| Body found at Apple Headquarters Posted: 27 Apr 2016 01:34 PM PDT  A body was found this morning on the campus of Apple's headquarters. Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies are on the campus in Cupertino, CA. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the call came in to dispatch at 8:38 AM as a "possible suicide." A Sheriff spokesperson says the person found dead was a Hispanic male who worked at Apple ... there was no one else involved. As deputies were responding, they were unclear if there were multiple people involved. At one point cops describe a body being found in a conference room, and say that person had a gun. Apple's stock plummeted overnight, more than 7% - crushing the company's value by more than $40 billion. |

| Photos: One die, another injured as fire guts Kurmi Market in Kano State Posted: 27 Apr 2016 12:48 PM PDT  One person was confirmed dead due to suffocation while another was injured following an outbreak of fire at the Kurmi Market in Kano. The fire which started yesterday night to the early hours of today was brought under control by men of the state fire service.      Officials of the NEMA NW led by the Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah and a team of Emergency responders in the state conducted an assessment to ascertain losses caused by the inferno. The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known however the joint assessment teams are still on top of the matter gathering reliable information from strong sources for its report. |

Well we learned that after a recent visit to the OB-GYN, Chyna was told that her pregnancy with Rob is considered High Risk. We're not at liberty to disclose what makes the pregnancy HIGH RISK, and while it's not the kind of thing that is usually serious, we're told that both Chyna and Rob are concerned.One of Chyna's friends told MediaTakeOut.com, "Whatever issues that Chyna had with [the] Kardashians, that's over. Everyone wants to make sure that the baby is OK." We're told that Kris Jenner has been over to Rob and Chyna's house; so has Kim and Kourtney. We're also told that the Kardashians have offered COMPLETE SUPPORT for Chyna - whether it be MONETARY or otherwise. The friend explained, "They basically welcomed Chyna into the family. | Photos: Nigeria Customs Service hands over drugs and two suspects to NDLEA Posted: 27 Apr 2016 12:00 PM PDT  The Seme Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service has once again demonstrated the synergy that exists between the Service and other relevant Sister Security Agencies at the border. Comptroller Dimka, V.D handed over the two suspects (Mr. Abdullahi Ismail and Mr. Valentine Malizu) who were arrested for being in possession of forty (40) wraps of substances suspected to be illicit hard drugs concealed inside cartons of crayfish. The seized drugs weight about 43.4kg with a value of N412,300.00.  The seizure was made possible by the Border Patrol Crack Team 'A' led by CSC Ozah, M.O. Acting on intelligence report, the information received was properly and timely handled, the careful usage of the information paid off when the two (2) suspects were arrested. As a Crack Team that act swiftly on information gathered, the forty (40) parcel of the substance suspected to be Indian hemp was arrested by the Team on the 17th April, 2016 by 1700hrs at Elijah. An attempt by the suspects to bribe the Border Patrol Officers was resisted. The suspects were also found to be in possession of over nine (9) different SIM cards and assorted charms. The handing over was performed by the Customs Area Controller to Senior Narcotics Idrees, D.U who represented the Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Seme.    After the handing over, the CAC re-iterated that the tempo of aggressive patrol within the border will be sustained by his vigilant officers. He warned that all those involved in trans-border crimes should desist from the act or they will continue to face the full wrath of the law. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency authority said that scientific analysis of the illicit drugs and the subsequent prosecution of the suspects in court will be the next line of action. |

| NLC, TUC propose N56,000 as new minimum wage Posted: 27 Apr 2016 08:53 AM PDT  "I can say now authoritatively that as of yesterday (Tuesday) we made a formal proposal to the Federal Government of N56,000 to be the new minimum wage. The demand has been submitted officially to government and we hope that the tripartite system to look at the review will actually be set up to look at it. Our argument is that, yes, it is true that the economy is not doing well, but the law stated that wages for workers must be review after every five years. So, the issue must be looked into by the Federal Government and workers should not be seen as sleeping on their rights,"he said. |

| Buharri urges world bank to facilitate speedy repatriation of stolen funds Posted: 27 Apr 2016 08:40 AM PDT  Speaking at a meeting with the visiting Managing Director of the World Bank, Ms. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, President Buhari said that the repatriation of the additional $320 million in Switzerland, which has been identified as illegally taken from Nigeria under the Abacha administration, will help to ease the current economic hardship facing the country. Buhari assured Ms Indrawati that his administration was taking appropriate steps to ensure that public funds are no longer stolen or misappropriated by government officials. ''We need the support of the World Bank for the repatriation of the funds. We are as concerned as the World Bank about accountability. If such repatriated funds have been misapplied in the past, I assure you that the same will not happen with us. Three hundred and twenty million dollars is a lot of money and we will not allow it to be misappropriated or diverted,'' President Buhari told Ms. Indrawati. One of the conditions given by the Swiss Authorities for the repatriation of the funds is that it should be expended on the implementation of social programmes for the benefit of the Nigerian people in an efficient and accountable way, guaranteed by the monitoring of the World Bank. Buhari also assured the World Bank Managing Director that his administration will honor all agreements with the Bank that will help to stimulate Nigeria's economy and reduce the level of poverty in the country. He said that Nigeria will welcome greater international assistance for the rehabilitation of damaged homes, schools, health facilities and other infrastructure in the North Eastern states affected by the Boko Haram insurgency. Ms. Indrawati told President Buhari that the World Bank was ready to use its knowledge, expertise and resources to help Nigeria achieve faster growth and development. ''We will strongly support you to create jobs and ensure prosperity in Nigeria,'' the World Bank Managing Director assured President Buhari. She also expressed the World Bank's full support for the war against corruption being waged by the Buhari Administration. |

| Counsel to FG Becomes Counsel to CCT Chairman over motion on his Corruption - Report Posted: 27 Apr 2016 08:27 AM PDT  As the trial of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, continues at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), the lead counsel Rotimi Jacobs has assumed a new role as counsel to the CCT boss Danladi Umar. While entertaining a motion filed by one of Saraki's Counsel's, Ajibola Oluyede requesting that he withdraws from presiding over the CCT because of pending bribery charges against him.Oluyede stated emphatically that Dan Ladi Umar's relationship with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as a suspect in a N10million bribery investigation, made him unfit to preside over a case being investigated by the EFCC . Counsel to the Federal Government and persecuting counsel Rotimi Jacobs immediately assumed the role of a counsel to Umar and argued for him intercepting Oluyede. "Your lordship hasn't been charged to any court; not convicted by any court. You're not under any trial. Investigation is a mere investigation the defendant here is still performing his duty as a senator. Today he's the senate president and he's now saying someone who hasn't been charged not to perform his duty". "Mr Oluyede has never appeared before this court as at the time he filled his motion case is between CCT and Bukola Saraki and EFCC isn't involved at all the defender is harassing the tribunal". Rotimi yelled He raised up various more points in defence of Umar as opposed to his core duty as the persecuting counsel in the case filed against Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Bureau . Recall that last week Umar had set the precedence by assuming the role of the persecuting judge, the witness and the presiding Judge. |
