Messi is worth €141m, while Cristiano Ronaldo is €101m - University report says

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 12:27 PM PDT

According to a new report by a Spanish University, the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Lionel Messi has a higher net value than Cristiano Ronaldo. With the Argentine valued at €141m millon while Cristiano Ronaldo is valued at  €101million.

The final figures according to the University report were determined by an Analytic Hierarchy Process multicriteria method which acknowledges variables such as number of goals, assists per game, bookings, leadership and marketing generated by the Argentine and Portuguese players.

The study is in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University.

This isn't the University's final report as the report also said that Messi and Ronaldo's valuation will once again be analysed by the 'Mooc' course, which will begin on April 25.
Cristiano Ronaldo last year made a $40 million investment into four 'CR7' boutique hotels and also has his own game, perfume line, clothing line, underwear line and has mansions in Manchester, Madrid, Portugal, New York (Trump Towers) and Morroco, plus endorsement deals with Sacoor Brothers, Nike, Emporio Armani, KFC, Coca Cola and  motor oil company Castrol.

While Lionel Messi apart from companies allegedly owned by him in tax havens and endorsement deals with Samsung and Adidas, nothing is known of his financial ventures.

EFCC witness disowns own document he submitted against Saraki

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 12:27 PM PDT

Michael Wetkas, a detective of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday April 19th denied knowledge of the contents of a petition he tendered as evidence against Senate President Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

The petition, which is marked "Exhibit 11″, was written by a group known as Kwara Freedom Network, alleging corruption against Saraki. While being cross-examined by Kanu Agabi, Saraki's lead counsel, Wetkas said he was not involved in the investigation of the petition he tendered as evidence at the tribunal.

Regarding whether he confirmed that local government funds were being illegally deducted as alleged in the petition against Saraki, he said:
"Not part of the investigation I carried out."
"Do you know whether the petition was addressed to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB)," Agabi asked.
"I don't work for the CCB. I wouldn't know."
Agabi: "In terms illegal transfer of funds by the accountant general, was he invited?"
Wetkas: "I cannot say because I was not the one in charge of this."
Agabi: "Did you know if this exhibit was referred to him for an answer?
Wetkas: "I wouldn't know, but he was once invited."
Agabi: "Did you meet with the members of Kwara Freedom Network?"
Wetkas: "It was not part of my investigation."
Agabi: "In the course of your work, did you come upon any document in which members of this network were called upon to justify their petition."
Wetkas: "I was involved in this investigation in 2014; the petition was in 2012."
Agabi: "Have you read the petition?"
"I only perused through it."
Agabi: "When you tendered this document, did it occur to you that you will be questioned?"
Wetkas: "This is not the aspect I investigated. Someone more competent than me will talk about it."
Agabi: "Did your perusal show that the asset declaration of the defendant was the issue."
Wetkas: "I can't remember seeing that."
When asked if he obtained the statements of the petitioners, the EFCC detective said he did not know.
Agabi: "Did you obtain any statement from the defendant on this petition?"
Wetkas: "It was not part of my investigation. I didn't investigate this aspect of the petition. There are people who are more competent to talk about it."
Agabi: "Exhibit 11 (the petition) is not addressed to the CCB. No action was taken for four years after exhibit 11 was received?"
Wetkas: "I cannot say that. I didn't investigate exhibit 11."
The trial has been adjourned till Wednesday 20th of April 2016

Bridegroom crashes rented £240,000 Ferrari into wall on his wedding day

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 12:22 PM PDT

A groom crashed a Ferrari worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, which he rented for his wedding, into a row of homes. Miraculously, he escaped without injury.

The white supercar, believed to be worth as much as £240,000, appeared to have been written off after the groom identified as , Usman Ali crashed it into the front wall of a house in Burnley, Lancashire.
Ali, 25, who works as a tyre fitter for his father's garage, and his wife Sakina Parveen is understood to have put down a £5,000 deposit to use the Ferrari 458 Spider for their wedding weekend. The car reportedly belongs to a Birmingham-based luxury car hire company, Platinum Executive Travel.

