London in her twenties to find her father Tony, only to learn he'd died a couple of years before. She stayed in London for many years, marrying and having a son, Marlon, who sadly died at just 14-weeks-old as the result of a congenital disorder.  Returning to Melbourne after the end of her marriage Aminah had another baby boy, Louis, who tragically died of the same congenital disorder at 14 months. At 42, she bravely decided to give motherhood one last try. Little did she know that an anonymous sperm donor would eventually give her both the large family (Scott also has three boys and a girl) and the happiness she was searching for. "It really felt like the beginning of something incredibly beautiful. You could see the happiness and pure elation in the room. The band knew how to work and audience and got everyone on to the dance floor – even Scott who is not one to dance" Aminah described her wedding day- even Scot who is not one to dance." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Sunlight's Alarambara shines with real-life drama Posted: 25 Mar 2016 07:22 AM PDT  Each airing is filled with issues every woman can identify with. If you haven't been in a particular situation, you would definitely know someone who has. The drama of Alarambara continues on selected radio stations in South west Nigeria. It is so easy to relate with MosunFilani's character, SisiOge and her four friends – the troublemaking Bisi; flighty Anike; money-loving IyaAlaje and newly-wed Iyawo – as they help one another grow, in the true-to-life scenarios of each entertaining episode. For example,in the first episode of Alarambara's second season, Bisi was in her element, trying too hard to "shine" at the Local Government Chairman's party. She couldn't afford the costly "aso-ebi", but she bought it on credit anyway, just to "feel among" and look better than her more cautious friends. Her fingers got burnt a few days later when the "aso-ebi" seller tracked her down at IyaAlaje's shop with a mob of jobless women, threatened to publicly disgrace and teach her, to cut her coat according to her cloth. In Episode 2, "Be Confident in the Woman You Are", Anike got off with just a little skin damage, after a botched attempt to bleach her skin in order to retain her husband's love. It could have been much worse, but thanks to SisiOge's sensible advice, she regained her lost self-confidence and her husband's trust. Iya-Alaje was however not that lucky. In episode 3, "A Mother's Responsibility" she forgot to pick her son from school while she was buying and selling gold. Again, SisiOge and her other friends come to the rescue.
