Posted: 28 Apr 2016 12:45 PM PDT

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode earlier today attended the funeral service for Dr. Tunji Braithwaite held at the Reverend Braithwaite Memorial Church, Papa Epe, Lagos.

The notable lawyer and human rights activist died at the St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos in March 28. He was aged 82 and survived by his wife, Grace, 5 children and many grandchildren.

The Governor in a statement said:
"I never thought I would ever be a politician but I have always been very excited about the things Dr. Braithwaite used to propagate and it appears that I have a personal connect around the issues that relate to people and to the masses and that is why we decided, on behalf of the good people of Lagos, that we must honour this very good man and to also immortalize him in a way that people can come to understand those who actually stood for true democracy and also fought for the masses, but they never had the opportunity to do what it is that I have a chance to replicate."

Treat people with gunshot wounds, accident victims before police report- El Rufai directs hospitals

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 12:26 PM PDT

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has directed all hospitals in the state to treat persons with gun wounds and accident victims before demanding police reports. The governor said that the duty to save lives is primary, and must come ahead of formal reports to the police.

The spokesman to the Governor, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement shortly after the 15th Kaduna State Security Council meeting held in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

"The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has directed all hospitals in the state to,with immediate effect, start treating persons with gunshot wounds and accident victims without demanding Police Report as a basis for attention. Lives must be saved first, before the formalities of demanding Police Reports from victims.
After saving lives, hospitals and other agencies can start making inquiries regarding how the gunshot wounds and other injuries were sustained. We consider it a gross abdication of responsibility if any hospital leaves injured patients unattended because of the absence of Police Reports. What is important is saving lives. There is no reason for an innocent citizen who has survived armed robbery and needs treatment for a gunshot wound to be denied the medical attention he requires. The hospitals can comply with reporting requirements to the police after providing the care the patient needs. This is the unanimous resolution of the Kaduna State Security Council. As Governor, I have communicated this decision to the Kaduna State Ministry of Health and Human Services and other concerned agencies operating in the state. A moment of trauma is not the time to put paper before lives. All our healthcare agencies have been advised that it will amount to criminal neglect to deny or delay critical care to such patients."Aruwan said
The meeting of the Kaduna State Security Council which endorsed the resolution was attended by representatives of the Army, Police, Air Force, Navy, DSS, Civil Defense, FRSC, NDLEA and the Customs service. Also present at the meeting were HRH Alhaji Shehu Idris, the chairman of the Kaduna State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Emir of Birnin Gwari, HRH Alhaji Zubairu Jibril II and Kpop Gwong, HRH Paul ZakkaWyom.

London's first naked restaurant has 27,000 on waiting list (and counting) weeks before opening

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 09:07 AM PDT

London first  naked restaurant, where people are free from any form of distraction  including phones, electric lights and even clothing is set to be open for three months from June 2016. The Buyadi as it is called, already has a waiting list of more than 27,000. It has a capacity of forty-two and dinner will cost around £60 per person, and the specific location is so far undisclosed .

According to The TelegraghUK, the website urges prospective diners to sign up in order to be notified when tickets go on sale: "First come first served basis".

Diners will be encouraged to disrobe and  "experience true liberation" while tucking into a tasting menu. On arrival, customers will be escorted to a changing room, asked to place their clothes and belongings in lockers and given a light gown. It is then up to them whether to remove the final item of clothing at the table. Tables will be partly obscured by bamboo screens, creating a semblance of privacy.  Large napkins will presumably be provided to prevent unfortunate burns.

The Bunyadi is the latest creation from Lollipop, the company behind Shoreditch's Breaking Bad cocktail bar, ABQ London. Founder Seb Lyall said:
"I think it will appeal to vegans and naturists from all over the UK. It won't be a first date venue but certainly second dates and dinner with friends."

My name is Esther Ibehre

I am a Human Resources Professional.
One of my key responsibilities as a HR Employee Relations Manager is to negotiate and prepare Employment Contracts for new hires and also to prepare Suspension, Termination and Dismissal letters for employees.
I have had to give Termination/Dismissals letters to the older employees, middle aged and fresh graduates. At the end of every such meeting, the feeling was always the same for both parties, a very sad, depressing and humbling one. I always prayed not to be on the other side of the table for a meeting like this.
I learnt about this business system 8 weeks ago.
I am a skeptic. Initially, I had my doubts.
Then I attended a Business Meeting with the Executives and saw an amazing potential in this business system. I have not only recovered my invested capital, I am on a 6-figure monthly earning with more than enough time for my kids and family.

Photo: Man stabs girlfriend to death in Ilorin, Kwara State for refusing his marriage proposal

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 08:49 AM PDT

A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in the Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara state, on Monday, April 25, for refusing his marriage proposal.

It was gathered that the man, a franchise officer with one of the leading mobile telecommunication operators (MTN) in the area also stabbed his girlfriend's mother when she tried to settle the issue between the two. She sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital where she is receiving treatment.

THISDAY investigations revealed that the man is currently on the run.The spokesman of the Kwara state police Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi who confirmed the incident said the has been declared wanted.