But on Sunday, the day after the wedding, his foot apparently tripped on the car mat and he pressed the accelerator rather than the brake as he arrived at his friend's house ahead of further celebrations of his nuptials with wife Sakina Parveen.
"I don't think he had enough experience driving this sort of car," a friend told The Daily Mail.
The luxury car – which can go from 0 to 60mph in just three seconds – shot forward and smashed into the front of a terraced house.
According to friends, the crash could cost Mr Ali around £25,000 - with £5,000 lost on the deposit and a £20,000 excess.

Lancashire Road Police tweeted two images of the badly-damaged car with a crumpled bonnet.
"Damage only car crash in Burnley." they captioned the photo.
Lord Aleem, (@aleem_official) whose family appears to own the car hire firm tweeted:
"At least people in Burnley have something to talk about for a few weeks"
He also confirmed that nobody was injured in the crash, saying:
"Thanks for all the kind messages. I wasn't at the wheel, and nobody was injured that's the main thing, have had a lot worse in business. I will have the car back on road in 3 weeks Insha'Allah."

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, decorated as EFCC's Anti-corruption ambassador

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 12:21 PM PDT

Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, was today decorated as the Anti-corruption ambassador to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. While being decorated at his office by EFCC representatives, Ekweremadu called for the establishment of Special Anti-Corruption Courts to reduce the burden on regular courts.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser, Media to Ekweremadu, Uche Anichukwu, states that Ekweremadu said setting up special courts is one of the surest ways to help the fight against corruption, as it would ensure speedy adjudication of corruption cases.
"I have been an advocate of special courts for the trial of corruption cases and I believe that other countries, who have enacted laws establishing such, are not fools because there are benefits to be derived there from. The idea is to expedite trial to make sure that those who are involved in corruption matters will have their day in court. When we have special courts, just as we have the National Industrial Court, such courts will do better than they are doing now. The establishment of special courts is not just something that will be done by an Act of the National Assembly. We have to amend the constitution to bring it about under section 6, for the purpose of trying corruption cases."

'Jose Mourinho was sacked because he trusted us too much'- Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas says

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 09:15 AM PDT

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas says that former coach Jose Mourinho was sacked last year by the Chelsea board because he trusted his players too much.

Mourinho lost his job in December last year after overseeing a poor stretch of form and poor results despite being the club's most successful manager in it's 110 year history winning three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cups.

Fabregas, who insists he remains on good terms with Mourinho, says he and his Chelsea team-mates were to blame for taking advantage of Mourinho's trust.

"I have huge respect for him, we still keep in touch right now," Fabregas said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. "The biggest problem was he trusted us too much, gave us more holiday because we were champions and we let him down. That was the main reason he had to go – and for that myself and the team feel bad for it."

Nick Blackwell has confirmed his retirement from boxing, before insisting he has no hard feeling towards Chris Eubank Jnr. Nick Blackwell almost lost his life after he was rushed to the hospital and put in induced coma after a fight between him and Chris Eubank Jr where he suffered a bleed to the skull.

Blackwell suffered internal bleeding to the brain and was rushed to the hospital after the referee refused stopping the fight until the 10th round despite the serious head injuries Blackwell received.
And today, the fighter has confirmed he won't go into professional boxing anymore as he wouldn't want his family to pass through the heartbreak and emotional trauma that they passed through following his recent ordeal.

Someone asked him on Twitter if he was going to come back to boxing or stop, to which he replied.

Infertility means not being able to get pregnant or inability to impregnate a woman after one year of trying or six months. Women who can get pregnant but are unable to stay pregnant may also be referred to as infertile. If you're you struggling to get pregnant, frustrated or feeling angry for not being able to conceive despite all your efforts... Then you need to Read this post.

Are you having any of the following problems?

-- Irregular Menstrual Cycles
-- Low sperm count or weak erection
-- Endometriosis
-- Ovarian Cyst
-- Miscarriages
-- High Prolactin
-- Hormonal Imbalances
-- Low Sexual Drive

Then, ensure you read this post carefully.

Pregnancy is the result of a process that has many steps and the steps are as follows;
• A woman's body must release an egg from one of her ovaries (ovulation).
• The egg must go through a fallopian tube toward the uterus (womb).
• A man's sperm must join with (fertilize) the egg along the way.
• The fertilized egg must attach to the inside of the uterus (implantation).

Is infertility just a woman's problem?
No, infertility is not always a woman's problem. Both women and men can have problems that cause infertility. About one-third of infertility cases are caused by women's problems. Another one third of fertility problems are due to the man. The other cases are caused by a mixture of male and female problems or by unknown problems.

What Causes Infertility In Men?

Infertility in men is most often caused by:
• A problem called varicocele. This happens when the veins on a man's testicle(s) are too large. This heats the testicles. The heat can affect the number or shape of the sperm.
• Other factors that cause a man to make too few sperm or none at all.
• Movement of the sperm. This may be caused by the shape of the sperm. Sometimes injuries or other damage to the reproductive system block the sperm.

What Increases a Man's Risk of Infertility?
A man's sperm can be changed by his overall health and lifestyle. Some things that may reduce the health or number of sperm include:
• Heavy alcohol use
• Drugs
• Smoking cigarettes
• Age
• Environmental toxins, including pesticides and lead
• Health problems such as mumps, serious conditions like kidney disease, or hormone problems
• Medicines
• Radiation treatment and chemotherapy for cancer

What Causes Infertility in Women?
Most cases of female infertility are caused by problems with ovulation. Without ovulation, there are no eggs to be fertilized. Some signs that a woman is not ovulating normally include irregular or absent menstrual periods.

Ovulation problems are often caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a hormone imbalance problem which can interfere with normal ovulation. PCOS is the most common cause of female infertility. Primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) is another cause of ovulation problems. POI occurs when a woman's ovaries stop working normally before she is 40. POI is not the same as early menopause.

Less common causes of fertility problems in women include:
• Blocked fallopian tubes due to pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, or surgery for an ectopic pregnancy
• Physical problems with the uterus
• Uterine fibroids, which are non-cancerous clumps of tissue and muscle on the walls of the uterus.

What Things Increase a Woman's Risk of Infertility?
Many things can change a woman's ability to have a baby. These include:
• Age
• Smoking
• Excess alcohol use
• Stress
• Poor diet
• Being overweight or underweight
• Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
• Health problems that cause hormonal changes, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and primary ovarian insufficiency

Some health problems also increase the risk of infertility. So, women should talk to their doctors if they have:
• Irregular periods or no menstrual periods
• Very painful periods
• Endometriosis
• Pelvic inflammatory disease
• More than one miscarriage

Footballer Gabriel Agbonlahor suspended after being pictured with girls, laughing gas and alcohol in hotel room (photos)

Aston Villa football club has suspended its captain Gabriel Agbonlahor after he was pictured with randy girls, laughing gas (nitrous oxide) and alcohol in a London hotel, the same night his club were relegated from the premier league following a defeat to Manchester United.

The carpet of the London Mayfair hotel room was littered with cans of legal high nitrous oxide and later the striker who earns £60,000-a-week was seen downing shots and horsing around with hangers-on according to an exclusive report by The Sun.

Aston Villa have now decided to discipline Gabriel Imuetinyan Agbonlahor pending an official investigation into the matter.

An official statement read: "Aston Villa Football Club has today suspended Gabby Agbonlahor pending an internal investigation.

"This is following allegations concerning his conduct at the weekend.

"There will be no further comment from the Club in relation to this matter until the investigation has been completed."

Agbonlahor, 29, who is supposed to be on a personal fitness regime was left out of team who lost 1-0 to Manchester United, because he is overweight and unfit and his antics on Saturday night infuriated the club's supporters

One said: "Just looking at it turns my stomach. It's a real slap in the face for Villa fans.

"If I was captain of a team that has just been relegated I'd be hiding myself away in shame." He said to The Sun.

Meet Anthony Joshua's pole-dancing baby mama (photo)

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 08:27 AM PDT

You've met the baby, now meet the mother. Joshua's baby mama has been revealed to be Nicole Osbourne, 26, a pole dancing teacher he has been dating on and off since school.

The pair were not exactly in a relationship at the time Osbourne took in and it came as a surprise to them but sources say they have now decided to renew their relationship and become a family.

The Sun reports that Miss Osbourne, who stars in YouTube pole-dancing videos, teaches at the Femme Fitness gym in Watford and lives in a £500,000 flat in Finchley, London, with Joseph.

The couple, who met at Kings Langley School in Watford, are said to be sharing responsibility for looking after Joseph with their wider families, but a friend a of Miss Osbourne's told The Sun she wanted the family to unite under the same roof.