According to Leadership Newspaper, prior to the tragic incident,  the deceased who had been in a relationship with the suspect for some time, insisted that she could not marry him.
"It was gathered that they went out on Sunday night and returned to the girl's house at Tanke area of Ilorin where the mother had also come on a visit to her daughter. Early yesterday morning, the argument resurfaced with the girl still maintaining her position. The young man was said to have allegedly threatened to kill the lady if she refused his proposal.
It was at the height of the argument that the lady's mother reportedly came out of her room with the intention of settling the dispute. The young man was said to have dashed to the kitchen where he allegedly brought out a knife with which he attacked the two women. But another version of the incident claimed that  the  young man, who is currently on the run, had first reported for duty at his office (a telecommunication firm) located along the University of Ilorin road before he told his colleagues he wanted to go and pick something at home."
An eyewitness said that the deceased said to be in her early 39 was stabbed several times at the neck and around the back of the armpit. An autopsy will be conducted on her corpse by the UITH before a formal report will be filed.

Mother recounts how her son handled kids trying to bully him

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 08:48 AM PDT

A woman named Tabitha Boyce has recounted how her son, Jacob, handled some kids trying to bully him - in a post that has been shared over 10,000 times on Facebook. According to her, they were both exiting the car after a long day at the track when some neighborhood kids started laughing and pointing at him. They were taunting him about his spandex track uniform. Rather than get into a fight, he replied them saying,
"This my track uniform and I've been at the track running all day, while you sleep and play I'm at work, which is where you need to be"
When another boy tried to insult him by saying he is probably a slow runner, her son Jacob went into the house and came out with just some of his medals. According to Tabitha,
the bullies' eyes lit up in amazement, looked pretty surprised and they were speechless. Smart of him!

Nautral solution to Diabetes

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 08:44 AM PDT

This is a sponsored post...
The information below was published by WHO a few months ago. It will be of help to you. So many death caused by Diabetes is due to ignorance or lack of knowledge on it.
These spurred the need to highlight to you the following facts sourced from WHO (World Health Organization)documentation;

There is an emerging epidemic of diabetes that can betraced back to rapid increases in overweight, obesity and physical inactivity.Total deaths from diabetes are projected to rise by more than 50% in the next 10 years. Most notably, they are projected to increase by over 80% in upper- middle income countries.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

The early signs of diabetes are not always obvious. They may develop slowly over time, making them hard to identify. Many are asymptomatic. Because they can worsen over a period of years, type 2 diabetes may remain undiagnosed longer than other, more obvious conditions.

Here are 7 early signs to watch out for:

1. Frequent Urination

Also known as polyuria, frequent and/or excessive urinationis a sign that your blood sugar is high enough to start tospill into the urine. Because your kidneys can't keep up with the high glucose levels, they allow some of that sugar to go into your urine, where it draws additional water, making
you have to urinate often.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

2. Extreme Thirst

Extreme thirst is one of the first noticeable symptoms of diabetes for some. It's tied to high blood sugar levels, which cause thirst, and is exacerbated by frequent urination. Often, drinking won't satisfy the thirst.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

3. Increased Hunger

Intense hunger, or polyphagia, is also an early warning signof diabetes. Your body uses the sugar in your blood to feed your cells. When the cells can't absorb the sugar (because of a lack of insulin), your body looks for more sources of fuel, causing persistent hunger.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

4. Nerve Pain or Numbness

You might experience tingling or numbness in your hands, fingers, feet, and toes. This is a sign of diabetic neuropathy, or nerve damage. You are most likely to experience thisafter several years of living with diabetes.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng/

5. Slow Healing Wounds

There are several reasons why a wound will heal more slowly if you have diabetes. Poor circulation, the effects of high blood sugar on blood vessels, and immunodeficiency are just a few. If you experience frequent infections or wounds that are slow to heal, it could be an early symptom.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

6. Blurred Vision

Blurred vision occurs early in unmanaged diabetes. It can be a sign of high blood sugar levels, which cause fluid to shift into the lens of the eye. This usually resolves when blood sugar levels normalize.
www.naturalhealthtreat.com.ng

7. Dark Skin Patches

Dark discoloration in the folds of your skin is called acanthosis, nigricans and is another early warning sign of type 2 diabetes. They are most common in the armpits, neck, and groin regions,
according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Takeaway

If you have any suspicion that you may be experiencing the early signs of type 2 diabetes, talk to your doctor . As with most serious diseases, successful treatment and reduced risk of complications depend on swift diagnosis. Left untreated, type 2 diabetes can lead to lifelong impairment or death.

3 year old boy left with facial injuries after savage attack from dog

Posted: 28 Apr 2016 09:20 AM PDT

A three year old boy was attacked and bitten by a stray dog (lurcher-type hound) as he walked alongside his dad. The boy was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment to injuries to his face. His family agreed to release images of the wounded toddler to warn people and also assist the police in tracking down the dog.

According Mirror UK

Emergency services were called to Birkinhead, in Liverpool, on Monday after reports a child had been bitten by a dog. The boy was walking with his dad on a path between Noctorum Avenue and the Woodchurch estate when he was set upon at around 2.30pm. The boy was rushed to hospital for treatment to injuries to his face and was discharged today. Liverpool Police

Police are now attempting to track down the dog, which is thought to be a stray and is described only as a black lurcher cross type dog.

Neighbourhood Inspector Georgie Minnery said:
"As you can see from the pictures, this was a particularly nasty bite on a little boy who was just walking with his dad. Residents should be able to feel safe in the community and as such we treat all incidents of this nature very seriously.
"We are carrying out a number of enquiries in the area to try and trace this dog, and its owner (if it has one). If anyone from the local community has seen this dog, I'd urge you to get in contact."