The friend said: 'As a new mum in love with her baby's father and living in a smart London home, she should be on cloud nine but it's hard at times being left to bring up a baby alone.
'It's sad Anthony won't move in for keeps. She has a bubbly personality. She's beautiful inside and out.'

Joshua is said to still live with his mother in North London.
Osbourne however is worried over his new found fame and his romantic links to model Cara Delevingne, 23, and X Factor judge Rita Ora, 25.
With looks like that, she should be worried.

TUC ask Buhari to relinquish his position as Minister of Petroleum

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 08:27 AM PDT

As the fuel scarcity in the country lingers on, the Trade Union Congress TUC, has asked President Buhari to relinquish his position as the Minister of Petroleum. President of TUC, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama, made this call at the "Save Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Round Table Conference in Abuja today April 19th. According to Kaigama, the office of the Minister of Petroleum is very important and cannot be combined with the duties of a president.

"There is cogent need for appointment of a substantive Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The ideal candidate for this should be someone who has the necessary knowledge, experience and competence, and who would directly oversee the affairs of the ministry and report regularly to the President. That position is too critically important to the economy to be subsumed as one of the many offices or portfolios of the President and Commander-in-Chief. Of course the position of Minister of State for Petroleum and Mineral Resources should continue to exist as a junior minister in the ministry. A separate Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) should also be appointed to directly supervise the affairs of the NNPC."he said

Tony Elumelu: My Encounter with a 21st Century Boss
 - by Sijibomi Ogundele

Posted: 19 Apr 2016 08:08 AM PDT

The CEO of Sujimoto Group, Sijibomi Ogundele met with Tony Elemelu, at his Ikoyi office on Monday 18th of April, and wanted to share his experience
''A Leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way." Out of John C. Maxwell's many quotes on Leadership, this one struck me when I had the privilege of a time out with Successful Entrepreneur and Mentor, Tony Elemelu, at his Ikoyi office on Monday.
As I walked into his office premises, I wondered how my outing would fare. I began to profile him in my head. He is a busy man. So, he must be impatient. I would only have maybe a few minutes with him. My phone rang, as I was about to step into his office. My Secretary was calling yet again … another appointment … that I had to cancel. My meeting with Jesus was more important than Peter. An Executive came to me.

'Mr. Elumelu has been away so this meeting will be rescheduled'. As I was about leaving, another Executive Assistant came to me, 'Tony says he must see you now'. Tony Elemelu's charm is what strikes you first. His charisma then draws you in. He looked up from his paper work. ''Come in, Suji, don't mind the schedule.'' He was indeed a very busy man. He looked up from his mountainous paper work and asked me genuinely, 'So, Suji, how are you? And Lorenzo?'. I do not get asked that type of question everyday. Although a busy man, Tony is very much alive to business happenings around him. He was reading through his recent French interview with FORBES francophone. I politely excused myself to give time to finish the task before him. ''Uncle T, I'm not in a hurry, let me leave you. Do your thing and I would wait and make some calls at the reception''. An attitude he was to commend later.

After few minutes, he called me out and we headed to Lunch. Wait a minute! This guy has lunch at the Staff Cafeteria!!! An Entrepreneur who pumps millions on Dollars into Businesses, Philanthropy, Mentorship across Africa, eats with his staff right at the same table!!! After he had finished his plate of plantain, he stretches to mine. 'Suji, this your beans looks nicer than mine'. Then after a few seconds, he extended his fork towards into one of his Executives' plate and takes a slice of Chicken. You could tell, that the bond went beyond just eating at the same table.

'Joke, when did you resume?'
'Segun, you stained your cloths, the beans must be so good.'
'Lola, aren't you eating today?'
'Bola, do you know Sujimoto, haven't you heard about LorenzoBySujimoto'
'Funke, please smile, don't be shy. Your Fufu would show but don't be shy.'

A selfie expert, Tony didn't hesitate to take out his iPhone for an immediate selfies session. This was a major life lesson. The very things we consider little in life also matter and go a long way to influence organisational output. No wonder this man excels at everything he does. His Humility is everything!

Tony Elumelu is indeed the 21st Century Boss who exemplifies the reality that Dictatorship has no place in Modern Leadership.
